Lovely place, lovely service, but considering the full English is £24.50 you would expect it to include toast. Being asked what toast I’d like when I ordered it, then subsequently being charged an extra £3 did mean I left the place annoyed after what was otherwise a lovely meal. Just include it in the full English price and avoid the issue.

The scones were fantastic. The canapé were good. 2 of the 7 desserts were excellent. The others were just okay. We were not asked if we wanted another serving. We had to search/make eye contact to get a waiter to come over for more tea. Couples sitting on either side of us were served/ received and seemed to be getting a different level of service than us. Dress the part get better service was the impression I got. Overall, it was a nice experience to have high tea in London. It was a bit pricey, and the lack of service diminished the experience. Research other places and then decide.

Loved the Wolseley. It was absolutely packed yet the service remained on point. We had a lovely waitress who was attentive, really lovely and friendly. Our food was delicious especially the Hake. Rated 4 stars though because the Flat Iron Steak was a rather chewy and bland in flavour, the new potatoes were way too salty and the green beans a bit too overcooked so slightly on the mushy side!. However the rest of the meal was lovely. We had goats cheese & asparagus tart and ham hock terrine to start. Complimentary bread with the best most delicious butter!! The Hake was fish of the day and beautifully cooked and served on stunning mushroom base. Couldn’t fit in a dessert but we were surprised with amazing macarons as a complimentary anniversary treat. Would definitely go again. £140 (2 starters 2 mains 2 cokes pot of tea double espresso and service charge)

We came for lunch at The Woseley on a Tuesday afternoon. Was Busy, recommend to book in advance. Open table doesn’t allow to book the same day so we called. The interiors are beautiful, big chandeliers with great gatsby vibes. I had the chopped chicken Salad, beef tartar and veal schnitzel. Amazing Negroni. Good portions, food came out very quickly. Our server was in a rush, didn’t introduce him self or say hello, he just came and gave us the menu. Then came to take order for food but no for drinks. The staff in general is friendly and polite.

A VERY DEPRESSING DINNER !! I haven't been to London for over 3 years now and the Wolseley used to be a great place to dine at that I always wanted to visit when in London. So I decided to do so this time although I did not have a reservation. I walked in 6pm, asked for a table for 1 for dinner, it all started with a cold reception, no smile, no welcome to the Wolseley, etc and then I was seated in the small dinning area to the left of the entrance (even though the restaurant was fairly empty) which is usually used for those having afternoon tea or just patisserie. After being seated for more than 10 minutes unattended, I had to wave to the waiter to be given a menu. The waiter looked depressed, very unhappy and didn’t smile at all. By this time, the table next to me occupied by a couple who had the “afternoon tea” set was vacated, it took the waiter more than 50 minutes to clear/clean that table. I ordered the chicken soup followed by the calves liver with a side of mash potatoes as well as carrots & parsnips, and also a glass of Rioja. The atmosphere was starting to weigh in me, no attention at all, sad & depressed staff arguing with each other … I was served my soup, plate was cleared by a sad robotic waiter who did not communicate at all not did he ask me “how was your soup”. Another 10 minutes went by and by this time, the whole experience was getting on to me. I was then served the main course by another unhappy and non smiling waiter, the main course was warmish rather than hot obviously from sitting for a while in the kitchen. I started eating but by this time I had lost my appetite by this entire experience and depressing atmosphere. Less than half way through the main course, I decide to leave. I paid the bill of £94.15 using the scanner on the table and then left. The staff saw me that I was leaving, saw that I hadn’t finished my dinner, and yet I walked as if I had never been there. This is by far one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I have ever had.

I visited after making a reservation, but I was kept waiting even after my reservation time. I was asked to wait at the bar next door, but unfortunately the bar was full of people and there was no space to wait. I guess it can't be helped since it's a popular restaurant, but the tables were close together and it was noisy, so it didn't feel like you could have a relaxing meal. It was a shame because the scones were so delicious, but I was soothed by the hospitality of the staff.

It took an hour from ordering to the time the food came out. What exactly is happening in the kitchen? The main dish was not good. . Especially the English breakfast was poor. . The food was absolutely delicious and you barely had to look up before a waiter appeared asking how they could help. The serving sizes were well proportioned and the settings and interior were beautiful. The atmosphere could be a little frosty at times, but I think that might have been because we went with a prepaid meal voucher that was won in a raffle and we aren't exactly like their usual clientelle. A meal for 4 ended up costing around £250 without the voucher and I would say that for the quality of the food and service in the restaurant that was well spent. If I ever had the oppurtunity to visit again I would definitely go back for more.

Totally overrated, we just had our classic afternoon tea at wolseley. Tbh the only actual good part were the scones and the chicken sandwich. Apart from that, the waitress had a condescending attitude , most of the cakes were extremely sweet and had a weird aftertaste. As i mentioned the only sandwich we enjoyed was the chicken curry one. I would not go back and would not recommend it to anyone else, paying more than 100 pounds for 2 people for an afternoon tea of this quality is preposterous. Not to mention to had to seek the attention of the waitress every time as she was completely ignoring us. Felt scammed

We went there for dinner with friends last night and it wasn’t what it used to be. The food was ok but steak was supposed to be medium rare but arrived medium. We didn’t send it back as one person would then have to wait for her meal whilst we were eating. The worst part was the service. At a restaurant like this you expect an amazing service. We had 4 or 5 different waiters, the first one knew nothing about wine and it just felt like a very odd experience.. just like they didn’t care at all. It took them 20min to ask for drink order and another 20 to get them. We had to chase them to order food and ask for stuff. And they should care considering the service charge + cover charge. We have had better service at Wagamama..! We won’t be going back there again.

