Agnelli's espresso bar and deli in Ceredigion

I had seen the reviews on Tripadvisor and I had to make a stop whilst working in Aberystwyth. I was on my own and the owner made me feel super welcome. They were very busy but still super attentive. I had asked if I could get a cheese/meat board which they said yes straight away. The food came out and it was all so fresh and delicious. Paired with some beers and I got some little pastries to take home which were delicious 😍. I am back in Aberystwyth in a couple of weeks and will definitely visit again. Thank you!

What lovely people; we visited mid morning to purchase part bake meals for dinner; the place was busy, but the staff were so calm and friendly, taking time to talk while serving and asking questions like 'do you prefer the middle or crust end of the bred' stock make sure you get the best of what you ordered. The pastries are lovely little treats not to be missed. Will definitely return here.

We have been visiting here for 10 years or so and have never been disappointed with the food and/or drink and this visit was no exception. I don't normally choose Lasagne out, but this was in a league of its own and helpfully, as Agnelli's is also a deli, we were able to buy a pack of the pasta to take home. If, like me, you take your coffee without the addition of milk or sugar, you will adore it here and probably have a second cup and add a couple of cannoli.

Fabulous Italian 🇮🇹 coffee and meals We always make a beeline for Agnellis. We buy pasta and other lovely foods here to take home. It's a very special place and it's run by a wonderful couple. Coffee is amazing, and we can't resist a canola to go with it. It's our favourite cafe in Aber.

We have bought gifts and treats from Agnelli’s on previous trips, this trip we dined in too. We visited twice we enjoyed the food so much. Both the Aubergine bake and Lasagne, were delicious. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy.

Our daughter is a regular customer and was very keen for us to visit whilst we were in holiday in Aber. It is a fantastic little cafe and the owners very friendly and genuine. We had the cioccolato and coffee, both were excellent. The freshly made focaccia was delicious and I’d recommend the pear, walnut and Gorgonzola panini.

Whenever we travel to Aberystwyth we always visit Agnelli’s. The coffee is fantastic, strong and reviving. Add to this the excellent choice of cannoli (I recommend the lemon) and we are happy. The couple who run the café are delightful, always pleasant and helpful. The stock of Italian foods to purchase is also excellent. We try to support Aberystwyth’s ‘Shop local’ campaign and this is an ideal place to start.

Bought a takeout coffee and a packet of Cantuccini biscuits. Great selection of homemade meals and desserts, and seating for 4. Would have had a meal but had already made arrangements elsewhere. Would definitely dine in next time. Lots of interesting dried pasta etc to buy too.

We were hosting a event in Aberystwyth in September and I found these guys on Tripadvisor. I based my choice on the pictures and it was exactly that! Spot on. Really delicious, we had cold meat and cheese platters and a mix of pasta’s for about 10 people. They even delivered them to us. Can’t wait to go back, really friendly people!

When in Aber a must visit for us . Excellent food great service, very reasonably priced wine . What more could you ask for ? Be prepared to book in advance to save disappointment. Oh and the Italian pastries are worth the visit alone ....

Two adults three 12year olds - this little gem of a place was amazing my son thought it was the best pizza he had ever had, everyone was pleased amazing experience very good value for money, well worth a visit.

Just had panini and coffee in this lovely cafe in Aberystwyth. The best panini I’ve eaten outside of Italy! If you want great coffee and an authentic Italian snack this is the place to go! And the staff are lovely too.

We recently went to Agnellis when were in town for the weekend.The restaurant is compact but the with a really nice atmosphere.The staff were really friendly and helpful and the men was traditional Italian food.The quality of the food was excellent and great value for money.The owner came and spoke to us when we left which was really nice and I wish he continued success for the future

You’d be forgiven for not noticing this tiny restaurant with its quaint Italian style ‘coffee shop’ frontage..... but inside they’re serving some seriously delicious home cooked evening meals at very reasonable prices. The restaurant has a tiny section of seating at street level and then around six further tables downstairs where we sat. There’s a small but excellent menu plus ‘specials of the day’ which were prawn linguine, Sicilian sausage pasta and a mushroom dish when we visited. We ordered the large meat and cheese sharing board between 3 as a starter, prawn linguine, aubergine bake, lasagne and a chicken and Italian sausage dish. The staff were really friendly, and more than happy to advise on dishes and wine. The sharing board was presented beautifully, with a huge quantity of meats and cheese - totally delicious and served with honey, bread and balsamic oil - more than enough for 3 people to share. The mains were all home cooked and really tasty, all washed down with a lovely red bottle of Italian wine (lots of choice). Thank you Agnellis for a lovely evening. Would definitely return next time we’re in Aberystwyth.

My wife and I dined at Agnelli's to celebrate her birthday a couple of weeks back and the entire evening was perfect. Excellent wine, fabulous food, great service and an all-round wonderful meal.

