A first visit for my wife and I, booked online nice and easy, The food was outstanding, price was very reasonable, Glamorgan sausages were even better than the actual sausage I expected them to be( A learning for me) , the service from all the staff was exceptional and must take the opportunity to thank the full team that consisted of Alys, Italia,George,Kai,Estelle,Josh,Vicky,Bryn and Ben KP, team work makes the dream work, we will be back again shortly to indulge in more delicious food

Superb food and possibly the best roast dinner I’ve ever eaten! The sumptuous lamb melded with the apricot and ginger stuffing delivered a perfect taste match. The delicious medley of vegetables, along with the sublime leek and cauliflower cheese, just keeps on giving flavour-wise. Highly recommend this wonderful pub restaurant and already looking forward to a return trip on our next visit to the Gower.

Consistently stunning food every time we visit. Everything is full of flavour and well portioned. If you enjoy good quality food then make sure you make time to come here. My personal favourite has to be the pork but on my last visit I tried the steak which was just as amazing. Whatever you choose from the menu you will definitely enjoy it.

Lovely food, however the service was a little disappointing. Waited a long time for drinks order and one staff member was very miserable and rude.

We have been before and enjoyed the meal. This time we had the tasting menu, It was well cooked, but the finesse was a little lacking. Maybe because it was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was quiet, but it all seemed a bit rushed from one course to another. Flo, who served us was very friend polite, and nothing was to much trouble for her, she made us feel very welcome, thank you Flo.

Great little place for a relaxed night out with friends/family but perfect ambience in the restaurant for something slightly more formal. Celebrating the local produce of the sea and the field in a totally original way. Both in the restaurant and in the bar this offers something way beyond ‘pub grub’ ( but be warned - the chips are to die for . And they don’t mind doing just a couple of bowls of those to go with your pint beside the fire in the bar either 😊 !!!

Nice place for a drink and food.

The service and ambiance are consistently good. The quality of the food and the innovative menus are something that is not experienced in other pubs and the perks such as the gourmet club and steak thursdays are worthwhile gimmicks, Where else would you find pheasant on a menu for example. Cannot wait to back.

The standard was as good as ever. Service excellent, food appetising, although my Hake portion was a little small, but plenty of vegetables.

Booked a table for 2 at short notice for a Thursday night. On arrival the venue looked busy, inviting with a good atmosphere. We approached the bar for drinks and were offered a good selection of brands and staff enquired if we were members of the gourmet club (which you can join online and allows members to have some discount off their bill). We were informed that every Thursday is steak night and for a very reasonable price you can have 2 steaks with sides and wine. The service was excellent, we opted for the 2 steak deal, these were cooked to perfection and served with home cooked chips and a side of garlic bread. The wine was also excellent. This was unbelievable value for exceptional food and service and would highly recommend. We will definitely be visiting there again. The Plough and Harrow is the best pub in Swansea for food by far.

This is an excellent pub/ restaurant. Its always busy with locals , whichis always a good sign, but also people from further a field visit when they know about this freindly pub. Always amazingoffers for family and lots of eventsgoing on. Food is amazing, we had steak and it was perfect. We also went with our friends and their children and everyone loved their food. I would strongly recommend this place.

The best pub restaurant we have found in Wales since moving back ten years ago. I used to have beer and ploughman’s here in the 1970’s when farmworking as a student. The food is much better now but I can’t drink as much beer. Top class pub restaurant -highly recommended.

After hearing great things and seeing the hype on social media recently, we were expecting a nice meal. Unfortunately, we found the whole experience quite underwhelming. We visited Saturday afternoon. My stater of mussels was under seasoned and swimming in sauce. The "foccacia" we ordered wasn't foccacia at all, rather a mini bloomer with rosemary and salt. Whilst the bread was nice enough, we wanted foccacia and didn't get it. The real dissapointment came with our main course though. The beef olives were cold, tough, with a small amount of sauce and one of them had a peice of string in it! The side veg was OK, but nothing special. The potato dauphinoise were quite dry too. Everything just felt poorly reheated, if you know what I mean. The service was also pretty underwhelming. And when we complained about the meal, we were only offered £10 off. We won't be going back and won't be recommending it to anyone. Such a shame.

I’ve been to the plough many times with family. The food never disappoints and a very good value with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend the venison burger and peppercorn sauce.

Sunday lunch was excellent at the Plough and Harrow. There was a computer glitch with the orders, but staff were very attentive and apologetic. The food was delicious and the nicest glass of Sauvingnon Blanc I have tasted in ages. Will definitely make a return visit.

Lunchtime visit with elderly parents. Attentive (patient) service, excellent food (including smaller portions for parents), cosy atmosphere. Best beer battered cod and chips (& onion rings) in any pub we’ve visited in the UK. Not crazy prices. We will definitely go again.

Nice little pub with a lovely written menu. Dishes were fine but not as great as reviews had led me to believe. Food was flavourful and very well presented but missed some of the finishing touches ( e.g. bread not toasted on Welsh breakfast leaving it soggy) Service was faultless and attentive. Creme brulee was delicious, the lime parfait was probably the only thing I wouldn't order again. Soft drinks were quote expensive- bit that's not unusual in pubs these days. Lunch menu. *86th Birthday lunch, with family. The service was a bit perfunctory, but they did decorate Mums plate with Happy Birthday which was nice. It is a nice dinning room but it was cold. The plates were also cold which meant the delicious food soon got cold, what a shame because after reading all the excellent reviews we were a bit disappointed. I think we should have gone in the evening, i'm sure the whole experience would have been better. I would return, but in the evening.

