Temperature of the food was not even warm, curry lacked flavour and was watery.

Valentine's night food was barely warm, extras were missing and the prawns didn't taste fresh. We ended up not eating the meal, calling up the restaurant and asking for them to collect the food and issue a refund so we can order from elsewhere. We ordered online, through their own website and paid cash. We were offered a £5 gift card which isn't acceptable. We asked again for a refund and we're told we had to do it through the website we ordered through. Their website. I checked the website I ordered through and it gives the telephone number of the restaurant regarding complaints. The chef I spoke with told me I'm getting nothing and was abrupt and rude saying that the food was cooked fresh and that he can't refund us as they have delivered the food. We were then told, quite rudely again, that it was busy and that they would call us back at some point later. Worst customer service I have ever received!!

One of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve been to. How can you serve me one prawn as a sharing starter. Chilli paneer was mediocre. Biryani was underwhelming. Tarka dhal was bland and cold. Would not recommend, not sure how it has good average reviews. I should’ve walked out when I got there and it was empty but I thought it could be due to bad weather.

Had take away,food was luke warm,chicken was over cooked,naah was under cooked,always been very nice in the pasted

This is a very pleasant modern minimalist Indian restaurant with curtious, knowledgeable and attentive waiters. The  food was cooked to perfection, tender meat, perfectly seasoned sauces and the lightest naan bread. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in which I have had the pleasure to eat and I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.

We previously rated this place really highly and would pick up an order whenever we passed but this time quality seemed to have declined. Vegetables and other ingredients clearly weren't fresh. Hopefully a temporary blip.

Ordered take away and was really looking forward to good scampi but it was awful not proper scampi it was the mashed up rubbish. I can't eat that it has to be whole tail scampi. For over 10 pounds you'd expect decent meal but it was the worst scampi I've ever had. Please don't order this dish if you want proper scampi as you'll be very disappointed

I went with friends who were visiting from abroad. We had been on their last visit and they had specifically asked to go back. New Saffron didn’t disappoint. The service was extremely friendly and quick. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely come again.

Shipon and co always host a lovely, personable evening with great dishes! We love to support local (although don’t eat out much), this is in our top two for choicesin Thetford! Definitely recommend! We can’t wait for our Christmas Day sitting in the restaurant! Amazing services, great prices. And no washing up! 😉

13 of us came for a family meal and nothing was too much trouble. We weren’t rushed and everything we ordered came out exactly as we asked and tasted amazing!

We have just had a lovely meal here on a Thursday evening during the restaurants banquet night. We are staying at Centerparcs on a holiday and having tried the on site Indian restaurant in previous years (it’s awful) we decided this year to try and find a nice little local, even if it meant travelling off site. Upon arrival the restaurant was almost full (6.10pm) we were welcomed and shown to our table. Service was exceptional throughout and soon after we ordered drinks and poppadoms. We had the banquet menu which was £13.95 a head and included a starter, main dish, rice or naan and a side. Even with this offer the portions did not compromise and we all had plenty of food. The food was incredibly tasty and you could tell had been prepared freshly. We had starters of onion Bhaji, mixed kebabs, tandoori lamb and the fried spiced chicken pieces. Myself and partner had a Balti and madras each and both were delicious. Our children (7 and 11) tucked into the korma, pilau (party rice as my son named it) we then shared sides of naans, sag aloo and tarka daal. My daughter said it was the tastiest korma she had ever had! We were made to feel welcome and were so well looked after. As a family we like to enjoy good tasty food and this place did not disappoint one bit! We will definitely be back when we are next in the area!

The food was terrible. Onion bhaji's weren't cooked all the way through, the chutney's were missing, the Pasanda was awful and looked like it may have spilt and the Tarka Daal was like a watery broth. We ordered extra to keep as another meal in the week, but have now thrown it all in the bin. What a waste of money. I won't be ordering from here again.

We were visiting the area and decided to order a take away from New Safron. It was delicious and every dish we ordered cooked to perfection. The greeting from the team when we arrived to pick up our order was warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to visiting Thetford again and dining in at New Safron in the future.

I was up in Thetford for a course and realised I had booked my bus back to Cornwall the day after so looked around for some food. I love Indian cuisine and quickly found New Saffron on a online search. What can I say, it was beautifully cooked. Much better than the local curry houses near me. I started with a mixed kebab start (which I kind of wish I had ordered for my main.) It was so well cooked. The meat was juicy and so flavourful. The main I had was lamb dish that the owner recommended and boy I'm glad he did. Just the right amount of heat and again the meat was cooked perfectly. I had a side of rice and a keema nan. Even the keema was expertly made. Not to much mince in it the was its supposed to be, but enough to get the lamb flavour through it. The owner was a very nice man. He would go above and beyond for any of his customers and all I can say is well done to him. A great place to eat and next time I'm in Thetford I shall definitely be stopping in again.

I have no idea what went wrong, or why our experience was so different to the many other great reviews but firstly our rice and poppadoms were left of on our delivery; there was a lot of confusion and we had to practically beg for our two portions of rice to be redelivered. As for the quality of food itself the curries lacked any depth or spice. My jalfrezi had no heat and was bright red, ie use of food coloring. Also lacked the pepper and onion used in such a dish, the sides of potatoes were tinned/frozen. Perhaps the dine-in experience is better! Very underwhelming for us though :(

Had my birthday dinner here - the guys were so welcoming and lovely. I had specific dietary requirements as did another in my group and they were so cool about it, as they make everything from scratch, so they made meals adapted to our needs. Which, btw, were DELICIOUS! We all LOVED our meals, they were filling and delicious and the guys helpfulness going above and beyond really made the evening

I like New Saffron and I have left positive reviews in the past but this is the 2nd time that we've been left disappointed with our order. The Nan breads we ordered were Inedible. Tastes stale and overly warmed up to the point that it was too stiff to eat, almost chipped my tooth worn trying to bite it :( The cheese nan was basically just a slice cheese in a folded nan that was too hard to eat because it was so stale.
