Expensive and good service. Dessert is a bit disappointing.

I rarely leave a bad review on restaurants for a few reasons, this is just a reminder to all vegans: French restaurants aren’t for vegans. This restaurant offers vegan menu for 3-course lunch, but I think they should stop offering it if they wouldn’t make any effort on the vegan dishes. To start with, the serving staff served bread with “Anchovy Butter” when they knew that we ordered vegan course meal. They did not ask if we were allergic to any food before serving (most restaurants ask this). After exchanging a few words with the manager, it sounded like they understand “vegan” as “non meat”. Saying this, I am now wondering if my vegan starter “Veloute” had dairy cream in it. 🤔 The stuffing of Bell Pepper for the starter is basically same as the content of Ratatouille for the main. Plating was also lazy, all sprinkled with watercress, even on the Fruit Salad (dessert). I strongly suggest that the restaurant removes the vegan options from their menu. P.S. Others around us having meat dishes incl Foie Gras and Roast Beef looked happy.

Went to Le Vacherin for a birthday party 4 adults and a three year old. Lovely food, service perfect, felt spoilt. Will definitely return in the very near future. Wonderful.

We noticed mid meal that other tables were being offered a different menu to ours, on enquiring it turns out that there was an Open Table menu that we should have been offered. Discretionary Service was not added in recompense. My partners main course was very disappointing as he had enquired from our waiter about how the lambs tongue was presented in the dish. Only to find the dish was a very sweet pizza like vegetarian dish that he found inedible.

A lovely quiet restaurant with wonderful unobtrusive service and old fashioned courtesy. We had the cod and Guinea fowl respectively followed by the tarte tatin all of which were delicious and showed accomplished cooking at its best. Great wines and they got us a taxi for our return home . Hope to be back soon.

Food was excellent, service was very good when they came around but found they were quite busy so not sure if possibly understaffed for the number of customers. Overall a very good experience.

Great attentive service. The food was a little underwhelming. The hollandaise was thin and needed seasoning. The use of puff pastry remains a curious choice in good restaurants also.

Brilliant in the past during the week but Sunday was a disappointment. Roast beef cut far too thin therefore very small portion. Gravy poured on when it should have been served on the side. Escargots very good but they need to purchase new ‘tongs’ as theirs do do hold the shells steady. My husband gave up after struggling with 2/6.

The rabbit dish not very good. Crème anglaise too thick for an Ile Flottante. Fillet steak excellent as was the Chinon.

Absolutely beautiful lunch on Saturday, the food was sublime along with amazing service from Mariana. The cheese soufflé was a popular choice that day and I can see why. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner, amazing atmosphere, attentive service and excellent food. Muscadet was divine. Shame two desserts weren’t available, prune and Armagnac tart (my favourite) and rum baba (husband’s favourite) so we had desserts at home. There is a spelling mistake for Picpoul on the wine list, a tiny detail but something for the management to look into.

Always lovely to visit this little gem in Chiswick. It is tucked away from the High Street but well worth the visit.

My life would be much sadder and lonelier without this place. This is the kind of restaurant where you come when you are having a tough day. The food warms your heart and the personnel treats you always to a smile. It feels like a family. And the food is definitely worth the trip.

I am always amazed at how this place can be easy going but with very attentive and elegant service! The manager (Marco) amd the staff are always on point. Paid that with food to die for.. well presented and delicious. I have been a few times already… i will be back a few more.

My Wife booked Le Vacherin via Groupon. What a lovely place it is. We were very well looked after and the food was excellent and very tasty. The service was second to none. Great atmosphere and attention to detail was not spared. The two waiting staff made us feel like we were at the Ritz. They really know their trade. The house wines (a vermentino and a merlot grenache) were the nicest house wines that I have ever tasted. I will one day return. Thank you.

Have recently changed menu ( Groupon) .Had really wonderful meal there on Sunday. Cheese souffle, superb, coq au vin was delicious, followed by amazing desert. Would give 5/5, if not for overbearing and intimidating male manager. The service is fabulous, polite and prompt but it is very off putting to hear staff being corrected in quite a rude manner over very minimal things that were not even noticed by diners? Standards, of course should be maintained but we did not care for his bullying manner and made us all feel quite uncomfortable. Will return and if said person not there will give 5/5.

Great service but an appalling meal - red mullet came out cold. The short rib was just fat (no meat) which would have been quite apparent to whomever plated it up. We won’t be returning.

We tried Open Table experience option. Very good restaurant if you want to enjoy conversation with your party - no loud music and exceptional service. The food is traditional French cuisine - tasty and reliable. 5 courses is a lot, so if you are not a big eater go a la Carte.

