The Castle Green achieves the perfect balance of outstanding food, a friendly atmosphere and a wonderful team, lead by Mavis! Thank you for the best carvery EVER, we will be back!

A great carvery with a good selection of meats especially the welsh lamb. The homemade puddings were a hit too! The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, so friendly, it really made the evening. We also got to try some Bara Brith that our hosts bought from their own kitchen for us to taste. A really wonderful evening that added to our family holiday!

Honestly this place is just a total Gem from the second we walked through the door the friendly cosy atmosphere is just incredible feels like home. Called to see if there was a table for 2 available for Sunday lunch and luckily there was. We had a delicious carvery, 4 different meats, all very succulent and tasty. Were do i Start as soon as we walked in we were greated with a smile and 'Croeso' Mavis had time to talk to us although it was very very busy she got our drinks and took us to our table were we then ordered our Starter portion was masive then off we went to the carvery 4 Meat and then Home made Y pudd roasties parsnips and 6 vegetables/gravy The meat was cooked to perfection tasty and plenty of it then Bryan came through a few times to meet and greet inbetween cooking We felt like family having Sunday Lunch Wel recomended and i wil be returning EXCELENT

Excellent carvery with choice of 4 meats and very good variety of vegetables. We both chose the welsh lamb which was delicious and large in portionsl. To full to have pubs but there was a good choice. Service was excelent and very friendly. Please note payment by cash only. Parking 5 mins away in Sainsbury pay and dislplay. Couldn't beat this meal! What a find, thank you trip advisor for pointing this place out and no doubts as to why it has recieved 5 star reviews on here. Drinks were very well priced, but the food was absolutely amazing! The bar was very traditional and quirky and the restaurant area was very nice and clean. Staff were great and couldn't do enough for us. They even bought out water and meat for our dog without even asking! We had, what most would agree a bit of a potential disaster... Only 1 slice of chocolate cake left, but 2 children under 10 who had eyed it up! .....the staff took the conundrum upon themselves to solve and we were very kindly presented with 2 fabulous plates of (smaller) cake slices, filled with icecream and sprinkles... The children were more than happy! The Sunday dinner was absolutely gorgeous, melt in your mouth meat and considering my family live off roasties, everyone left fully satisfied (after being offered more potatoes!) couldn't fault the staff, everyone was so friendly and made us feel comfortable and well fed. If we find ourselves in the area again, there would be no hesitation to eat here again. Thank you all from the family of 7 plus 2 children!

Was recommended this place for a Sunday carvery. Did not disappoint!! Very homely comfortable atmosphere. Choice of 4 meats, we had Welsh Lamb and Beef. Plenty of vegetables and even mushy peas!! We had a few days break in Aberaeron and to be honest only found this restaurant as all the restaurants in Aberaeron were either fully booked or were not serving food due to staff shortages. So a 12 mile drive to this restaurant was not ideal but once we arrived we were greeted with a warm family welcome by Mavis. Once our table was ready we were led it by another friendly welcome from Carri. The menu had some good choices and was very reasonably priced. When the food came out it was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. We decided that despite the 12 mile drive we would return to the restaurant a couple of days later. We did return and again we had the same warm welcome and fantastic food. We also met the other co-owner and Chef Bryan. This is a great place if you want good food and a warm welcome. If we are in that part of Wales again we will definitely be returning.

I can’t fault either the food or the welcome at the Castle Green restaurant. We were greeted warmly and offered drinks while we sorted out the Track ‘n Trace formalities, and then shown to our table. We had pre-ordered our food by email the night before so everything was ready and piping hot when it was served. The waitress was delightful, offering condiments & sauces with cheer and good humour. As I said earlier, the food was faultless - my son and I had the Sirloin Steak (cooked exactly as ordered), my wife the Sirloin Beef Stroganoff and my daughter the Chicken in Cracked Black Pepper Sauce. All of it delicious with plenty of veg and chips (look out for the stuffed cabbage - fantastic). I personally had the most delicious Vanilla Cheesecake for dessert; best I’ve had in years. All in all a very pleasant evening’s dining and we’ll never forget Mavis - what a host.

We were staying for a couple of nights in the area and found the pub / restaurant on trip advisor. We received a very welcoming reception on arrival, got some drinks in the bar and moved into the restaurant when our food was ready. Food was traditional pub food and very enjoyable, good portions and valueUse the side door for entry (covid one way system) and note that it is cash only. Very tourist friendly. Enjoy!
