The Shalimar in Derbyshire Dales

As always the welcome and service was first class and the food exceeds expectations. This is one of our favourite destinations when dining out.

Every time we leave the Shalimar, we leave full of delicious food, smiles from the warm (often funny!) interactions with all staff, and already looking forward to our next visit knowing that we will get the same experience all over again. Customers are treated as family here.

Good food and service. Can recommend tandoori chicken, naan and rice all good quality, and an interesting selection of desserts as well!

We hadn’t planned to visit but due to our booking being cancelled elsewhere, The Shalimar was recommended to us instead! From the moment we walked in the team were super accommodating, you can tell a huge emphasis is placed not just on the food but also the service provided. 10/10 couldn’t fault either! The food was super tasty and affordable for both my partner and I. Unfortunately we’re not local although don’t live too far away, so we’ll definitely be back once we’re up that way again :)

Came here for a birthday meal and it was absolutely amazing. Each staff member was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent and would highly recommend . 5 stars all round

The Shalimar continues to excel in every way. Been using it since 2018, with visits to the Restaurant or enjoying a Takeaway which they deliver to us as we are local. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is cooked really well with the Chef more than happy to adjust the spiciness to suit your tastebuds. Easily gets 5/5 from us.

Our meals were freshly prepared and , so full of flavour. Piping hot food, a very comfortable restaurant and friendly staff.

Came here while on holiday from Burnley a town with and surrounded by many Indian restaurants. Can honestly say the food and service here was fantastic. Kids and adults loved it equally. The highlight meal of our holiday. Would happily recommend it to anyone.

Read on here that someone would walk 10 miles for the chicken madras here, make that 20! It was excellent as was everything else we sampled. Just as good as the food was the service from Ali, the owner and his team. All in all an excellent experience and we are already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended.

Normally the best curry around, ordered 2 curries for delivery tonight and can tell it’s been microwaved, the chicken was dry and the sauce had a layer on top that is notorious from microwave cooking, come on guys this isn’t good considering I paid £28 for it….
