Disappointed after such high expectations. Food looked better than it tasted. Langoustines overcooked, crab roll overpowered by dressing, couldn’t taste the crab at all. Seafood soup lacking in taste, cullen skink needing more liquid. Very friendly service but sadly left very disappointed as have been wanting to come for years and had hoped for a quality experience.

Highly recommend this fantastic place, not only is the location absolutely gorgeous but the food is next level delicious! This is going to be a definite return for myself and my partner on a special occasion that’s for sure. Super fresh seafood and cooked to perfection. We ordered the hot seafood platter and it did not disappoint at all. Staff super friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to accommodate.

This is our favorite restaurant in Scotland, period. If you are driving pass this area, please please please make every effort to visit Lochleven Seafood Cafe if you can. When we arrived, we were starving and scared we'd almost miss the last order cut-off, but the staff were very friendly and did not rush our order at all. For starters we ordered the oyster and daily soup, then we ordered the fresh lobster, vongoli (clam spaghetti), langoustine, and scallops as mains. The highlight of the night was definitely the fresh lobster, it had nice grilled marks, cooked to perfection. It was by far the "freshest" lobster I've had. The meat is so tender and juicy, and just tasted amazing. The other dishes were just as good and we finished everything. Although we ordered a lot of food, we were able to save some room for dessert, and their sticky toffee pudding did not disappoint. Highly recommend and this will definitely be our most memorable restaurants to dine in on our list. Thanks for the great food!

We visited on their last day open, we had crab and lobster and the food was fresh and very tasty. Will be going back next time we are in the area.

The prices are pretty decent. The waitress seemed indifferent. The meals are smaller portions but the food tasted good.

This was our second visit, both down to us taking a diversion from our necessary route in order to get there. Definitely worth the extra miles! The restaurant/cafe is simply laid-out, nothing too fancy or overly pretentious. So a lot like the food itself. The ingredients are always the main attraction. Extraordinarily fresh seafood, superbly prepared with simple dressings, butters and garnishes. Although you CAN spend a fortune here - you really don't need to. If you just want some fantastic food and can live without the lobster or the oysters, you can eat well for £30-£35 per head. Excellent! The staff are also an asset. Always friendly and accommodating.

26 of us turned up for a light lunch....we had booked.....they really looked after us....food was superb as was the service.....can't wait for next year

The mixed seafood platter was lovely and tasty and readied in 10 minutes flat? £120 for two with a great mixture. I only down scored as the large crab, which had been cut in two to assist, was empty. The manageress tried to help find it with a fork, but both halves were crab meat free and I mean cleaned out.. The lady politely explained it could be the season and that some had less crab. The claws were smallish and held a very small dry portion. I'm too old to argue and otherwise enjoyed a special meal but please don't tell me there are good size crabs in the sea completely empty. Even more confused the manageress didn't even knock a little off the 120. Such a shame for a nice place.

Simply phenomenal 👏 Well done to Alison and the team for creating this most gorgeous of seafood stops just across the water from Glencoe Village. An absolute gem of a restaurant & cafe and so well thought out. It's so good in fact...you really need to book to avoid disappointment. My friends had an enormous seafood sharing platter, mussels, clams with linguine and halibut. I opted for a veggie salad but they did a couple of meat dishes too. Kinlochleven is an understated village adjacent to Glencoe village , easily accessible from the Ballachulish Bridge then turn right for a couple of miles. There's also the Grey Mares waterfall near the little village and probably one of the finest routes back towards Invercoe & Glencoe village. A fabulous 14 mile loop with a hidden gem of a foodie paradise , making it more than worth the effort.

Made it out here on a rainy Sunday night in Glencoe, and the place was packed. That should tell you something. Casual dining atmosphere, but I’ll wager you couldn’t find fresher and better-prepared seafood at a Michelin-starred eatery. As far as I could tell, only three people were working the floor, yet the wonderfully personable servers were keeping up. The food? Couldn’t be fresher - it’s mostly all caught in the loch - and flat-out delicious. She had Coley, I had the Haddock. Nice selection of wines. Fabulous.

Group stop for lunch. 25 of us. We were all well looked after. Staff are friendly, and the food was superb. Few bits on the menu if you're not a fish lover.

Had the most amazing Takeaway Seafood Platter for 2 yesterday. Wonderful selection of the most delicious, fresh seafood you could ever ask for. We’ve had it before and will definitely be having it again. Great service, and lovely little gifts in the shop too.

Finally got to go. Travelled to lochleven on a beautiful sunny day. What a stunning part of the world and nestled on Lochside isa piece of seafood heaven. Had the plater. Was amazing. I've wanted to visit here for a few years and last Friday I got my chance to go. My friend drove from Glasgow so I could take in the stunning views on the way up. Well worth the drive. We got there at midday and it was already filling up. So I would advise booking a table. We had a table by the window which had amazing views over the loch and mountains the other side. We chose a kilo of mussels cooked in cider as a starter and a hot plater for one to share as a main. The food was amazing the mussels were big fat and so fresh 😋😋😋. I could have had this again as main. But the Hot plater for one was just as amazing. And to finish the time of perfectly we managed to get to chat with the owner Alison who was warm and friendly.

