Best pub ever in the whole wide world. The food, the music, the drinks, THE STAFF - amazing! A total must visit if you are in London

I have visited this lovely pub on many occasions now. I love the cosy, friendly vibe of the place. The service is always on point and the staff seem happy to be at work and are always happy to help. I've only ever been in on a Sunday, my last visit was a solo one and prior to that, I have been with my partner and/or friends. Their roast is divine!! My only issue last time was that they didn't have cauliflower cheese back on the menu :) The drinks selection is wonderful, I sat at the bar during my last visit and the young lady being the bar was more than happy to indulge me in a few of my cocktail requests and they surpassed my expectations. I can't wait to visit again!

Wife and I visited for Sunday lunch yesterday. Lovely roast dinner, the staff were attentive and kept the drinks flowing. Definitely recommend this place, we will go back for sure.

Booked lunch whilst visiting London for a gig. Fabulous little pub; lovely vibe and the young bar staff so welcoming and warm. Plus food very tasty indeed! Not cheap, but thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Would return if ever passing through again

A return after a long time to a pub well known for its roasts The pub was relatively empty even though it was a Sunday, and 1 p.m. but a bit later it filled up There is a good choice of different roasts, and we went for the beef and the lamb As a starter I had the pork terrine which was good, a basket of bread was execellent - with a variety of foccacio, fennel and olive bread The roasts were very good with generous trimmings of greens, carrots, roast potatoes, parsnips and Yorkshire pudding with a little pot of gravy and horesradish cream and mint sauce To finish we shared the honeycomb ice cream very good, and mango sorbet - not so good, it was full of ice crystals - maybe melted and refrozen? There is a good choice of wine but prices escalate rapidly - we settled on a Mendoza Malbec which was perfect with the roast red meats and was nice and at a reasonable price Service is good

We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the back room with the well tended fire. Enjoyed everything we ordered - charcuterie board, ox cheek, fish & chips, and burger. Cake w/ vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce was fantastic as well.

Just had the best Sunday lunch. Not rushed, great food, great service and staff that engage and chat - what more can you ask for. Well done guys great to have you as new neighbours.

This was my first visit to our local pub since it reopened in mid-November following a period of closure. It is now under new management who have given the place a make-over while retaining the amazing old bar which is the focal point of this traditional London pub. First impressions are good. It looks great and cared for again, it was pretty full for a mid-week evening - a combination of those eating and the regulars in for a drink. The small back room, which was always slightly awkward to sit in has had banquettes installed which really help to make best use of the space plus a plush curtain to soften the opening which really helps to cosy it up. The service is great - attentive staff who make you feel welcome and are busy taking care of people. The menu looks appealing with a combination of traditional pub dishes such as burger, steak or fish and chips alongside a couple of more gourmet plates such as pheasant. There are a handful each of starters and desserts too. I ordered the Wagyu burger with handcut chips. It was ok, but nothing extraordinary. It arrived alone on the plate with the chips in a little pot on the side, no garnish or anything else so it looks a little lost. The burger itself was very tasty but not a big a patty as you might expect, inside was a single lettuce leaf and a slice of large tomato plus some kind of jam which was also tasty. The bun was nothing special, the reletively thin kind you would buy in the supermarket - no sesame, not a brioche etc - so quite disappointing. The chips were ok, I’m not entirely such they weren’t frozen rather than handcut. In a nutshell, it was perfectly edible but nothing special and probably not worth the c£18 charged as it felt like the kind of burger and chips you could put together at home. All in all I would say, welcome back Andover, we’ve missed you, and good luck to the new landlords, we really want you to succeed. But I think for the prices charged for the food you need to up your game a little in terms of presentation and those extra touches that make the difference to a dish such as the humble burger to elevate it to the next level.

Staying at an AirBnb right around the corner, of course I had to try the Local pub. The second evening I came in, I was treated like a regular and had made fast friends with several of the lovely characters there! While the time they open can be a bit unpredictable, I am overjoyed to have spent a couple of sunny summer afternoons and cool summer evenings of my London visit chatting, eating and drinking on the front patio! Service was quite good and the food -- typical pub fare-- was excellent and I very much enjoyed my first London Bangers and Mash! If you want a touristy visit to Hammersmith, stay over by the Tube station and the Great West Road. However, If you want to visit an authentic London Local, I can't imagine that there are any better examples than this!

