The Brit Pub in Neath Port Talbot

Went to The Brit for the 1st time last night, what a fantastic night, food was amazing, entertainment ( bingo lingo) was absolutely brilliant, and a very warm welcoming from the owners, and staff , who didn't stop for one minute. Shall definitely be returning

Saturday lunch booking, absolutely stunning food! Great portion sizes, good prizes and amazing service! Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through Cwmafan or if you live by! Quirky atmosphere, great variety in menu, and AWESOME decor! Highly recommend!

My wife and I were home visiting family and were recommended a visit. We had the chateaubriand to share. I have to say,what was served up was nothing short of outstanding. At least on a par with some of the best steak I've had. So pleasing to see a successful business in cwmavon, where I grew up. The restaurant has a lovely warm and welcoming vibe, very friendly and helpful staff, but most importantly of all, is backed up with seriously good food! We will be coming back as often as we can! New ownership and staff are clearly doing an outstanding job. Well done and keep up the good work. 🙌

We have been to the Brit several times and have never been disappointed. In the last year it has been taken over by new owners who have taken a good pub and made it so much better. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. The different menus have something for everyone and the food is incredible! The last time we went we tried a steak sandwich from the new bar menu and it was delicious. They also have the best vegetarian and vegan options I’ve ever seen in a pub. The new owners are incredible and treat you like family on every visit. This is a must visit pub!!! You won’t be disappointed.

A fantastic warm and friendly welcome for Sunday lunch. They catered brilliantly for dairy allergy (we let them know at the time of booking). Can not praise them enough. A lovely team. Thank you. Diolch.

Highly recommend a visit to The Brit. The food is amazing - with great menu options. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. I have been there when there is entertainment and have not been disappointed. Basically… don’t give this place a miss 🙌

We called for supper on a Saturday evening after walking part of the Welsh coastal path. The bar was lively, busy with a great atmosphere. The bar is dog friendly. We had a table in the restaurant where it was quieter and pleasant. I had the Tuscan salad which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by a small portion of spring vegetables, carrot, green beans, broccoli and asparagus which were perfectly cooked 'al dente'. The herby crushed potato was also very good. My husband had the sirloin steak which he told me was also excellent. It wasn't a cheap pub meal but the quality made it good value for money

Food band both my friemd and I were disappointed....Chips were soggy jacket potato kind and my friend said the belly pork was bland and poor.

Fabulous food, went on a Friday when there was a singer. Fantastic atmosphere. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. A lovely small friendly pub with quality food. Interior was homely.

Massively over priced £6 for roulade came out chocolate swiss roll no cream or ice cream options falsely advertising then order Belly pork came out rolled pork half of carrot 1 asparagus 1 scoop of mashed potato £18.00. falsely advertising there food big prices for baby portions save your money go elsewhere massively disappointed 😔

Fantastic food, lovely welcoming staff and great atmosphere. Situated right next to the river Afan too so can combine a country walk with some great food.

It was an extremely long wait for food. We were approached 45 minutes after ordering to tell us they were out of stock on all of the starters we had chosen (what were they doing for the 45 minutes before telling us?), so we asked to skip starter and proceed straight to the main meal, however we then had to wait another 60 minutes. When the food came, it was nice. However the length of time it took for the food to come ruined it for us.

We visited the Brit pub 29th dec. booked a table for seven. The food was delicious well presented and reasonably priced. Staff were all lovely very helpful. We will definitely be returning.

Food was amazing being a Vegan and plenty of choice to. Definitely recommend them.

Sent food back as they misplaced our order, firstly gave us some other tables starters. When our main meal arrived warm food on cold plates Sent our meals back ownly to be given warm food again served on cold plates. When paying asked if all was OK with our meal replied not really and was told only one chef in kitchen today 🤔 not really our problem. Shame as we were recommended the brit pub but will not returning.

Fabulous meal. Very tasty. Out with a large group of work colleague's and all the plates were returned empty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the vegan shepherds pie it was lovely. Looking forward to returning.

Called in for drinks with friends. Very nice garden and lovely to sit outside when weather good! Update 14/12/23 afternoon Had the festive menu today £30 and wasn't 😍 The parsnip soup, was nice it was super hot but could have done with more seasoning. The turkey dinner was just bland, tho did have plenty of meat, the gravy was like water, only had 2 roast potatoes, (no boiled) which is fine had it not been for just 2 roasts. It wasnt bad enough to send back but it was just bland. Ive honestly had better at Toby. Now the cheesecake was amazing, and well worth having😍 Also the normal menu could do with some lunch time snack items like a panini or a wrap something for a light bite.

Beautiful Christmas dinner and no complaints from any of my group. Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming and we all had a lovely afternoon on Saturday 9th December. Will definitely go back as everything was lovely. Thank you

We visited this pub on the back of the reviews on here and we weren’t disappointed. It was packed with a great atmosphere and lovely food. We liked it so much we returned the following day for their mulled wine and little market. Again, it was packed. Cwmavon is lucky to have such a pub.

Just came with a large group. Food was served on time and was gorgeous! Atmosphere was amazing lush owners and staff simply perfect can’t recommend enough!!!

