Mumbai Flavours in Northumberland

We visited on a Sunday night. It was quiet, but we were so impressed with our visit. The food was delicious, very tasty, but unfortunately we couldn’t finish it all! The staff were friendly and super helpful, chatting about other things that we could do in the area while we were here. Would definitely visit again.

Absolutely lovely take-away meal bought on 3.11.23. We had a lamb naga bhuna and a lamb Rogan Josh they were so tasty. Will definitely be going back for more meals on the future.

It was very busy but they cheerfully found a table for us and our waiter Francois was prompt and efficient. And the food was to die for - wonderful flavours, just perfect. A most enjoyable experience.

From walking through the door, dripping wet in the torrential rain, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They sorted a table out for us even though we hadn’t booked and we were soon munching tasty popadoms with tasty dips. I had the sweet chicken badami and my partner had the chicken and spinach. Both dishes were superb and very filling. Service was 5 star and very pleasant. Well worth a visit if you’re in Alnwick.

We are from Yorkshire and are lucky to be able to enjoy delicious curries quite often. But this was probably one of the best curries we have ever had. The service was also impeccable. The restaurant has just had a refurb, we are talking dark blues and copper tones teamed with silver elephants and a colourful mural. A delight for the eyes. If you are in Northumberland, I recommend this gem, but you might want to book!

I visit here at least once a week for a take out. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the prices very reasonable.

Lovely restaurant, we booked a few day's stay in Alnwick. We had actually booked the meal on the Sunday but changed our plans, we rung up and they managed to squeeze us in on the Saturday. The reviews were favourable we weren't disappointed, delicious meal, prices were good, staff lovely and attentive, food timings great, ambience spot on so happy days.

Excellent restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food is one of the best curries we have had. The chicken dansak was great. A definite worthy visit if you are in the town.

A very impressive 'curry house' in the centre of delightful Alnwick. My wife and I had a fantastically tasty meal there before a trip to Alnwick Playhouse. The starters were excellent. The main courses even better! My advice is to go for the Chicken Coconut Chilli Ceylon....it was the best curry I've had for years, and I live near Bradfird (the so called home of the curry in Britain). The service was perfect. I will be hoing back...my only problem is how to break away from this most delightful dish.

Delicious food! Very friendly service too and good amount of timings between courses etc. We love a curry any day of the week, but this was one of the best we've had. Very flavoursome and just the right portions. My partner had mixed kebab starter and korma main, I had spicy king prawn puri and the coconut chilli ceylon. We then tried the rice pudding and gulab which we delicious too! Definitely recommend and whenever we're nearby again, we will be back.

We ate at Mumbai this week, following a visit to Alnwick … and were absolutely delighted! Pickle tray had the usual things, but somehow tasted better than usual. Then I ordered Lamb Saag … one of my favourites, but often disappointed due to the poor quality of the meat. Not at Mumbai! It was SO tender and flavoursome… it just fell apart! No hidden gristle or fat. And the sauce was delightful. My husband had Chicken madras, and his comment was ‘brilliant’ ! The service was outstanding without being ‘in your face’ and the value ? Tremendous. Looking forward to a return visit in the future!

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Alnwick, well worth a visit if you’re staying here. They managed to fit us in at short notice and the service and food were exceptional. I’m vegetarian and their options were also varied and delicious, a hearty recommendation.
