Masala in Strabane

Twice now when ordering vegetarian curry I've gotten meat in it. It sucks, because I love the food, but I just can't recommend masala anymore because of these mistakes. It's worse than accidently messing up the order because its a random big chunk of meat in the curry which I assume fell in, to me this just isn't acceptable, imagine if someone had an allergy.

I truly enjoy the Mixed Kebab and the chefs are pretty rad. I always indulge, get all the sauce, I think it's really fab. Everytime the order is fast, from the wait to paying the tab. The sauces, the meat, it's quite the treat, and don't forget the naan. Easily the best fast food around, even outside Strabane. Chips and dips against my lips, the price is very fair, so slide your hand into your purse and always tip Celaire.

Slowest delivery in town. Waiting over a hour and still no food. Last time I’ll ever order takeaway from here.

Amazing food, great service, short wait times. The restaurant is very well decorated, the prices are worth it, and this is one of my all time favourite places to eat.

Best Indian food in Strabane or Derry. Possibly worst service in Strabane or Derry, however. If you order takeaway, you absolutely MUST check every bit of your order before leaving as I'd say that 70% of the time our order is wrong in some way. Usually they swap out some small item for something you didn't ask for. When we go back to get what we ordered, they'll act like we're annoying them. I've decided to only knock one star off for this because if you get your order, it's worth it every time as far as portion sizes and taste goes.

Absolutely excellent. Gorgeous tasty food, generous portions, very friendly staff and management. Can't recommend enough. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Ireland

Great kebabs. Very expensive tho even in Dublin with whatever order you get you get free poppadoms these make u pay everything individually they call free state rip off ireland but in Dublin this place is more expensive than Dublin and that's a massive city far too dear

Got fish from here this evening and really disappointed, greasy soggy batter that I had to scrape out of the box ,tried to take the batter off to try and salvage something to eat but the bin was the only option 🤢

Does not deserve a one star , ordered 2 Currie's both tasted the same and putting the rice and curry together in one container is fooling no one . One was meant to a jafressi and the other a bhuma.They appear to be using reconstituted chicken as well . What we got was 2 genertic chicken Currys, I might as well have gone to the local petrol station in lifford . Also they didn't even mark the containers to identify which curry was which. As they probably could not even tell the difference themselves.

We had 4 different dishes, Lamb Madras, Traditional Chicken Curry, Chicken Buna Tikka, and another Chicken Dish, the only thing that they had in common,was they all tasted the same, To say the food was bad , would be an understatement,

Normally have a great takeaway but delivery a disaster. I offered to give a postcode but the staff wouldn't take it saying my mobile would be enough. Of course driver went in opposite direction! 1.5 hours later had to drive off to chippy. Delivery is supposed to be the utmost offering in home service but this is a disaster. No recompense offered and hence the low score. Happy to be contacted and remedied?

My favourite takeaway! The kebabs are unbelievable and the curries are really tasty. The big sell is that it is all authentic stuff. The naan bread is outstanding and heightens most dishes. Always helpful service.

Chicken kebabs are made from dried out chicken pakora, could not be freshly prepared. I’ve asked for extra sauce each time I order the same dish and have offered to pay extra for it but they never listen. Mama Masalas in Derry is a much better Indian restaurant, this place could learn a thing or two from them on how to keep their customers happy and coming back again. On Sunday 15th March, my wife, mum (Maggie McCauley), Richard and myself had lunch at the Masala. It was first class. We had a fantastic meal and experience with great food and service. The value for money was exceptional and we can only recommend a visit if you are ever passing through. Each meal had first quality produce in it, a lovely experience, many thanks.

The food is good in here but the place is badly let down with the non existent service. We were not even acknowledged when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night, waited 20 mins on drinks and the place wasn’t even busy. All the staff seemed to be hiding in the kitchen and it was a joke around the table that we could have made our own drinks as there was absolutely no presence of staff behind the bar either. We will probably stick to the takeaway in future, what a shame!

Masala is the only takeaway in Strabane that is consistently good. I have yet to get a wrong order or a bad meal out of here and I have been ordering from here for years! It is pricier than other takeaways but the quality and quantity of food you get is well worth it.

It was outstanding for food and service

From an award winning Indian with amazing takeaway food, to sub par chippy level. Im basing that off the fish and chips we just ordered.Remember when the fish was huge, thick and the batter was soft.We just got two portions of fish and a bag of chips, and the fish is so thin and tiny and lacking the flavour it used to have. The chips aren't cooked very well and the portion is laughable for a bag, considering I didn't ask for a scoop of chips. They also forgot the curry sauce so had to wait for that to be delivered before tucking in.All in all for about £13 We're very disappointed if this is what's happening in what used to the best takeaway in strabane.

