We had a very pleasant light lunch on a quiet wet Tuesday so probably not the best time for atmosphere but a good experience.

lovely place to have a pint after a hard days work and the roast dinners are amazing and generous my children when eaten there have always gone home full and happy very nice management always up for a chat expecially mike he will chat your ear off well done to the staff and management of this pub lovely place...

Went on the monthly fish Friday, the chef is a genius 👌. The Tuna Carpaccio was amazing. We shared a fish platter which was immense, fantastic value and tasted fantastic. It was a Triumph of the freshest shellfish and the tastiest fish dishes. The atmosphere was wonderful and service was the friendliest I have ever experienced. Definitely recommended and we will be going back.

We have just had a lovely lunch at this pub. They accomadated 8 of us and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and hot and despite varied choices, they all came out beautifully presented. The lady that took my booking and dealt with us today was exceptional and a credit to your pub x

Went for lunch there yesterday 7/11 Three out of the 4 had the seafood Fish and squid. We we’re up all night indigestion and stomach cramps. Will be taking that place of our list.

One of the best roasts I've had. Lovely pub, very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again. My mum also loved the vegetarian option roast, said it was the nicest she has had. The only slight negative I had was the price of dessert, £8.00 is quite steep, and it was very small.

Pie and pud night on a Thursday is great. Food was delicious, service was incredible. Absolutely will visit the Green man again

The muscles are nice, the sauce was tasty and the bread was fluffy and flavourful. The honey roasted ham was so nice and sweet and paired nicely with the chips and eggs. Good portion sizes with okay pricing. Not much variety for desserts though.

Absolutely fabulous environment for food and drinks. Excellent customer service and quality food. Really impressed and will definitely be visiting again. I personally recommend the Turkey dinner. 👍

After three months it’s a joy to have the Green Man once more at the heart of Thriplow. Sadly, we’ve not yet been able to try the food but the range of real ales (Wherry, Doombar, London Pride) is keeping us happy as is the new wine list. Lots of hidden gems, French focused but broad. House wines come from the Ardeche. Who knew they even made wine there? A friendly welcome from Alex and Mike to both humans and their canine companions. Will post again when we can get to eat. Reports from others are universally good.

We had a fantastic dinner on Friday evening. The food and drink were perfect, not expensive and the pricing was just right. The staff were great too!I am so pleased to see the doors of The Green Man open again, and I will continue to support it as much as possible!

It's wonderful to have our local pub open again. We've eaten here three times in the past couple of weeks and the chefs can cook! Beautifully cooked fish (juicy sea bass and also an excellent haddock and chips) and a fantastic traditional Sunday roast were some of our dishes. The beers are well kept, the wine list is extensive and the three reds I've tried have all been excellent. Alex, Mike and Ben are lovely to talk to and seem keen to meet the needs of locals and visitors alike. They've only been open a couple of weeks and I'm sure will be trying things out and making changes and additions as they go. Please be kind and considerate when giving your judgments, especially as they were keen to get the pub open and had lots of new staff to train.

Visited The Green Man for a lovely dinner with friends, this pub is well worth a visit. It is recently under new management, the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, couldn’t get a picture of the lamb as I just wanted to eat it but would thoroughly recommend this dish, the portion sizes were great for the money, probably didn’t need all 3 courses as we were stuffed afterwards. Dogs are welcome too they even had some treats for our pooches

Visited this pub a few weeks ago with some friends for dinner, cant knock the food or the service - you HAVE to try the arancini!!! Will definitely be back for seconds.

Have been on two occasions since the pub has reopened under new management. The first occasion just for a drink and the second for food with a small group of friends. Both times the service was dreadful. Booked in advance and they had lost our booking; had to practically get up from our seats to wave down staff to order our food after being sat down 20+ mins. The starters were tasty but pathetic portions especially considering the rather hefty prices, and almost all of our mains were inedible! When staff came over to ask why we hadn't eaten them, we politely said they tasted very similar to cardboard and the manager was rude and didn't offer to cook us anything else! After that we were not asked if we wanted any further drinks or desserts and had to go to the bar to get our bill! Poor service, rude manager, and even worse food for a very expensive price! Very sad as it is our local and it used to be very good, but I know I certainly won't be going back, the Chequers it is!

Walked here in the sunshine, looking forward to a few pints and a natter. Huge disappointment to find just the one beer on, the undrinkably hoppy Simple Pleasures. Apparently they are doing a runner and shutting down this weekend, and the stalwart manageress did not know what if anything would happen next. This is another sorry tale of a once great local pub (admittedly a while ago now) gradually brought low by poor management and poor choices.

It was pretty cold and gloomy. I had expected that. But hardly any food offered. We had vegatable stew and soup. They tasted and looked exactly the same. Shepherd's pie on the menu at pounds. Cheesy chips that was about it.The toilets you had to walk through the very dark car park car to reach. It needs to be lit up as it is dangerous.I had a miserable evening.I know things are very difficult during Covid.

Great ambience being outside on the village green with pretty subtle lighting. Warm with blankets and patio heater. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Didn’t like being next to a table of 5 smokers whilst we were eating in the marquee. Other guests were more polite and went outside of the marquee to smoke. Food plentiful. Sadly won’t visit again during Covid times unless the smoking policy changes. Will certainly be back when indoors again as usually love this little pub.

