Fabulous friendly pub with excellent staff. Good food and large portions. Well worth a visit when in Bangor.

First time customer, went with friends that live in Bangor they said great food, fantastic food, best I had in long while, all staff very friendly, when back over too Ireland will make certain we go back.

Had a lovely meal with friends. Staff are great. Lovely place.

We had the most beautiful lunch today in Donegans. We both had the Chinese chicken pitta. It was so tasty, followed by a trio of desserts (delicious). Staff were very friendly as always, service was quick, amazing value for money.

My hubby and myself where here last night for his birthday, food was exceptional, Staff where amazing especially Beth who went above and beyond to make his night special , Thank you all , Stevie and Diana Mount xx

Went for a Mother's day lunch today. The food was amazing and I was incredibly impressed with how friendly and welcoming the staff were. There's was a Welsh guy serving us and he is an absolute credit to the business, such good craic and a true professional. Will be back more often.

My wife and I had the most tasty refreshing lunch here today, lasagne was fantastic full of taste and meaty very clean and enjoyable, chicken pitta was out of this world really moist chicken soft fresh pitta real creamy slaw. Fries and onion rings on the side really clean cooking and very enjoyable, portions are spot on to. The service was excellent you want for nothing here, with all of that in mind your experience is enhanced with a great pint of Guinness. Can't wait to come back well worth every penny.

We had a lovely meal there on a busy Sunday

An excellent pub restaurant, we managed to get a table for two in this busy spot at short notice. The service was exceptional and the food arrived quickly and piping hot. This is a proper dinner, I struggled to clean my plate but it was so delicious on a winter night. I can't recommend this place highly enough, I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer any time I'm in town.

Can't fault this place, the food was great, the way the staff looked after the older generation was commendable, deserves a full board of stars. Well done, guys.

Food is delicious, generous portions, good value. Real ales on sale, a great IPA at the moment. Service is above and beyond. All the staff are friendly, kind and professional.

Excellent roast beef dinner, beef melt in the mouth, only thing that let meal down slightly was the Yorkshire pudding was rather overcooked. Hubby had lasagne which he also enjoyed. Make sure you are hungry when you go, as large portions 😊 We will be back as definitely recommend.

Amazing service. I phoned this place from Dundee, Scotland, asking if a gift voucher could be delivered to an address in Bangor. I couldn't believe it , the waiter kindly delivered after work tonight. Thank you so much waiter, and Amie and Paul

We visited Donegan’s for the first time on Saturday… and loved everything about it. The friendly bar staff were amazing,and raised a smile from us (and others) for their dancing behind the bar on Saturday night. There was also free music bingo on the Saturday night which was very enjoyable. In fact we liked the place so much we returned for Sunday lunch. I had a chicken stack, and my husband had the turkey and ham dinner. Both were delicious and very generously portioned. It was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last.

We just love going here for food and drinks! The food is always amazing and the staff are just so nice! Ivan is always so helpful and nothing is too much trouble! He always makes sure we have everything we need and will go the extra mile to help :)

We wandered in on the off chance of being able to snag a table and got lucky. The guy who seated us and mostly attended to us - Ivan - really helped make it a wonderful dining experience for us, even asking us if we wanted more sauce or veg. All the staff were lovely in fact. As for the food - we both had the O'Hara's Chicken and it was superb. Lovely spot, wonderful staff, and fantastic food.

I thoroughly enjoyed a Roast Dinner. My friend loved her Pasta dish with a creamy cheese sauce. The chef was kept very busy as they were packed. The service was exceptional without being over attentive. We finished off with s delicious Capuccino. Would not hesitate to return.

Popped in and got seated in bar promptly. Basic pub grub menu but portions very generous. Prawn cocktail was great. Lasagne came with garlic bread And a side of choice of potatoes….Would have preferred a choice of Sunday Roasts - only Beef option and No vegetarian option eg nut roast (just veg). Staff were excellent- checking we had drinks, food was okay etc.

