We eat out a lot in good and great restraurants and it takes something to impress us. Both of us thought that the meal we had at Prithvi yesterday evening was exceptional. The attention to detail is staggering, the food amazing, the service impeccable, even down to having napkins refolded when we occasionally left the table - things like that really make restaurants stand out. Keep up the great work and please open one in London!

Haven’t been for a while but this is one of the stars of Cheltenham. The food is incredible and the venue is stunning, but it’s really the staff that take it to the next level. Friendly and professional. 5/5

Best fine dining restaurant in Cheltenham hands down. Incredible food, the very best service and napkin ninjas. Expensive, but oh so worth every penny for such a special meal.

This is by any standards a top restaurant. With friends for the Lit Fest who eat out/ fine dine UK/internationally. Their view - “best Indian restaurant we have ever been to” No - best restaurant” We were delighted to have brought them here. As always, really excellent service ( knowledgeable about food and wine without pretentiousness). A lovely relaxed warm team.

This is the first time when i was in fine dinining restaurat and i was worry i will pay a lot for small portion of food. Presentation, taste of food, drink, personel everything was amazing. I really enjoy the night and i left restaurant not hungry. I definitly come back. Thank you for amazing experience.

Lovely experience. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable and keen to share same. Five course taster menu with snacks. Every dish was explained by staff and devoured with smiles on my own and my wife's faces. Couldn't fault the place at all. Only concern is the prices may go up when they get their Michelin star (which they deserve).

Unbelievable dinner experience! The prix fixe menu was well-paced, excellent from the pre-dinner snacks to the desserts. Each dish was more flavorful than the last. The wine pairing helped to add an extra layer of flavor to the dinner. The servers were very knowledgeable especially with the wine. An all-around wonderful experience, would definitely go again!

A wonderful evening at Prithvi. I saw this restaurant on the Michelin Guide website, and booked in late on Saturday evening for my wife and I on her birthday. We chose the 5 course taster menu and we were not disappointed as the food was creative, beautifully presented with delicious flavours. A mixture of modern themes elevated with Indian spices and ingredients. We had a nice corner table with cushions which was very comfortable as we were there some time. The food was complemented by a extensive wine menu and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Attentive, but still relaxed. I've already recommended to my friends and family. PS: we had excellent pre-dinner cocktails upstairs, if you can manage the steep stairs.

Every time I go to this restaurant it just gets better. The attention to detail with the food is incredible. Took my daughter here for the first time and she agrees with me, that this is the best restaurant in Cheltenham. Well done team Prithvi.

As no strangers to fine dining and regular diners at No.5 Winchcombe, Lower Slaughter Manor Hotel, The Mahal Cheltenham and others, we are accustomed to paying reasonable amounts of money for great food and experiences. The Prithvi does deliver on this almost.. We had the tasting menu which completely delivered on taste. The only thing I noted is the unbelievable price of your Sancerre wines - £92 and £60. That is one hell of a crazy markup. We purchase cases in Sancerre from the Vineyard at 8-12 Euro per bottle. In restaurants we know we can expect to pay £38-£48 per bottle which we do without complaint. But £60 or even £92!? That kind of left me thinking someone is as they say "putting the tip in"! The wines are all a little overpriced. We did not buy Sancerre at Prithvi that night on principle and instead enjoyed a Malborough at around the £48 mark. Sometimes, such price gouging can lessen ones experience overall.

Our experience here was nothing short of spectacular. We started with a couple of cocktails in the upstairs bar. The bartender listened to the sort of thing I liked then created me something off menu and spectacular. We then had the tasting menu with some wines recommended by the sommelier, everything was just perfect. The staff were great, the food was great, and the experience was great. If there's one place you need to visit in Cheltenham it's here.

Amazing food, the plating was exceptional. It's a quaint little place with a cozy atmosphere and excellent customer service. Always suggest to go for 6 course tasting menu which allows you to indulge in different options and enjoy the rich flavors.

I went today with my boyfriend for his birthday 🎂.Love all the food and the staff are friendly and polite we even have 2 portions of the bread for the starter and they made a plate with chocolates saying “ Happy birthday” for my boyfriend. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unbelievably beautiful food that tastes as good as it looks, and it looks a million dollars! Our meal was an absolute joy. The staff were attentive and very helpful but the food was the star of the show. The presentation displayed a real talent in the kitchen and it tasted divine. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a special occasion or a good eating experience.

Outstanding food, cocktails and service. The taster menu, caviar, and wine pairing is highly recommended. If they’ve not got a Michelin star then it’s only a matter of time, because this is up there with some of the best restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining in.

