Edinbane Inn Restaurant in Highland

Food was nice but nothing special and certainly not worth the price tag. This was our first meal out from our camping trip and we were left feeling very disappointed and out of pocket. Six of us ate, 4 adults and 2 kids, we shared starters and puddings and it still cost us over £200! Service was terrible and the atmosphere was non existent! Food portions were mediocre and certainly not worthy of the cost! Local taxi driver was great but said he hasn’t been in there in years as it’s no longer local and just aimed at the tourist market. Such a shame for the locals. If you want proper Scotland this isn’t it!

Their web site gives the impression of a fine country inn serving gourmet-quality food. It’s not quite that - geez, folks, redo your lighting! Looks like a Mom-and-Pop restaurant back home - but we had a good dinner and a nice white Rioja. The hummus appetizer was good. My wife enjoyed the haddock, said it was very fresh. My beef featherblade was also tasty. I’d never had this cut of beef before. The service was … interesting. Our server, a stout fellow, said very little and barely cracked a smile the entire meal. He talked and laughed with patrons at a nearby table. Probably regulars. Didn’t exactly feel welcomed.

Great spot a bit of a walk from our campsite 1.2miles but worth it. Very homely place with a good menu . Large portions and helpful friendly staff . The American couple from Vermont on the table next to us even gave us a lif5 back to the campsite the place had that friendly vibe good food friendly staff what more do you need.

Went to the Inn for dinner based on earlier reviews. I was rather disappointed to be honest. We were seated right by the door, which wasn't a good start, even though there was only one other couple seated when we arrived. No real ambience, no Specials and I thought the food was just good pub food rather than restaurant. Price was alright though. Have to buck the trend here and say I was underwhelmed.

Edinbane Inn is a great place to stay. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Good breakfast, good evening meal and helpful friendly staff. Great value for money 😀

Das Lokal ist eine nette Abwechslung zu dem Essen, dass man sonst so bekommt in Schottland. Die Küche ist eher gehoben und etwas teurer aber, der selbstgemachtge Hummus war sehr gut. Die Hauptspeisen waren sehr lecker, da alles sehr gut aussah und noch besser schmeckte. Die Kellner gaben Empfehlung auf Nachfrage. Die Nachspeise waren auch sehr lecker und wir sind froh dort gewesen zu sein. Man bekommt mit viel Glück einen Tisch ohne Reservierung so gegen 17:30 Uhr, aber ab 19 Uhr hat man ohne Reservierung leider kein Glück.

I had dinner at the Edinbane Inn - Hummus as Starter then Mussels (great sauce) - then I tried the special dessert: Panna Cotta with Talisker. Wow, smokey taste, that dessert blew me away. Dinner was already great but the dessert was mind blowing. If you pass by, try it!!

Ein wunderbares Inn mit großen, hellen Zimmern, einem leckeren, vielfältigen Frühstück und ganz hervorragender Abendkarte. Von außen sieht es vielleicht etwas gewöhnlich aus, aber sobald man das Inn betritt, wird man von warmherzigen, hilfsbereiten Menschen begrüßt, die ihren Job mit Wissen und Liebe machen. Sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen gern wieder!

Great evening, waitressing attentive and friendly, food really nice especially the squid. Mum wants to go agin just so she can have that again. Also, background music not too loud, something that we really appreciate when one of the party has hearing issues. All in all a great night out. We will go again definitely.

Wonderful Inn in the village if Edinbane which was a shirt drive from our B and B in Dunvegan. The Fish and Chips was excellent and the sticky pudding was to die for. Service was superb. Would strongly recommend eating here.

Amazing food and service from Claire at both our visits to the Inn. We were staying nearby and booked our table each time. We can recommend the mussels, pulled pork pie, beef, sticky toffee pudding & crumble. Friendly, personable service from Claire every time a real example of exemplary customer service a huge asset to the Inn. Great dinner! They accommodated us earlier than our reservation time. The starters and mains were all excellent! Service was prompt and consistent. We enjoyed the hummus, fish and chips, venison burger, and shredded pork pie. Definitely one of our best meals! It was worth the drive and reserving in advance. Thank you!