Went today for late Sunday lunch with our 3 children after a trip to IWM Duxford. A great discovery. At the moment they are only doing outdoor service but they have a marquee set up with heater and blankets available. It was quiet when we got there (4pm) and the waitress talked us through ordering and paying using their website which was all easy. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Will definitely be going back. The only thing I would say is that the on the limited menu there was no main course veggie option. One of my children is vegetarian and she had to have Greek salad and chips. Would be good to have a hot vegetarian meal on the menu as well. Otherwise no complaints.

We’ve eaten at the Green Man many times in the past and wanted to support them in these tricky times so took a group of friends for lunch on Saturday. It was excellent in every way! Brilliant menu / ordering system - simple and effective. Drinks and hot, delicious, freshly cooked food delivered to a nearby “drop table” for us to collect (avoiding breaking social distancing rules). I can not fault them! All with a cheery smile. Thank goodness for the Green Man!

Excellent place, beer is mediocre but nice atmosphere. Food is great. update after covid restrictions: they have extended seating in the nearby lawns which is great. what's not so good is now you must order on app. also takes a while to get a "quick drink". But the biggest disappointment was the menu. Now that they have put it online, i could see first time that their chips are not vegetarian and fried together with meat. Previously when used to order, they told me its vegetarian! Staff is still good and the place is probably the best in the area so good option if you are not a vegetarian!

Considering the times we are in with Covid being such a player on the scene at the moment, this pub has catered very well for this by having seating outside and none inside. Admittedly this will inherently come with a downside in the winter, but one problem at a time, for the time being it suits just fine. There is a limited menu with limited drinks. If you are after trying more than one real ale then you are going to be challenged as this place is trying to get by and survive therefore it doesn't have the array you would have seen post Covid. All this being said however doesn't detract from the fact that this is a lovely pub which a proper local feel to it. The staff range from Scotland to AUS and are very engaging with no hesitation to converse. The food from the limited menu is very good and the mains are either tapas styled or you can choose from a chicken cheeseburger or fish fingers burger, each lovely in their own right.

Best pub I have visited post lock-down. A lot of though has gone in to make it work and still be safe. Delicious food and drinks, great service and atmosphere - not easy to achieve in these challenging times!

We were staying in Thriplow and ate at the Green Man on bank holiday Monday evening, the food and service was excellent so we went back when it opened again on the Thursday. Covid means that the pub has moved outside with extra tables and a great tented area to provide shelter. Hopefully they can return indoors in time for guests to enjoy the roaring fireside again later in the year.

Visited with a couple of friends for drinks and tapas at lunchtime. Great service, they even replaced a dish we didn’t like. Drinks and food aren’t cheap but worth the money. Large garden so plenty of space for social distancing! Would highly recommend.

We were staying nearby and saw this place on trip advisor. Read the reviews and so booked a table. We both had lovely starters. For the main course we chose three choices from the tapas plates and one from the main menu. Just gorgeous. Too full for a dessert. If ever we we visit the area again I’d definitely come back here to eat.

We were introduced to The Green Man by some friends and wow, we were impressed. Their tapas style menu is fabulous. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, good value - what more could anyone ask for.

1st time eating here tonight, had lovely Sunday roast veg could have cooked a bit longer but that is just or preference. Yorkshire pudding was huge full to the brim. Staff very friendly and a good atmosphere would highly recommend.

Popped in for a quick beer to check out this community run hostelry and ended up staying for lunch - the food looked too attractive to miss out on. Our absolute favourite pub in Cambridgeshire for a Sunday roast. It’s delicious!! We called ahead to book at table and arrived to find a welcome spelled out in scrabble tiles on our table :-) We had one beef and one slow cooked pork roast - the pork was to die for - melt in your mouth with extra pork crackling. The beef was a little on the well done aide for my other half but still very tasty. With the addition of crispy roasties, amazing meaty gravy, perfectly cooked veg which showed off the best of the ingredients and a massive crispy Yorkshire pudding, we were sold. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the pub was buzzing with families, couples and friends enjoying a lazy lunch. Just lovely 😊 A nice spot to have a wander round the village afterwards to walk off the excesses.

Called in on the off chance of a table for 2 following a client meeting, we were offered a table by the fire which was nice. We went for 6 small bites which were more than enough for the 2 of us, my favourite was the home made sausage rolls and samosas.

Tucked away in the serene and beautiful village of Thriplow is this hidden gem a gastro pub which is our latest foodie discovery. We visited green man for a birthday celebration lunch, right from making a booking the table via email, entering the pub, taking the orders, the service, the staff, the quality and quantity of food, ambience was the best I have experienced in a local pub. The ingredients used are locally sourced, menu changes everyday with a separate vegan menu, good vegetarian choices and a tapas menu the pub caters the need for almost everyone. They are even flexible, you can mix and match ingredients from the menu to make your own meal choice too. That was amazing. Food was exceptionally good and the hand cut chips to die for. We will definitely be back soon for more. Our new favourite pub for sure!

Haven't been for quite sometime, so thought would give it a go. Lovely rustic look inside. Loved the scrabble personalised touch on the table. Very busy lunch but staff were friendly and service was prompt. Meal was very tasty and the ice cream and sorbet mix for desert gorgeous. Used to visit here quite a lot before was community owned but think they have done a lovely job with it.
