The Coffee Shed in Scarborough

We were staying in Filey and searched for cafés that our dog could join us. And found The Coffee Shed. It was lovely. Very friendly Team, great breakfast & coffee. We are returning to Filey in September and will definitely be visiting again.

This is a popular place, very busy when we went. Tables cleared quickly and kept clean. You order at the counter. I had a coffee and very nice bacon sandwich, drinks came quickly, food took a bit longer, but understandable as it was so busy. It seemed that a lot of customers were locals, always a good sign.

This Coffeeshed is to us fantastic, we live in Filey and it has enabled us to meet people we probably would have never met We go in for coffee or tea virtually every morning and we are greeted by some lovely ladies and sometimes a very pleasant young man, we have had food there and we found it delicious, we do not have one complaint, moan, grouse if we did we wouldn't go in virtually every day. The food is absolutely amazing the staff are too what a lovely little cafe beats them all in the surrounding area will only use this spot now it has become my daily spot for food and drink

Waited for breakfast for over 40 minutes, when it was served there was no cutlery, missing items on breakfast, no napkins, no butter for toast which was burnt. It was cold and either overcooked or undercooked this was recommended to us by a shop owner in Filey, tea and coffee was lovely. If you are visiting Filey please don't go on recommendations via people who live or work here as we've done this and it's not been great.

Very friendly atmosphere. Service was quick Food is freshly made using locally sourced ingredients which was delicious. I love their coffee and there is a variety of baked cakes which are delicious. Dog and child friendly. 5 stars.

Excellent dog friendly cafe in quaint Filey. The food is fresh and the staff are very helpful. Be aware though this is a local hub of activity (which adds to the great atmosphere). Dogs are welcome inside and out. We visited here for lunch and breakfast and numerous occasions during our week long holiday. Highly recommend the poached eggs on toast, they are done to perfection.

Lovely coffee shop, only had drinks but they were very good. The food and cakes looked delicious. Staff were very friendly!

Superb breakfast. High quality produce...proper bacon and sausages - nothing worse than cheap sausages! Served with either white or brown toast or bread. Real bread, not 'Duck Bread' :) I don't eat fried/poached or scrambled eggs, so had hash browns instead as a straight swap. My friend had scrambled eggs on toast, which was also enjoyed very much. I think the only thing wasted was the foil wrapping from my butter. Thank you to the staff and well done x x

5star Excellent service and big thumbs up for being dog friendly service. My pup pup was allowed to have his dog sausage and water inside with us so didn't have to sit in the cold rain to have a coffee.

Visited on a cold Bank Holiday in January. Although incredibly busy the staff were lovely, warm, welcoming and friendly. The coffee was excellent and although simple the food was delicious and brilliant value. We will definitely be visiting again when next in the area.

Coffee is amazing here, made to perfection 👌🏼 white chocolate and raspberry cake was amazing, wife had a scone (looked lovey too), and my daughter had beans, bacon and sausage, which was superb too. Staff are very friendly and welcoming

Visited here on the last day of our holiday and really wish we discovered it sooner as we would be back every day. Friendly staff and amazing food and coffee. One of the best bacon sandwiches we've ever had. Definitely recommend this place.

Only a small outside area, but just lovely for a sun trap in the afternoon. Dog friendly. Staff were lovely and helpful and really friendly. We only had drinks, but was lovely to sit together and watch the world go by.

The coffee was pretty poor and the staff spent an awful lot of time chatting behind the counter and ignoring customers. Only good point for us was that we could take our dog in.

Stopped by for coffee yesterday ... really good value, disability friendly - huge toilet which is fully wheelchair/scooter accessible.

We found The Coffee Shed purely by accident on a trip to Filey, on a beautiful day in September. How lucky were we ? The lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming, the food and drinks were excellent, and the prices were amazing. We just couldn't fault it. Thankyou so much for making our day even better than it had been so far.We will return on our next visit to Filey.

Had two absolutely delicious sausage and egg breakfast rolls and lattes yesterday. Such friendly helpful staff. Felt very safe and happy with the covid distancing

Good quality food and coffee, quick and friendly service and very reasonably priced. This was the cheapest lunch we had all week for 4 of us (just less than £20 - that includes cheaper than eat out to help out lunches a we have had) and it was one of the best! We ordered a bacon roll, a sausage, bacon, egg and mushroom on white bread (you have the choice of white or brown, sliced bread or roll) and 2 toasties (tuna cheese and ham cheese). The lattes were lovely nicer than Starbucks and the kids milkshakes were good too. All in all a really good find to sit in, in a nice clean, little environment or take away if you prefer.

Been a couple of times recently. First time was great - guy who served us was very polite and took our contact details for track and trace.The coffee is fantastic and really good quality and the cake was lovely. Cleaning tables regularly and generally very nice.Second time less great - no contact details being taken, rude lady serving at the front who was completely unwelcoming and unable to find a smile! “Banter” between staff was in fact just rudeness and attitude - face pulling behind the managers back, “I’ll do what I want when I want!”.A shame really because the coffee and food here is really good and excellent value for money!