This meal is probably in my top 3 dining out experiences of all time. I couldn’t fault the food nor the service. Everything had its place, the flavours were exceptional. I’m sorry to not have gone sooner. A wonderful place to go for a memorable evening.

We came to Prithvi on a recommendation and had the tasting menu for our party of six people. The location (car park opposite a plus in cheltenham) is easy to get to and the setting perfect for a social or business dinner with the right ambience and privacy to do just that. Service is attentive and subtle which just added to a great experience. The quality of the dishes and the perfection of flavours with the various surprises presented to us in-between the courses was just fantastic. A great experience and would highly recommend.

This is a must try restaurant. The food presentation was pure craftsmanship but this was not show over substance. The layering of flavours, along with imaginative cooking techniques was sensational. The front of house matched the superb quality of the food and were efficient and friendly without making you uncomfortable. We had the tasting menu which by the end we were pleasantly full and honestly could not have eaten another bite. This is high quality fine dining but with cocktails, wine, and other drinks came to a price that to me was worth every penny.

Ate there on Saturday night and we were disappointed. My partner had one of the best meals earlier in the year so was keen on going for the first time. It's clear there has been a change of head chef. Two starters, one was so chilled you couldn't taste it. The staff said it would have not have been straight from the fridge, but we never got an answer, but we both got a replacement starter with compliments. Both were ones we didn't choose from the menu originally as we didn't want them! A heavy truffle dish is an acquired taste and couldn't eat it. Mains were fine, but not high quality. Wine was good, a Bordeux. Final touch was a complementary sponge desert which was dry, not moist. Overall a shame but its clear as my partner said a changed menu and a change in the kitchen.

Without doubt the best Indian restaurant I have ever been in.... but not an Indian as you would know it! We had the 2 course a la carte and every dish was a mix of flavours and textures that were very special. Stunning food and service was perfection! The lady that looked after us was the right mix of funny and a little cheeky! Will be back and I live 500 miles away in Scotland!! 👍👍

A small, intimate and cosy setting with great service and well appointed waiters.. the food was very well presented, and tasty.. was great to experience some Indian street food flavours presented in a 5star presentation.. for the indians out there "deconstructed aloo tikki", bhujiya etc.. Quite a surprise to find such a wonderful restaurant in these parts away !!

Our party of 3 visited Privthi for the first time on Thursday evening and we were all incredibly impressed by the overall experience. It feels intimate and the service was impeccable. We chose the tasting menu which included 6 courses and each course was as delicious as the last (it's rare that we can't pick a favourite course). The staff made you feel welcome and looked after, delivering the perfect amount of attention which allowed us to completely relax. It does get booked up quite far in advance if you want a weekend reservation but it was worth the wait in this case. I have decided to go back for my 30th birthday celebration in a few months time and we intend to try out the bar upstairs for pre-dinner drinks. We will be eager to return!

Genuinely one of the best restaurants we’ve been to. We’ve eaten at some wonderful restaurants in London and elsewhere but we adore everything about Prithvi. The combination of flavours at Prithvi is something to behold - the perfect blend of Indian flavours with Cotswold produce. Jay, despite being the owner, has time for every guest and the sommelier, Elliott, is highly knowledgable - the wine pairing with the tasting menu was perfectly done. The entire team is phenomenal - thank you for another wonderful evening and hope to make it over again soon from London!

I have in many Michelin and top rated restaurants in the world. Some great and some not so (except for the bill at the end). This restaurant blew me away. The food was simply excellent. Loved all the dishes. The staff were friendly and professional. The manager was something else. Couldn’t decide between the duck or scallops… i chose the duck and he brings the scallops anyway. Toping up the wine etc… suffice to say he was simply exemplary. Can’t wait to go back. My new favourite restaurant in cheltenham.

We are never disappointed here, menus change regularly and we always end up arguing over who chose the best dish. Staff are so helpful- always ask for wine advice as these guys know their stuff! Managed to get a last minute booking. Tour menu (taster menu ) fabulous. The service was good and attentive without being overbearing. The food was amazing, beautifully presented and very flavourful. It was not just full of chillis which was great for me. Went upstairs to the lounge for after dinner drinks lovely calm atmosphere.Great for a celebration meal

We ate on a Friday night. The small restaurant was full but tables were well spaced creating a nice atmosphere. Service was uniformly good and very friendly from start to finish. We had the tour of Prithvi menu to try out their best and it was well worth it. Starters and mains were stronger than deserts and maybe the fish was a tad over cooked but everything was very good. They had a nice wine list and it was fairly priced. Overall this deserves its credits and deserves your custom.

Due to the pandemic, we have been waiting over a year to experience this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was dark and intimate, service was outstanding and the food was, well, divine. Our thanks to all the staff, but especially Greg who was charming as well as entertaining. It's a gem of a restaurant, right here in Cheltenham.

