Quayside Plaza in Great Yarmouth

After speaking with Dan in the furniture shop side of things, we visited and had a great evening and a fanatic meal. Unfortunately we can’t comment of deserts…. As we were asked by three different waitresses if we wanted to look at the deserts menu and after saying yes three times and still not having been given the menu to look at , on the fourth time of being asked we asked for the bill, paid and left. However, despite this we have put this down to it being busy and we will visit again and hopefully have the chance to try deserts too !!

Amazing lunch! A lovely warm welcome and beautiful Surroundings! The wine was amazing, I had tiger prawn salad and hubby had cod with creamy leeks and pancetta, both were absolutely superb!! Would highly recommend this place. All the food we saw coming out looked fantastic.

I've never had anything but great food from here. Their burgers are the best. The meat is cooked perfectly and there are lots of vegetables plus delicious sauce.

This gem was a bit hard to find as it is currently covered in scaffolding while the outside is being renovated. The food, ambiance and service were all excellent. A great menu - we actually opted for the vegetarian, not that we are vegetarians - it just looked so appetizing. They offered to make mine non-dairy because of lactose intolerance, and used soya cream very effectively. Highly recommended - £25 per person all in for a very nice and filling hors d'oeuvre and a great main course. Highly recomended.

Visited here with my daughter and grandparents two weeks ago and wanted to say how impressed we all were. The quality of the meals was of very high standards all round and presented excellently too. Home made desserts were amazing also and I highly recommend the mixed nut frangipane! Everything is very reasonably priced, the service was on point also. It's a place where you can dress smart casual or wear formal and you will not feel out of place. If anyone has a special occasion coming up it's somewhere I'd definitely say is worth bearing in mind, you will not be disappointed. From start to finish, even the coffees to conclude, it all made for a great evening out and left us all with good impressions. Can't wait to return. Thank you Quayside Plaza.

This was my second visit in 2 weeks , the food is absolutely delicious and such good value for money. The atmosphere is perfect and suitable for couples, friends and families. The staff are really attentive and so nice . Our new favourite place to eat .

Visited Quayside Plaza for lunch with family and wasn't disappointed . The sea bass was beautiful, as was the coconut cream caramel. Nothing was too much for the waitress. By far the best restaurant in Great Yarmouth.

what a wonderful place...tucked away by south quay and within the same space as the antique and Indian orientated interiors shop, Magda gave us the most lovely welcome and we then had deliciously tasty, fresh and well thought through food....we will definitely go back to Yarmouth just for this! thank you so much for giving us all such a special lunch...do not hesitate to go there!

I just couldn’t let my experience go unnoticed… Went to quayside plaza with my friend for a lovely Xmas dinner. They did not fail to disappoint! The atmosphere was amazing with the Xmas feel and the jazz band playing in the back ground. The staff are outstanding nothing is too much trouble. The food tasted absolutely amazing ! Everything homemade with lovely little touches such as the mulled wine, canapés and little biscuits.. throughly enjoyed this experience.. I would deffo recommend this place ! Absolutely appalling experience. Ordered the Portuguese burger (supposed to consist of Burger, Egg and Serrano ham and salad. Asked for no tomato’s as intolerant, So the order arrived over half hour late, with no apology for lateness which In itself is bad enough However the burger they delivered ended up being a Piri Piri surf and turf burger with Prawns. I have a shellfish allergy and if I had even taken a bite of this without looking I would have ended up in hospital with very serious ramifications. How they have managed to send this is beyond me. It’s just very poor service all round and in future I will not be using this place as it’s clear they show no care of attention when preparing people’s orders. There only excuse was. That they were very busy , well I suggest you either employ more staff. Or cancel orders if you can’t handle them. A very bad experience that could very well have left me hospitalised

We had our anniversary dinner last night before lockdown which starts today. The seafood specialties and meat specialties were orgasmic. The coconut creme caramel was soft and yummy but not sickly. Go for the baby squid and mix it with their garlic butter - perfection....

The food (mostly seafood for us) was hot and filling which was well received. Nice atmosphere on a rainy evening in Great Yarmouth. There are pieces of art including mirrors set in frames made out of driftwood to purchase. Would go back again if in the area.

