Everything about the Cotswold Barn is exemplary and faultless. The food, the staff and the ambience are all first class. Bernard and Jo, the owners, are very passionate about their cafe and rightly so. We have lived in this area for 6 years and are frequent visitors to the Barn and that will never change. If you haven't visited the Cotswold Barn, we recommend that you do so. You will not be disappointed. Chris and Paula

We’ve visited The Cotswold Born and Cafe many times over the years and it’s always offered a warm and friendly welcome by both the proprietors, Bernard and Jo, and all the staff. The menu is varied, appetising and delicious. It’s setting is spectacular. Plenty of car parking. No wonder it’s recently been voted the best cafe in the Cotswolds. Absolutely well deserved. A must cafe to visit for anyone visiting the area.

This is a lovely location and very handy for visiting Stow or walking in the area. However, for us it was unacceptably expensive with a £13 full-English consisting of 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 hash brown, 1 mushroom, a small tub of beans, 2 rashers of bacon and a slice of toast. Not sure how they justify that? If we visit again it will just be for a coffee!!

Friendly staff, Beautiful setting and shop, but the cafe left everything to be desired. We were very disappointed given the rave reviews online. Sandwich came with stale shop-sliced bread without grains (the menu said granary) and no cheese (just lots of mayo, apple &celery). Free range eggs nice, but the farmhouse sausages were the strangest ever. Bright orange in colour, we thought they might be spicy, but no. Bland & low meat content, they tasted like vegetarian sausages and not good ones either. Also quite stuffy with closed windows despite signs everywhere about the importance of ventilation during a pandemic. We won’t be returning. Recommend Martha’s Cafe in nearby Morton in Marsh instead.

We found this wonderful place as we went on holiday, then made a point of finding it on the way back! We had the best quiche we had ever tasted - red onion and Stilton - I just wish we lived nearby so we could go back for more! We each had a sandwich priced at £7.50. We were presented with a slimey liquid mayonnaise with a few chopped bits of celery and apple. Cheese sandwich? We couldn't find ANY cheese in that goo. Disappointing is not the word. Disgraceful !! I also had a truly unwelcoming solo visit a week ago, and chose to leave after waiting 30 minutes to be even noticed. I am a local, not a visitor. On our first day out for 15 months, we came across the Food Store and Café - we had an excellent Full English breakfast. The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent and the staff were all extremely friendly, especially Jack. The whole place was very well organised because of Covid restrictions, with a one-way system in operation and everything was very clean, especially the toilets! Outside the deli was an array of plants at very reasonable prices and the actual shop had many gift items and cards that were of very good quality, including leather bags, purses and belts. Speaking to Bernard and Jo, the owners, as we were leaving, we said we would definitely be back. We also bought some goodies for our evening meal and can't wait to try the Steak, Guinness and Stilton pie, which was highly recommended by Bernard and Jo's daughter.

Friendly, bright and airy farmshop type restaurant. As the name implies, we expected lots of local provenance on the menu, but hard to find. We had ham, egg and chips and sausage, egg and chips. Wouldn't you expect a note to say who produced the ham, or the name of the free-range chicken farm? Nothing. The sausages were labelled as 'Lashford' - which turned out to be a producer near Birmingham! And they were run-of-the-mill. Surely there's a local sausage maker to support? Considering the prices - which are very 'Cotswolds', we were underwhelmed. Good service.