Had the fish and chips tonight, loved the chips, fish greasy, _7:50 not for me, disappointed, jaspers and friars were better, sorry masala

Ordered Chicken Bhuna, with rice, chips, poppadums plus small portion of curry sauce, along with delivery and it came to £22!! Once we got over the initial shock of the cost we set about tasting the food.The Bhuna was horrible and inedible. It tasted acidic so whatever they are putting into the sauce please stop.... chips were really poor quality. Curry sauce was awful too, you'd get better quality in the local chip shop. If this is the standard then please avoid.

Had a fantastic evening in Masala. Food and drinks and service was second to None. Will definitely be back. Excellent atmosphere and excellent food.

Went here last night, sit in. During the meal I pulled a long hair from my curry, followed by another and another, I brought it to the attention of the waitress and told her I didn’t want a replacement , she then told me the manager was sorry and I wouldn’t be charged for the portion I had eaten !!

Once sparkling fare dulled by hen party culture.As people who love delicious spicy difference will know, something is lost here.

Just been in Masala Restaurant celebrating my Fanicee's Birthday. The Food was delicious and the Staff were very friendly, I would recommend this Restaurant to everyone.

Beautiful good and great value for money

I decided we'd have an Indian take away on Friday evening and theirs only one place to go to get it and that's Masala. Love this place ,the food here is first class and you really get such a good feed.We have an Indian in our local town but I by pass it as I don't like it and go to Masala in Strabane because I know the food is excellent. Highly recommend this place, they also have a restaurant were you can sit in.

This is the worst Indian food i have had in a long time.Tandoori chicken very red and no flavour.The curries were very very bland,and its a one sauce fits all it seems.The tarka daal is the worst i have tasted,definitely not to be repeated.And not cheap.

Great food and excellent staff manning the take out section! Efficient order-taking and food worth waiting for. Sometimes when busy, you might have to wait a bit but worth it. Maybe a wee bit on the expensive side compared to other takeaways in the town but the food more than compensates for this.

I have been coming here for some years and while it started very well the ever present NI curse of give more and cutting the quality seems now in full swing. The menu is becoming more anglicised ,the spicing less pronounced and now the waiting staff (whilst still efficient) are far less decorative. Sad.

Very friendly, helpful stuff - food was very pleasant indeed - chose an evening when meal deal was offered in conjunction with local cinema. Staff even checked cinema listings for us! Would love to see the Masala busier!

Beautiful surroundings, inviting and vibrant with great background music. Service was quick but very warm and accommodating and meal was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and complimentary! So much so I was back the next week. Plenty to offer on menu and such a great deal! Thanks Masala, I will be back to celebrate a birthday in August in your stunning function room upstairs.

Great service and delicious food as usual!

On coming back to Strabane to visit I, on the odd occasion call into Masala for a Kashmiri chicken. This time the rice was its usual beautiful self but on opening the container of Kashmiri chicken there was was a heavy disproportionate amount of sauce to chicken. I know that KFC had found it very difficult to source a supply of chicken, perhaps that’s where the missing chicken went?

We have been eating takeaways from Masalas for a number of years & have always been very pleased with the quality & taste of the food & would have recommended to everyone including family & friends..

22/10/17 Went this evening for food and asked for 1 mixed kebab with salad and sauce, 1chicken kebab no salad and sauce and 1 bag of chips... Whilst in collecting our food there was 2 mix ups and they gave us someone else's orders and then finally when we got our order the chicken kebab came with salad although i asked for none, I wasn't happy to say the least !! Otherwise masala is usually very good but I wasn't best pleased this evening !!

I have been to this place quite a few times . Each time I ordered something new. Never been disappointed once. Food is mouth watering here the smell is amazing. Staff very friendly and food arrived pretty quick. This place gets a massive up for me.

Estado comiendo aquí ahora para algunos, aunque la mayoría de los llevar a cabo. Puede ser muy concurrida especialmente en el fin de semana y por desgracia parece afectar no sólo el tiempo de espera, sino también la calidad. Recientemente dieron la orden habitual y estaba mal por la tercera vez en 5 semanas. No me puedo quejar antes, pero esta vez llamé y me dijeron que podía recoger un pedido reciente. No esta, pero cuando llegué a casa era de piedra fría, así que ciertamente no es un orden fresca como yo vivo a 2 minutos de distancia. Es una pena que los estándares han decrecido como cuando hacerlo bien realmente es comida de calidad. Sólo ten cuidado que la noche te orden.
