Went for a family birthday celebration on Saturday afternoon. Everything was perfect from the large varied lunch menu, great sized portions and value for money. The restaurant was busy, as usual, but the staff were magnificent and extremely attentive to our party and kept the drinks flowing. Oh and the banter is spot on too! Well done guys 👏 👏👏

Awesome chicken and broccoli with Penne pasta. Tasty white sauce with just a hint of spice. The menu said something like you'll regret it if you don't try it...well I tried it and it was excellent.👍🏻👍🏻

We visited here for a late lunch and the food was fantastic the mains and the desert were amazing and the price was superb .

Update Oct 23: Still coming here to dine out and still not had a poor experience. Staff remain as good as always and familiar faces are still front of house. Good value - especially with the 12-3 and 3-5.45 set menus. Now also do take away, so can pick up and have food at home, or arrange a delivery. Original review: We have been coming here as a family for several years now and continue to be impressed with the fantastic food, friendly and super helpful staff and great surroundings. It is a great wee award winning Italian restaurant (2021-22 award winner) and I hope it continues to improve and win more awards. The prices you pay, for the food you get and the generous servings makes it great value for money. We are yet to have a poor dining experience. Special kudos to the staff who are genuinely friendly and great with kids. As an example; We had a birthday dinner for our daughter recently and the staff sang her happy birthday and presented a wee cake to her with a candle - all unorganised before hand (we didn't want to create a fuss). It was a lovely wee gesture for us all and didn't have to be done - that they did, shows they care about the customer. They are a great asset to the restaurant and it is telling the turnover of staff isn't regular. The restaurant was refurbished a couple of years back and is a nice place to dine - think rustic Italian style. Seats: comfy, tables: substantial, crockery and cutlery: good quality and clean. Make sure you book ahead! Overall: highly recommended.

Lovely staff and delicious food. I do wish restaurants would end the Covid induced time restrictions. They're not placing tables 2m (or even 1m) apart so why are we still having to tolerate canteen times? A meal out is a social occasion not just eating it and beating it.

Lovely place for a bite to eat. Our table had the calamari, mussels in white wine and cream, and mozzarella sticks to start. I had the mussels they were lovely. For mains, 2 of us had Mia casa pasta. One had chicken with peppercorn sauce with roast potatoes & veg. All portions were great size. Also had a chicken nuggets kids meal which was lovely and fresh and great quality. The garlic bread was awesome too.

Superb familt run traditional italian restaurant. Wonderful food great service,lovely comfortable atmosphere,great for any occasion,a simple meal or special celebration. A real hidden gem,very popular so I would definitely book in advance.

Went for lunch yesterday and from our arrival the staff made us feel at home and were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the gastronomic fare that was on offer. The 2 starters, carroza and mussels were exquisite and of extremely high quality. The main courses, spaghetti carbonara and chicken with mushroom in a white creamy sauce were sublime and packed with flavour. The dessert and coffee were just as good quality and all for £35. I cannot praise this place highly enough and will be returning very soon. Keep up.the high standards and friendly service. A1 and faultless.

My friend and I always enjoy eating at this restaurant - because of the lovely, friendly staff, the delicious food, and nice relaxed atmosphere. The service is excellent, and today I had my favourite, pollo al pepe followed by tiramisu - mmmm! My friend thoroughly enjoyed his food too. We look forward to our next visit.

After reading excellent on line reviews, we decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. A nice welcome, terrific food, and great service from a very friendly staff. We'll be back.

We booked this for my sons 18th as we knew they could cope with there being over 30 of us , the staff could not be more on the ball ensuring our drinks were kept topped up along with the delicious food being served , nothing was compromised. They had all the staff join in when Eddie the best front of house you could wish for came out with my son Finlay’s cake. I was even happy when my bill came as it so reasonable. Would recommend to anyone .

Got takeaway pizza pasta lunch great,value for money and one of best pizzas I have had.partner had Mia casa penne and said it was excellent.

Very very poor. My partner had a piece of glass in her bread. The waiter refunded her for the starter. Pretty awful service as she could have choked.

Went for dinner, staff lovely and found us a table with a little jiggling about. I had Ravioli rafael delicious and my son had a pizza napoletana which he said was very nice, all food was lovely and hot. Had forgotten about this place but will be going back soon

I have been here for dinner lots of times and also have had a lot of take aways from here. We went last week for dinner and it was not great. I ordered the bruschetta for starter and they gave me half the usual portion! Usually it's 2 slices of bread with the tomatoes on top. This time they served one slice with tomatoes. Yet still charged me £6.50! I got the chicken caesar salad for my main and it was absolutely awful. Wayyyy too much dressing. Massive plate of leaves, drowned in a shop bought tasting sauce, with a few stingy bits of what looked like leftover chicken. My husband got a burger and it was bland and falling apart. What's worse is that tiny flies were all over the food. Couldn't get peace to eat there were so many. My husband killed 8 but more just kept coming back. Then there was the very wobbly table. My husband had to keep his foot on one of the legs so our drinks didn't spill. The young boy who served us was lovely and pleasant. I really doubt we will be back though, to be honest. They're not exactly cheap and when you're not getting what you pay for plus having to contend with a swarm of flies and a table that needs repaired - it's hardly an enjoyable experience. Hugely disappointing!

