We cycled over 10 miles to visit this entity which apparently has not been a tea room for over 3 years. It is still showing on the Herefordshire publicity material and cycle guides as a tea room. The photographs on Trip Advisor are also very misleading. There are currently no tea rooms in Pembridge.

What a joy it was to discover this cafe and shop! The hosts were extremely friendly, making us feel very welcome. There were lovely goodies to take the eye in all three areas that make up Ye Olde Steppes. Goodies to eat, goodies to wear and a great variety of goodies to drink. We had popped in to get takeaway drinks on readiness to get the bus back to Eardisland after a long walk. We were persuaded to take a seat to enjoy our refreshments in comfort with the promise of a lift back to Eardisland afterwards. The coffee and hot chocolate were very good and we had ample time to look at everything else that was on offer. We eventually left with some of the eating goodies and a bottle of very delicious Ludlow gin. Sam, our driver was a lovely lady and it was interesting to hear how the family had come to own the business. I would definitely put it on your list of ‘to visit’ if you are up in that area. We will definitely be revisiting next time that we are in the area.

We stayed in the holiday cottage behind Ye Olde Steppes last week. It was a joy to pop in (most days!) and pick up locally sourced produce. We were always met with a smile and a really warm welcome. A shop that is well and truly the heart of the village. It made our stay so much more enjoyable. I can't comment on the tea room as it wasn't open, but had it been we would definitley have taken advantage. Thank you!

If you find yourself in the vicinity of the delightful, black and white Herefordshire village of Pembridge, I urge you to stop for refreshments at the Olde Steppes shop/cafe. Genuinely welcoming and hospitable, flavoursome coffee, a mini emporium of locally sourced produce and good old- fashioned conversation. Once over the threshold you are acknowledged with a smile and made to feel valued as a customer. Places like this are central to village life and wider, rural communities. Long may the Olde Steppes continue to provide a place for people to connect, converse and consume! Thank you.

Unfortunately there are now no indoor seating only takeaway and sit on just 2 outdoor picnics benches behind shop on church green. This was lovely for us, as I bought takeaway coffees and a fab custard slice and it was sunny and warm! This shop is a treasure trove of stuff! from basics (only village shop) and other more wondrous goodies of all sorts. It was a disappointment not to sit indoors as it is the most beautiful building inside, full of beams etc.

And we have traveled! I you have been here you know what I mean. The staff were all so helpful and polite and - it was like going back in time! This is how it used to be. When we visited last year I said it was the BEST TEAROOM EVER but somehow this time they have managed to be even better! The coffee is quite simply the best I have ever tasted. I am a coffee lover but in many places in the UK the coffee is either weak or bitter, This is definitely not the case here! the coffee is rich and aromatic, full flavoured & without a trace of bitterness. I had Americano with pouring cream and my husband a de-caff capuchino: both were 10/10: it is worth an 80 mile round trip to go there just for the coffee. BUT what can I say in praise of the afternoon tea?! HEAVEN on a plate! The scones are large, warm & fresh from the oven and utterly delicious: I had a fruit scone and my husband a cherry scone, both with clotted cream and jam (they also serve butter but the cream portion is so generous that we didn't need to use the butter). The jam is really good quality too. We hadn't eaten lunch so we were naughty and also had a toasted tea-cake which was also very delicious and served with generous portions of butter and jam. The owners and their staff are really welcoming and to crown it all it is a traditional black and white building located in a traditional black & white village. It is definitely the best tea-room we have ever visited. THANK YOU to everyone who works there for making it such a treat to visit. (Heather & Oak)

After reading the good reviews in the local paper about this quirky little tea shop, my wife & I turned up without a reservation at probably their busiest time of the week .. the owner went out of her way to find us a table and after a few minutes wait she got us seated

called into The Stepps with my buddy whilst in Pembridge . We got an amazing welcome ! Ordered coffee and garlic mushrooms on toast topped with Stilton with a fresh salad on the side, absolutely delicious ! The Stepps is a 500 yr old building, with a wealth of character , lovely atmosphere too . As well as the tea room there is a well stocked shop and a wine cellar. A big thankyou to Samantha, Sarah and Ruby for looking after us so well ( and sharing some good humoured banter ! ). If you are in or near Pembridge, you must visit the Stepps, you wont be disappointed.

Fab Fab Fab. Popped in on my own with my dog for a light refreshment. From the minute i arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Water & biscuits for the dog straight away, along with a big fuss from the owner, how very thoughtful. Thoroughly enjoyed my warm scone and chilled Dunkertons cider. Super friendly staff and owner. I can see why it's got such great reviews. As others have said I felt very at home, and will be returning soon for sure. Highly recommend.

I am lucky enough to live not too far from this amazing place :o) It has to be the most friendly place to eat in the whole of the UK, the owner, Sue, greets all the customers as if they are long lost cousins! And the food is superb, I have eaten there about 8 or 9 times now and have never been dissapointed and have taken several guests for various occasions and they have always come away very happy and with a full stomach. My favourite dish would be their special quiches, always light and very tasty, and the cakes, well, the choices are always too many to choose from. I love the place and will continue to go there as often as I can.

A wonderful welcome. Great food (recommend the quiche) and lovely tea. Felt really 'wanted' and were seated and served very nicely. the menu was great and the 'specials' very appetising. We had a dog with us and were made very welcome inside or out which was great. Very dog friendly environment.

We had a fabulous cream tea here with beautiful scones and there were lots of choices for drinks as well. The staff couldn’t do enough for you . We also had a breakfast which was gorgeous with the best bacon I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay the holiday cottage behind the Steppes is lovely and sleeps 4 people and is run by Sam and Adrian the owners of the Steppes who are really lovely people and so helpful. Highly recommended

What an absolute culinary delight. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. We all had a different dish and every single one was amazing. Starters- pork Asian style salad, soufflé, crab cakes and the pate- all so tasty. Mains- pork belly, risotto, rump steak and the burger- every other mouthful was punctuated with one of us saying “oh my goodness this is amazing!” Fully fully recommended

11 of us (pre-booked) arrived on the evening of Friday, 6th March for diner. What a warm welcome from Karen it was. Drinks orders quickly taken and fulfilled. Food arrived shortly afterward. Good, tasty, wholesome pub grub. Discovered that Karen and I both were from the Rugby area at one stage, so had a little chat about how it had changed. If I'm ever in the area again, I shall be back to sample the hospitality again. John T.