We booked for a dinner at 7.00 pm. At 6pm we had a problem, we asked to change the timing of the dinner to 8.30 pm and they satisfied out request. Unfortunatly we had another problem with the car and we couldn't go to the restaurant...Just to say that they were very kind and gave us prompt reply to our requests...thanks a lot again: next time we'll come ti Skye Isle, we Will surely come to eat in your restaurant!!! We ate here on 9th Sept followimg a recommendation from our holiday cottage. We visited for their Sunday roast lunch, and all 4 adults in the group went for the roast beef which came with the usual trimmings. We also had some mussels to start and tried out a few of their desserts afterwards. The food was excellent. Everything was enjoyable, but the roast beef itself was the highlight - as it should be! They did have a kids menu as well, for our little ones.For our group of 4 adults and 4 young kids, our bill came to £170 including tip, of which £20 was spent on drinks. A very indulgent, enjoyable meal, and one of the favourites from our trip.

Our second meal on Skye and Edinbane Inn failed to disappoint! We ordered the black pudding to start which was delicious. I had the hake which was cooked to perfection and my husband thoroughly enjoined the venison burger. To finish we shared a sticky toffee putting which was huge! We will most certainly be back!

I had steak which was cooked to my perfection. Couldn't fault the service and Covid restrictions were well in place. The menu was varied, catering for most tastes. The apple crumble delicious & sticky toffee pud. The first visit we booked as we had been on the boat trip to St. Kilda but the 2nd visit return we were able to book at short notice that day but early (5pm). Booking is recommended.

Small, 5-bedroomed inn in the village of Edinbane. Excellent menu. The chef really trying out his/her skills. Great Skye black pudding and fresh scallops. Marvellous invention of a hand raised pork belly pie….a real winner. Wine etc at very reasonable prices. Comfy rooms and very clean. Beware of the midges!

Booked Edinbane Inn for Sunday lunch well in advance of our visit to Skye. The restaurant is popular and so advance booking recommended especially in the summer!Booking process was very easy, online with a reminder issued by email a few days before.On arrival, felt very safe (Covid). Tables well spaced out. Track and trace, masks and social distancing respected. Sunday lunch was delicious. The roast beef was lovely and just melted in your mouth! Desserts were delicious too with very generous portions! Good selection of local craft ales.

Had dinner here recently and its as good as others say it is. Had the mussels starter followed by Hake....excellent food, well prepared, tasty and served by the staff well. For two with beers it came to 70 GBP so value for money.

We visited during COVID restrictions when tables were still very spaced out, and on a Monday night. It was fully booked but I think the atmosphere suffered slightly.The food was delicious showing off the best of Scotland's resources. There was a good choice and we were all very happy with our choices.It's dog-friendly too.

The food was very tasty. However, the wine wasn't great.Also, the menu doesn't have much choice, which makes it hard for us vegetarians.In Skye you have to book in advance or you won't find anywhere to eat. This was the only option available to us as everywhere else was booked!They made a mistake bringing a meat burger instead of a veggie one but thankfully I noticed before hubby started eating it. The lovely young lady who made the mistake was very apologetic and they took one glass of wine off the final bill.I have to say that we had a road trip throughout Scotland and this was the only place where we were bitten by midges... my arms were covered in bites when we left.

Despite having to book many days ahead to get a table (probably not helped by COVID restrictions), it was worth the wait. Couldn't fault either the food, the setting or the service. Food was delicious - between us (family of 5), we had mussels, squid, pie and hake. Clean plates all round. Not a cheap meal but value for money.

I loved my hake dish, possibly best main meal I’ve had in a very long time.My husband had steak, chips with mushrooms, steak he said wasn’t great and everything was extremely salty, mushrooms ‘pickled’ they were so salty!Tasted like it had been salted twice? Strangely the woman at the bar, shouted across the room as we entered which I thought was a bit inappropriate, then of course was unable to hear my response, as I had to walk over to her whilst she was getting drinks behind the bar. A touch rude I felt.

