Amazingly fabulous meal... as usual, when we visit this wonderful restaurant. The staff, the meal and the ambiance of Etzio's is just so amazing. A treasure of a place in little old Whitchurch. Treat yourself - you won't be disappointed!! Great value too!! Thank you Etzio's for being so fabulous and so local. Book well in advance though....

Four of us visited Etzio for dinner last night. Amazing, authentic Italian cuisine. The atmosphere was so welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Whitchurch is so fortunate to have this excellent restaurant on Highstreet. Definitely worth visiting! Very inexpensive for the 5 star menu. Book in advance! We look forward to our next visit!

Traditional Italian food not hyped up to be a luxury dining experience as many Italians in our area try to be . Excellent menu choice , with incredible value combined with friendly efficient service from all the staff and owners not forgetting great tasting authentic dishes. We endorse previous reviews that this is the best Italian restaurant we have been to in the UK and we have some valid experience given we have been to Italy over 40 time in the last 25 years. Congratulations to all at Etzios.

Fantastic ! Two course lunch for four, a bottle of Merlot and a peroni all for £86. Food was probably the best Italian I’ve had for years.? Thankyou Etzio , we will soon be returning.

I always look forward to a meal at Etzio as the food is consistent and tasty, while the welcome from Jo is so friendly; my latest visit was no exception, chicken liver pate followed by breast of free range chicken cacciatore; the sauce was so delicious that I had to ask for a spoon to mop it up. It really is an exceptionally good restaurant and residents of Whitchurch are lucky to have it in their town.

Very good meal served nice and hot,there was plenty of choice food presented every well and all staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended best to book.

I just had to write a review about Etzios. It was our 4th visit and we were having a birthday celebration. I can honestly say from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble. The staff are all so friendly, service impeccable and the food...well...we could not fault it in any way. Absolutely delicious and satisfying . You really are the best 👌 and we can't wait to return. We were here for a birthday celebration and a group of four. We unfortunalely arrived late for our booking but the staff were un-phased and welcoming. We chose from the lunch special menu and the portions were generous, freshly prepared and delicious. We also had desserts which were yummy and so much choice too. When I produced a birthday cake the staff were happy to bring plates and knife etc for us. The staff were lovely and the excellent food speaks for itself. My first visit but not my last!

Just wow from start to finish! Visited with my husband for my birthday at lunchtime. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time. The food, the team, the surroundings exceeded all expectation. We chose a pasta dish from the excellent value lunch menu which included a drink. The other menus offer an extensive choice. There is a reason you need to book! We would love to come back and bring family and friends despite being a 50 mile round trip

What an absolute delight and pleasure to be able to return to Etzio and find that absolutely nothing has altered, and why should it, it's just perfect as it is which is why you need to book well in advance. On walking in you are greeted by friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble, the atmosphere is always amazing with low background music with an Italian theme and this is before you get to devour their menu. We have worked our way through the menu over the years and everything has been absolute perfection so this time a little 'off-piste' and went for one of the the Chef Specials on offer, the Crayfish & Prawn starter and the Lobster Ravioli . Beautifully presented with a small salad of pea shoots & leaves, and some warm toast the starter was absolutely beautiful, the flavours mixed with the home made 'marie rose', just perfection. BUT the lobster, goodness me, I could have licked the plate with the wonderfully rounded sauce which when finished off with a little prosecco just gave it that extra 'pizzazz'. Oh, maybe I should mention my husband's pizza who commented that "It was most definitely the best he has ever had" and that's because their pizza's are done in the Rome Style, Light, crispy and once again with an amazing choice of toppings - definitely no soggy bottom pizza's here. Always an amazing experience and absolute pleasure to eat here, one for everyone's 'bucket list'. Well done once again to Jo, Claudio and the Team at Etzio.