On the recommendation of a very foodie friend I took my wife for her birthday. Oh my Lord I wish we had found this place before. Absolutely delicious food 😋 We started with scallops and Gazpacho, followed by cod, chicken and dauphinois. As tasty as it can get. We had a bottle of Pinot Blanc with our meal, and it was totally worth it! Friendly and classy atmosphere with very kind and organised staff, our waitress was always on point and never too much. We had a wonderful time so we are definitely going back 😉

This was our third time coming to Le Vacherine together with mom. First two times we came for the set menu and were satisfied. This time we had à la carte. General feeling of the restaurant is warm and welcoming: attractive classic decor, clean and with the loveliest staff. Especially we were touched by professionalism and sweetness of Marianna. Now to the food. Overall it was a bit overpriced. We were very happy with the main course, cod and halibut and crème brûlée for dessert. But the scallops for appetizer were bland. The biggest disappointment was soufflé. 19£?! We ordered it anyway since it is mom’s favorite but what came… I am still in shock, sour, grainy. Just awful. Please adjust the price and taste on the soufflé. It was very disappointing. We will come back again to the restaurant but probably for the set menu.

Overall it was just average. We were not greeted at the door we had to find someone who was less than friendly when we did find them. We were only handed the a la carte menu and had to ask for the price fixe menu, I hate it when restaurants do that, if you have a menu provide it to guests. It feels so underhand. The service was very slow and unfriendly throughout the night. Food was okish but very expensive for what it was. Restaurant itself was nice.

My son got me a gift for father's day to come to have lunch here. Very pleased with their service and food. Thanks.

French cuisine presented impressively. The service could do with some finessing. If you have just filled all the water glasses, why immediately ask if I want another bottle? Ask me if I want red wine before you pour it. That's courteous service. You may as well ask me 'do you want fries with that?'. At a place like this, I expect classier.

My partner and I visited Le Vacherin Chiswick this evening. Claire and Faras our waiter & waitress were superb, and the food was on par with all of the reviews I had read prior to booking. Although the maître de was pleasant to us, she began reprimanding the waiter Faras who had provided a friendly and polite service to us, for not learning / understanding the menu properly. Later she took him into the back and continued telling him in an extremely loud raised voice how terrible his workmanship has been, which I found unnecessary and unprofessional with customers present who are paying for a fine dining experience: It wouldn’t put me off returning, however I’m hoping someone will read this & ensure if there are problems with employees they are presenter in a calmer and more constructive manner where lessons can be learnt and customers are not adversely affected. Hats off to the chef for being patient with us wanting space between our starter & main courses 😊

简直太爱这家法式餐厅了！餐厅外面就很简约高级，里面装修非常有品味，装饰画墙壁和桌椅搭配都很有风格。 所有菜都超出预期，午餐可以选的也非常多。我前菜点的pumpkin velouté配鸭肉，南瓜汤非常清爽不腻，熏鸭肉也很香。主食点的Irish rump of beef，做的完美的五分熟，搭配sauce非常美味，薯条炸的水准太好了，放很久吃起来都不会软。甜品panna cotta放在玻璃碗里很好看。朋友点的cheese soufflé非常香，我不爱吃cheese都吃了好几口。搭配的白葡萄酒以及饭后咖啡都很棒~ 在法国吃过好几家米其林，这家餐厅有michelin guide的水平。服务员的态度非常好，令人如沐春风，如果有机会会再来这家餐厅，也会推荐朋友来。

Very good classic upmarket French bistro. Atmospheric, dark woods and rich dark leathers. Extremely comfortable. Impeccable friendly service and cooking of the highest quality. Loved it.

Meh... Visited for my bestie's surprise birthday dinner. Pseudo fine dining, low quality steak with a high price tag. Staff are nice enough, very efficient in topping up water and wine once you get going, but lacking a personal approach. No attempt to serve drinks until everyone had arrived, which was very strange (and took ages).

We dined here for dinner and was very disappointed. Overall, the food was average and very small portions. The pork and foie gras terrine had no flavour- the foie gras was teeny tiny and completely tasteless - extremely poorly executed dish. The fish was cooked really well but the crab ravioli was simply awful - only 2 pieces, yes 2 pieces, of ravioli were served and the filling was terrible - definitely not fresh crab, rather it was a claggy paste of some description. Further, this was served with 12 peas and 4 beans. As per other reviews, the staff were aggressive when feedback was provided. We really wanted to love this place because we’re local but we won’t be returning- there are far better alternatives in and around the High Rd.

We tried out La Vacherin for my wife’s birthday lunch. Very comfortable restaurant offering some good French food. The snails and mussels were a great way to start along with the house bread and great salted butter. The steak was nicely cooked and the coq au vin was delicious. Great desserts too and friendly staff.

I hosted a birthday lunch for 30 ladies of various ages yesterday and it ran like clockwork. Anais is a beacon of what hospitality should look like. She led her team with professionalism, style and warmth. All of the food was of an impeccable standard...

Great service on a very busy evening. Food was reasonable value, though not keen on an enforced set menu just because it’s Valentines Day, so would probably avoid that night again. Otherwise food was ok, good selection of wines but the service was outstanding.