Me and a friend stoped by here for a quick lunch on Saturday. We ordered 2 bowls of soup, while we sat there we had our glasses of water refilled once the entire time we sat there. We were there for around an hour and a half and sat with empty glasses. I understand that it was busy so I was okay with it once we finished our soup we ordered a creme brûlée. While we were waiting for it to come out we decided to pay our tab through the QR code on the table. We sat there for around another 30 minutes eating our dessert then decided to head out. As we were leaving we got stopped by one of the staff. They thought we were dining and dashing and stopped us without confirming that we had paid the bill. Which we payed a full 30 minutes prior to us leaving. I’m not sure if it was cause we looked young or anything but our total bill didn’t come out to more than £40. It was incredibly embarrassing getting stopped on the way out. Either way it just ruined the whole experience and I don’t think I would come again.

They kindly moved us to a better table when we asked at the start of our experience. That was generous. After that we waited 20 min to have the waiter to get our order. And another 25 to get the food. Our booking was at 12 and we received brunch at 12:45. No bread and butter in the meantime. The Bloody Mary’s were only super spicy with average body and consistency. My friend ordered Severn & Wye oak smoked salmon which came as a very thin and flat layer with a piece of wrapped lemon on it with two very thin and elegantly small buttered slices of soda bread. I am sure it was supposed to be minimalistic and elegant but ended up looking very depressing. My other friend ordered a small steak tartare with a small egg - nothing elegant to mention here - and I ordered Eggs Benedict. Nothing to die for. No personality. The only surprisingly good food were the French beans. The place was noisy, the waiters distracted, the experience average. Not as I remembered it

It was sublime. My partner had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs- which was superb. The Wolseley is beautiful, elegant and yet comfortable. The staff friendly, attentive and professional. It did seem that our waitress was slightly distracted for a while, and there was a period when we were trying to subtley attract her attention, but to no avail, as she seemed completely engrossed in a protracted whinge to one of her colleagues. I'd still thoroughly recommend residents and visitors to London, to make a reservation and see how breakfast should be done. I'll definitely be back to experience the Wolseley at other times of day

The Wolseley is normally great, my favourite. However when I went recently the soup was boiling, microwaved I assume. Also, on the last two occasions more tables appear to have been installed in some areas, there simply isn’t enough room to fit comfortably between the benches and tables unless you are a size zero which make the, quite expensive, experience considerably less pleasant than it used to be.

Love the Wolseley even though we were seated in Siberia (and my colleagues knew I booked it so it was clear I have no clout 😂) - but, as always, lovely food, lovely atmosphere, lovely service.

Impressive place to have breakfast. The breakfast is great, prices are ok for such a fancy place. One should definitely reserve a day in advance. Nevertheless, after paying up, the staff urge you indirectly to leave, even if you have not finished yet.

I had a delicious Eggs Benedict and pot of coffee at the Wolseley on Tuesday last. There is a relaxed ambience to this fine dining room and the service is both prompt and friendly. The room is historical, dating back to the 1920's when it was initially a car show room and subsequently a bank branch. A must see for anyone who likes their food.

We came in for lunch having reserved for an early birthday celebration. We ordered our drinks and then waited (unwillingly) for about 15 minutes before ordering our starter & main course. Our starter came out probably 15/20 minutes later, and only then did we receive our drinks! We then had about another 40 minute wait for our main and it was very slow getting our dessert orders in and served. Overall we were there for well over 2 hours, which for 2 people is very slow indeed. It's a real shame as when we did receive the food, it was superb.

Lovely afternoon tea - here just after Christmas. Platter with scones, jam and cream and other delicious bits, tea full of flavour, champas topped the afternoon off nicely. Would like to go back one day.

This was a delightful evening for my sister’s birthday, in a stunning environment, with wonderful staff, delicious food and excellent wine. We loved our waiter (chap with the swept back grey hair in case we can get him a bonus!) and as with Brasserie Zedel, they make you feel special whilst keeping the vibe relaxed and casual too. I very much enjoyed the goat’s cheese and caramelised onion tart, a faultless dish, then the indulgent gnocchi with beautiful use of herbs, lots of seasoning, and generous, highly flavourful wild mushrooms. Corbières was splendid, and we were also enthused with the bread and the quality of the butter. I finished with a little salted caramel éclair; true, I could have eaten two of them, but to be fair I was well satiated by then! One other note; using a knife I had a scoop of my friend’s sorbet; 10 seconds later an extra spoon magically appeared in front of me. Attention to detail like that doesn’t just make your evening, it gives you memories which will always be there. Thank you, The Wolseley!

Resumo da ópera: Não comam jantar no the wosley

One of the best places to have English High Tea. We ordered two sets to be shared between the three of us and it was sufficient for us.