We travelled to Aberystwyth in august. Agnellli's was one of the restaurants on a hand written list we got from the owner of our appartment (Y Lanfa). "Great italian food and good pizza for children."

The starter of bruscheta and tomato was incredible. Very well presented and full of flavour.

Family meal ended poorly one of our party fell coming out of the toilet apparently the ‘mind the step’ sign had fallen off. We were given a pack of frozen prawns for a bruised knee and the offer of a doctor, ambulance or lift to the hospital. All well and good but our family member only wanted to leave due to extreme embarrassment of the attention which was attracted. There was no concern regarding H&S; or duty of care. The final insult was a reduction of £7 from our bill. Small businesses need to be encouraged and flourish but also need to accept responsibility when things go wrong beyond an empty gesture.

Wow! This place is awesome! It’s always exciting when you find a great independent and I can highly recommend Agnelli’s. The service was warm and friendly, the coffee was perfect, and the pastries were incredible. My biggest disappointment was that I couldn’t try them all! Next time I’m in Aberystwyth I will be heading straight back.

This was a fabulous find. We popped in and ordered the prawn linguine and pappardelle. They were absolutely gorgeous. The little pastries are delightful. What an excellent discovery.

However many times I eat at Agnellis I am always happy with my choice from the menu. The flavours are divine and can always recommend the cheese and meat platter as a filling and sharing platter as etherca starter or as a light lunch. Yummy!

We were advised to come here due to a good coffee. It is true that the coffee was very tasty and excellent. The location is good in the corner of Bridge street in the town center. The space was not big but the setting was nice and the ambiance was cosy. It seems that this is a popular venue for local people bc there were most of local people in the cafe. The owners were nice and friendly. It was interesting to talk to owner lady.

The smell of real coffee hits you when you walk into this cosy authentic Italian cafe / bistro -so much has been packed into the small inviting street level room - shelves of delicious and pretty packets/jars of mainly Italian foods and bottles of interesting drinks- you could make a beautiful original hamper for someone as a gift or infact treat yourself - there are tempting fresh pastries, cheeses and salami displayed the front counter. We just had coffee and a long chat - but I noticed there were regulars here having a Saturday morning treat and catch up - families with young ones , older couples and groups of friends - this place is suitable for all and there is plenty of room downstairs too - Loved it - it has so much personality

Me and my partner went for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. Went not knowing what was on the menu and we weren’t disappointed. Huge selection of starters and sharing platters, we shared a small meat and cheese platter and it was definitely enough for us. The mushrooms with bacon were definitely a highlight, and the crusty bread complimented everything. We then ordered a lasagna and Tuscan chicken skewers with Italian sausage and potatoes. The lasagna was proper Italian homemade style and tasted amazing, and the chicken and sausages were cooked to perfection. The waitress and chef/owner(?) were brilliant, couldn’t have done more for us. We took two cannolis home for dessert and they were perfect. Brilliant place for any size party as there is seating downstairs which not everyone knows. Perfect evening for us and much better than the other Italian establishment in Aberystwyth we visited in March on North Parade.

Looking for somewhere convenient and close to my position I happened upon Agnellis on Bridge Street. Not a very prepossessing frontage concealed a small coffee shop with pleasant staff offering a variety of traditional Italian dishes.

We waren na een lange wandeling langs de kade in Aberystwyth wel toe aan een lekker kopje koffie en thee. In Bridge Street zagen we deze kleine trattoria die er heel sfeervol uitzag. We installeerden ons aan een tafeltje aan het raam. We bestelden cappuccino en thee en kozen – met moeite, want er was veel keus – twee dolci uit in de vitrine. De cappuccino was heerlijk en de dolci (cannoli onder andere) waren verrukkelijk. We werden zeer vriendelijk bediend door de Italiaanse eigenaar en zijn collega. Nog even een beetje Italiaans gepraat ook. Een aanrader!

We went for an evening meal twice this week while visiting the town. Great home made Italian food and very good service. Very nice atmosphere too..

I have not eaten at this restaurant however I passed it onto the way to the Glengower which was crap and I also passed it on the way back and it looked excellent and how I wished I had called in. The food through the window looked superb and the place had an authentic look about it. If you bother to look you will see what I mean.

My colleague and I was in Aberystwyth for a couple of hours and decided to have a starter at Medina (very good) and then a light meal at Agnelli's. The deli has a nice ambience but the tables and chairs are very close to each other as space is limited in the small shop (more down stairs but then lacks ambience).

We are never let down when visiting this restaurant, its only small in size with a few seats upstairs and more underground- so it is best to book!

