16/03/2017: I have been visiting Le Vacherin regularly for the past fifteen years or so,… and I have never been dissapointed by the place. Great traditional setting and decor, the service is great and attentive though discreet, and the food is excellent and as good as the standard you would expect from more high end eateries like the Ramsay's or Marco Pierre White's in central London, or La Trompette on the other side of Chiswick.
20/02/2017: Our experience in Le Vacherin on Valentine's day was disappointing. One of us had to eat gluten free so that had been specified when booking. Just to make sure we had telephoned a few days in advance to discuss that requirement and were assured it would be met.On arrival before 7 pm, we were shown to a table closely alongside two other people although the restaurant was fairly empty.People arriving after us had their included champagne cocktail delivered promptly but ours came with the first course. That first course of a four-course menu was a dish the gluten sensitive person could not eat.The waitress was not aware of the booking requirement so the manager was called. He had limited communication skills but offered to have the chef prepare an alternative cold dish. We pointed out that should have happened before we arrived.A request for gluten free bread was met with the response "We don't have any."For the second course, one of us was served a different dish to the one ordered. The other dish was adapted to omit flour, advantageously, by substituting warm quail's eggs for Scotch egg.The main courses were delicious and well prepared but with little attention to presentation on Valentine's day.The French style of having few vegetables was evident. A succulent duck dish needed more than a sliver of grilled endive.Choices for the final course were limited but a reasonable creme brulee suited both diners.

14/03/2017: Me & my partner enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal here yesterday evening.I was impressed from the second I entered the restaurant till the second I left. The staff were very welcoming. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering it and the gaps between courses was just right (simple but annoying when you feel like you are been rushed out. Or worse waiting what seems like a eternity between courses). We opted for a set price 3 courses and house Champagne. I would defiantly recommend this option. We will defiantly be visiting next time we are in London.
14/03/2017: We were a party of 8 for the set 3 course lunch for £25 (plus an extra £5 if you wanted to add a glass of wine - very good value!). Bearing in mind it was a Saturday and the restaurant soon filled up, we were impressed that we were able to have a leisurely meal and were not hurried in any way. The staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating, lowering the blinds when the sunlight made it too hot, changing a burger which was not quite as "well done" as expected and even taking a group photo for us all.As for the food, I would recommend the roasted goat's cheese to start and the roasted chicken leg for main course which was beautifully complemented with the crunch of hazelnuts and a delicious, quite sweet grape jus. I was only slightly disappointed with the passion fruit creme brûlée and mango sorbet as it was quite large in diameter but a little shallow and not very warm. An extra welcome touch was a complimentary box of mini croissants and pain au chocolat which was served along with a basket of a variety of breads. All in all, delicious food, good but not too fussy service and a lovely venue so I will definitely be returning.

16/03/2017: We had a Red Letter package deal which had included a boat trip along the Thames (highly recommend). Anyway, arrived a bit early for our meal and instantly welcomed into the restaurant. Very friendly staff, who showed us to our table and served us with our welcome champagne cocktail. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious. It was my birthday and as a very special touch, Lorena, the Restaurant Manager, presented me with a slice of birthday cake with a message on and a glass of bubbly. What a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in London. We sat in front of the window which we liked, as it is fun to people watch whilst eating! Lorena and staff were excellent and made our evening a memorable one. Thank you.
01/03/2017: We have visited this place during quiet evening..Staff were so friendly with good serving skills..The food was ok not really special

Fahrenheit Restaurant & Bar

Fountainbridge / Craiglockhart, Edinburgh, City of, 20-30£
04/03/2017: Nice menu well cooked food served by pleasent staff - exactly the way it should be. Steaks are normally very good but I had the Thai curry fish with prawns and this was excellent.
15/02/2017: Had a great meal and was well looked after when visiting at the weekend with a stag group of 20. Everyone was very happy with their meals and with the drink and free bet offer it was very reasonable. Would certainly visit again when hopefully a little luckier on the roulette. Special mention to our waitress who patiently took 9 card payments!

04/02/2017: Had a great evening. I had a steak which was amazing in taste. Good price for 3 courses. All in a separate room away from the gambling but was able to go through for a gamble after. Staff where also very helpful and friendly
04/02/2017: I had a 3 course meal here. Ribs for starters, pork belly with apple cider sauce, onion mash and cabbage followed by an Eton mess special for dessert and it all tasted amazing, I was so full afterwards. I couldn't fault the service either. Very attentive, didn't leave you waiting too long. They had a good offer on 2 for 1 cocktails as well so I obviously took advantage of that! I recommend anyone to come and eat here and I would definitely come back here again :)

16/03/2017: 8 of us went for a birthday celebration. Got a lovely round table. Had the £14.95 3 course menu. The rump was really nice & peanut butter cheesecake was amazing!!! Staff were very friendly & helpful. It was a Wednesday so not much going on but still a great night
13/03/2017: A lovely night out for a meal with Southend Tangent Club and their husbands. A really great value meal.

Razzi Restaurant

Cathays, Cardiff, 30-45£
21/09/2016: I booked afternoon tea at Razzi at the Hilton to celebrate myself and my friend birthday. I had researched and chose this venue. Was quite disturbed to find the restaurant has closed down and we were seated in the metropole bar. I have to say the staff there couldn't do enough for you they were excellent but the bar area is more or less in the foyer and not the relaxing atmosphere you would find for afternoon tea. The food was excellent I cant complain about that and to be fair so was the value but the food came on 'wooden boxes' and not what you expect afternoon tea to be served on which was very disappointing. Tea was refilled as much as you want which was great and we were given a complimentary drink which was lovely too I think because the 'venue' really wasn't what it should have been. Overall it was ok .. would I go again ... if they moved into a proper restaurant and went to good old fashioned cake stands I would but not the way it is.
25/07/2016: Booked this to kill an hour and kill an hour it did. There's two parts to the restaurant, the conservatory side and the dark, cold side, which is the side we were. For some reason you just feel out of the whole atmosphere etc when sitting where we did.The food was ok, it was a few sandwiches which you could compare to a birthday party and some deserts, which were also ok. I'm sorry I can't gush over this place as it was just ok. Would I go again? No. Just not worth the money.