The food here was so good that we returned for a second night and it would have been a third if we didn’t have another reservation elsewhere. Every single dish looked and tasted amazing: soup, pie, calamari, hummus, cod, brownie, panacota … could not fault any of it. Portions were large, prices were reasonable and the staff were extremely attentive. A must visit!

We arrived early in hope they could squeeze us (a table of 8) in before our actual booking. They couldn't have been more accommodating and got us sat together. Service was speedy and friendly. Their own ale is a must, wish you could buy this to take home a very smooth and refreshing drink! Between the 8 of us we sampled a lot of the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Personally I had the hummus, flatbread was to die for! The lentil burger was super tasty too. I pinched some of my husbands pork pie too and it was delicious. Portions were very generous that we were defeated and couldn't manage a dessert sadly. A good excuse to go back!!

We stayed in a local cottage as part of our UK honeymoon, and had the absolute pleasure of visiting Edinbane Inn one evening. We were absolutely blown away! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the location is perfect and it has a great atmosphere, but my god, if you enjoy food, you will be in heaven! The scallops were out of this world, but every single dish was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area

Location was good as I was staying at the campsite about a mile away. Easy to walk to. Had to book ahead but it was worth the wait. Ample portion sizes and I really enjoyed the soup followed by venison burger. Helpful staff and friendly atmosphere.

Well a very particular menu with little to no choice.Partner struggled to pick anything from starter choices- resorted to the black pudding without any of the over complicated additions- he was then literally served 2 slices of black pudding and charged the full £8.50. That’s a whopping £4.25 a slice. He then ordered the fish and chips- which we wrongly thought he couldn’t go wrong with... well we thought wrong. As he began to taste it he realised it wasn’t great, in fact it can only be described as pure mush he could barely pick it up. Majority was left.My Cullen Skink soup and venison burger was nice. Overall the staff and actual restaurant is lovely. The menu drags this place down badly! It definitely must put potential customers off before they’ve even set foot in the door which is a real shame as it’s got great potential.The menu would benefit from a complete revamp. Homely dishes could be added and done well. What’s so bad with Haggis Bon Bon’s, Patè, Crumb Coated Chicken and for mains good old fashioned Macaroni, Steak Pie, Chicken Ballotine or a roast dinner.

This country inn has an unusual feel about it , not restaurant not pub , it has lots of rooms & snugs all in a tasteful Scottish decor .The menu & food was really excellent and they managed to cope incredibly well with a power cut in the middle of our meal . Never had such delicious scallops all a decent size too so price tag definitely worth it .The welcome on arrival wasn’t exactly what you would call a ‘welcome ‘ as the man at the bar took his time to acknowledge us which was disappointing, otherwise a very enjoyable evening and can recommend .

When we looked at the menu online we wanted to cancel our booking but we were so glad we didn't. For starters I had the Hummus with homemade pita bread and my partner had the special scallops with a butternut and tomato salsa - so tasty. For mains I had the venison burger which was delicious and the sirloin steak for my partner we thought was a bit overpriced but it was a prime cut and prepared to perfection. The highlight of my meal was the Whiskey Panna Cota - so smooth and then added to that a raspberry sorbet - mouth watering. Please try it! My best dessert in recent years and definitely a master chef at work here.

We were staying close at the Skye camping and caravan site and took the bus down to the inn. Was a great restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and met with great service. All courses were excellent with locally sourced produce on the menu. The Raasay squid was tremendous. Lovely local ale and great selection of local gins. Great little child’s menu for our 6 year old. About an half an hour lovely walk back to the site. Highly recommended.

Yes, well worth a visit but you’ll need to book. Good food and excellent efficient and friendly service. Also, dog friendly which was a big plus for us. Highly recommended.
