Good wee chippy but a few items are a miss (see burgers)

Found their prices a wee bit more expensive than other fish & chip shops. I asked for a fish supper expecting cod but it definitely wasn't cod. Needed to add plenty of extra salt and vinegar at home to give it some flavour.

Rarely go. Price is so high last time went and no 'large' chips on offer literally a handful at full price. Also, the fish is whitening or nothing..well it was anyway. Not a fan, rarely go, but in past the chips - the few there was - were ok, better than average tbh.

Food was good, staff hygiene is questionable. When ordering a cheesy chip from this chip shop, the staff opened a box of cheese, picked some up and licked it off their fingers before using the same hand to scoop some on to my order. Have ordered here many times before but will not be back.

I take my daughter every week after swimming. She loves the food and the staff are super friendly

Although quality is very good, it is let down by inattentive staff and is quite expensive in comparison with similar establishments. Also a comprehensive, priced menu is not displayed.

£5.80 for two battered sausage but I'm scoring it on taste and not the price very nice sausage and few chips with it good as well

Kept clean and tidy reasonable prices. But due to covid 19 the staff had no hats. One of the staff was coughing as she was flying off the chips and didn't clean her hands afterwards

Wow!!!! We haven’t had from here in years! Cafe cod is our nearest to be honest. But last time it was bad! So we rethought... thank you so much, the young girl on the phone was so polite (thank you) she really is a credit to you all,and I hope you thank her from me (02.01.2021 @ 6.25pm). Food was lovely but very over priced for portion size

Never was nervous sharing a portion of chips...counted 13 chips one big one and 11 crumbs would hate to see the kids one...really quite annoyed after waiting 20 mins to be served got handed nothing...£4.20 including a garlic dip...spoilt my dinner with anger...especially when things are tight for folk and they are flat out...

Staff were not the nicest, food was far to over priced for what you get. My super was smaller than a curry chip and it took far to long to come near an hour. Not impresed which is sad because I loved this place when I was a kid.

Over priced. Fresh chicken fillet burger straight out the freezer re fried fish never again.

I ordered a cowboy supper on Friday evening the only thing eatable was the sausages the chips where hard and there was like 6 beans very disappointed

Love this chippy, would not go to any other!!!

Just ok but could be allot better. The chips are pricey at £3.10. The fish is expensive & not good. I found the batter hard & greasy. I was told that the fish is cooked up the day before then put back in the fridge to go cold & then reheated to order. Doing it this way is not good and causes the fish batter to become rock hard and leaves you with greasy taste. Any time I call in there is two ladies so I personally think Colin should train some of his staff to be able to do up freshly battered fish to order. This would make the fish taste allot better

Good quality food with ample portions. Service was good.

Speedy service is the high light. I was in and out in no time. Met by a very abrupt lady with not much personality behind counter. I asked for a cod? We only do whiting she said. I said uuugh! I took a jumbo battered sausage and a pastie. Was not bad. Not overly greasy but not great. Pastie smallish. Sausage typical processed type,mass produced for these places. I would go back if in the mood,but would not rush back.

Tried for first time tonight was ok ,chips nice,pastie nice chicken fillet burger a let down overdone deep fried breaded burger was looking forward to a freshly battered chicken fillet I also thought a bit on the pricy side £9.60 for a pastie supper and breaded chicken burger in bap.staff friendly enough..not sure would rush back have had better tbh

I have to agree with other posts on here, the chips are like egyptian relics but what can you do? I recently started using Colins again after one too many bad experiences with a certain chippy in Conlig. A first for me when they pulled a KFC and said they had no fish !!! Stick with Colins, at least they sell fish !!!

Got a fish supper with a few others today. It wasn't great. We have had lovely food before but the food has gone downhill. The extra chips were brown and dry, looked like they had been left from the night before and reheated Won't be going there again.

I was in on Saturday 17th no. It wasn't over busy I ordered a sausage supper for my son which I think I was charged £5:30. I live close so walked home and give my son his fish supper which was served in a burger box ( fair enough) when I saw the size of the portion I was surprised it was tiny..also the chips were all tail ends of the chips and the quality was terrible. I was very disappointed on this visit.if that's the quality they serve I won't be back.

