CCCP Restaurant in Thanet

As soon as I entered I was greeted warmly by one of the family members behind the bar and seated in a room which is nostalgic to most Eastern Europeans. Food was more than amazing and definitely worth the price in my opinion. Would definitely go again. Homemade always wins.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at ccp,it was our first visit to the restaurant which was very friendly and welcoming. The wild boar was lovely, very tender,and the chicken Kiev was delicious too,all the food was cooked to order which added to the whole experience which was very enjoyable indeed, would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning soon.

In Ramsgate with a team of 11 people and in need of an evening meal, I called CCCP to ask if they could accommodate us. After a bit of thought, the proprietor said yes but asked if we would mind ordering in advance as he already had a large birthday party booked in. Not a problem, the restaurant has a good website with pictures of most of the dishes. When we got there, the tables were ready and we settled in for some truly wonderful food, well presented with a good range of Eastern European beers, home made cordial and mulled wine. I have to say that the Beef Stroganoff was possibly the best I have ever had and I had to try really hard to slow down and enjoy the flavours! Three of my colleagues had the chicken Kiev and all thoroughly enjoyed it. I also discovered that I had two vegetarians in the group … no problem, there are good vegetarian options available and both commented how nice their meals were. Would I recommend CCCP? Absolutely! Will I be organising future visits to Ramsgate to coincide with their opening hours?! Too. Blooming. Right!! Do yourself a favour and eat here if you are in Ramsgate and the restaurant is open. You will not regret it!

It's totally perfect, home cooked and wonderful tasting food. We ate a great meal here with great service. I had a really tasty Wild Boar wow, what can I say, perfect along with roasted potatoes and salad. But the must have is the Honey Cake. We'll be back again, thanks for making us so welcome.

Excellent food and friendly service at a small family restaurant. Most dishes are cooked fresh not reheated, this can take a little longer but it’s well worth it. If you are short of time let them know and they will suggest dishes that match your schedule. The grilled vegetables of the day were outstanding.

Another fab visit to this quirky restaurant specialising in the cuisines of the former Soviet Union hidden away in Ramsgate. The owner is really engaging and brings a smile to everyone’s faces. All three courses were delicious - particularly the honey cake! Can’t recommend enough.

Hadn't been in a while, and was glad to see nothing had changed - the food and atmosphere are still as great as ever. Our Baltic host, Ramsay, is as garrulous as ever, and his wife still cooks up some amazing dishes - an excellent evening, I cannot wait to go again.

An exemplary dinner, both courses cooked from scratch and served with the owner’s recommendation of a light Russian beer. The menu was extensive and fascinating. We would have enjoyed trying the puddings but helpings here are very generous indeed and there was no space. The welcome and service were charming. We will certainly return to investigate more of the menu!

Put aside any ideas you may have about Eastern Europeangood being stodgy, meat heavy and lacking flavour. Our meals were fresh and flavourful. The Salad Olivier...aka Russian salad was almost a meal in itself. The summer borscht was a nice surprise with its new tangy taste for me and the hot borscht was rich and tasty. Some of us still had room for a dessert of honeycake and shots of 'special' vodka. The decor was very much hunting lodge style with a twist! Ramsay our host and proprietor made us very welcome and obviously enjoys his customers and is justifiably proud of the food he serves. If you are visiting Ramsgate make it a point of having a meal here, you won't forget it in a hurry, for the best of reasons.

What a wonderful and quirky evening! Didn't quite know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. A lovely family run restaurant. The menu was so interesting I couldn't decide, but chose the wild boar which was beautifully tender as was my friend's chicken shaslik. Will have to go back for more.

This restaurant is one of Ramsgate's gems. Food is freshly made to order, top ingredients, excellent selection of continental east European dishes. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. and always warm welcome from the owner/host is a great bonus! Highly recommended

How can i say it?? Rip off, non authentic Russian food. Lots of short cuts used, including the use of shop bought mayonnaise to hide the bland flavours of the food. Dishes completely overpriced and small. The beer was watered down and flavourless and the wine cheap plonk. We ordered but promptly left before our main course was brought to us. For £20 a main dish i would expect top notch like the food i have eaten in Russian restaurants in London that i have eaten in. Don't waste your money.

I celebrated my 50th birthday at this restaurant on 28th October on the basis of previous reviews. It was a busy night as there were 16 of us at one point. Ramsay took our food orders in advance and everything went smoothly on the day. We all had an enjoyable evening. Ramsay and his crew looked after us, the varied dishes we had were very tasty and portions were big. Would definitely recommend.

Eating here was amazing, from the moment we walked in we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. I came here about 10 years ago as a child and boy oh boy am I glad I came back as an adult! The herring salad was brilliant, as were the fried rye bread sticks, even better than the ones I had in Lithuania! Ramsay the host was good enough to explain the pros and cons of different types of bread used for this purpose when I asked. The mains were similarly great and more than enough to fill our bellies. These were washed down with a delicious red ale and a few special little vodkas - all to the ambience of Russia's top 40 charts. It's a top place and it deserves our support, Ramsay and his wife really care about the restaurant and it shows! There is also a fine hat on offer for anyone daring enough to pose.
