Spurreli in Northumberland

Called here (again) this time with some friends for their first time. Lovely friendly staff who are so friendly and wicked sense of humour. Lovely selection of cakes and snacks but a marvellous selection of ice creams (elderflower and ginger was fab). We’ll worth a visit plenty if space inside and outside seating for nicer weather. Immaculate and nice homely but contemporary interior.

We were on holiday in Beadnell, it was a rainy day, so we did the 90 minutes round trip just to get a Spurreli's ice cream. Plenty of flavours, and they have such a deep taste to them. The blackberry crumble and rhubarb crumble ones I had were to die for.

Visited these guys for a drink & a snack. The staff are friendly & welcoming & they have a great choice of drinks, cakes & ice-cream. They have seating inside & out (if you bring your dog). We loved it & will definitely return.

Been a few times when in the area, great morning coffee & cake stop or for a delicious home made afternoon ice cream. Can sit outside under the canopy, with the dogs on our walk.

Great range of ice cream flavours. We can recommend the Sea Buckthorn and the chocolate one. Good coffee too. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

We were in Amble for a family getaway. After a walk along the waterfront, we couldn’t help but stop here. So many delicious flavors. Our favourite was the dark Belgian chocolate, and our granddaughter had the bubble gum. I must say it’s the most natural tasting bubblegum flavour I’ve ever tried. Lots of good seating inside for families. The staff were ever so helpful when the kids couldn’t finish their ice creams that they barely touched, and wrapped them up securely with plastic wrap. If you didn’t have the ice cream, there were lots of choices for hot drinks, and some very tempting sweets. I can see this would be a favourite for Locaks and Travellers alike !

Really really good ice-cream with a great variety of flavours and cone variations. It’s very popular so be prepared to queue. But do not miss it’s gorgeous.

Just stopped off for a coffee and ice cream. Coffee was lovely and the ice cream was lush. Nice little touches like a biscuit with the coffee. Nice area outside (under cover!) to sit. Perfect for having dogs. I’d definitely go again.

A fantastic stop-off, comfortable surroundings, very welcoming staff and an impressive range of coffees & ice-cream! You can sit inside or outside and the ice-cream is some of the best I've ever had! Well worth a visit!

Best ice cream I’ve had in years. I had a double scoop of dairy and honeycomb flavours. Huge! Very creamy and reminded me of Italian made ice creams from my childhood. Very pleasant service too. I can’t wait to go back!

I have visited three times in five days, twice with my partner and once on my own. We love the place, it oozes quality. We have coffee and cake, I’ve had both the coconut cake and coffee and nut cake, both were fabulous, accompanied by a very nice Americano. While we haven’t had the special ice creams, I have to say they look amazing and are massively popular..The place is absolutely immaculate and the COVID precautions are the best I’ve seen anywhere and we’ve been in many establishments. I couldn’t help but mention how impressed I was to the owner, it is a perfect example of how things should be done. The staff are so friendly and professional at the same time. Well done to all involved we will be regulars!

A family holiday brought us to visit Sporelli and it did not disappoint. The 2 ladies who work there are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. My son was overwhelmed by the choice and they were so patient with him. He ended up with a huge ice cream ( birthday treat) which we shared and I must say it was delightful. The prices were very reasonable and the shop was clean, tidy and welcoming.

Good points are the ice creams are nice with a good choice of flavours. Bad points a bit pricey. I think the price of a coffee in a takeaway cup is a bit steep.

Small outdoor area with picnic tables was super for us, able to sit outside with the dog whilst enjoying our ice cream. Small selection of flavours available from the outdoor cabin but still delicious and huge scoops! I liked the elderberry and ginger flavour. Friendly, efficient service.

Tip : if you just fancy an ice cream cornet, go for the single scoop - the doubles are massive. So big that the lady serving me broke two cornets with their weight of ice cream before the third attempt stayed inside (but began melting immediately, despite the overcast/raincoming weather). Don't have a double just before lunch like I did, you'll fill up. Can only vouch for the vanilla and pistachio flavours - very nice. Has a little garden next door where you could sit at picnic style benches to eat, it appears. Next to the Harbour Village popup setup.

Lovely ice cream shop with good range of flavours and helpful staff. A lot of social distancing measures in place. They are not doing sundaes at the moment as they have a limited range.Despite notices to ask customers to clear up after themselves many thought it did not apply to them and there were wasps all over the place after the ice cream which had been spilled on the tables. No the staff’s fault at all and hugely irritating. Very helpful staff who will give you a sample of whatever you want.

Fabulous products and service with a smile. What’s not to love.After a day at Druridge we had to come for treats before heading home. A chocolate tub and flake x2 for the children. Coconut and lime tub for The Mrs and a triple tub for me. Cherry, mango and passion fruit and pistachio. All were excellent. There’s also a smaller selection of ice cream available in the garden beside the main shop. So if the queue is bad and you’re happy with the smaller choice then head in there to save time.

Covid issues aside with poorly behaved other patrons the ice cream itself was disappointing. If you are going to trade on the whole Italian Ice Cream parlour thing make sure that your ice cream is special, tasty and full bodied. This was somewhat watery and lacking in flavour. For that price they should do better.

Called in today and although we had to queue for half an hour, it was worth the wait for delicious ice creams, friendly service and reasonable prices. Will definitely return!

Visited at the start of last week - 2 adults and a 14 year old. Served politely, promptly and enjoyed the ice cream. We thought we would make a return trip three days later - once again, 2 adults and a 14 year old. The lady behind the counter immediately ORDERED my husband out - "only one adult allowed, and there are 3 of you". We pointed out that our daughter was 14, but my husband was still told to leave. The server then said that "really you're only allowed one adult". (There is no signage outside saying this). Again I pointed out our daughter was 14! Not good enough apparently. I said that we had been served three days earlier with no problem. Apparently this still wasn't good enough. My husband re-joined the queue. A further 20 minute wait. I bought an icecream for our daughter, but my husband and I gave up.The icecream is very good there, but the server was rude, aggressive and abrupt. We were appalled to have been spoken to in such a way. We all wore masks, maintained social distance well behind the lines on the floor, and were polite, if somewhat incredulous, that what was acceptable on a Monday was not (to the point of dreadful rudeness) on a Thursday. It's such a shame - we have visited before but we won't again. None of us wish to be spoken to in such a rude manner again.

We found this ice cream shop via social media and were very impressed by the range of interesting flavours and aesthetics. On arrival there was a queue outside with insubstantial social distancing markings which weren’t adhered to by other customers. This was very concerning and lead us to take the ice cream away instead of eating in. The staff were friendly but not very helpful. The ice cream was reasonably priced at £5 for a half litre, however the taste wasn’t as exceptional as expected. A little more prep would go a long way as the summer crowds return.

I can only comment on the gelato which was fantastic! Lots of flavours to choose from. No wonder there was a 20 minute queue what with social distancing. We were asked to leave the outdoor seating area as they were closing so had to finish along the seafront.

We've been getting an ice cream tub as a treat from Spurreli's in Amble - when back home on a visit - often but was dissapointed In the ice cream this time - a bit watery and not as flavoursome as usual.I had my usual run and raised n hubby usually has vanilla but as no vanilla had an unusual combination for him - cherry and vanilla. He too was dissapointed in the ice cream as it was watery.Will definatley try it again next time.