Visited this place for sunday after alot of recommendations the food arrived promptly and was freshly cooked and a good selection of meats will definitely be visiting again

Very disappointing Sunday Lunch. Was Luke warm to cold and just 1 small dish of (uncooked) vegetables between 4 adults and 1 gravy boat. Staff not interested if we were satisfied with the meal, didn't have the courtesy of asking if all was ok. Won't be revisiting.

Rubbish..cold and not enough..£100 for 4 adults and one child (who left it all)..Sunday dinner..I've had better tesco ready meals..to top it all..dog's..smelly dog's..won't see us again..!!

Went there last week, had a table booked for 7.00, we were presented with our meal at 9.15. Food is mediocre and massively overpriced. Not a bad singer in there mind.

Visited twice in the last few weeks and had a cracking Sunday lunch on both occasions. Excellent food and service. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable What more do you want? Highly recommended!!

Went out for a couple of drinks on a Friday night, not realising it was music night. Was great until the music started, but then couldn't hear ourselves think due to the over- amplified sound in a very confined area. Would prefer if a Friday evening was just left as plain and simple "pub time", perhaps shift the music slots to a midweek night, or else have a quiet word with artists to provide a more "unplugged" experience in such an intimate space.

Own came and rescued us when we broke down on the way to our reservation! After that we had fabulous food in an amazing environment!

With new owners we had great expectations. Really disappointing. Nowhere to sit while we waited for the tables. Staff were pleasant and service was quite quick. Food was below par. Basic canteen catering items on Sunday lunch and absolute no no, the food was lukewarm. Would take a lot to persuade me to return.

I've not been here for a few years, but popped in for Sunday lunch last week. It was devine! The smell of home cooking drifted to the door to greet you and got my mouth watering straight away! The soup was delicious, the lamb dinner with a side of cauliflower cheese sublime, and the apple crumble mouthwatering! The atmosphere was so welcoming and genuine. A true delight to visit!xx

First time visiting since the new owners. What a friendly warm welcome we received from all the staff. We will definitely be taking our dog here for a visit soon. The Sunday lunch was gorgeous, everything was cooked to perfection (we are incredibly fussy when it comes to Sunday lunch) The service and the food was spot on. We will be back very soon.

First time I’ve been here and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was friendly and homely, the staff were happy and welcoming and the food was just amazing. We were leaving just as live music was about to start ( I had work so couldn’t stay, as much as I wanted too) the place was full to the rafters both inside and out (beautiful beer garden) with happy friendly people. Look forward to many more visits to try the rest of the menus( including the veggie/vegan as that looks amazing) well done The Brit

Went to the Brit for some nibbles and a few drinks to watch a band, and was not disappointed! The staff were so friendly on arrival, even though it was really busy they found us a spot to sit next to a vert charming fireplace. We had a bottle of wine and ended up with more than just nibbles as there was so many things we wanted to try on the menu! Everything was cooked timley to perfection and presented beautifully! The band started and the atmosphere was amazing. The outside area was also gorgeous! Would 100% recommend a trip to this hidden gem. Thank you all for a wonderful night

Popped in for food a few days ago after hearing The Brit had new owners and absolutely loved it. Had a lovely welcome at the door from their staff - very helpful and friendly. I had the pie with mash and gravy and can honestly say it was one of the best I've ever had. Literally that gravy was to die for. My friend had the vegan wellington and again was really pleased - really tasty (and as a side note had a great vegan menu in general). They had a lovely selection of gins and loved sitting out by the river in their beer garden after dinner. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

Lovely warm welcome as we walked in, great atmosphere, service was great and the staff couldn't do enough. The food was amazing and even had a dessert which I usually skip, glad I didn't skip it today as I have not stopped talking about it since. Beautiful pub, great friendly staff and tasty food will definitely be making this my new local. Bonus, it's located right on a popular cycle path, so a great place to stop off for a quick bite or a drink on your ride

New owners&a gorgeous experience! My 2nd Sunday lunch in a week. Lamb was melt in the mouth,my friend&I were practically arguing over the cauliflower cheese&swede! I don't normally like Yorkshire pudding, but these are superb! Crumble&custard& trifle for dessert. Very reasonably priced,excellent food. Lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go back&see what these two achieve with the place. Congratulations both,loved it!

Booked Sunday lunch as been there many times before and enjoyed lunch. Today when a differents I ordered the roast lamb and paid extra £2 for it only to be served 2 thin slices and had to wait for the vegetables to come that ended in the meal being cold. Very disappointing 😢😢

Owain and Joe have just started their journey and lifelong dream of owning a pub and this is their choice of location. What a fabulous choice. Amazing food and fantastic hospitality with reasonable prices. Happy to say I will be back ….. a lot!

Best pub food in Port Talbot, staff are always friendly and helpful and the place has very interesting decorations. Also sells great beer and cider and is also dog friendly (if there is room).

Terrible place hiring people for a job doing more than 12 hours work leading them on believing to have further employment, too then sack them unfairly & paying well under National minimum wage to adult staff! Trying to get away with paying cash in hand would mean tax evasion! No health & safely measures for employees and I'd recommend environment food safety checks to be made. Shocking place never go there! 👎

Great quality food and service and nice that our staffy puppy could be with us.

Awesome place! They brought the food out quite quickly and was delicious!! Pints are decently priced and asked if wanted to try the ale before I bought it! Better than spoons! Took our plate out promptly after finishing the food, whereas spoons kept us waiting, really good place if you want a good meal or pint