We had a fantastic evening at Prithvi. From the moment we stepped through the door the service was warm, friendly and attentive, the option to have a pre-dinner cocktail in the bar upstairs was a lovely touch too. The food was just incredible!! Definitely recommend the Lobster and Shrimp main. We spent a few hours in the restaurant and did not feel rushed at all. An absolutely brilliant evening. I don’t often review places, but the service I received here was absolutely incredible. From management to waiters, everyone ensure my fiancé and I were well looked after. It was our anniversary and you all made it one to remember. Oh and the food was incredible too!

Just had a fabuloustake away from the Prithvi @ Home. We had Chicken Breast with Fenugreek & Butternut Squash, Slow Cooked Beef Bhuna, Roasted Cauliflower with Petits Pois, Lemon Herb Rice & a Blue Cheese & Fig Naan Bread. Totally delicious!

The service at this restaurant is impeccable and the interior is smart and elegant. I’m afraid that is where our praise stops. We went with friends and family and chose the tasting menu for us all. We do all appreciate good food and the food itself was tasty and I suppose could be described as exquisite but so so minute it was laughable. The men folk looked on with sunken hearts, we were hungry. With wine and drinks the meal cost a small fortune. It really wasn’t worth it. We sat in the window seat but just had a miserable view of the car park and the drunken queue outside Wetherspoons with police and bouncers intervening. We did have a good time with our friends and still laugh now about the ridiculous price of the evening and put it down to experience and recall the story about the Emperor’s new clothes.

Was treated to Prithvi @ home valentines prestige menu. What can I say, it was absolutely perfect. Every single bite of every dish. Jay and his team produce the highest quality delicious dishes. Sublime!

The best take away we have ever taken! Prithvi at home is good, not as good as visiting in the flesh (dishes to wash) but that is sadly not possible at the moment, as expected though if you have been lucky enough to dine in, the service and food received was as good as it possibly could be, can't wait to come back again. We have visited Prithvi on a number of occasions over the past few years, generally for special occasions and always loved it. Tonight, to celebrate Valentines Day, we had a takeaway (no choice due to lockdown) and it was superb. Thank you to the Prithvi team once again

Under normal circumstances we would have celebrated my husbands special birthday by booking a table at Prithvi, but unfortunately due to the lockdown it wasn’t meant to be. The next best thing was an obvious choice - Prithvi at Home. As expected everything was first class. The Prithvi Team put together a fabulous menu and everything we ordered definitely met the Prithvi standard. We can’t wait until the lockdown lifts to visit the restaurant just because we can, and to celebrate being normal once again.

Had an excellent takeaway during lock down. Food was delicious - we had barbecue duck for starter, chicken and fenugreek main and pistachio profiteroles for dessert. Would highly recommend.

Whilst there are still improvements to be made to their new property, the set menu was truly exceptional in every way - a very talented team in the kitchen and attentive service. Well worth at least one Michelin Star. In my view, the best restaurant in the Cheltenham area by a long way.

Just gorgeous in every way we loved the atmosphere, the warm welcome and the service was impeccable.....!Ate Queen scallops, Goan Prawn curry and the restaurants take on a rum baba just exquisite both in presentation and flavour. If you love fine dining and Indian cuisine this is a must!!! Enough said.

Served luke warm food my biggest complaint was the service... staff looked like they did not enjoy being there and it felt as though they were being very rude they were not smiling and seemed very argumentative and I dont intend on coming back

This is my 5th time back to the Prithvi and it certainly won't be the last (see comments from previous). To put into context how good this restaurant is, I have eaten at a lot of places over the years but none would warrant the 2 hour drive from Portsmouth we took with the family to have dinner, boy was it worth it! Fantastic guys keep up the great work, we'll be back! Trust me if you like attention to detail, impeccable service and top quality food then you won't be disappointed! Taking my 83 year old Mother with me, who deserves a bit of pampering, her words were 'She felt like the Queen...' First class, a very memorable evening, I will certainly be visiting there again!

A superb choice for fine dining with a spice influence. This experience is really the best of both worlds for those who love Asian food and enjoy fine dining.The ambience of the restaurant is welcoming and the staff highly professional. The choice of menu was excellent. My partner had duck to start with followed by venison with a curry sauce in a jug making it,possible to add as little or as much as he wanted. I had a chicken curry served in the same format as the venison. Home made sorbets followed to clear the palate.We will be returning soon.

Prithvi is simply flawless; from the moment you step through the doors to the moment you have to begrudgingly leave at 10pm (thanks Boris). I can't think of a better meal I've ever had. We had the tasting menu and each dish was exquisite, paired with some delicious wines it was a night to remember.