We booked at this restaurant following a quick browse on TripAdvisor, and were delighted with our choice.I started with the Smoked salmon and tiger prawn salad, followed by a Chicken stroganoff. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.We chose to accompany our meal with a Portuguese white wine that was unfamiliar to me but also very pleasant and good value.I was pleased to see that the restaurant were taking Coronavirus precautions, for example I spotted them cleaning chairs and other surfaces between customers.We would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Book this restaurant to eat as seen the excellent reviews. Well presented and nice and cosy. Staff were attentive and polite. Nice selection of wine and drinks. Complimentary bread and olives which were really lovely. Ordered lots of seafood starters, all food came out quickly unfortunately all over cooked which was a shame. For mains had the Portuguese steak asked for medium rare, which was well over done aswell.

I just received my first delivery from the quayside plaza as have really missed being able to meet up with friends and eat there due to Covid etc and was curious to see the restaurant listed in Uber eats. I am taken aback by how gorgeous the food is on my table and so beautifully packaged too with organic fresh bread still warm! I cannot rate the food highly enough and it’s just as good as I remember it dining in the restaurant. What a treat! Five stars

Due to Covid 19 Angelo and his team have become a take away via Uber eats. This maybe the one thing that gets us through this crisis. The food tonight was fabulous and it all came with olives and bread and was a real treat to end a very difficult week. Good luck with this move Angelo and we count the days until we can appear in person in the restaurant.I highly recommend this take out and it's a treat to have quality food delivered to your door.

Recommended by a number of people. Love little place. Comfortable and pleasant ambiance. Service excellent from young lady.Delicious olives and bread arrived followed by starter of Clams. They were really nice, very garlicky, nice and hot. Good, but have had better. Our main courses were wrong on a few levels.The baby squid with chorizo: squid was tender but the chorizo appeared/tasted to be a pre packed supermarket type; oily and greasy. The rice became sodden with the greasy juices which then become almost inedible. The accompanying salad was not appropriate. Shavings of beef with pineapple and grapes; no no no! Beef was quite chunky, defo not shavings. Pineapple does not work, grapes just about acceptable. Sauce far too sweet. Beef tasteless. Rice tasted like microwaved packet stuff and salad pointless.We are one half Spanish and both having lived on Mediterranean coast, this food is wrongly advertised as Mediterranean. Saddens me to rate this so low. Maybe other dishes will be more palatable and more appropriately Mediterranean.

Came here last year for the pre Christmas Festive dinner and enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately this time the complete experience was not so good. We have eaten here several times.There was very little Christmas atmosphere being seated in a large very bright lit room, not overly warm and the only reminder of being festive was having Christmas crackers.The meal itself was not so well prepared or cooked to the standard we have become accustomed to in the past.Really not worth £34 per person

Went for a second visit to a 'Christmas Jazz' night and once again had a very tasy meal. The food is not over fussy, good ingredients cooked well which brings out all the flavours. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. Prices are reasonable. I'm not sure the jazz added to our evening as the place isnt really set out very well for that. We couldnt see the band even though we were next to them and it was more of a noisy distraction as we couldnt hear ourselves chat very well over the music. A track playing in the background would have been just as good. If the layout was different I am sure the jazz band could be a good evening as the muscians played well. That sais I like this restaurant very much and will definitely be going again.

Drove past hundreds of times and always wanted to try today I did and it did not disappoint. The food is amazing! The vegetarian options are a scrummy. Will definitely be back. The service is excellent very relaxed atmosphere. So do not drive past.

It was our first visit to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Both the prawn starter and the squid main course were well cooked and presented and the combination of flavours was exceptional. The service was attentive but not overpowering and the atmosphere was good. We can't wait for our next visit to try some more of this really great food!

We used to eat here all the time when we lived locally,so as we where in yarmouth called in,still the same greeted by angelo I had the honey mustard chicken which is my favourite and partner chose salmon with tiger prawns.First you get a basket of warm bread with a pat of butter and olives which is always a lovely touch both meals were first class.We did some shopping and came back for coffee and cake.Its such a relief that this wonderful place has not changed at all.If you go on their website it will give details of the menu and also their theme nights.If you haven't been before make sure you do from the warmth of the staff to the food to the small gift shop which sell all manner of unusual quirky things a real gem for the town.