Went for a friend's surprise birthday party for a Sunday roast. Starter was a great selection. The duo roast was literally amazing. The orange and chai crème brulé was epic and definitely stole the show.

Update: Went back recently, 11 months after the review below. I’d given it 5 stars and was incredibly impressed! Sadly 11 months later that wasn’t the case. We had starters, mine was a chorizo scotch egg, which was massively under seasoned. It had no flavour at all, just texture. The saddest part was the chicken roast. All the seasoning seemed to have gone into the chicken in the form of way too much salt. I ate as much as i could but left needing pints of water. It was sad and very underwhelming. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I also don’t like seeing somewhere that has been great, slip into the world of mediocre. It could have been a bad day, it was an unseasonably hot day, but on this occasion, the balance was off. Sad but recoverable. Hope to be back soon. Original Review: I love a roast dinner. I mean I LOVE a roast dinner… The Plough and Harrow is the best pub roast. Pure and simple. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Right from the starters… which were beautifully presented & flavourful, the tone was set. We had the Welsh lamb & the pork. Both meats just melted & the flavour was incredible! Stunning roast potatoes & a special shout out to the parsnips with a little magic twist. The stuffing, the crackling, the veg… it’s the complete package. If you’re in South Wales, this is the place to go for a Sunday roast. If you’re not in South Wales, go. My only negative critique is on the dessert side of things: the base of the Lemon Meringue tart was disappointing. While the lemon meringue had that balance of sweet and tangy, the base was tough & somewhere between cardboard and plastic & sadly ruins a really nice dessert. However… the clotted fudge ice cream is a must! The pub itself is light, fresh & inviting. The staff were lovely, friendly & very patient with my overly excited and indecisive partner. Though with a menu that is simply mouth watering, it’s hard to be decisive. We are really looking forward to going back.

Food was tasty, service sadly was not what I’ve come to expect locally, it was slow, no personality or friendliness and we weren’t told as we sat down specials of the evening, it was steak night but only overhead that as we’d already ordered. Bread just placed on table…what was it I assume love and care has gone into it along with the butter but again no explanation. Such a shame as we had high hopes and when you’re spending right now you don’t want to feel it was a waste of hard earned money.

We tried vegetarian, fish and meat dishes and all were delicious and sensibly portioned so that you can have 3 courses without being over full. I'll certainly be returning to this fine gastro pub. The ambiance was slightly spoiled by the speakerphone on the answer machine, which allowed you to hear the caller's messages loud and clear!

Rated as a 4* but it’s really a 3.5. Our food didn’t quite live up to the high expectations that we had for the Plough and Harrow. Some of the food was really good, but other dishes were a little disappointing and I could personally have cooked better at home. (Eg the curried leg of lamb - the meat was slightly dry, the curry sauce was too thick and sparse to counter the meat and the curry flavour didn’t seem to have penetrated into the lamb - suggesting that it hadn’t been marinated for long enough. Oh and the accompanying onion bhajis were pretty rubbish!) Good dishes were things like the scotch egg starter and the Japanese themed lamb. The service was ok, pretty good from most members of the waiting staff. A little slow for staff to return to take dessert orders which was unsurprising as we were tucked out of the way, but slightly annoying as we had kids who needed to get home to bed. Overall, I wouldn’t be expecting the best food on the Gower, I think there are a few places we’re you can get something better. But it’s worth a visit and the atmosphere and buzz is good.

Chose to come here for our Ruby wedding anniversary lunch. So delighted we did. The food was exceptional (curried lamb shank for him, slow cooked overnight roast pork for me) and both were delicious. With the meal was either a complimentary starter or dessert . The service was wonderful and a special thank you to Cerys for her kindness and friendliness. Altogether we had a very memorable experience.

We're lucky to live a few minutes down the road from the Plough. The food and service are always excellent and the friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate my children and also my elderly father on a recent visit. The Plough is streets ahead of local competition and a real asset for the community.

I will not step into this pub again because it has a cold welcome from it's host This is my second review of the place, I had to delete the first because it was read by the owner as something it's not. They need to update their Google opening hours, the manager should have the courtesy to speak to clients when there is a query instead of hiding behind their staff to deliver negative information. A simple "we're actually closed, I'm really sorry. We need to update our opening hours" I must admit a measly sign was outside, but the online hours were incorrect therefore I went inside to investigate. In terms of the host, if someone shies away from their responsibility to speak to a client, the client could, hypothetically, feel they didn't want to speak to them personally, especially if they were close enough to deliver the message themselves 🤷‍♂️ Their reason for not delivering the message could be anything, but instead of blatantly hiding, it would have been a normal human interaction if they delivered the message themselves to avoid the client feeling alienated. The host concentrating their gaze at the books/computer as the client walked out also didn't feel super suspicious 🤔 It could be said the host just may need a little bit of training to handle difficult conversations, take accountability and change their online opening hours. I am categorically not saying they may be perceived to be prejudice for avoiding a simple courtesy, by hiding behind a waitress to tell me they are not serving food and avoiding eye contact and focusing on the books as I left

Great atmosphere with food to match. The Cockle Arancini was terrific and the Hake Fillet en papillote was a meal on its own. hard to fault.
