Breaktimes Cafe in Gwynedd

Came here early on a Sunday morning after staying in the nearby Travelodge. Some of the reviews made us a bit apprehensive, but came to try it anyway. Glad we did, food was lovely, quick to come out and well cooked. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. Prices seemed decent considering the current times!

Great place for a breakfast near the Travelodge. Unfortunately we couldn't take our dogs inside but there's seating outside which was fine. The food was really good along with the service

Late breakfast and a first visit for two years. We noticed various changes and not for the better. The free juice had gone along with the help yourself water. Prices were up and the once extensive choices were narrowed down. £27 for two medium breakfasts a coffee and a bottle of water was a considerable increase and not very good value, but quality was good as always, but not the bargain it once was. Service was good and reasonably fast, everything was spotlessly clean, parking was easily available.

Great standard no frills breakfasts. Great for gluten free or any dietary requirements as there are replacements and you can swap out things from the meals. Also suitable for celiacs as they can cook meals separately if necessary.

When we are in Porthmadog we all ways go there for breakfast if we have not got the dog just a pity they won't let dogs in. We have a lot of friends with dogs 🐕

I had a vegetarian breakfast which was large and enjoyable. The staff were very positive, smiling and helpful which made the visit a pleasure.

What a pleasant surprise. Located on an industrial estate you walk into a bright, spotlessly clean eating area. Staff are so welcoming. Had a delicious cooked breakfast. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. Free parking, toilet, wheelchair accessible. Definitely will return.

I saw the mixed reports, but I like to judge for myself. So we went today, looks like a cafe on an industrial estate from the outside but once inside it is like a restaurant, very clean, very nice, food good, we both had breakfast and coffee, couldn't fault it, even the toast was thick sliced bread (one of my pet hates having thin sliced bread for toast), we will be returning.

So bad it was actually funny. Ordered and payed at the till then sat in the chair, wobbly table. Food arrived and the the old man had his thumb in my egg. He then stayed there looking at me for an awkward period of time. Food was warm but not hot, cheap cut bacon and coffee was weak. Then to top it all off the old man started arguing loudly with kitchen staff and the young girl serving. What a rule man, I won’t be going there again and it was so expensive for the quality of food we had.

Called in for breakfast as was staying in nearby travelodge and breaktimes had great reviews.when my breakfast arrived it looked amazing but j was hugely disappointed when I tucked in,the beans were cold and the bacon was well overcooked and hard,the sausage were cheap and nasty but on the bright side the hash browns were probably the best j,ve ever had,my strong black Americano was awful and looked like dishwater!fortunately the petrol garage down the road sells lovely coffee and hot snacks,j vusut north Wales regularly and won't be calling back to breaktimes,

Easily the best breakfast baps I've ever had, i had a sausage, bacon and egg bap with tomato ketchup and it was amazing, 100% recommend!

We visit every time we are in the area. The food quality is excellent with a great range of options. We went for the Best breakfast which gives a good portion. Staff are friendly and offer great customer service. A little gem in Porthmadog. We will be visiting again in the near future.

Wow, never been before but had heard a lot saying it was good. I had soup which was lovely, my friend had the breakfast, not dissapointed at all,fantasic food, staff and spotlessly clean. Worth a visit and will be going back soon. Diolch yn fawr

Oh my! If you're nearby and after a bite, this is the place to go! Absolutely loved it - Breakfasts went down a treat before heading up Snowdon!

We found this place a couple of years ago when we stayed at the nearby Travelodge and each time we visit the area, this is where we go at least once. The staff are great and the food is fresh and hot. Highly recommended if you're in the Porthmadog area.

Visited this place on several occasions and always make a special trip to enjoy a meal here when we stay in Barmouth. This is hands down one of the best places for food; not just locally. Lovely atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff and top notch food!

Caffe clean and tidy .Only a few customers which had all been served. Waited 20 mins for a takeaway sandwich. Dont go if you are in a hurry. Sandwich was average.

Absolutely lovely; excellent vegeterian or vegan breakfast lots of different choices for everyone and there was so much we never ate till the next day

Long wait (wasn’t overly busy) Staff were great, very friendly however it was really overpriced. 2 sandwiches with 2 tiny bowls of chips and 2 drinks £24 Chips were tasty but not many of them!

We come here every time we visit Porthmadog. It’s most definitely one of the best places to eat. Breakfast is amazing and isn’t any greasy whatsoever! Service today was fantastic. Thanks again guys

Stopped off for breakfast on the way to Portmeirion. Clean and tidy with lots of options on the menu. Very friendly staff.

Don’t let the fact it’s in the middle of a Commercial estate put you off. The food here is lovely. It’s freshly prepared to order and served straight up hot. You can see the kitchen staff working hard and the service is really quick.

Fantastic service from all, especially the lovely lady serving at the till. We sat outside as we had a dog with us but they were all very lovely and accommodating. The food was great, the New York Benedict is a great dish 😊 the omelette & pancakes were great too. Not overly expensive either. Definitely the best breakfast/brunch in and around Porthmadog.

I needed a solid, quality breakfast to get me home. I wasn't disappointed. Clen, friendly and quality ingredients. Great work!

I don't easily give 5 stars to a place, but this cafe is exceptional! I popped in after a rough night campung looking for a coffee and maybe a breakfast bap, expecting a typical industrial estate greasy spoon. Fortunately I was very surpised to find a lovely presented, clean and welcoming cafe. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful and it didn't take any persuasion for me to decide to sit in and have a proper breakfast. I was in the mood for a simple cooked breakfast, and that's what I had, but it was high quality and perfectly cooked. However, I was also impressed by the rest of the menu as it had a huge variety of delicious and 'fancy' breakfast choices. From what I saw, I can be confident that these would be excellent quality. Also, prices were very decent (£6.95 for my cooked breakfast) As I left, full of positive thoughts for the staff and food, I noticed their mission statement in the entrance which basically echoes everything I've just said: excellent customer service, great food, defying expectations for an ind. est. cafe. Well done to all staff. I will definitely be back with family whenever possible!

Lovely place with a warm welcome. They were happy to accommodate a dietary change and the food was both plentiful and tasty. Would recommend. It was really noisy, but that's because it was full, so not an issue other than too loud

This was the first time I've visited here. One of the guys I work with recommended it as he's been here befor. 11/10!! The food was amazing, and a great price. The portions were fantastic. Imaginative menu, food beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly staff, plenty of space between tables so it doesn't feel crowded.

Food was brilliant here, service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. I had the Maple and bacon pancakes, they were just lush! The full breakfast wasn't greasy which is a winner in my husband, they even go the extra mile to keep the children happy. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in town.

This place has fantastic menu for breakfast and lunch and the prices are very good. I also like the way you can see your food being prepared and it's all cooked fresh and the staff are very friendly and helpful and are a credit to the owner. I will be back in again the next time I am in the area.

Only discovered this on Wednesday, while looking around SD so popped in for a light lunch, lovely atmosphere, spacious, clean, and a little goldmine, good and delicious, breakfast was served until 11.30 am, I think they close at 15.00hrs, we went back Thursday morning, you can see the food being cooked, contactless and cash payments accepted, highly recommended, 5 * rating as very impressed. Thank you to the staff.
