The Berwyn Restaurant in Denbighshire

Amazing hospitality for the annual review of our group. The care taken to give us an excellent meal in congenial surroundings was more than we could have hoped for. This made for a wonderful evening.

What a diamond this restaurant is. Caroline and Chris go out of their way to provide a personal service and excellent food, in a cosy ambience. We were a large group asking for an early Xmas meal, and we were not disappointed. Hot food in ideal quantities of the highest standards. Starters and desserts were fabulous in their own right. Good selection of drinks available.

We visited with our friends on a long weekend visit to the area with a total of 3 dogs. We were welcomed with a very friendly atmosphere, and the starters and mains were of excellent quality and very tasty. Then we come to the puddings. The puddings take the quality to another level. Not only do they look amazing but taste amazing as well. All at a fairly reasonable price for the standard, quality and quantity of food. Thank you very much. We all had a great evening. If I ever visit the area again, I would definitely revisit and recommend that others staying in the area do likewise.

Me & my husband booked this restaurant twice ahead of a weeks stay in Corwen, purely off the reviews. It did not disappoint. We booked the Sunday lunch which was one of the nicest we have ever had. The roast potatoes were to die for. The portions are very generous and So are the desserts, which there is a good choice. We had also booked for dinner on our last night and again the food was amazing. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The couple that run it are so friendly and welcoming. You definitely will not leave this restaurant hungry. We will definitely bd back when we are next in the area😊

Like many other people, my wife and I were amazed by the great reviews for the food and service at this relatively small restaurant in Llandrillo. We were staying in Corwen, the night before going to a wedding, and we were very lucky indeed to get a table for 8pm. We were not disappointed - Caroline and Chris are both very welcoming, attentive and the food is simply stunning (and the wine was great too). Chris is a magician! He really is brilliant at what he does. He is so thorough and he has clearly spent many years honing his craft – there is so much attention to detail. If you (and your family and friends) like good food, then this is the place to go! The flavours, textures, temperatures and presentation of the food are all excellent. The size of the portions are really good and sensible and the relatively-low prices are amazing (especially considering the very high standard of the cuisine and service). We’ve eaten out twice recently, one in a city restaurant and the other in a country pub. We paid much more for each course and while the food was good it was not as good as that served at the Berwyn Restaurant. This restaurant is very highly recommended but, we were lucky, book in advance to avoid disappointment!

We were on holiday in Corwen, North Wales last week with our dear friends and I had read the trip advisor reviews about The Berwyn Restaurant and so I booked us a table on the last night of our holiday. It was all I expected and more. The restaurant is small and intimate, almost like eating in your Granny’s front room! Very cosy. We were instantly made to feel welcome. The menu was perfect, not too much and not too little. When we made our selection, the food was freshly cooked to order and when it arrived, it was heavenly, so delicious!! My husband was in 7th heaven when he tasted the liver. I would highly recommend this little gem to anyone holidaying in the area. 5*+

We were staying in a holiday let in Llandrillo and visited the restaurant 3 times . We both thought this is the best food we have ever eaten in a restaurant,it is superb,the flavours are amazing.The menu is varied with good portion sizes with sides as well, plus a lovely dessert menu . It is a small,intimate,cosy place and is run by Chris who does the cooking,and Caroline who is front of house,service was excellent and they are a very friendly couple. We just wish they are where we live!

We were right to trust the excellent reviews on trip advisor. We dined at the Berwyn Restaurant last night and we were very impressed by husband and wife team Chris and Caroline in delivering both fine food and service. It’s obvious how much they care about their business. Quite a rare find in a small village setting.

A beautifully quaint restaurant, serving delicious food in a picturesque little village. The quality of the food way exceeded our expectations and the service was lovely and personal. As a couple who appreciate the quiet, it was also nice to sit in a restaurant without loud music and noisy kitchens! If you’re in the area, we highly recommend giving Caroline and Chris your custom - you won’t be disappointed!

We visited here after reading so many excellent reviews. The hosts Caroline and Chris should be so proud of their amazing restaurant! The food is outstanding, every dish is presented beautifully. They are both so welcoming and make you feel like you’re having a meal in your own front room, it’s so quaint! Can’t recommend this place enough and hopefully will return again soon ourselves.

The Berwyn is in a small, picturesque village in the Welsh countryside. The owners were very welcoming and attentive, from booking, confirmation, arrival and the meal. There were only four tables in the front room, spaced well apart. The menu had several dishes, all of which were tempting. We settled on the pan fried lamb’s liver and the pan roasted rack of lamb on a pea purée. Both were very good, but the highlight was the selection of vegetables that was presented. There were carrots, sugar snap peas, red cabbage, home-made chips and potato dauphinois. We shared a slice of Mississippi mud pie with ice cream. Everything was delicious. I wish we lived closer, so we could try some of the other offerings!

Another amazing meal at the Berwyn last night. Every time we bring visitors to the Berwyn, they are always blown away by the friendly, personal service and the wonderful food at the Berwyn.

Following Ivor and Debbie -the previous owners-was akin to following Frank Sinatra on stage.Chris and Carol have done that with genuine warmth and style and are a real asset to the village.As for the food. Well I've dined at the top table all over the world and lamentably sometimes at the bottom one but I'm here to tell you the food ranks with the very best.Perfection is a much over used word but I'll say it's as near as possible to it. I certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for great food and a warm welcome.