We read a great review of this Cafe and whilst we were staying in the Cotswolds, on one of our many visits, we decided to call in last Thursday 10th June morning for coffee. We happened to be in our Lamborghini (so low key !) and as we were walking towards the lovely cafe building in it's fab location we met with the Owner Bernard and his wife. Also their son, Jack was there, a great guy. We all got chatting and found them all so easy going and very good hosts.I went into the Food Store/Cafe to order our coffees passing lots of yummy and inviting foods to purchase and take home. When I got to the place to order it was Lucy, Bernard's daughter who took my order. She too was a delight to chat to.Our coffees were brought out to us. They looked lovely and tasted equally as good. Having had an Italian mother we are all very passionate and fussy about our coffee. This cafe has it spot on . We're local to here and pop in from time to time. Came in today for 2 coffees with 1 scone jam and cream and a cheese scone with butter and chutney. Charged over £12 for scones that had been put in the microwave and came out rubbery and tasteless. Jam for the scone was a tiny plastic pot which hardly amounted to a scraping. No butter with the cheese scone and despite an abundance of staff no-one came to check if everything was OK. We didn't finish the scones.....Some covid measures in place - track and trace and staff wearing facemasks but tables still very close with people walking by and also very close back to back. Tables had sachets of sugar, salt and ketchup on them - they can't possibly be sanisized and should not be left on the table. We didn't feel at all safe and they are obviously trying to pack in as many tables as possible, where some tables should really be removed.Staff at till didn't even ask if everything was OK and to be honest, we were too disappointed in the experience to say anything. Staff need to be trained in customer care and not all hide round the back. Really disappointed and unlikely to return or to recommend people to visit.

The ambiance is very good, it us very clean and airy and the food is very good but not excellent. For a small cafe the prices are quite high. There is a good choice of cakes but they all come at a price: £3.25 for an Eccles Cake, £3.25 for a slice of Battenburg; £4 for a slice of Victoria Sponge and £3+ for a little Brownie/Flapjack, that’s double what Costa and Starbucks charge. Go for the hot desert of the day (Bread & Butter pudding) and there’s no change from £6!! All I can think is they are looking to pay for their very nice cafe extension in 12 months. Don’t get me wrong it’s definitely worth a visit but take your credit card.

No te sentiste bajo ninguna presión.

Simplemente no puedo". No hay oferta para reemplazarla por otra.Además de esto, los hongos llegaron nadando en grasa. Horrible.El té estaba tibio y la tostada era una rebanada de supermercado.Considerándolo todo, le recomendamos que evite este lugar.

We broke down on or journey and ended up in the car park here by pure chance. What a great place to break down or visit what ever the reason. The staff and owners were lovely and really helpful.

Muchas gracias. Tony y Linda

Stopped for lunch mid-way through a bike ride in the area. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lunch was great - we ordered a sandwich (which was huge!) and a delicious bruschetta, followed by a few homemade cakes. Highly recommend!

We phoned ahead to book a table inside as it was raining, the phone was answered immediately. There was ample parking and a clear one way system. We ordered a quiche and a vegetarian samosa with salad and perfectly cooked new potatoes which we shared and both were delicious. We could see the staff thoroughly sanitising tables as people left. First experience of eating out since lock down and very impressed and we felt vey safe.

My partner and i are staying in Cheltenham for the weekend and had headed to Bourton on the water intending to grab some lunch there. Sadly it would appear everyone in the whole of the Cotswolds also had this idea and we didn't feel comfortable staying as was so busy and over crowded(not what we need in current times)....what a shame! And now I'm a tad hangrey!! Maybe even more than a tad.My partner remembered on the drive in seeing this cafe that had tables outside so we decided to drive back and hope for the best!My hunger and stress was solved the second we stepped out the car in the carpark. Fresh air, gorgeous scenery, spaced out seating in the sunshine! What more could we want. The one way system works really well! We ordered and paid before going out back to sit. The cakes cleverly placed insight for us to see :-)We only had sarnies and chips but they were both so tasty and fresh. Decent portions. And of course we had some cake. Lemon cheesecake to be exact and this was also delicious!Shame we don't have another afternoon to go back as we would be there in a skip and a jump! Definitely reccomend this place, don't keep going to Bourton! STOP HERE!

Due to a road closed we stumbled upon this cafe and decided to stop for lunch. Not only is it nice to see all these places open again but what a pleasant surprise this place is. The food was excellent and the staff so efficient and polite. One for our list as we will certainly be back.