I booked for my birthday because so many friends had told me it is impossible to get a table if you don't book prior, I understand why now because Etzio's the food was amazing! The atmosphere was just beautiful and so comfortable, staff helpful and easy to get on with. The FOOD was unbeatable and was truly delicious, we are now rebooking for the next couple of months in fact throughout the year. Thank you so, so much 😊

The reviews speak for themselves. “I have visited Italy many times before and the food at Etzio’s is even better.” If you really want to try somewhere extremely special and you want your tastebuds to fall in love with food again. Then this is the place to eat. I promise you; you will not be disappointed. I have been a loyal customer at Etzios for a good few years now and it just keeps getting better and better. The food is fresh, hot, tasty, and made beautifully. Homemade fresh pasta – YES PLEASE! The head chef and owner is Italian, and you can see when your dish is served, he puts his heart and soul into everything he does. The love and passion can be seen on every plate. You will leave feeling full, extremely satisfied, and happy. However my favourite part of Etzio’s is the female owner (do not want to mention her name due to Data protection). She is pure sunshine. When you meet her, she feels like a long-lost aunty, and you have just been invited to her home in Tuscany. You feel so relaxed and welcome once you enter those doors (Her hugs are amazing also). She is an incredibly special lady, and she makes the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are outstanding, and I know I will be a customer for many years to come. I was fortunate to eat at Etzio’s twice before Christmas, both occasions for lunch and with friends. This restaurant is extremely busy at the best of times but it’s literally heaving at Christmas time. The staff work so hard and it always amazes me that there’s always a really warm welcome, despite how busy they are, the food is always consistently fantastically delicious and the service levels never drop. If I could give the restaurant 11/10, I truly would. If anyone were ever to tell me that they’ve had a bad meal at Etzio’s, I’d have to assume that they were either too difficult to please or they were suffering from some form of disillusionment and should seek help :). I’ve not had a bad meal in there in 10 years and I can only congratulate them and long may this no 1 restaurant in Whitchurch reign supreme! :) Thank you and wishing Jo and her amazing team all the very best for 2024. Best Italian restaurant in the UK. If you want a traditional style Italian meal with the whole experience feeling like you’ve been transported to the ‘Boot’, then get yourself to Etzio in Whitchurch. The greeting from the staff, the menu, the service are all just excellent. But then there’s the food! It really is a delight. Etzio is always busy, so you must book. But it’s worth the wait. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable.

Etzios is quite simply the best place to eat out. They offer fabulous food in a relaxed and homely dining area which I love. It's that good we go every month for lunch.

Absolute Banger , we only pay 15.95 for a starter and a main course , very bloody cheap. The calamari they gave plenty and everything is prefect portion never too less . Will bookmark this place for the rest of my life , definitely will come back again

There's nowhere as good in my opinion ...in The World!! We are regulars I admit, but yesterday we met up with Cheshire friends and had the best meal we've had out together in a long time. As pointed out above Food, Service and Atmosphere are all FIVE STARS 🤩. Trying to book a table for either Lunch or Dinner..is testament in itself ...try it 😜

Just excellent. Unhurried and really good. Highly recommended. In fact so good I had to go back for lunch the next day. If I lived in near Whitchurch I'd have to go once a month at the least. Addendum. Four years later. Again, a lovely lunch for two. Excellent service lovely selection of meals, and not just the usual. Tagliatelle al gamberi was wonderful. No sense of hurry. A lovely relaxed lunch experience and one we will certainly repeat when next we are in Whitchurch. One well worth travelling for.

Amazing atmosphere, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and lovely food. A real gem in Whitchurch and definitely worth a visit - if you can get a table that is! The owner was around the night we visited and after noticing we didn't eat all of our desserts (the flavour profile didn't really work for us), they immediately offered half off and would not accept a tip. Very reasonably priced also.

Wonderful food and lovely team. The food is clearly made with care and everything was fantastic. I had the veal with Parma ham and white wine butter sauce, and it was amazing. Stopped in Whitchurch enroute North and were very pleased to find Etzio lived up to its reputation. We were made welcome & found a table despite being fully booked. The lobster pasta parcels were delicious and we were tempted into a tiramisu with coffee icecream. Jo was very friendly without intruding, I'd highly reccomend to locals and travellers.