Visited this pub based on TripAdvisor reviews. First impressions were good, it’s a traditional London local pub and authentic. Service was fine, a bit uninformed and disjointed, but we’ve got a hospitality staffing crisis so that’s forgivable. Food really wasn’t good though. Handwritten menus are cute but difficult to read. When our two mains arrived one was scampi & chips which was standard and un-mess-up-able really. The second was sausage & mash which was truly awful. Horrible excessively lumpy mashed potato with overcooked sausages which had absolutely definitely been either reheated in a microwave or rehashed in an oven - definitely not cooked fresh. Yet that was the special of the day. Lazy kitchen I’d say. Also we were the only good customers do it wasn’t busy. Cheap & cheerful but I certainly did not see or eat anything that merits four or five ratings.

An old cozy pub in a quiet area. Popular for esting. Had dinner with paella, which was very good, and served very hot. Good shellfish included, but difficult to get the shells of due to the heat. Very nice service, and good wines by the glass

So glad to see theAndover Arms open again and under new ownership, looks amazing and clean. Very busy Friday evening with locals and visitors enjoying an end of week tipple and some tasty complimentary nibbles courtesy of new hosts John and Sharon , really great vibe. Fancied more of a sit down meal this evening but unfortunately the kitchen won’t launch till next week but I’ve been informed by Sharon that new Chef JP will mesmerise all with his culenary talent,very exciting. I was in the area visiting friends and revisiting some old haunts when I ventured in to the Andover. Looks like it's had a nice refresh recently but still retains that charm. Well-kept selection of ale on keg and a healthy font of lager available. Kitchen wasn't operational but the new landlord assured me it would be up and running after the 28th April. Seems to me he's got the right idea, and seemed to be a knowledgeable guy. I wish he and his team well in their venture. I was only in for two pints (maybe three) but the atmosphere was excellent. Next time I'm in the area you can be sure I'll pop in and see what else the Andover has to offer.

Nice place to come and chill in after being out for dinner in a nearby restaurant. Didn't eat here so don't know what the food is like. Came for a drink and it was nice place to hang and feels cosy and inviting.

The Andover Arms was so good on the first trip that we returned two nights later because my wife liked my steak pie so much on the first visit!!! The lamb shoulder was also very tender and cooked to perfection. This was our favorite place...

Within a brisk walk of the Eventim Apollo, we parked here for an early evening roast before going to see a Dido concert. Great atmosphere, decent wine at a reasonable price and a very good roast. I had the beef and it was very tender. A little pricey but hey this is West London. Nice real fire in the dining area which could have been a bit chilly otherwise. The owners had created a very nice ambience with fairy lights all around the bar area, and service was really friendly, just as well as 12.5% is added automatically to the bill, so avoided the unpleasantness of asking for it to be taken off! Located in a back street area, not the most welcoming from the outside but worth venturing inside for sure.

Buen pub, excelente personal, carta de vinos sólida que no le cobra precios ridículos en inglés, un buen ambiente y un pastel para morirse. Si no te gustan los pasteles, el chef tiene muchos más trucos bajo la manga, pero sería una tontería no probar el pastel. . .

J’avais envie d’aller manger dans un pub avec ma femme et mes filles et nous nous sommes régalés . Ambiance, feu de cheminée, personnel au top. Je ne parle pas très bien l’anglais mais les serveurs a été au top. Merci pour se bon moment.

Ce pub est à l'écart des lieux touristiques et semble être fréquenté par une clientèle d'habitués. Ambiance cosi et Excellent accueil : le barman nous propose même de goûter différentes bières avant de faire notre choix. Les plats, sans prétentions, sont très bons et certainement faits maison.

Ho cenato qui durante il mio soggiorno a Londra , il pub é tipico inglese, tavoli in legno e luce soffusa, molto dog friendly infatti nel locale vi erano cani con i rispettivi proprietari , si respirava una bella atmosfera , come se si entrasse ospiti in una casa piuttosto che in un pub. I proprietari sono simpaticissimi e super cordiali, i piatti veramente buoni, la carne succulenta , i prezzi giusti per gli standard di Londra. Consiglio vivamente questo locale nel quartiere di Hammersmith.

Yummy, yum, yum! Good service and well cooked Sunday roast. Had a visiting friend from over seas and stumbled upon this local pub in the backstreets of Hammersmith. Pleasantly surprised at how friendly they were.

