Went on a brunch date with my friend and their smoothies and croque monsieur were incredible. My friend got the salmon and it looked so fresh and delicious, so it has to be next on my try list.

Came here for the first time only recently, even though I’m a native Bangorian. Ate at both the restaurant and the cafe and both times the food and service was superb. It was also a massive breath of fresh air that the cafe had rock music on low in the background, sick of hearing Taylor Swift in every establishment I go into 😂 Had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup and it was, hands down, the best breakfast I’ve ever had. My mum also spent the entire time eyeing all the jams, chutneys and vinegars while we ate and I’m pretty sure she’d rob the place if she thought she could get away with it 😂 Amazing experience and will definitely be back 😍

The Guillemot Café is a lovely stop for lunch. My partner and i had a mocha and flat white and the coffee was so good. The accompanying french toast and Dirty bap hit the spot and arrived soon after we ordered. The staff were so lovely and attentive. The only negative was that the restaurant was a bit cold for me and i had to sit with my coat on the whole time. Otherwise, a lovely room and a nice time had.

Service was good; we didn’t have to wait long to get a table, to get our orders taken and to get our food served. As for the food itself, their bacon was too salty for my taste, the blueberry pancake was a bit lacking in flavour, but the rest of the food was good. The food servings were generous, no complaints there.

Came here for brunch today with the wife. Had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table as it was so busy but staff were very quick at turning tables and really friendly with great service. I had the “Captain Ahab’s breakfast” (cooked breakfast) and my wife had the “eggs on fire”. Both meals were great and really tasty, however the “eggs on fire” really are on fire..they were very spicy as the name suggested!! The table we ate at was maybe a wee bit low if you are sat on the couch but it’s just a minor issue and won’t stop us from coming again! Would definitely recommend. Coffee was incredible as well!

First time in this lovely little Bistro. Food was delicious and the staff so helpful. Would definitely return. However, a little suggestion... change the tea towel that you clean the cutlery with. We had 2 sets of pancakes and 2 pots of tea and it was £27!!! Ridiculously expensive considering the pancakes were the smallest pancakes I have ever had when eating out for lunch. Not even a particularly satisfying portion, hungry again before dinner. The staff were lovely, but we spilled some milk and no one came over to offer any help or even extra napkins to help clean up. I had to go over to the counter and pick up the blue roll myself and even then still no help was offered to wipe up. Very disappointed considering we had heard good things. Won't be back

I've been several days in a row to the Guillemot. This morning I ordered a fry and I have to say that it was the best fry I have had in my life. And I've had many frys, from Broughshane to Cushendun to Ballycastle to...like, LURGAN. I've also become adept at making my own, and there is a packet of lard in my fridge waiting until the day I feel I can afford to buy more farls. Anyway, today's fry in Bangor was the greatest ever. Every single thing about it was amazing - the best ingredients cooked to perfection. Not to be missed and worth the money as it is a true EXPERIENCE. I paired this with black Americano and this was also supremely good. The state of Bangor presently is tragic. A ghost town with just a few lonely souls wandering around. Even the charity shops are shutting down. But the Guillemot is more than enough reason to pay the once glorious holiday town a visit. I will be back as often as I can afford to.

Landed on a Sunday morning at about 11:30am and found a very bust cafe which for me is always a great sign. I talked to a waitress and was told that we would have to wait until a table became available. She gave us some menus and we decided to wait outside and we were 25 minutes waiting until we got a table. This did not bother us as a group as it was clear to see the place was very busy. When we did get a table we were sat near the front window and we made our order straight away. Food arrived in good time and we were all very happy with the food. I got the Dirty Bap and it was delicious, really hit the spot with a lovely cup of tea. Staff were very friendly and checked on us as we ate. Definitely recommend, and definitely worth the wait. I really can't recommend the Guillemot enough. Called in for brunch after a decent walk along the Bangor seafront. The cafe was full but we were happy to wait and it wasn't long before we had a table in the back. The staff were excellent. Really friendly and welcoming despite being under a little pressure as the cafe was full. Food was excellent and it's very clear that there is an effort to source top quality ingredients. The sausages really stood out for me. Absolutely huge though so I'd advise going with a big appetite if youre going to attempt eating two of them.

I am writing this review with a full heart. My daughter’s wedding was brought forward because of covid 19 and then brought forward again. We planned to use a number of venues but as the crisis escalated each venue was either not appropriate for a small number or closed so we asked Rachel would she consider hosting a small reception in The Kitchen Cafe. Rachel agreed late Wednesday night within a few minutes of calling her. The wedding was 3 days later. Then the PM made the announcement on Friday night that all cafes were to close. Rachel phoned me with the news but a ‘leave it with me.’ On Saturday 21st March my beautiful daughter was married and Rachel and Ian catered for us in my home. I have to say that I am crying writing this review and I thought as mother of the bride I would have no tears left. Thank you Rachel for finding solutions to all the difficulties that catering in our home would bring. For being so calm and practical. For never asking me difficult questions or any questions at all, just taking it out of my very weary hands. You are my angel on the day my child was wed and I will never forget your kindness. To Ian, our chef, thank you for the most delicious food. I have no idea how you catered in a space you had not been to before and served us mouthwatering dishes. 3 main menu choices if you please! The plates were returned empty and like Rachel you served up the food with graciousness, ease and efficiency. My heartfelt thanks to The Guillemot. The day was a gift and you, in your kindness, gave us the intimate reception we wouldn’t change for the world.

My father chose his dish as it was offered as gluten free (he has coeliac), so he asked for gluten free bread to replace the normal bread offering. He asked it it could be toasted. None of this was a problem for the staff who were very pleasant. However, we did not expect to be charged 15p per slice and 10p for it to toasted, especially as bill was £30. Just left a sour note to charge for this.