This used to be our favourite chip shop in Bangor - called in last night after 9pm as the most other chip shops in Bangor close at 9pm. Definitely will not return - very over priced & small portions. Seemed to be an inconvenience to the staff!

Went today chips always good ten years ago I was bought a fish supper out of here the fish was vile I haven’t been brave enough to get another big Mina and girls always friendly and Colin

Well Colin's has been about for at least 30 years and I remember it as a young girl. On returning to live in Bangor I was shocked to see it still open..... one fish supper and onion rings later, I know why!! Still absolutely fabulous for a good old "fish supper" with lots of salt and vinegar 👍congratulations on staying consistent and great to be back

Dropped in on way back home - prices are good and the food is well prepared and unlike others they do give you a good few chips along with the dish you have ordered. It always has folk in it and that, to me, is a great sign!

Went with my 3 kids an hamster an there was a slug in my chips an a ear piercing in my kids meal was just looking for a nice place to treat the kids. p.s chips weren't even nice greasy aswell

Was a tad uncertain as it has had mixed reviews in the pastown but the food tonight was both excellent and veryou well priced - I will most certainly be back!

You know what it like you have Ben out working all day and you are a bit knackered and you can't be anoyed to make anything will today was that day and thank goodness for Colins the best chipy in Bangor. Trust me give it a go.

Colin's has been in Bangor forever!The food is great, the service is quick and courteous - what more could you want from a local chippy!Parking can be a bit dicey if the car-park across the road is full!However, worth running the gauntlet for!

I had the misfortune to visit this chippie for the first time tonight. I should have known something was up by the less than enthusiastic welcome from the staff on duty. No smiles, no please or thank you and very disinterested in taking my order. I pressed on anyway and ordered a sausage supper and a small chip. The staff took the order without comment and without stating the price (the overhead menu display did not show the prices). I waited for several minutes, after which time the staff decided to give me the price and asked if I wanted salt or vinegar. Thinking that my order was almost ready I asked for just salt on the sausage supper. However, they took my money and I had to wait a bit longer. Once again, no please, thank you or much of anything. After several more minutes they asked if "it was just the sausage supper only." I said yes, relieved that they'd remembered that. Nope. One of the staff went straight for the vinegar and lavashed it on. My reminder of salt only came just too late. When the staff made their mistake there was no "sorry" and certainly no offer to replace my order. Just a sour look and passive aggressive paper wrapping. I was also given a large chip instead of the small chip I ordered. I won't be returning. The food itself was poor. The sausages were sub-par and the chips bland in the extreme. All in all, I would recommend the management consider a name change to Colins Crap Food to give consumers a better idea of what they're in for.

Havn't used this chipshop for a while as bit out of my way but used to be nice, certainly won't rush back, ordered a fish supper and a pastie supper and curry and gravy, £14.40, bit expensive for a back street chippy, when i questioned the price the girl behind the counter snapped £6.80 for a fish supper, ok only asking!!! food wasn't brilliant and portions small for what your payin however half it went in the bin so portion size didn't really matter, 2 cups of tea washed the grease out of my mouth. disappointed and not be back

In Bangor for the afternoon called into get fish supper. Absolutely the worst fish I have had from a chippy in some time . Looks great at first until you get into it A slither of fish coated in a very very heavy batter. Rubbish! Certainly will never be back.

Saturday lazy dinner for us. Ordered 2 fish meals (too much batter on them)also 3 specials which are reasonably priced the staff were friendly and chatty although no hats and two people walked in off the road through the side door and chatted in their own clothes in a production area (big no no) the food itself was cooked ok and although I wasnt overly happy with the no hats and visitors,the food tasted good saved me cooking dinner for the tribe.

We called in slightly later in the evening about 10pm while on a drive, we got fish & chips The chips where mainly small bits, and the fish was over battered and soggy, The ladies behind the counter seamed more interested in organise there social life and debating with group of lads who where hanging around inside the shop. I watched with horror how one wiped her nose none stop on the back of her hand, I was so relieved she only microwaved our pea's. Which we just didn't touch them.

This used to be the best chip shop in bangor but standards have dropped recently.It seems that things are better when Colin the owner is on duty so maybe its all in the way each individual fries.Other than that service is always first class and staff are always pleasant