I am a regular here, must have been 10-15 times, because it's one of my fav places in Aber. The food is always delicious, and for a meal out it's reasonably priced - although I will add that the portion sizes aren't huge, that's totally fine though if you're getting a starter or dessert with your main. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere, and the owner always greets me with a smile and asks how I've been. Have gone with friends who can't have diary, gluten or meat and are great at accommodating.

We stopped by here for a bite to eat as we'd seen some very good reviews and we were not disappointed at all. The place is quite small (not uncomfortably so) but with extra seating downstairs, it has a very rural European feel and offers a great range of charcuterie and cheeses as well as homemade dishes and hot paninis. The small cheese and meat platter is by no means small! Perfect as a sharing starter or as a single meal, there's 6 or so meats and 6 or so cheeses with olives and bread, all very tasty indeed! The owner (Mario I think...) is very attentive, I had a good chat with him about various charcuterie and was offered a sample of a very good salami (which I bought some of after!) All in this place is a great little hidden gem, I'd definitely recommend this place if you like various cured meats and cheese or some great homemade Italian food! Thanks for a great meal! Absolutely worth 5 stars out of 5.

Holidaying in W.Wales, decided to try this deli which looked ok when we passed by and had coffee earlier...I was wrong..it was so much better than ok. The staff were pleasant and attentive, the tapas were lovely, well cooked and well presented. Good choice of alcohol..I can’t think of a thing to say that isn’t good about this establishment

We came here for lunch, everything was really tasty; delicious coffee and fresh paninis with high quality products inside. Definitely worth to try tiramisu - real star!

This Restaurant is brilliant. I am a regular here and have never had cause to complain about anyhting. The food is home made and authentic Italian cuisine. The portions are genuine and excellent value for money. Try the tuscan sausages and the tiramasu they are fantastic. Keep up the good work Agnellis.

A wonderful platter of meat cuts and cheese - served with love and care. They never fail to deliver.

Upstairs or downstairs , the pasta is awesome, best outside of Milan. Fresh and great taste, lovely quaint eatery.

Popped in lateish on Saturday as they were closing the kitchen but they sorted us out with pizza, salad and wine. The pizza was spot on (lovely thin crust and cooked properly) and the salad (courgettes, lemon and parmesan) was even better!

On drab grey evening in Aberystwyth we went looking for an early evening meal. First stop was a tapas - couldn't believe they were closing at 5pm, because they do on a Monday! Anyway, we dropped on this small unassuming bistro with a very inviting window and wall to wall display of Italian fayre. It has tables downstairs too. The service was very good and the main courses we selected were all delicious - anchovy pizza, ham and mushroom pizza, lasagne - come highly recommended. The pizzas are top notch!

Four of us went for dinner here to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is small and plainly furnished. The food is Italian and it is excellent. It is low-priced - we all had three courses and five drinks between is and the bill came to £84. The service is very good and I would definitely recommend Agnelli's.

We visited here on the off chance there would be a free table without booking. I came here once before, earlier this year with my family and it was absolutely fantastic, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing, I couldn’t wait to return. My mom and I were on holiday in Aberystwyth and couldn’t wait to take her to this lovely little Italian restaurant. We shared a ham and mushroom pizza for starter, then had homemade lasagne with a lovely green fresh salad and homemade bread, we also shared a bottle of wine. Thank you again to all staff and compliments to the chef for a wonderful meal, we have booked again for Saturday evening as my husband will be joining us, we know it will fantastic as usual ❤️ Thank you again from The Moores Family xxxx

This amazing little gem is at the top of the High Street in Aberystwyth. It’s run by a young Italian couple and all the freshly cooked and prepared food is a delight. We’ve had everything from the pastas, mozerella bake to the chicken skewers. Everything is wonderful. Don’t miss.

Stumbled upon this place and so glad we did! Proper home cooked Italian Fayre at very reasonable prices. Staff were lovely, couldn't fault a thing.

We only stopped for lunch on the off-chance because it looked interesting from the outside but will return for an evening meal to sample more of what's on offer. A small Italian Deli that also offers a food menu packed with delicious flavours. Think this unassuming restaurant is run by people who really like food and want to share their passion with other people! Counter service during the day and table service after 5.30 apparently. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with lovely smiling staff who were delighted to see that we were enjoying our meal AND we couldn't resist leaving without with a bag full of their delicious Italian pastries.

A good choice of genuine, delicious home cooked Italian food. Lovely friendly staff. Didn’t have to wait long. Reasonable prices. I would visit more often if distance and time allowed. And to all of you who have given a poor review this is a small independent restaurant that is a joy to the town. It’s too easy to critisise.

Atmosphere warm and welcoming.The food was outstandingly Italian,freshly cooked,very tasty and sensibly priced. Well worth a visit.

We visited the downstairs section for an early evening meal.we had one anchovies with bread and one olives with bread for starters followed by the grilled tuscan sausages and a lasagne from the specials board for mains.