Firstly, very pleased to see the cafe properly open again after lockdown (we have called in previously in the last few weeks for takeaway food from a limited menu) However our experience this visit wasn't as positive as on previous visits, of which there have been many!. I found the lady behind the till to be quite unwelcoming, which hasn't ever been the case previously - perhaps she was having a bad day. (The young man actually serving our meal was pleasant as usual)Food ordered, we sat down outside in the sun to await our meal. Plenty of benches free outside and the one way system felt quite safe. Soup was cauliflower cheese, well presented and with two pieces of bread reasonable value at £5.95. Quite disappointed with the other order, which was tomato bruschetta and salad. This was a single small piece of bread with tomato topping, with a small salad. Whilst this was quite nice, the price of just under £10 could surely have warranted a second piece of bruschetta on the plate. Perhaps I just made the wrong choice on this occasion.

Decent shop with some nice gifts and some healthy farm food options . We had a flat white which had absolutely no resemblance to a flat white ! It was 99% hot milk in a big cup . Mine was spilt in the saucer which i wouldn’t have minded if there had been an apology . Maybe we were just unlucky .

We stopped here earlier today on the way home from a funeral near by. The deli counter was lovely and unable to resist a few purchases. We also bought a take away coffee and shared a gorgeous sausage roll. Very friendly environment will definitely be returning soon.

My family and I enjoyed our first breakfast here. We have been many many times for lunch but thought we should give the breakfast a go and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent (especially the sausages), it arrived quickly and with very friendly service and the prices are reasonable too. Four very satisfied customers - thank you.

Revisited today for a coffee - a warm welcome in this lovely cafe in a great location. Bought goodies from the farm shop which is well-stocked with delicious fresh home made foods and local produce. Returned later for a light lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed; friendly efficient service. Attractive gift shop and easy parking. Jo, Bernard and the team should be very proud of the business.

We had noticed on some recent lunchtime visits that the breakfast menu had you can customise your own breakfast. Starting frobeen revised. We finally had an opportunity to try it....For those with a hearty appetite, the full English now comprises 2 rashers of bacon, a fried egg, a large Lashford pork sausage, tomato, mushroom, baked beans, black pudding, hash brown and toast (hopefully have remembered it all!)...all for what I consider a very reasonable £10-50. The hosts (Bernard and Joanne who are as lovely as ever!) have also cleverly identified that not everyone wants all of that, so now there is the Flexibrek which comprises 2 rashers of bacon, a fried egg, a large Lashford pork sausage and toast for £6-50, then any of the other items can be added for £1 each so you really can have exactly what you want...!While you're there, it's well worth a look around the recently revamped deli. You can purchase (amongst other things) items from the breakfast & lunch menus (like the aforementioned Lashford sausages plus pies & quiches) and a wide selection of local cheeses, so your visit to the Cotswold Food Store & Cafe can continue after you've left...!!

We called for lunch yesterday, it was very busy and we had to wait for a table, which wasn’t a problem. The food was excellent, I had cauliflower cheese which was delicious. My husband had the ham, egg &.chips, and our daughter a bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich with chips, both of which were excellent. The food and service was exceptional, and no different as Bernard and Joanne were away. Congrats to all concerned

We absolutely love going here for lunch. The food is just so tasty no matter what you have. We have built up such a lovely relationship with the staff and are always being entertained by them. We have been here also when the owners are away and the standard of both food and service never falls short of excellent. The homemade cakes are delicious and such a clean beautiful place. If you pass there early you must also pop in and have one of their breakfasts. This is definitely the best place around here locally to eat. We love you all

Staff were friendly and helpful and the owner was very knowledgeable about the fabulous array of food in the shop’s deli counter. Would definitely recommend for a visit. Good food at reasonable price in the cafe and a wonderful selection of made in house and local pies, etc in the shop.