Wandered down to the old part of Gt Yarmouth looking for the Elizabethan House. We were hoping to find something other than fish and chips for lunch and stumbled on this fantastic restaurant. Wandered in off the street into the amazing building and although it looked full, a customer directed us to another seating area. The menu was interesting and the service great. We were presented with a dish of fresh bread and the best olives I've had in a long time. I can definitely recommend the seafood linguine, which was full of fresh clams. mussels, prawns and other delights in a tasty sauce. The portion was huge so I didn't manage to finish all the pasta. My fellow diner had a salmon dish, which was also great. It is no wonder this restaurant is so highly rated and so popular.

So lucky to have a place like this in the town! The food is fresh and tasty and the staff are friendly. You must visit here! Had a really lovely evening celebrating my birthday and am already looking forward to returning!

Gezellig restaurant met portugese (?) kaart. Prima eten, maar niet zo bijzonder als iit de recensies verwacht. Zowel voorgerecht, main als dessert geprobeerd. De makreel van het hoofdgerecht kwam een dag later nog omhoog. Erg vet. Scampi’s waren wel goed! Portugese Vino Verde was lekker, maar voor de echte kenner wel de goedkoopste die er is. Kortom, leuk etablissement maar verwacht niet heel veel unieks. Bediening was ronduit slecht, de borden gewoon op tafel gezet zonder een woord te zeggen. Verlegenheid? Prijs was prima overigens, voor wat we kregen!

Popped in on a dreary day for lunch

Birthday lunch for 4 of us. Portuguese food and wine. Shout out to the Alvarhino wine which was exceptionally good and very well chilled.

I visited here for an evening with my family, 3 people had steak and 2 had fish everyone thoroughly enjoyed there freshly cooked food the desserts were delicious.eoild recommend visiting here we shall be returning soon

I don’t normally write reviews but after our visit yesterday I really wanted to share our experience. The staff were so friendly from when we entered to when we left, nothing was too much to ask! The waiter kindly put the apple juice I ordered for my 2yr old daughter in a coffee cup with lid and straw and brought over plastic cutlery for her too. Not a big deal but the little touches like that make me love this place even more. The salad I had was amazing and my friend thought the same of her sandwich, she had never been before as she lives in Norwich but said she will definitely be coming back when she’s this way again.

I've been in them all in the town but the steak here is number one. No fuss no frills good home cooked veg but the steak mmmmMMM! Washed down with a Portuguese rose in that famous bottle

We always visit Quayside Plaza in GY on our biannual trips to GY. Great....great food. Best restaurant in GY for me. Good value. But, you need to book.

First time in Great Yarmouth and knew nothing so found this place on Tripadvisor and are glad we did. Absolutely delicious food, friendly staff, and happy to accomodate a lactose allergy. The sirloin steak was superb. Will be the first place we visit on our return to the area.

Eleven of us had a birthday meal at the Plaza and every person raved about the quality of the food. All the main courses arrived perfectly cooked and well presented within two minutes of each other. Good atmosphere and excellent service.

Only stayed for a main course and a bottle of wine between two. Friendly, good service. Huge portions of tasty, Portuguese inspired food with wines to match. An oasis of civilisation on an otherwise bleak street.

What a friendly place , we were so glad to be there as we had a great meal at a very nice price , the staff was spontaneous and helpful , I felt great about eating there.

Visited lunchtime today. Comfortable and rustic interior. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere like a slice of real local Portugal in downtown Great Yarmouth. Whilst waiting for the order we were given some warm bread with lush garlic butter and a bowl of v tasty olives which was a nice touch. The Chicken Stroganoff was probably the best I've tasted and my partner's seafood linguine was pretty good too. Good value for money and will definitely return in the near future.

We had been going to quayside plaza for a few years for coffee. Always very good and amazing home made cake. We had always wanted to go for dinner but as we usually had our grandchildren with us we never went. Not the place for young children in the evening. This year however we were in Great Yarmouth on our own so we booked to go on the Thursday. We went in for our usual coffee on the Monday we arrived and got chatting to the young waitress who was very pleasant. We we went back on Wednesday she recognised us and again was lovely. Thursday evening she was serving us again. Quayside plaza is not just a restaurant serving breakfast lunch dinner and coffee and cake but also a lovely shop at the back of the restaurant. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are in Great Yarmouth make sure you walk down the historic quayside and visit this unique and unusual restaurant where the food is AMAZING

