Ocho never disappoints. Such a selection of tapas to choose from and our waiter was happy to talk use through the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and of course Sean is there to oversee everything. A super atmosphere and a wonderful evening of delicious food. This new location is such a beautiful setting and the restaurant deserves to do well after having to relocate not once but twice. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Beautiful evening meal for two , set in a lovely ambiance, fairly priced , food was delicious, and the server Mitzi was knowledgeable and friendly and she gave a nice relaxed atmosphere to our evening , would definitely recommend , hope to return soon

Outstanding food, service and company! The food here was honestly unreal, we where trying to figure out ever last ingredient in order to re creat dish’s we know we won’t be able to because they where so out standing! Had a night in Ocho last Friday evening with friends. Fantastic menu and when the food arrived, it came in plentiful measures and tasted great. The service was exemplary and we were advised on which wines might go best with our food choices. A great night was had by us all and I'm quite sure we'll all be back.

After being here when yous first opened in July (which was amazing) we decided to go again on Thursday evening and to say it was horrendous would be an understatement!!!! Food was cold, service was bleak, the two girls stood and chatted the entire time without even acknowledging us and it wasn’t even a busy night, a curly head girl came down and didn’t know a thing about what was in each dish (I’ve an peanut allergy) and just couldn’t have cared less to put it bluntly! Last time we were in were were served by Anna and another lady both seemed to have their wits about them….. Bring them back until then I won’t be back through ocho bistros doors. Good luck next time.

My wife and I went there last night. We had never been there before but had heard about this restaurant when it was in Portstewart. We had an absolutely superb meal. The waitresses Abbey and Mitzy were really excellent and knowledgeable and talked us through the menu. There are lots of small plate tapas style dishes available and they were really clever mixes between tapas style dishes with the best local ingredients. For example, one of our small plates was a goats cheese bon bon dish with sweet pickled beetroot; glazed cooked beetroot and a beetroot goats cheese purée. Really well balanced and tasty dish. Everything was fresh and really well presented. There is a lot of skill going on in the kitchen and I have to say that 4 tapas plates and two mains plus a couple of glasses of wine was really good value at £88 for the quality of the food. Will happily go again when I’m in the area.

So happy to have lunch in Ocho Tapas today. Have not been in since the Portrush days. The food was delicious as always. The dates in bacon are our favourites and we've been ordering them since Ocho was on Captain Street in Coleraine. Thankfully the lunch time/early evening tapas menu features them and other favourites. The four tapas meal is a good big lunch for two people and at £24.95 (£12.50 per person) it's a good price for the taste and quality of the food.

We were staying in Portrush and I had heard about this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed . From the welcome at the front door , service , and the food - everything was amazing. We asked for recommendations from the menu - the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered choices. The food was magnificent , served and presented well. The menu was detailed and explained well and came as described. The service was spot on and the servers were attentive and helpful. A very enjoyable evening. Thank you

My mum and I had a lovely lunch in Ochos yesterday. We shared the 4 tapas lunch special and it was divine (miso aubergine was just delicious). Both of us are vegetarian, but veggie or not, you must take a trip to Ochos, for an inexpensive, freshly made, authentic Spanish lunch. The 4 tapas was more than enough for the two of us, as the portions were very generous. We shard a Créme Catalan desert, which topped off the meal perfectly. Mitzi, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and friendly and would be one of the reasons to come back again. This restaurant must be the best kept secret on the North Coast and is a must for locals and tourists alike. Thank you for a lovely lunch out.

I was with two friends and we had a fabulous time at the new location for Ocho Tapas. We started with the sharing bread platter. It was absolutely delicious..fresh bread , chopped tomato and beautiful olive oils to dip as well as garlic mayo. We all loved it. Then came the tapas we had prawns, goats cheese, feta, mushrooms and papayas bravas. The portions were excellent and we all liked every single dish. We had large glasses of the house white and red ...perfect. I can say their sauvignon blanc is particularly good. For dessert pecan pie and a crumble. Both delicious. Highly recommended. I will definitely be returning. A lovely experience.... we all shared the tapas which would be my recommendation of how to have the best experience. Service was excellent too.