We "lunched" at the Coffee Shed and enjoyed both the snacks and the coffees. The only downside is that the seating is rather basic and uncomfortable

Great place to stop for brunch on a rainy october morning. Lovely cafe with toys for the little ones and dog friendly too. Delicious fresh food and fresh ground coffee. I can recommend the scrambled egg with avocado and bacon! Sausage and bacon were very tasty and of high, farm shop style quality. Homemade cakes too!

Called in for a coffee and was amazed at the friendlyness of the staff.And when our coffee came it was great. Lots to choose from for food hot and cold. The decoration is different looks just like the name a shed. And the locals that were in there were a friendly lot and gave us lots of information on where to go. And a big tick for it aswell dogs are welcome to.

What.a delightful find. Sat outside but inside was lovely. Staff very helpful and friendly. A very welcoming feel. The sandwiches were lovely and very fresh. A varied menu of light bites, sandwiches etc and cakes a plenty. Tea and coffee were good and in good sized cups/mugs. Not much space outside but nice to sit and watch the world go by.

We went here after hunting for a dog friendly (and fussy eater friendly) cafe to finish our Cleveland Way walk. The in laws don't always like 'new places'.We arrived first with our pup and ordered 2 regular coffees while waiting on the parents. Regular was big!! Decent coffee.Lunch was ordered soon, 3 chicken and avo wraps and a quiche. It's nice the sandwiches came with the option of adding salad and crisps rather than lots of folk leaving it. We had 2 with and 1 without.The 2 wraps with salad arrived first and the quiche was mentioned but nothing of the third.One of the staff the came to apologise as the quiche comes straight from the butcher to order but they had sold out (disappointing but I like that it is a good fresh quiche and they didnt try to fob us off with a random shop bought one).All very quickly sorted and changed to a toastie.All meals were generous, salad and crisp additions were fresh and plentiful. Staff were lovely and everything was great value.

8.30 on the dot it was open so we came in with two hungry kids.Breakfast ranges from bacon roll, egg bap or crumpets etc from around £1.50 to more substantial meals.Coffee was ok.Decor was modern and pleasant and they have a box of toys and kids books which kept our two happy.

What a little gem, called in for a coffee and tea, had a yoghurt crunch tray bake. Coffee was perfect and I know my coffee. Tray bake fresh and delicious. The tea was good quality. Table service was great. Value for money exceptional. Will def call again. Thank you

If you’re in Filey and want a dog friendly coffee house with excellent coffee, pleasant surroundings, friendly efficient staff and value for money then definitely give place your custom. People often say that young people serving in cafe and restaurants don’t always give good service but that cannot be said of this cafe. The young people here were friendly, efficient and with a great work ethic. It was a pleasure to give a tip on this occasion. I will be back.

We visited here just for a cup of coffee each whilst we read our newspaper and it was perfect for this as the coffee was lovely and the atmosphere was to match so we felt comfortable and chilled out. Will visit again when we are back in Filey

Visited as read good write up. The size of the portions were small and over priced. Good aspects were they let in dogs had soya milk and gluten free.

I have been buying take out coffee from this business since it started in a small way from a mobile van outside Tesco. I always bought a coffee before taking the train to Beverley to visit Ancient Parent.

The coffee was very good. I drink decaf and that can be rather hit and miss, however here it was very good indeed. The cafe was very busy. They welcome dogs and there is also outdoor seating. We didn't eat, but the cakes and scones looked good. The cost was outstanding (£5.00 for two coffees).

Having walked around Filey on a blustery February day my wife and I fancied grabbing a coffee to warm up with. We noticed this little coffee shop and thought we'd give it a try. All the staff were very polite and helpful, the coffee and the walnut cake were amazing. Nice relaxed atmosphere and dogs are allowed in too. Give it a try.

I had some spare time between appointments so went in for a coffee and a sandwich. The greeting was warm and friendly and the staff were very attentive. The service was quick, efficient and done with a smile. I chose a Latte and a Chicken Mayo sandwich the total being a highly reasonable £4.75. My first visit there but won't be my last.

Walked in with the kids for coffee and cake. Ended up with coffee, hot chocolate and hot chocolate drip cake! Was a very family-friendly sort of place... friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Filey.

Visited on Saturday,liked the theme of the cafe although you could clearly tell that the maintenance and safety of the shop is not much of a priority as there was a nail sticking up from one of the tables and also one sticking out where the childrens toys were kept.

This cafe is great. Had the best flat white coffee I’ve had for ages. Sandwiches were fantastic too. Everything about this cafe is lovely; staff, decor and best of all the prices! I couldn’t get over what great value it was. Well done Coffee Shed!

We popped in here for a mid morning coffee while in the area. Last time we visited the town, it hadn't opened, so we took this opportunity to try it. After a bit of wait (very busy, which is a good sign), we received our order. Mocha for me and Yorkshire Tea for my husband. Lovely coffee and tea, nicely presented and by friendly staff. Reasonably priced too, so will be back when visiting again.

I visit Filey once a week to bring don for a appointment here and I always have an hour to grab a coffee. Not tried here before and glad I did. Great coffee ( u know I only like the best!) and lovely relaxing surroundings. Sat myself on a comfy sofa and “chilled” for 40 mins. WiFi didn’t connect for some reason but hey I’m not a teenager I can live without it! Def call in again. Friendly staff too.

