Giacopazzi's in Scottish Borders

Great Food and atmosphere. Gluten free fish and chips where the best I've ever had. Very attentive to my needs as a coeliac :-)

We go to Giacopazzi's on our annual visit to Eyemouth and it can be hit or miss in terms of service. We visited again in October and couldn't fault it. Food was very nice and the service was great. We rang and booked a table the night before and also ordered the make your own pizza kit for our daughter. The food is a little bit expensive compared to local fish and chip shops but it is a restaurant so it is to be expected. I was worried that with the loss of Mackay's in the area the quality and service of Giacopazzis would suffer due to not having any competition but I am glad to say this is not the case.

Ordered 3 takeaway pizzas from here, really good gluten free options. Felt the price was a bit expensive for how much topping you got. £2 extra for GF base then £1 extra for an extra topping. I had chicken and ham and have to say the toppings were sparse. The pizza itself was tasty however thought £12.95 was quite expensive. Would probably return if I fancied pizza again but would like the option to pay in cash rather than card over the phone.

This place is horrible. Was served by three staff and all were ridiculously unfriendly. I honestly wouldn't return to this place. The young person in the ice cream parlour with blonde hair, couldn't smile and barely opened his mouth - disgusting. The two women in the fish and chip were horrible to my wife and I, and the two customers in front of us. The man who served us caused confusion and then started to blame us. Whoever owns this business may want to train their staff.

Had fish and chips twice whilst staying here, lovely and fresh, fish was amazing! Portions really generous. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Stopped here with family on the Saturday night of our caravan break in Berwick. The queue for a takeaway was out the door - always a good sign in my opinion. We had originally tried to get a table in the restaurant (word of advice - book well in advance, as it was full to the brim). We all chose the Fish Supper, obviously, with a few additional items thrown in of course (Mushy Peas, Curry Sauces etc). It was lovely enjoying the food in the seated area across the road (albeit we were terrorised by Seagulls from the off). The Fish flaked away and the Batter was crispy - the portion was generous. However, it fell short of a 5/5 as I still don’t think it compares to MacKays, who are not in operation now unfortunately. As Chippy’s go I do still think that this business ranks up there, as the quality and fair pricing is clear to see.

Sorry to write this as I’ve worked here few years ago!! Absolutely loved this place THEN. That’s where it ends. So sorry not to see Bev behind the counter, although to see Sharon was nice. Service left a lot to be desired, wasn’t friendly or welcoming at all. Handed food and counter woman just walked away!! No thankyou, no hope you enjoy your meal, NOTHING!! What a difference a few years make!! Well seeing you have no competition now. Afraid to say this will be the last visit. Such a shame.

Lovely warm place, nice coffee and the ice cream was exceptional. Staff helpful and locking up the bikes was easy

We seen the que. And thought it was a good chip shop. No price board outside. So went in ordered two portions of chips. We were CHARGED £3.70 per PORTION. Then we had to wait outside on the road for our order. When we got them you were lucky if they used more than one potato each. And they weren't NICE. Had better chips from were we live. A proper rip off. Plus it's the only chip shop in eyemouth. Will not go back to this chip shop.

Just had a takeaway from here, the white pudding is absolutely awful, full of large pieces of barley, none of the kids could eat it.

Fantastic value for money and the best Fish & Chips we have had in a long time. Lovely, friendly hardworking staff to whom nothing is a bother.

Visited for coffee, cake and ice cream. Lovely young staff, good choice and the best coffee I've had for ages. The kids loved their ice creams and it was very pleasant sitting outside in the new sitting area overlooking the harbour.

This is without any doubt the best fish and chip shop in the universe. If you are fortunate enough to get a seat and enjoy the superb Haddock and Chips, you are already in heaven... If they're not too busy and you can get a pint of draught IPA from upstairs..... you've just had an upgrade!!! Simply the best... Steve xx

We had fish and chips from here. It is all freshly made and was piping hot. The portions are massive. The ice cream is gorgeous. Proper creamy ice cream and my wee dog especially loved it. Brought a tub home of the vanilla and tablet for my parents. They loved it. All great value for money.

Well known for its fish, chips and ice cream. We visited this chippy on Saturday night and what a nightmare. Stood in a relatively small queue outside about 6 people for just over 20 minutes which was expected. It was a cold windy night so not the best day to be stood outside. After ordering the food, nothing exciting 2 fish suppers .... we were then told to wait outside again. 45 minutes after ordering I asked how long it would be. By now the queue outside of people waiting to order was over 20 deep and 7 people had ordered. I was told it would be a couple of minutes so I waited again. In total my overall wait was 1hr 20 minutes. I did say to the lady on the till it might be an idea to explain to the queue how long it was going to take. Give people the option of going elsewhere but nothing was said. On paying for my food we opened it to find not very fresh fish I would say probably one of the worst we’ve had. Extremely disappointing food and far worse customer service. Nobody minds waiting a reasonable amount of time but that was shocking. A hint for the lady with the red/brown Bob ..... please don’t keep pushing your hair behind your ears and then touching the food with your bare hands. Not very hygienic!!!

Appreciated freshly made fish suppers, which were piping hot! The prices are rather high considering we had takeway (over £17) for 2 cod suppers. We also found the batter slightly thick and greasy but this may be personal preferece. The biggest shock was that only a few of the staff behind the counter were wearing face masks!! The woman who served us had the mask under her chin, this did make us feel rather uncomfortable considering we were inside and had our masks on. Next time will stick to ice cream or go elsewhere for hot food.
