Took my wife for her birthday meal! One of the best meals we have had up here in the Highlands! The tuna and the venison for the main was incredible. Felt so look after from the moment we arrived! Will be back

Slow service, waited 40 min just for them to clear plates. Food was unremarkable. They sold us on the venison as their signature dish but it was not good. Cocktails were sickly sweet.

You read the reviews you expect the best but it’s not until you dine at Rocpool that you truly understand how outstanding the restaurant is. Everyone who is involved in making this restaurant a destination should take a bow. Many thanks for a wonderful experience. If we weren’t so far away we’d be visiting regularly.

Everything about our experience was wonderful. Including that most of the dishes can be done gluten free. Definitely recommend having this on your list.

Having arrived after braving floodwaters in the wake of Storm Babet and horizontal pelting rain at Culloden, we were desperate for some good food. Rocpool’s offerings are based on local ingredients with a very fine method of preparation which brings out the best in the individual parts. Every dish was exquisitely made and presented - of special note was the duck ragu papardelle which would expect to find in a high quality restaurant in Rome. Would 100% recommend to anyone after a quality feed in Inverness.

Unable to fault the Rocpool. From the moment we arrived until we left we felt so welcome. All members of staff were so attentive, friendly and professional. A special venue for a significant family occasion. Thank you, one and all.

Smart, innovative food pulling from local resources but with surprising flavors. Cocktails were fabulous and the price point for the quality is mind-blowing. Add to it the service was the right blend of cheeky, knowledgeable and kind. So glad we found this gem on our Scottish holiday!

Beautiful meal. Service superlative. Even got mini fireworks on pavlova because it was a special anniversary.

Try their lemon meringue tart! This has now been replaced with a Queen of Puddings. I didn't mind in the least!

Was here for my birthday and i must say, this was a very good decision. The steak was exceptional. We were served by a gorgeous lady called Sera, who was so thoughtfull. she played a of a birthday song and made my day extra special. The price though is on the highend but i would highly recommend the place.

The food here was absolutely fantastic. It rates in my top 5 best meals ever. Plating was lovely, food was delicious. Venison loin was tender and melt in your mouth. I wish I’d had room for dessert. Service was great. Just be aware that as an American service can seem kind of slow… that’s how it’s supposed to be. In the states we’re practically rushed through meals. The pace here was perfect and relaxed. My only complaint was that the seating is very tight and you get real cozy with whoever is dining at the table next to you. Would’ve liked things a bit more private. Make a reservation in advance. If you don’t, you won’t get a table.

A very happy place to eat at. Amazing food - high quality ingredients, cooked with love, generous portions. Everything tasted delicious. The staff were equally amazing - attentive, warm, welcoming. It was the perfect ending to our day. ( Earlier we had had a fab time on an Inverness Bike Tour with Alison). The restaurant was totally full, and I can appreciate why! Well worth booking in advance.

This place has been around for more than 20 years but it has not declined in taste over time. I have been there many many years ago and it still gives pleasure to the palate. Surely one of the best places to eat in Inverness. Interior at certain places could need a slight adaptation of style but people are happy to look the other way for the tasty fair they get. Would come back for sure.

Very nicely presented food, at lunch starter and main were medium portions but enough, very tasty. Free water, bread and butter. Nice washrooms downstrairs.

Super good experience in a beautiful restaurant in front of the Ness river. Regarding the quality of the courses, I believe that the photos are better than any description.

Probably one of the nicest meals I have ever had. Food absolutely delicious, service impeccable, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Although busy, the restaurant didn’t get too loud which made conversation much easier in comparison to some places. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Rocpool is our very favourite restaurant Steven and his team always make you feel like royalty with impeccable service and food to die for. You can enjoy an extremely fine wine by the glass (if your partner is driving!) and everything from the bread to the coffee with amazing tablet is divine. I never leave Rocpool without having my next booking in the diary! Last night I had a perfectly cooked steak with Parmesan crusted polenta and wild mushrooms - divine!!! I can never eat more than one course but my son had the cheesecake which was demolished with gusto and my husband ate a fabulous monkfish with a perfect risotto. Book ahead - you’ll not get in otherwise!!

The food was amazing especially the desserts. we tried all of them and I would recommend the pavlova and the sorbet for something different. The service was great and helpful. The place definitely deserves the reputation. Of course it is pricy for that is expected. If you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Inverness this is the place for you.