We decided on a whim to eat out but were unsure whether we would get a table as this restaurant always seems to be popular. We were given a table without a problem and were warmly welcomed by all waiting staff. The food was quick to arrive even though I was having 2 starters with my families mains. Nothing was a problem and the service was impeccable. We will return.

This restaurant has been fully revamped from the family friendly restaurant that was loved by locals and surrounding areas, Into a fast food restaurant. What should have been a nice relaxing evening turned out to be a fancy priced McDonald's, between ordering and food on the table was literally 5 mins. 3 times the waiter asked to take the plates while we were still eating. If you are on the meter and need to grab and go this is the place for you.

Absolutely delicious. It's a beautiful place inside and the food os really tasty. Can't help but fo again. They have a fab takeaway place too

There aren't a lot of good restaurants in Johnstone, this is one of the few exceptions and with that in mind I'm giving it a four stars. The Italian food is rich and flavorful for the price paid and the presentation is nice although perhaps a little lacking in aesthetic flare. The restaurant itself can be a little crowded sometimes too as they've packed a lot of tables inside and they can get pretty busy but even during rush hour they've never messed up my order and I can speak to the consistency as the quality has never wavered (for better or worse) Overall, if you're not looking to leave the area and you want to eat some very good food without breaking the bank this is a great place to start. (Though you can find better in Glasgow at places such as La Laterna, though the price is significantly higher).

I got some chicken thing with peppercorn sauce and chips . Looked like two slices of chicken from a supermarket i thought it would have been a beast of chicken . Skinny fries frozen chips not even hand cut chips . Peppercorn sauce was bland . The steak didn't look good fatty . All in all for paying over £60 wasnt value for money that was with deep fried mushrooms and olives to start

After dropping my car in a garage, I was looking for a cafe where I can stay, read and wait. I could not find any coffee shop so popped in this restaurant. I was looking for something light and nice which I found here. It offers Italian food without modification.

As a family of eight we all had the set menu. Portions were a great size as were mains. Think just about everyone had doggy bags to take home. Although the restaurant was really busy service was prompt and food was brought out very quickly. Food did not disappoint and look forward to eating here again.

Everything except the mussels was the usual excellent. Normally the mussels are delicious but this time the sauce was stodgy.

If you aren't taking advantage of the lunchtime special takeaway what are you doing with your self? By far the best price and quality in Johnstone. It is always hot and fresh. Friendly staff too.

My wife and I have been here 3 times in a week. Everything we have had recently and in the past is simply fabulous! Pizza, pasta, risotto, chicken dishes, all lovely. Best, and most generous portioned, prawn cocktail I have ever had too! Great portions, lovely staff, and very good value, especially the lunch and late afternoon menu. 10 out of 10, highly recommend.😁

What a fabulous lunch , staff are excellent , atmosphere was brilliant the place is buzzing even on a saturday lunch time which says it all. The food backs all of this up I have chicken wings in sauce which was so tasty followed by pepperoni pizza (had to take half home) freshest tastiest I have eaten in years couldn't recommend a place more will be back

Had the set lunch here today with a friend, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was delicious. I had pollo al pepe and my friend had chicken caesar salad.....soooo tasty! We'll definitely be back.

No real surprise our home delivery prawn starters and chicken mains were delish as we have dined in the retaurant before, but as far as take away goes it was as good as dining in the restaurant, absolutely spot on, it was great. If you haven't been, don't bother considering anywhere else locally, there's no competition.

Trattoria Roma is a jewel. It's really easy to get to. Johnstone train station is a stone's throw away. I booked on Friday for Saturday afternoon..I was told it would be fully booked but they had one table available. The place was jumping and the atmosphere was just as you'd expect in a busy Italian restaurant. Plenty of staff. Really professional. The food was excellent. Portions on the large side.....not a complaint. House wine delightful. 2 x starter, 2 x main, 2 large wines, 2 x coffee, 4 x liqueurs........just over £50! Would highly recommend.

Went for dinner tonight at Trattoria Roma in Johnstone. The food was really good spaghetti with muscles in a tomatoe and chilli sauce was so tasty and the muscles were fabulous very reasonable prices rustic inside but very clean staff very nice happy smiley team.lovely meal good coffee

Honestly cannot recommend this place enough, service is phenomenal, food is out of this world and the atmosphere is always so welcoming.
