Visited this quaint tea garden in October 2021 and there is so much choice for Coeliacs - I choose the GF cream team which was lovely (my husband had the 'normal' cream tea).Fantastic find on the SW Coastal Path.NB No toilet facilities and outdoor seating only - but well worth a visit.

Been here before on previous holidays but never been in October. Delighted today to find it open on the last day of our holiday. Warm greeting by the owners, the dogs were spoilt with biscuits. Had the most amazing cream tea, scones were fresh and warm and the tastiest we have had whilst here. Well worth a visit whilst in the area, we recommended it to passing walkers when we left.

Hidden away just off the coast path is this quaint tiny tea garden. Small, but perfectly formed, we enjoyed a good size slice of ginger cake which was moist, gingery, not overly sweet and superbly tasty, and a good size slice of carrot cake which was moist, beautifully spiced and with a light as air frosting. (I'm an avid hobby baker so credit where credit is due) The elevated views across the Camel Estuary are just superb.

What a beautiful find this place was! We had tried a couple of cream teas around Cornwall and I have to say this place had the best. The tea was also exceptional, we actually went to the supermarket to buy the brand! The lemon cake was to die for and so weā€™re the views! Over looking the sea, perfect no matter the weather. We were offered umbrellas due to the weather not being the best which made our visit even more comfortable. Such a homely and cosy place to relax after a long day or walk on the beach. Cream teas on a lovely Cornwall afternoon at the Rest a While tea gardens. We drove here from Padstow after searching ā€œbest cream teasā€ and parked about 0.3 miles away as roads started getting a bit narrow for our Van. But the walk was well sign posted and only took 10 minutes. Very close to the South West Coast path so we are sure to visit here again. Very friendly service and lovely scones, the Cornwall way of course! The views over the estuary, you can just catch a glimpse of Rock, are stunning. The walk back along the beach was the cherry on top!

It was very windy when we visited and the use of paper plates, cups, and plastic containers for jam and clotted cream made getting the correct ratio of jam to cream on my scone very tricky and somewhat spoilt the experience for me.Also be aware that although all the signage and advertising states otherwise, sandwiches and jacket potatoes are not on the menu.

We are resident in Cornwall and have visited numerous cafes over the past 18 months in and around the area. Not once have we been met with such a cool reception bordering on rudeness as we were at The Restawhile cafe this morning. It was evident they didnā€™t want visitors but were more than happy to charge inflated prices for their food and drinks. A very disappointing experience and a failure to provide a reasonable level of service.

What a gem of a cafe. So pleased it was recommended to us as despite noticing some signs Iā€™m not sure we would have looked for it as itā€™s discreetly tucked away. We walked along the coastal path from Padstow on a particularly overcast day in July. Itā€™s great to have somewhere to head to and thereā€™s nothing like the thought of an afternoon tea to motivate the soul. The cafe only has a small outdoor seating area and when we arrived there were no free spaces. Thankfully we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. There were four of us and only two chairs but the owner very kindly handed us two extra foldaway chairs. The food was delicious and a welcome reward following our morning trek. Only downside was that as soon as the food arrived, it started to rain... just our luck!!

However if you are following the coastal path towards padstow its very easy to find. Both of us agree this is our favourite cream tea in Cornwall. If you are heading to the headland from Padstow on a walk this is the place you have to stop at for a coffee. An enterprising small set up that hopefully is doing well now that lockdown rules are being relaxed. Essentially a back garden of a house where food and drinks are served through the kitchen window but it works and the views are stunning across the Camel estuary

We happened along this beautiful place accidentally whilst walking the coastal path out of Padstow. How lucky for us! A perfect place to stop, admire the scenery and eat delicious warm scones. Highly recommend.

Such a quaint place for a lovely afternoon tea and a wonderful view over Padstow bay. Only about 5 tables outside and no loos so bear that in mind! Hidden gem for sure.

Visited on a sunny morning last week, fabulous view, as with most places at the moment the menu range is reduced but what was on offer was delicious, promptly served and well worth the visit. Designed as a rest for walkers so I would suggest park in the beach car park or by the no through road sign and walk the rest.

An excellent little tea garden with amazing views over the coast. Canā€™t fault the tea and food. I would offer one point of caution though, I parked in the lower car park, which is signposted customers on the little deliveries|customers sign in front of the two car parks. This was a bad mistake as someone let two of my tyres down by unscrewing the tyre valves. The breakdown recovery driver found the problem and re-inflated the tyres and the problem was solved. I would warn anyone using the tea room and arriving by car to be very careful where you park! Make sure itā€™s the higher of the two car parks that is block paved and not the one that is rough ground just above the lower row of cottages.