Returned to Agnellis whilst on holiday this week, having eaten there a year ago and despite experiencing very poor service, decided to give the place another chance.....

Really disappointed that when asked for more bread with my meat and cheese platter was asked to pay £1.80 for a few pieces of crusty bread.

This is in my opinion the best cafe in Aberystwyth for both coffee and food. I have eaten here numerous times and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone looking for authentic simple itallian food or the best coffee in the area. It doesnt have the pretenciousness of Ultra Commeda and is more intimate than Medina. The Fennel Sausage Pasta is taste pefection for me. If you get claustrophobic it's probably not for you, however, if you like great food in a traditional Italian cafe (owned and staffed by Italians) then this is worth a try if you're in the area.

The manager (or person acting as such) was abusive and intimidating, and his behaviour is completely out of line with local values of community and mutual respect. Despite the initial abruptness of the waiter, I ordered food and coffee, handing over £7.50 to pay for it. After sitting down I realised this was more than I had expected and in fact it should only have been £7.15. I asked for the change and no explanation was offered. Instead I received a begrudging response, being told to wait and that it would be brought out with the cappuccino. When I asked why it hadn’t just been given to me in the first place I was told unapologetically it was assumed to be a tip. This could have been an understandable error, although the change I gave would not have implied a tip.

Decided to come here on a recent visit to Aberystwyth, it's very small but that just adds to its charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and love talking to the customers, the atmosphere is so relaxed and it almost feels like it's own community when you're in there. For this alone it's worth a visit but the food is also great. They make their own bread which is absolutely phenomenal, wonderfully light and airy with a great rustic taste absolutely perfectly paired with a olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip, you can get multiple kinds as well, the sun dried tomato was probably my favourite. I had the main cause of the chicken skewers and Tuscan sausages which were beautiful as well, the chicken melted in your mouth and the sausages were really flavourful. My girlfriend had the Tuscan sausage pasta which was also very good. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area but I'd book ahead to make sure you're able to get a place, you wouldn't want to miss out!

I popped in with hubby for a quick bite. We had not booked but they were able to fit us in. We both had pizza and a glass of wine. Will Definetly be back. Emphasis here is on the quality so don't bother if you just want to fill your boots with second rate food this is not the place. Best coffee in Aber. Best canolli in town. Probably the finest coffee in Aberystwyth. We chose two options from the panini menu, each was a superb combination of flavours. The salmon and mascarpone were delicate and soothing, the black olive and ham were deep, smoky and totally tasty. A good price for excellent quality ingredients.

Best coffee in the West and wonderful service and staff. Food is also outstanding and made to order. Had the Prosecco to celebrate birthday followed by the zucchini and anchovies starter and all 3 of us enjoyed rich red vino with the roast aubergine followed by homemade Tiramisu/ Affagato with Deserano and Italian thick Chocolate. Came in here for a coffee and a sweet Italian pastry with my family and girlfriend, everything was clean and above board didn;t have any mains but saw some of the stuff coming out and it looked fab.

I have dined here several times and each visit leaves me longing to return. The menu offers such delights that I am transported back to Italy immediately and the warm welcome and atmosphere make Agnelli’s a real treasure. Dine here and enjoy.

A fantastic meal, where the pasta dishes, especially the Tuscan Sausage were the highlight. Lovely atmosphere and terrific value.

The restaurant area is very small with very little atmosphere. The actual setting is not a reason to go there ,it is quite plain and uninspiring in a basement. The food however is very nice and makes up for the lack of ambience. The menu is also restricted but the choice they do have is freshly prepared for you. If you like cakes you can choose from a selection of about twelve from Deli they are small and we had 4 each - divine.

Choose your lunch off the extensive menu upstairs, order and pay, and there are plenty of seats downstairs if it looks a bit crowded. I had the Peccorino, grape and walnut salad, a lovely taste combination with very fresh bread. They do not sell flat whites, but the cappuccino I had was much better than any of the other so-called flat whites in the UK. Great Italian sweet pastries.

Worth a visit to this Italian coffee shop. Nice pastries to enjoy with the nice coffee. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Haven't tried anything off the food menu as yet. But it all looks delicious and well prepared

We were staying in Aberystwyth for a couple of days and our host recommended this restaurant. As soon as I walked through the door I could tell from the smell that it was authentic. It's not big so we had to book a table for the following evening. The menu is short (a good thing in my opinion) with a choice of antipasto, pasta, risotto and mains. We had pasta: Frutti di mare and sausage with nduja, then we shared a main course. That was plenty of food and it was all excellent, clearly using quality ingredients. Prices were very reasonable too. We just had to go back for coffee the following morning to have coffee with their homemade pastries - including Sicilian canoli.