Galvin Bistrot de Luxe

Marylebone High Street, City of London,Westminster
19/03/2017: Visited Bistrot again for the fixed price menu, we were celebrating my daughter and wife's birthday and wanted to be assured of great food and service. As usual Galvin didn't disappoint, all the staff were friendly and accommodating, food and wines were absolutely beautiful, thank you so much for a lovely afternoon. The restaurant was busy and lively, good to see other people appreciate a great place to eat.
18/03/2017: This was an excellent value fixed menu, You need to book online or tell them you want this before you arrive otherwise you have to go for the other menu options. There is a wine option to go with the courses for £19 which made this lunch delicious. The service was superb. portions are small but we enjoy to eat in this way at lunch. A really lovely introduction to the food at this bistrot, will definitely return for the a la carte menu. Attentive staff, nice wait time between courses. A smashing lunch.

11/02/2016: Calarsi nell'atmosfera e assaporare sino in fondo.Tutto è incantevole, la location, il cibo e l'atmosfera che si vive..

Asia de Cuba

18/03/2017: I had a wonderful meal here - sharing plates and they were delicious, though the lobster mash was too rich for my liking. Lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.Itś not your average restaurant so I probably use it for a special occasion.I have booked it a few times for business lunches.
18/03/2017: Totally recommend. We went a la carte. Ceviche dishes superb, snapper dish especially. Stole the show. Cuban sandwiches were generous and tasty. Desserts less impressive but decent. We mixed and matched a few options so chocolate chili sauce for donuts actually went really well with chocolate cake-y dessert.Cocktails excellent. Obviously mojito is decent but espresso martini was brilliant.Have to say, service was overall excellent. Bit slow at times, but friendly, patient and helpful. Great atmosphere, very buzzy. Will definitely return.

Loch Fyne - Portsmouth

19/03/2017: We visited on a busy Saturday evening and we're pleased to have popped in. Welcoming staff and interesting menu and wine list.About the right price and overall a good experience......many thanks.
18/03/2017: Simply great food service and ambience they really do deserve a medal. We were sat down immediately as we wished and given a choice of tables. Food arrived very quickly after we ordered and great attentive service as required. Will visit again soon

Elena's L'Etoile

Bloomsbury, Camden, 30-45£
12/03/2017: This came highly recommended based on its glory days. Unfortunately, it seems this once famous institution is a little tired. My food was fine, my friends' was apparently pretty good - but the service was painfully slow and sloppy. We waited ages for each course (and the waiter jovially told us we had waited 30 minutes for dessert because he had forgotten to submit the order to the kitchen), waiters thrust glasses down with no real care. And to add to this, the wine list is rather over-priced. I think the abundance of offers available on this restaurant tells you everything you need to know. One of only five restaurants where I've taken the service charge off the bill.
11/03/2017: Pre-booked dinner at this neighbourhood restaurant. They do a limited choice pre-theatre dinner with glass of wine for £15.95 not valid with TasteCard. However 50% off a la carte meals with TasteCard. Highly recommend the cod with Provençal vegetables, so delicious. Extensive dessert menu. Downside £5.95 for still water.

Loch Fyne

Leith, Edinburgh, City of, 60-100£
18/03/2017: We eat in Loch Fyne reasonably regularly, including this branch. This visit didn't live up expectation. It was busy but not full. It took half an hour to take an order. The kitchen and waiting staff forgot both the starter and main course for one of our party and needed to be reminded that she had been ignored for both courses. The food was plated at different times meaning that the food was at differential temperatures on the plates and the fish overcooked. Two hours plus later when we declined coffee the manager said she'd get a bill, ignoring the "friends" card on the table. She had given some discount apparently but then discovered we were eligible for loyalty discount, which was greater. She redid the bill with the discount as if the meal was perfect and withdrew her compensatory discount. Customer care! The moral of the story? Don't expect too much in a busy Loch Fyne!

Fahrenheit at Genting Club

05/02/2017: The staff here are lovely and will look after you with a genuine smile on their face. We hadn't booked and didn't intend to eat here, but glad we did. I had the prawns to start 6 huge juicy and piping hot, delicious. My husband had the special of the day a beetroot and feta salad but got no beetroot - he enjoyed it all the same! He then had the cod with potato rostie again amazingly cooked, my sirloin steak was slightly over cooked I asked for medium rare but still melt in the mouth, I agree with previous comment that the chips were undercooked but my husband said they were delicious so it must be down to the way you like'um! I don't think I would book this restaurant for a special occasion but if I was in town or wanted food when at the casino I certainly wouldn't look elsewhere.
02/02/2017: Excellent staff, great price, the staff went out of their way to help with your needs. Great place and casino is great.

Egerton House Hotel

Brompton, Kensington and Chelsea
02/03/2017: This was our first traditional English afternoon tea and the experience was truly memorable! The tray of sanwiches, scones and cakes was plentiful, the teas full of flavor, and the service (by Joao) absolutely impeccable. And the milieu is like a time machine, it takes you away from the hustle and bustle and you just focus on the here and now. Strong recommendation.
27/02/2017: A truly great 5 star experience. From front of house to housekeeping must be the best hotel in London