We were slightly nervous about booking here, as we discovered that there had been a change from the previous management. However, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Possibly the best roast potatoes that I've ever been served in a pub, and our children's fish and chips was exceptional. Very good value for money, and only slightly let down by perfunctory service and a limited wine list (although the Rioja was good).

A great experience! From the enthusiastic and attentive waiters to the freshly prepared food. It was excellent quality and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! I had the steak and ale pie with mash while my boyfriend had pork roast with crackling and all the trimmings. All so tasty! We really liked the decor as well - a homely feel with unique tables and chairs. A must visit!

Was looking for a pub in Hammersmith for some drinks and food away from the usual river pubs. This pub came with excellent reviews and as it had been many years since checking out Brackenberry village we gave it a go. Very friendly and good atmosphere; it is clearly a favourite with the locals. Had that feel of what pubs used to be like - very much part of the local community. Some good beers and decent wine selection for our meal. Food was good but not as great, as we had expected, having read some of the reviews here on TA. The waitress was terrific and a really engaging person. Dry wit aplenty and very helpful. The only problem (and it was a fairly big issue) is that she was all on her own serving all the tables and so we found ourselves waiting for things we had asked for for quite some time. Water, sauces, napkins.......more staff, please. Prices were as expected for a London pub. A good evening out. Will return.

We went to this pub because we were impressed of the positive comments here and were not disappointed. Lovely place, a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very kind and attentive but the most interesting thing is the food, which is very good and definitely higher than the usual standards that you would find in a pub.

Good size portions , vegetables are not soggy , lots gravy and sauces . Have tried all roasts and love them all

Just moved in round the corner from this pub. Delighted to say it’s an absolutely wonderful place. Ate last night with my sister. Food was first class (halibut and Thai curry). Staff exceptional. Joe and team made everyone welcome. And spoiled our two dogs rotten -we’ll be back. Thanks

Looking for a typical old school English pub in London to take friends to and found this pub. With so many gastro and chain pubs dominating the market I have sort of given up on finding any proper old school pubs. Completely blown away by my experience at the Andover Arms. Lovely village vibe, friendly staff interacting with locals and food to die for. Everything about this place made me feel like I wasn’t in London, we all felt like we were in a countryside pub.. it was only when we got to Hammersmith station did the illusion sadly die off.

Recently moved to Hammersmith and a few people had recommended us to come over here. We visited here with a few friends and were blown away by the quality of the food, we had the lamb shoulder which was recommended to us by the waitress it has to be hands down one of the best lamb dishes I have ever tried. Everyone else loved their food also- I got to try the mahi mahi also which was fantastic.

I used to come every so often with friends or family before the pub closed for a few months last year. Great food especially the Sunday roast (including the veggie option) and lovely staff. I came on a Sunday in Feb, food was "ok", but the staff was rude. It was not the same people. I asked to the people who were with me to be sure that I have not misread something. The feeling was shared. Feel very sorry for this hidden gem, hope that it will come back to its greatness.

We had a very nice dinner in this restaurant. The burger was great and the fish and chips perfect. We can recommend this place. If you are here in winter..., make sure that you wear warm clothes. It is chilly with the door going open often.

Io e la mia ragazza siamo andati di venerdì sera. Abbiamo prenotato un tavolo con circa un'ora di anticipo. Abbiamo preso entrambi un'unica portata con una pie molto buono e molto ricca. La nota più importante però va sicuramente al locale che è dotato di un'ottima illuminazione,tavoli di legno e sedie di legno di variopinte forme e dimensioni. Il non plus ultra è il caminetto in fondo alla sala con dei ciocchi posti davanti sul pavimento che occasionalmente ho visto prendere molto serenamente a qualche cliente. Servizio accogliente,personale gentile e per niente invadente. Davvero un bel posto.

Totally unexpected, booked in the morning via Opentable in the last day of the year. We have eaten a lot of very tasty food!! Next time in London I would like to come back and I strongly recommend everyone to get in!!

