The Sandwich Station in North Ayrshire

£2.75 for the smallest flat white & £7.00 for the cheapest sandwich. I know prices have increased but this must be the most expensive carry-out sandwich and coffee in Scotland never mind Arran.

Lovely sandwiches and great location. Really slow service though, took about 15 minutes just to get my order taken with only two people ahead in the queue.

Cute little sandwich bar opposite the Claonaug ferry in Lochanza. Huge, genrously filled hot smoked Skipness salmon. Sublime smoky and most fish an addition of cream cheese and pickled cucumber makes the sandwich. Of course, there is more of the island star Bakehouse bread. Delicious really is an understatement. Called into the Sandwich Station three times during our 5 day stay on Arran! Could have tried everything off the menu, all served on proper bread. The warm pork shoulder and slightly warmed ham ones ended up being our “go to” choices. Each with tasty mayonnaise and dressings - absolutely delicious all round. As some have said not the cheapest but to be honest when the food is of this high standard, it’s worth it.

Immense breakfast rolls! Early morning visit after arriving on Arran on the early ferry. Beautiful setting in Lochranza, very friendly team and really lovely breakfast rolls with bacon, egg and the best black pudding I've ever had. Heartily recommend.

Absolutely Superb location to enjoy The World's Finest homemade sandwiches using local ingredients made with love. They were excellent and huge thanks to Miss Cote D Azur and her top team!!! My husband had the Ayrshire Ham Sandwich and says it is the best he has ever had. I had the Magnificent hot smoked salmon with mayo on foccacia and it was truly wonderful. Keep up the fantastic work and see you next time !

We sat in the sun, admiring the views eating the very best sandwiches ever, after reading the recent reviews we hoped it would be good and boy did it meet our hopeful expectations. Lovely service, amazing food, will recommend to anyone visiting Arran. 😊

Stopped here for a coffee and sandwich while waiting for the ferry, expecting the usual toastie sandwich. Totally blown away by the spiced pork focaccia - absolutely delicious. The flat white coffee also lovely. Price was totally reasonable. Will find an excuse to get back to Lochranza to have another sandwich!

Simply stunning, genuinely the best and most unusual sandwiches we’ve ever had. Broccoli with babaganush, goats cheese with apple and ginger chutney, stunning cakes. Amazing find - we’ll be back before we head home from holiday, thank you!

We came on our annual pilgrimage to Sandwich Station on our family holiday to Arran. It was as wonderful as ever. The bread was fab, I had an ancient grain (emmer) sourdough with smoked wild boar and pickled walnut mayo. It was delicious. My wife had the smoked mackerel mayo. They did ham and cheese rolls for the kids which were well received. Coffee was amazingly good. Also beautiful situation to sit and eat.

We found this little gem a couple of years ago when going round Arran during covid. We thought it was a bit expensive, however every time we visit Arran it’s top of the list of places to eat. Cheap? No. Absolutely amazing sandwiches? Absolutely Worth every penny

My partner and I visited the Sandwich Station whilst staying in Lochranza at the end of June. We were both so impressed with the quality of the sandwiches, they were delicious! Fantastic ingredients, mouth-watering options and incredibly friendly staff! We were served quickly and there are great views over to Kintyre on a clear day. Highly recommended!

A fantastic stop-off for lunch, straight off the ferry from Claonaig whilst on a motorbike tour. The blond lady serving was lovely with a great sense of humour! I went for the smoked mackeral sandwich with Arran mustard on warmed heritage white bread, it was heavenly. I would visit this area again just for another of those sandwiches. Thank you!

Had sandwiches here, Bread was sourdough with hazelnut and turmeric, fillings were five spice Pork with salad, Goats cheese with apple and Ginger chutney and mature cheddar with onion marmalade. All very tasty washed down with a couple of flat whites which were very tasty...

Arrived for the first ferry to Cloanig and as we did so the smell of the cooking hit us! We enjoyed bacon egg and black pudding barms served by a really friendly lady followed by really good quality coffee. Highly recommended.

Right by the ferry terminal and serving a great range of items at good prices. The Skipness (just across the water!) smoked salmon/cream cheese on sourdough got top marks from me - and, most importantly, my wife - who would eat it for every meal.

This is a very popular place which isn't a surprise. The sandwiches are excellent and you can eat them looking across to the Kintyre Peninsula.

The one and only place to grab a bite to eat. You will not be disappointed. The sandwiches we had were absolutely delicious. Also great to see vegetarian/vegan options being offered. Pity it's so far "north" we would have eaten here every day.

We came to Arran on the ferry and stopped here for a light lunch before continuing on our trip around this beautiful island. The sandwiches were delicious and the cake too along with nice hot coffee. Pleasant lady who served us and very reasonably priced.