We stopped here for lunch when heading north a few weeks ago and were so glad we did. We didn't have a booking but that wasn't an issue and we were made feel welcome from the minute a staff member spoke to us and advised that we could have a table. We shared some lovely fresh oysters to start and they were excellent. We also shared some lovely fish pate and bread. The mains were just fantastic. My companion had the scallops and there were eight perfectly cooked and presented on the plate. She loved them. I got a cold seafood platter and I was delighted when it was served, it looked awesome and I couldn't fault it. Everything was just so fresh and tasty. The half a lobster, half a crab, a couple of oysters, three or four large langoustines, a load of surf clams and mussels and a couple of razor clams and some dips. Brilliant. The only disappointment was when I had scoffed the lot and couldn't find any more delicious shellfish on the large and great value for money platter. We cannot wait to return as the food and service were excellent and cannot be faulted and the dining space is nice yet casual. Thanks again for a fabulous meal.

Absolutely sensational scran. I had carrot & coriander soup to start, wild halibut with extra roast potatoes & honey-glazed carrots as a main course, rounded off by the chocolate & orange tart. Every course absolutely perfect: best seafood I’ve eaten in the UK, 100%. Vegetables delicious into the bargain. My girlfriend had tomato & feta salad to start proceedings, coupled with a small portion (which looked enormous but was just right) of both mussels and langoustine as the main event, with sticky toffee pudding to finish. Her reviews were as raveworthy as mine; every course consisting of simply beautifully fresh, brilliantly cooked and prepared food, served by friendly, knowledgeable people (we had to have langoustine-dismantling lessons, which were delivered in that wonderful way that doesn’t make one feel like a complete idiot) and all in one hell of a picturesque setting! Try if you’re in the area. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful seafood restaurant. We went early, and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. If you have time, definitely book ahead. It gets insanely busy, and you will know why once you eat here. The service was amazing considering how busy it was. The chef put out fabulous food every time. Sticky toffee pudding was just awesome with the homemade ice cream. Really great experience.

Book this place. I drive up from Glasgow to eat here. This is one of the last authentic seafood restaurants. You can get hot or cold seafood platters or buy each product in 500gr or 1kg. The seafood is incredibly fresh and very affordable.

The restaurant was recommended by someone from the chalet we stayed 5 minutes drive from the restaurant. It was fully booked on a Monday evening, but we managed to get the last table available. We did not know what to expect and it was beyond our expectations, the food was incredible, type of haute cuisine. For anyone near Fort Williams and Glencoe, I truly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic bustling cafe - we went on a Sunday afternoon without a booking, and we’re warmly welcomed by staff. In future I would definitely book to be safe though, as it did get busy and some people without booking who came after us were turned away. A fantastic choice of menu - mainly shell fish, but with a handful of grill and fish options too with a salad for anyone who might fancy. Portions are a fantastic size for the price ! COFFE, cakes and puddings were also an option, as well as take away food. There is in addition a shop where you can purchase gifts and confectionery, as well as fresh sea food readily prepared to cook.

Absolutely first-class experience. They cater for Coliacs so bonus. Every dish is beautifully prepared and presented. Staff are lovely, polite, and attentive. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.

Excellent seafood! Had Cullen Skink and Halibut that was perfect. Wife had salad and Filet of Coley that made me jealous with it great flavor. Perfectly cooked. Beautiful view of Loch across rd. on perfectly beautiful day! Perfect ending to a perfect day!

I've been waiting to come here for some years. Got the opportunity recently on a short break in the area. The Cafe was moderately busy, though we had booked. The welcome was genuine, the staff pleasant, with smiles and good humour. The service was quick and efficient. The food fabulous. Loved every minute of our stay. Sat inside for food, outside for aperitifs and for coffee after. A brilliant experience. looking forward to going back.

The freshest and the best seafood you can possibly get . The shellfish are grown in Loch Leven right in front of your table. We were very lucky to get a table after a last minute decision to visit, but booking is very good idea....

Beautiful location by Loch Leven...super fast service even when the cafe was almost full. You can sit inside, on the patio with gorgeous views of loch Leven or even just by the loch at the picnic tables. Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone visiting the area. Plenty of free parking outside.

Lovely seafood with a great view of Loch Leven. Food tastes very fresh and lots of options for different types of seafood. Gluten free options and bread available. Make sure you book, and food is not served between 4.15-5pm.

Incredible seafood, so fresh and perfectly well cooked. A bit on greasier side sauce wise, but isn't drenching the shellfish which is fine. The lobster meat was delicate and easy to pick, the langoustines so springy and full of yolk, and scallops so tender and juicy. The garlic bread was mild in flavor, very buttery and crispy. My only complaint would be that portions are on the smaller side, and quite expensive, but I still think it was worth it and it's got a lovely view of the lake!

Super fresh seafood and cooking done right that bringing out the taste of the sea, with the magnificent view of Loch Leven, it is definitely worth the drive coming here. Much to our regret, we didn't order the voluptuous seafood platter - almost every table around us ordered that!

The food just fell a bit from what we expected. Oysters were good but not Pacific Northwest America excellent. More similar to east coast US oysters. Halibut was not moist and was flaky but i could tell if they cooked it right they could make that a star dish. Other person had steak and it was OK. The location is awesome and the service was really good. Atmosphere is also a home run so if they gave some attention to the food this could be a top location to eat for the area.