I have been living in this neighbourhood for fifteen years now and have heard a few word of mouth recommendations for the Andover. I normally lean towards the more "gastro" gastropubs (like the Anglesea not far away) but had a very enjoyable dinner at the Andover a few nights ago. The menu seems to consist of an appealing mix of traditional pub grub and more sophisticated gastropub style dishes. We had two dishes in the latter category and both were excellent, as good as one would find in any of the nearby restaurants. Service was friendly and down to earth. And the ambiance was enjoyably warm and not too noisy. This is indeed a neighbourhood "gem" as many reviewers say. The only area in which the Andover doesn't match its competitors is the wine list which is rather short and not particularly inspiring -- I would have hoped that food of this quality would be paired with a more extensive wine list and better quality of wine. We had a Chablis costing £40 (the most expensive white wine on the list) which could only be described as, at best, OK. The situation could easily be remedied by a trip to Majestic at the top of Brackenbury Road, although I wonder if this is a brewery-owned pub which does not have the freedom to design its own wine list. Still, I will go again!

Really nice neighbourhood pub, with pretty good food. Dining companion's steak and kidney pie was deemed delicious, and my fish pie was pretty good. I'd prefer more different fish, and maybe a prawn or two, but it was tasty enough. Nice pint of Pride too.

Finalmente sono riuscita ad andare a cenare in questo pub che all esterno si presenta come tale ma che all interno in realtà è un ristorante molto caratteristico ed elegante con decori natalizi, visto il periodo, molto gradevoli. Abbiamo cenato in una saletta con il camino acceso...il cibo è stato ottimo, buonissimi pie ed uno stinco di agnello di rara bontà; idem per le zuppe del giorno (patate e porri). Anche i dessert buonissimi è perfettamente presentati (ottimo apple crumble con frutti di bosco caldi). Il servizio poi....una carinissima cameriera di squisita cortesia e gentilezza. Al termine della cena ci ha offerto dei tipici biscottini natalizi, buonissimi. Conto adeguatissimo. Ci hanno anche prenotato il taxi. Siamo stati davvero molto molto bene. Complimenti! Da andare senza alcun dubbio!

Mi familia y yo estuvimos en Londres por una noche. Aisha nos atendió. Ella fue amable y proporcionó sugerencias útiles. Todo lo que pedimos estaba delicioso y muy bien presentado. La comida es muy típica de lo que uno puede esperar en un pub tradicional, el menú presenta el pastel de Shepard, pescado y papas fritas, así como carne. El ambiente era acogedor y jovial, pero acogedor e íntimo. La iluminación es tenue y nuestra mesa tenía una vela blanca en el centro, que era un buen toque. En general, el Andover Arms es un pequeño y pintoresco pub con muchos lugareños, una pareja que trajo a sus perros a lo largo.

We ordered a plate with chicken liver pate, spiced apple, and bread which was ok, a clam chowder soup which was excellent, and fish and chips which was decent (not my favor plate). This is a place to have a good beer and a scotch.

Regresó para apoyar a nuestro pub local ahora que ha reabierto bajo nueva administración. Me complace informar que la comida es tan deliciosa como siempre lo fue, probablemente incluso mejor de lo que había sido antes de que se cerrara. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Came here with family this Sunday, the roast was perfection. Friendly service, the landlady was very helpful. Quaint, comfortable backstreet pub. A bit difficult to find but the place made up for getting lost twice. Everyone left happy.

Rarely ever leave reviews of pubs, had to for the Andover. A small stretch away from Hammersmith station, but one of the best pubs I’ve ever been to. Good beer, wine & food. Filled with locals and diners. If you haven’t been you’re missing out.

Came here on Thursday night pub was very busy and what seemed to me a very local pub, we had some beers and food. Both me and my partner who had the fish dishes were blown away by the food! We had the sweetest waitress, Aesha, who kept us happy and entertained all night. Definitely recommend it. Will go back to try more food!

Good food. Good beer. Good atmosphere. It’s a good spot. 3rd visit this month. It’s my new favourite place.

Re-opened today under new management after a 4 month break. Not much has changed which is great, as this was and now is again one of the best pubs in London

Pub nel quartiere di Hammersmith, zona tranquilla, atmosfera calda e accogliente, pie di carne molto buono, birra inglese un po’ meno. Servizio ottimo e veloce. Alla fine abbiamo preso un brownie al cioccolato e un whisky invecchiato 16 anni. Locale consigliato se si ha tempo!

Thought we would come in here and have a few drinks before evening meal. Really lovelly pub and when we saw food being served, we ordered and ate here. Awesome. Would definitely come back.