Thanks to Jo and the team for a wonderful dinner. My wife is currently on a FOD diet to work out what her food intolerance is. This means none of the normal stuff such as gluten and dairy but also odd stuff too like onion, garlic, apricots etc. The team at Etzio'd were able to alter the dishes to fit. We had a lovely night and most importantly the next day no sign of any reactions.

It was all very nice! Good service. We had Rump Lamb with a special sauce, delicious but we would have liked a few more potatoes and veg on the plate. We would come again, no worry. If you need some advice on sticky toffee pudding please contact us.

Etzio is a gem! The food was exceptional, a lovely atmosphere to eat in. I wish we had Etzio where we live in France!

We had been meaning to go for ages and came for my birthday. I ordered ‘pan seared king scallops and peeled king prawns served with a tomato garlic and chilli and sauce finished with Prosecco and cream served with saffron risotto’ and I thought ,”ok so there will be a couple of scallops, a few king prawns and a whole lot of risotto”. How wrong I was! 5 large and beautifully cooked scallops, many king prawns and a stunning sauce - I could barely see the risotto. Absolutely delicious and terrific value for money. We had other dishes too such as starters and another main which were equally fabulous. What a great restaurant!

After our first visit, this is now one of our absolute favourites - for ambience, lovely staff, excellent food, generosity (if you have the calzone, arrange to share it!) and unbeatable value for money. Our three courses for two people, with wine and beer, was less than £50; it would have been superb value at £60.

Last minute impulse takeaway on a Sunday lunchtime. The lovely lady on the phone was accommodating and helpful. Food was delicious and would definitely recommend!

We went for valentines day last week and had a fantastic meal! We both had two courses for £12.95 (I think) and it was delicious I was just sorry I couldn't eat it all! Great atmosphere with a roaring fire and friendly staff. Even on such a busy day we didn't feel rushed and had time to relax and enjoy our meal.

I had a takeaway meal not that good the main meal was very dry had 2 portions of chips I could count on one hand how many full chips we had the rest was small crispy bits the garlic bread was hard we also had a burger which was ok was not worth £40.00 will not be going back

Had a meal here last night was nice not the best meal I've had but nice not a great wine selection for a Italian restaurant but I will say I was blown away by how cheap this place is no wonder why it's always fully booked 2 course for £12.95 and lunch menu £6.95 with a glass of alcohol I think your selling your self's short if I'm honest

Found Etzio purely by chance and what a find it was. How they produce the quality of food for the price is beyond me. All three course's were excellent as we're the staff. Can't recommend Etzio highly enough. Luckily we live relatively close so will certainly be back. If you are near Whitchurch give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

It’s taken 5 1/2 years to return back to Etzios and it was well worth the wait. We were lucky to get a last minute table and I can honestly say we had such a wonderful evening. I was taken here a couple of weeks ago by my niece, who had come across this wonderful little Italian previously. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the place, the staff were fantastic, so warm and welcoming, and the food was quite frankly the best I've had for a very long time! Everything was fresh, cooked from scratch and delicious, and it was incredibly reasonable too! I wouldn't hesitate to go back, and will highly recommend to anyone!!

OMG! I love everything about this place! Maybe because I love Italy, Italians, fine italian dining, vine and on the top of this.....music! This place has it all. The warm welcome atmosphere when you walk in, kind, approchable, bubbly owners, decor, fabulous menu and most importantly food. I have always had an amazing food, never left disappointed. Everything has always met my expectations. Happened that once or twice we had to wait longer for our food, but we were always told that in advance. The dining experience last long in Etzio's, but we go there for experience to enjoy good quality food cooked with passion not to eat fast and go, for that it's Mcdonald! We always enjoy out time in Etzio's and we will be for as long as they will trade. I will never get people who complain about the food on the social media. Did they have not tongue in the mouth to say to the owners at that night so the mistake could easily be fixed? Honestly, they always come ask for our experience and that's very important. Thank you Etzio's!