As always Donegans never fails to impress. Warmly greeted by Ivan, Glenda and Amy. Wasn’t long before we were enjoying beautifully presented and delicious dishes of lasagne, scampi, and sausages and chips. Ivan even slipped us some onion rings. There are very few places in Bangor or indeed the rest of NI that provide such a hight standard of food AND service. Will be back soon

We booked at the last minute for a family get together and they went out of their way to fit us in. Could not have been better. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. We will definitely be back

After googling good places to eat in Bangor we read the reviews on this place and popped along. We loved the character of the place. The service by our waitress and waiter were just a real treat! We felt like we were special! So personable. We were treated to a taste of the soup of the day (chicken leak and potato) with a slice of Wheaten and oh my goodness! A cuddle in a cup! So delicious. I wanted to try Champ too and was not disappointed with my delicious choice of O’hara Chicken. My husband devoured the rib eye steak! Melt in the mouth! Honestly the tastiest food we have had in ages! They kindly let us take home our desserts which were gorgeous! As someone else wrote- I couldn’t believe the depth of the pavlova! My my! Absolutely loved our Donegan’s experience. Would definitely recommend!

This bar is very well situated on High Street close to Bangor Marina. It has an extensive menu and the food is excellent. Customer service is great with the staff being really friendly and welcoming. If in Bangor for business or pleasure I would recommend Donegans if you want a snack or something more filling. Prices are very reasonable by today's standards.

I don't write reviews though I had to on this occasion ,My family and I had a great time having a meal Donegan's I walked in off the street and they were able to accommodate us with the pram in tow with pleasure, rearranging chairs and helping us to position the pram into a suitable position the bar was by no means quiet, there was a good amount of happy looking punters so this was great they took the time to assist us , the great service didn't end there one of my girls who is autistic can be quite loud and chatty told the waiter that she was so happy about her little bottle of coke that said love on it he played along so well and proceeded to take her to speak to the manager about this glitch in the matrix , it was great she found herself another few bottles that said love and I havnt seen her so happy for a long time they gave us a bottle each for the children free of charge a great gesture everyone from the waiter and waitress to the manager were really excellent and it was a pleasure to be there, plus the food was awesome and everyone left satisfied what more could you want ... until we passed the sweet shop as expected on the way back to the train station definitely recommend

Went to the upstairs restaurant to start the celebrations for my wifes 70th birthday. The waiter, Ivan, is known to the family and was very attentive as he was to other diners. The standard of the food was excellent and the portions were more than adequate. I will definitely be back and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal

We ate lunch here on Sunday the 2nd July 2023. There was 10 of us and our table was pre booked. The food as usual was superb as was the level of service and attentiveness. Overall a wonderful lunch coming over from England to visit family. Highly recommend 👌

Had a beautiful family meal here. The food was fantastic and piping hot. The server couldn't do enough for the ten of us. I am coeliac and was catered for so well. I can honestly say this was the best Sunday lunch I have had. Highly recommended by all of us.

Wee catch up lunch today for 7 people. Each one ordered something different from the menu and every dish a hit...especially the Caribbean curry..we all had to have a taste 😋. Excellent service from Ivan and the guys..they never fail to deliver an amazing dining...

Came here early yesterday evening (May 26) for something to eat. Staff were lovely and very helpful, had the fish & chips, it was the nicest fish I've ever had! Chips were nice and crispy, would definitely recommend.

Been to Donegan’s many, many times as your Always Guaranteed the most gorgeous meal. The food is superb & I’ve Never had a bad meal, or even an ok meal ever! We’ve actually been going a lot more often lately as the Sunday Roasts are to die for & a simply Must Go experience for the Roast Beef is just somethin else! As for the Staff, excellent, totally 1st Class & always at hand to make sure your experience there is a good one! All the staff are lovely, but Ivan, oh boy he’s just something else. He’s always on the ball & on top of everything. You just know that he’s been in the restaurant trade for such a long time. Donegan’s just simply, wouldn’t be the same without him!! We’re going to start the New Year of with a bang, and book for Sunday Lunch this coming Sunday for it’s a Must!