Really poor tapas bread stale and dates wrapped in bacon burnt very overpriced and really needs to improve and too expensive the only positive was the lady who served us who was very helpful

First time at Ocho having wanted to try it for quite some time. Good bits first - staff were lovely and atmosphere good, even for a relatively quiet lunch time service - lovely to watch passing boats and the occasional train across the river. Prices were fair for two courses - either a starter and main or main and dessert. Sadly the food did not live up to expectations with all dishes lacking in any real stand out quality. Not bad food but with so much to offer on the north coast it needs to up the game.

Hard to review, we enjoyed the jolly service, the food and wine were enjoyable and good value. But we hated the low ceilinged echo inducing room which was incredibly noisy when full. So we wouldn’t recommend until summer dining in 24!

Excellent meal here with my daughter to celebrate my birthday. The waitress recommended three tapas per person, and that was about right - we had some bread, too. A very good choice of dishes, and every one was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the calamari deep fried in panko breadcrumbs and the duck breast served with braised lettuce and cherries, bu it was all great. The service was friendly and efficient. Tables were allocated an hour and a half, which didn’t feel rushed. I must give a special mention to the banoffee roulade, which may just be the nicest dessert I’ve ever eaten.

I loved it here. Staff are friendly. The food was gorgeous and not your usual fare. I had the prawns and my partner had the Chorizo, both were delicious. We shared the paella combo and it was cooked to perfection. Really excellent. Would highly recommend.

We ate at Ocho last night, having read many of the reviews here we weren't sure if it was going to be excellent or zany. For us it was perfect, the upstairs dining room is lovely - nice decor, airy and with tables well spaced out. The waiter was friendly, helpful and fun. But most importantly the food was superb, every mouthful was a delight. We ordered 6 tapas dishes between 2 of us and it was plenty. I just wish it was closer to home, so we could become regulars.

We had lunch in Ocho Tapas yesterday and were delighted with our experience. The food was delicious. You get 6 tapas plates, each one was fantastic and a really enjoyable experience to eat. My absolute favourites were the pork fillet and the garlic chicken but everything was a taste delight.

Luckily got a table here for the last night of our break. All aspects were superb. Had a great table at the back and all staff work masks/visors so was able to relax and enjoy the experience Over indulged on the menu as there was too many options to choose from. Beef rib special was superb and also recommend the east the beast beer from the local brewery. Five star experience

Just back from a long awaited revisit to Ocho. Myself and my wife Carole we’re having a slightly early wedding anniversary celebration meal and what an amazing meal we had. As usual we probably ordered too much but with great choices, who can resist. Our selection spanned monkfish, aubergine, goats cheese to lamb and the dishes were sublime. It is always blatantly obvious that Ocho serves great quality, and in many cases, locally sourced food prepared and cooked with great passion and skill. Also, the staff are just so very friendly and welcoming. We just can’t wait for our next visit. Highly recommended indeed

Was very disappointed considering all the great reviews. Was a poor experience from start to finish, from the fact there was no toilet roll in the toilets, the toilet itself being dirty and there also appeared to be no changing room for babies meaning a lady had to sit on a seat beside the sink to change her child’s nappy while others washed their hands. We ordered “triple cooked chunky chips” however when they were brought to our table they were skinny fries and when questioned we were told they ran out of the chunky chips and if we didn’t want them they would “take them back”. We decided to keep them as we didn’t want to make a fuss. Again, someone else had ordered patatas bravas which were advertised as fried potatoes and we were given skinny fries again with a tomato sauce without being told about the change.The bread we ordered was stale and the soft drinks were being served from 2 litre bottles from behind the bar. We visited the restaurant during the “eat out to help out” scheme meaning we got £20 off our bill, without that our bill would have been £50 for 6 tapas and no alcohol which is ridiculously over priced. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and certainly won’t be back.

