The Rialto in Scottish Borders

Great little cafe/restaurant. Tasty food, good selection, well presented, friendly staff. What's not to like.

We called in for a coffee and cake whilst driving through the area. Good choice of reasonably priced cakes and beverages , which we enjoyed sat next to the open fire. Very friendly owner who advised us of places to visit along the east coast. Well worth a visit and supporting the local independent businesses.

My wife and I decided to go for a drive to Eyemouth today, and we came across little cafe the staff are very friendly we both only had a drive a a lovely slice of the New York cheesecake which was really lovely.

Proper specialty coffee, morning rolls and wonderful selection of cakes. Gluten free cakes! Super nice helpful staff. Plenty of seating, spaces for push chairs etc.

We recently called in to Rialto whilst up in Eyemouth on a Saturday afternoon. The gentleman who served us was very welcoming and gave us plenty time to decide what we were wanting. We decided upon the Lemon and Poppy seed cakes with a Coffee and the food was really nice, The lady who served us let out an audible sigh when she saw our 5 year old playing with the cushions on the sofa then proceeded to tell us to make sure that the feet were not on the Sofa. This is quite difficult with the size of the sofa and it was a soaking wet day so they would have been wet off anybody walking in anyway. The attitude of the lady in question who I presume is the owner/worker there was the only downside. Great for couples, not for families.

Popped in for lunch ,coffee and take home cake (for me anyway! ) hubby manages to eat that as well ! Delicious veggie sandwiches and fresh coffee .No meat options anymore but don't let that put you off .The food is fresh ,tasty and you won't miss the meat believe me !

An extremely cheerful and friendly welcome. Excellent coffee and delicious cakes. Have been a few times now when in area, and in fact pick day to visit Eyemouth when we know Rialto is open because it is so good.

Stopped off by chance as a break in our journey from Scotland to visit friends in North Yorkshire. What a find! Lovely ambiance, drawing you in with a warm greeting and service to match. The food was superb with some unusual choices - all ideal as a quick snack to complement your tea or coffee. We chose the Stem Broccoli and Gorgonzola Tart (quiche) with a Toasted Caponata Ciabatta options to share between the two of us - superb. Highly recommended and worth waiting for a table if busy as they are super efficient. It really is rare to find such a standard in a small coffee shop. Show your support to a great family business by going away from the harbour to the back streets and you will not regret it.

We had been based in Eyemouth for seal-watching and came across this beautiful hidden gem. The food was incredibly delicious, the owners were so kind and friendly and the ambiance was wonderful. We were here in December and the café had a cozy little fireplace. It was one of the nicest café experiences we've had, you must visit it here. We can't wait to go back.

Having a potter around Eyemouth today and in need of a good coffee and stumbled across Rialto and all I can say is what a find. Amazing coffee, a relaxed atmosphere and super friendly staff. They were amazing with our two young children and made them hot drinks to suit them (not too sweet which we appreciated as no one wants toddlers full of sugar). Their apple cake was to die for and the flat whites were the best we have had for a long time (the coffee was not bitter in the slightest). I would recommend anyone to pay this place a visit.

We visited last week for lunch. Purely by chance as a restaurant opposite told us to return in 10 minutes when they had cleared tables. (There was I spare table) U think that this was lucky. Food was well prepared, very friendly staff & excellent tea & coffee. Will certainly return if in the Borders region again.

Called in late afternoon just for a quick coffee but couldn't resist the home baking. Choc brownie and lime and pistachio shortbread both lovely and reasonably priced. 2nd visit was for lunch hot salmon sandwich and butternut squash panini. Cant fault the service cleanliness. Came here last year and returned today

We had read the reviews for The Rialto and wanted to visit before we left the area. After a long walk along the cliff tops at either side of the harbour we stopped in for coffee and scones. The Rialto has a nice atmosphere and lovely staff. The coffee was good as were the scones. We needed another long walk to work them off. Would definitely make a return visit the next time we’re in Eyemouth.

Excellent coffee and homemade cakes, comfortable and friendly. Good range of food at a reasonable price.

The Rialto serves stunningly good coffee, tea and food with a warm welcome and a relaxing atmosphere. Eyemouth is very lucky to have such a fantastic cafe, the friendly owners have got it spot on, it simply can't be faulted!

We visited the Rialto last weekend as we were staying at the local caravan park and we fancied some lunch and popped in here. We ordered the soup of the day which was chickpea, lentil and chilli. The bowl of soup was massive and it came with a large warm roll and butter. It was delicious. The atmosphere in the Rialto was pretty special too, laid back and gentle background music. If you visit Eyemouth definitely try this place for something to eat. We didn’t have any cake but there looked absolutely amazing.

We visited here after reading the reviews. What a great little place. We got a warm and friendly welcome. There were 4 different gluten free cakes to choose from. We had the Lime and Pistachio cake which was absolutely delicious. All the cakes are made by the owner. She said they always have a good choice of Gluten Free items. My partner who is a coffee snob said her cappuccino was one of the best she's had! I would definitely recommend this place.

Stopped off en route for coffee and cakes, tasty coffee, and even tastier cakes and biscuits made on the premises by the Italian joint lady owner. Perfect service and a great ambience. They tried so hard and achieved a lot.

We come to Eyemouth a few times a year, it’s a lovely compact town with beach. We love Coldingham sands and St abbs too. The BEST coffee and cake is at The Rialto. The service is genuine and caring too. Go.

Found this gem of a Place and was amazed. If you are vegan ask yourself why have you not been here?