Just called for a drink whilst on a short visit to Filey. I had a Cappuchino and my wife had a Latte. Very good and at reasonable prices.

We came here this morning as the bistro we normally go to was closed. We had a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich, tea and reg cappuccino all for £7.30. We thoroughly enjoyed the sandwiches, the bread was lovely and fresh and fillings were good quality. The drinks were good too.

Make sure you get here before 11.30 and have the full English Breakfast. Sausages from the butchers across the road, all freshly cooked, toast and coffee included. Very good value. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and with locals in for a cuppa there is a buzz about the place.

Called in for a coffee whilst on holiday in filey. The coffee was superb, I had a regular Americano which was served in a mug the size of a soup bowl. Also sampled a couple of traybakes which were delicious! The menu for savoury food had plenty of choice and we will be back for lunch next time we are in filey.

As the title says, coffee is good and reasonably priced, food and service also excellent. Plus you can take your dog! Worth a visit.

We were recommended The Coffee Shed by a passer by that saw us being turned away from another tea room around the corner. It is light and airy; very dog friendly with cheerful helpful staff. We visited twice during our stay, even stopping for lunch. Excellent coffee shop.

We had an excellent lunch last week on our visit to Filey. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was very good. We thought that the food was really good value and the toasties delicious! Would highly recommend a visit and can’t wait to return!

This is a very popular coffee shop, both with visitors and locals. Always a cheery welcome and a wave goodbye. Excellent barista coffee being served, and if you're not sure which one you want, just ask, and they will explain them all. Seating inside and out, and doggie friendly. Snacks and light bites, oh, and a decent breakfast. A big plus for this place is that they are very community minded, which goes down very well with local voluntary groups.

Excellent service and food. Special mention goes out to Amy broadhead who in my opinion (which let's face it, is the only one that matters) deserves a raise and a holiday.

My first visit to Filey. And, like it’s much bigger neighbours, the town looks a little tired (though the beach is a beautiful stretch of sand).

We came across The Coffee Shed when wandering around Filey as strangers to the area.

Really liked the wonderful decor, very friendly staff, good choice of drinks and food at very cheap prices. Great to go to a town and not to be ripped of by a major chain coffee shop at inflated prices.

We stumbled upon The Coffee Shed while away! We LOVE it. Great service, wonderful atmosphere, beautiful decor, the owner was the most friendly and attentive to all customers! Couldn’t recommend more highly.

We like Filey, the sea front and country park areas are great for walking and the beach is one of the best with the walk along the Brigg when the tide is out, perfect for crab finding but finding a good coffee shop isn't so easy. Filey town centre looks like it is very much in decline and the absence of a Costa is a good sign that things are not good. So thank goodness for The Coffee Shed, nice coffee (which can be drunk without having to add sugar) and lovely cakes. The owners are young, enthusiastic and friendly. The decor is modern and inviting and is a bright light in a what is becoming a bit of a drab area. Recommended.

Popped in for a rest. Weather hot. Very busy today. Staff helpful and busy. Dogs are welcome. Got hot drinks and stayed hot. Try the food next time when we have more time.

Had a coffee (Americano) here this morning. It was okay, but nothing special, so they need to either get a better bean or improve barista training. To be fair to the place the staff were very friendly and efficient so full marks for that. However I think it's missing out on loads of potential. The furniture is characterful (mainly reclaimed timber) but the layout is a bit unimaginative with it being laid out rather formally down both sides of the room rather than mixed about a bit. On the plus side this does mean that most of the venue is wheelchair and pram accessible. The colour scheme on the walls is a bit bland and the lighting is too bright. On the whole it feels more like a 'caff' than a coffee shop, which is a shame because with a bit more thought on layout, lighting and decor it could have some real ambience and could be quite a cool place to go.

5 cold people & a dog dropped in for hot drinks. The dog was allowed in, there is plenty of space, the drinks were all hot! And the staff were very Efficiant & friendly. Ellie done !

Lovely lunch on Easter Sunday, dogs welcome which made all the difference on this cool, breezy day. Staff were great and food/coffee excellent.

We had quite a few day's when the Weather was'nt good!But we still had to visit 'The Coffee Shed'! All of us had a lovely Cuppa & OF COURSE .....CAKE!! We had the Salted Caramel Cake, DROOLING just thinking about it!! was VERY,VERY GOOD!! The Staff are really lovely & u can take DOG's in,which is Excellent!!

Fantastic atmosphere and welcome to all locals and visitors of Filey. Great staff and very good customer service. Excellent quality of food and not much waiting time. Highly recommended for everyone to go in and relax whilst having a drink or a bite to eat.

We visited The Coffee Shed when it was in the alleyway at the side of the fruit shop; how I remember it then was quirky, excellent coffee and great snacks/cakes. We haven’t been to the new premises until now and although the coffee was okay, it felt more main stream coffee shop and it had lost that special feel. It is popular and always busy but I wouldn’t rush back, it had lost that uniqueness what made it great before.