A surprise retirement party took me to this wonderful Portuguese restaurant. It was a Friday and we were one of two larger parties there that night so I did feel a bit sorry for the couples out for a quiet meal, but we were in a mood to celebrate! The staff were fabulous: patiently taking our order and immediately bringing lovely rustic bread, garlic and herb butter and olives to the table. They served our food with speed and panache. Most of our group had fish, two had the steak and all pronounced the food superb! I had seafood linguine, a tad mean with the tiger prawns but with many, many clams and some squid and mussels. It was a very generous portion - phew! The sea bass looked great too. None of us felt we had room for dessert but after looking at the menu, we mostly found we just about had room after all..... The home-made nutty frangipane I chose came with cream or ice cream and was just right: not too sweet. There as a little plate of Portuguese sweets with the coffees. Very reasonably priced, great friendly atmosphere, fantastic food - what's NOT to love about this restaurant??!

I arrived a few minutes early for an 11 am rendezvous and was greeted with a friendly smile and conversation.

6 friends went here for a meal, non of us had been before. Really enjoyed the meal, services was brilliant. It was busy so the food took a long time but the food was very nice. Nice atmosphere but wouldn't say it was for young children.

We visited Quayside Plaza on Saturday evening with family and friends to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The meal was lovely, the service friendly and discreet. Everybody commented on how nice the food was and what good value it was and that they would definitely visit again.

We visited the Quayside Plaza with family for a birthday meal and overall it was lovely (particularly as we booked last minute). We had a few minor issues - the wait between starters and mains was very long, one steak was over cooked and my sister’s dessert of cake was very dry. We didn’t mention the wait or the steak as it was a bit too late and the staff did apologise. However, we did mention the cake. There is no excuse to serve cake that dry. Despite the negatives the rest of the food was fantastic. The piri piri prawns and squid starters were gorgeous. The staff; very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend visiting. They may have just had an off day as previous visits have been fantastic.

Happened to be in Great Yarmouth to meet up with family and booked a table at this restaurant. We were unfortunately held up so we called to say we would be late and the staff were very gracious and said they would hold the table. The food was delicious, we all had different things and everyone enjoyed their dishes and the service was very good and all a fair price. If I was in Great Yarmouth again I would definitely return.

Our party enjoyed their pasta and fish mains . Lovely staff two waitresses as we could see. We waited for the table to be cleared for some while , we asked to see the menu for dessert , it was our intention to have dessert followed by coffee . Aftera 15- 20 minute wait ,we gave up,waited at the counter for the waitress to return paid and left.

We visited yesterday, two couples and three children under 12 between us. The food was delicious, the staff were charming but whoever was in charge had seriously under-staffed the restaurant. Two ladies were running the whole front of house, including making all the drinks and serving the puddings. I don't know how, but they didn't stop smiling all evening, and were cheerful and friendly all the time, but we felt so sorry for them. The kids all had steak, which was amazing, the fish dishes were delicious and well presented, and if it wasn't for the length of time it took every step of the way this would have been a five star review.

Heard lots about this place, I don't know what people are used to eating but our food was rubbish. When we wanted to leave a tip as waiting staff were lovely and made us feel really welcome, we were told the staff did not recieve any of the tip as it went to the boss. Disgusting as the boss already made from the price of totly over rated food, we will not be going back.

Although the service was somewhat slow (put down to time taken to prepare meals ordered) it did not really give cause for concern. The food served was tasty, well presented, hot, and sufficent in quantity. The service during the delivery of drinks and food selection was impressive but there was a long wait (approximately 20 minutes) awaiting our bill after it had been requested. This did let them down somewhat but we decided that we would give 5 stars because generally everything else was excellent. We would certainly visit this venue again and would highly recommend it. I had the best sirloin steak that I had ever had and my wife and three daughters thoroughly enjoyed their large breakfast, strips of beef with pineapple and grapes and the baked salmon.

Fantastic meal in a great atmosphere the staff were above and beyond in helping to make your meal just what you wanted was a very enjoyable birthday meal

Fancied a change for a lunchtime meal and decided on the Quayside Plaza after sampling the food that was supplied to the Drill Hall for the Snow Ball Dance in December.

Tasty food very well presented by friendly staff (efficient but unobtrusive). Quick service and quite large portions. Would definitely recommend.(may need to book)we would absolutely go again next time we're in the area

Went for lunch and had a fabulous pre lunch nibble of warm bread, garlic butter and olives. what a great start to a fabulous meal. happy to return.