The restaurant looks unassuming and doesn’t have a river view, but the food is surprisingly excellent, delicious and thoughtfully presented. The service is also welcoming and helpful. Wish the sourdough is toasted. It’s already so fragrant and malty eaten cold… I was seriously wavering between venison and halibut (as our table already ordered one red meat)— the recommendation? “Venison’s the best on the menu”. — Yes indeed. The venison is tender and aromatic, much more interesting than the sirloin :> The creamed parsnips go perfectly well with the haggis. The crisps are unnecessary. It’s nice to try to add some crunchiness to the texture but it’s already soggy because of the cream and/or haggis anyways. One small suggestion: perhaps some toasted nuts would work better here. 🤔️ The sirloin is still quite good. The truffle oil is lovely. The golden Parmesan is crispy outside and creamy inside, super indulgent. Pappardelle with duck ragu is very tasty, full of flavorful and tender duck meat. The pasta is cooked quite well. Not the most bouncy one I’ve had but good enough. Crab and watermelon salad is so beautiful in a cocktail cup— the table next to us was curious and asked about it. The crab tastes fresh and sweet. The restroom is very, very impressive XD sorry for the spoiler.

My favourite restaurant in Inverness. Excellent food and outstanding service.

I recently dined at Rocpool in Inverness and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. The restaurant seems overpriced considering the quality of the food. I ordered the duck, which was served with Greek tzatziki. The combination was quite strange and not particularly tasty or enjoyable. I left the dish uneaten and provided feedback to the friendly staff, but unfortunately, nothing was done to address the issue. Overall, I would not recommend Rocpool based on my experience.

Didn’t expect average food at this hyped Michelin-starred restaurant. Ordered meatballs as a starter then their duck. The meatballs had a sweet chili sauce that tasted right out of the bottle. There was a nice “latke” on the plate but the dish didn’t gel. The entre duck was surrounded by interesting flavors from the rice pilaf to the carrot but the duck itself was tasteless. I Love Duck so I know when it’s good. This duck tasted frozen, tasteless. Wow what a disappointment! I’m back to roasting my own. And it was expensive. Bummed.

Great experience overall. Chanterelles and black pudding w egg is an interesting play on the full Scottish breakfast! Cod was delicious and paired nicely with the Grenache Gris.

Sensational. Best meal so far on our holiday and that’s saying something, after being in France for a few weeks! Entree was to die for. Staff were attentive as well as entertaining. Perfect romantic dinner with my hubby.

A first class dining experience

If I could give the Rockpool a Michelin star I would give it 3 . Absolutely the best meal we have had in a long time . Explosion's of taste on ever plate . Attention to detail on food .. Amazing combination of flavours.. Fantastic choice of starters , mains and deserts . We had the crab and sweetcorn soup outstanding. Courgette flowers . Chilli chicken like I have never tasted ! And seafood linguine ..Thank you Rockpool Team for getting everything right .

Food and service is excellent if expensive.

A wonderful birthday meal for my partner. The staff were welcoming and attentive. They brought out his cake with a sparkler they added which was a nice touch. The food was the star of the show. I had the duck parpadelle which was one of the most tasty things I've ever had. The mains were also incredible and the peach bellini I personally loved. I would highly recommend choosing here for any occasion. Choose an affogato for desert which was beautifully presented. Overall, wonderful experience!

The whole experience was absolutely fantastic. The staff are wonderfully friendly and welcoming, very thorough and attentive throughout our evening. The cocktails were great, I particularly liked the Peach Bellini! The food was just incredible, we had 3 courses each and left our plates clean!! Everything was cooked well, the flavours complemented each other and the portion sizes were spot on. 10/10 from myself and my partner. As a guide to price for the evening, for the two of us, we had 3 courses each, a cocktail each and a glass of wine for approximately £150. It was in my opinion worth every penny!

This was a lovely meal. The food, wine, and personalized service made for a very special evening. Our server Sarah did not just take an order and bring out food. She was engaging, helpful and spent time with us at the table When she saw that we were unable to decide on a wine, she brought over Amy, the sommelier, who was beyond helpful. She listened to the type of wines we like before making any suggestions. Then she nailed it. Some of the best service we have received. The food matched. From the beef carpaccio, to the linguine and the halibut, all were delicious. We ended our meal with the recommended Affogato. Perfect and yummy!

We had a lovely 2 coarse lunch. Staff were lovely. Lunch was reasonably priced. My only negative was that the drinks were very expensive, hence we just drank water.

Very nice restaurant in the heart of Inverness. Location would tell you it is touristy, but that is not the case. Excellent dishes with extremely fresh and local vegetables, seafood, and meats. 2-course dinner for 30 GBP is an amazing deal. Highly recommend!

Rocpool is quite simply the best restaurant in Inverness and has been for many, many years. My London pal says it would prosper in London and that really does say it all. The food is exquisite; absolutely exceptional. The same goes for the wine list, which explains why we spent so much!8

All the food we ordered tasted really good,especially those risotto, but they took a bit long to give us our mains and that’s the only thing.

Scallops and halibut were amazing, service was a bit slow.