Nice little place....we had 2 dishes each- Bravas, croquettes with goats cheese, calamari, chorizo burgers, meatballs and a fab chickpea dish. Everything really nice. Only disappointment was the sangria. 19.95 for a jug with very little alcohol. Could be better.

we had read top reviews about this restaurant so we were delighted to get a booking late notice last week. Place was very busy and staff were not overly friendly (compared to the other places visited during our trip). Having lived in Spain for 12 years I was excited about eating in a tapas restaurant, but was very disappointed with the very un-Spanish menu. Basics like Ensalada Rusa or even Tortilla was missing off the limited tapas section. Half the food that arrived out was very tasty, but the other half was just average. Disappointed given the excellent reviews....

The tapas was excellent and the food delivered at an ideal pace . Ambiance was very nice and soft music playing. Staff were very attentive , possibly overly so as we were asked 7 times by at least 4 different staff if everything was ok . We had a lovely night, if I had one negative it would be that the sangria was not very alcoholic and at £19.95 for a small jug I could not recommend . We had a spirit to finish and gin and tonic was ok price ... but jack Daniels and coke high at around £7. Overall I would definitely recommend.

Took my girlfriend here on Valentine’s Day, and again on her birthday, amazing food, like without a doubt a contender (if not the) best restaurant on the north coast of Ireland. Amazing house wine (Tempranillo) which is priced amazingly for the qualityof it, we are 2 vegetarians, and even at that the food quality is amazing, I can only imagine what it’s like with some meat of the same quality, I recommend to everyone, brilliant price, even better food, staff are friendly, visible at all times but they don’t bother your table, perfect for a date night.

Drove 8 miles for a takeaway in a effort to support local business tried to ring order through but was continually engaged. When I arrived my order was refused because I hadn't rung it through. This is not the way to treat your customers especially when there were empty tables.

The food is amazing, the staff are charming, after that, the service is woefully inadequate and turned what was to be a great night out, into one of frustration, we knew the food was outstanding and that was our purpose to return, how disappointing it became, staff were new , that’s fine , but the food being delivered was all over the show and no real control from kitchen to as how the food was going out, big issue was as the waiting staff did not know the table numbers and most people ordering the same food, orders were being left anywhere that some one had the same order, resulting in chaos. Big question, would I go back, maybe, but the staff training and system in kitchen for putting out orders would have to improve.

This was our first venture out for dinner post lockdown. We were so lucky to get a table. The food and drink were incredible. The staff knew the menu inside out and made perfect recommendations. They were also good craic! Social distancing was perfect but perfectly subtle. We felt safe and totally relaxed. Well done guys, we can’t wait to come back!

We were so excited to visit this place having had a great experience booking on the phone and read the reviews. What a disappointment. Whilst broadly speaking the service was friendly, it was exceptionally poor in quality. The mixed board of charcuterie iberico description stated it came with 4 types of ham, olives, manchego, nuts and quince. It came with just 3 slices of chorizo, 4 slices of lomo, 3 shavings of manchego, 2 single capers. It was 15 minutes until the next dish, 15 minutes to the one after that. Food was brought to our table, set down, taken back from us and set back down again with little communication. Having enquired politely several times we were too embarrassed to continue asking questions! When we arrived home we realised 2 further dishes had not arrived. What a shame!

A welcome return. Food was fabulous of course and the usual friendly staff. Normality is returning a little bit at a time and this is a great start. Started with a pint of Guinness which I just sat and looked at for a while. I wasn’t crying. I had something in my eye. . A real pleasure to return. Obviously put a whole lot of effort in to keep everyone safe. Did I mention the food was fabulous?

First time trying the Ocho Tapas takeaway Sunday lunch today - simply superb. Our family ordered both the roast beef and the chicken and it’s difficult to pick a favourite. The beef had a wonderful gravy (maybe a jus) and Yorkshire pudding which travelled home surprising well....oh and the beef was lovely. Meanwhile the chicken came with a delightful stuffing. Loads of veg and potatoes with proper homemade cauliflower cheese (the containers were scraped bare!).Desserts of cheesecake chocolate brownie and raspberry almond tart half eaten so far - there’ll be space before bed to finish! One of the highlights of lockdown and revised eating arrangements. Roll on Ocho Tapas opening its doors properly again!
