Gauthier Soho

West End, City of London,Westminster, 60-100£
17/03/2017: My last name is Gauthier, so when we saw this restaurant listed in a travel guide we had to go. We were not disappointed! The attention of staff coupled with fantastic food made for an evening we won't soon forget. It is not inexpensive, but worth it!Merci beau coup!
12/03/2017: To all of the wonderful staff. We came here on a recommendation and don't regret it. What a beautiful house, and from the moment we arrived the staff were so attentive but but not overly so. We chose the tasting menu and every dish was a delight. The truffle risotto was out of this world, very glad we chose this as an option! The sommelier helped us select a wine to go with our food as we didn't want to go for the pairing. The only fault I could pick out is they didn't have the wine we wanted! We will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Gordon Ramsay

Royal Hospital, Kensington and Chelsea, >100£
29/03/2017: Visited this restaurant for my husbands 70th birthday, the food was to die for, I have never understood the saying a dining experience, but my god this is definitely it, you could not fault one thing about the place, staff were amazing especially Jean-Claude so well looked after, yes it's expensive but you are getting amazing food and service, they bought my husband a cake out at the end of our meal which was a lovely touch, and we were also shown around the kitchen which was amazing, could not believe the amount of staff and how immaculately clean they all were as was the kitchen, even the head chef never had a splash of food on him. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are lucky enough to get in, I booked 6 months ahead.n
28/03/2017: If you expect to be blown away that's exactly what happens had high expectations and was stunned with what happened. They went over the top and further this is definitely THE BEST RESTAURANT in the world food service and everything around it from decoration till the end

The Ritz Restaurant

St James's, City of London,Westminster
18/03/2017: I visited the Ritz restaurant for the second time last week, using a voucher that was given to me and my partner as a Christmas present. It included a three course meal, a welcome glass of champagne, and two glasses of wine each.It is advertised as "champagne on arrival", however they obviously forgot. After twenty minutes we reminded them, then the waiter bright it out out, and said "here's your champagne to welcome you" in an attempt to cover their oversight! My starter was a mushroom dish. I would describe the broth as slightly superior to an oxo cube, but only slightly. I had lamb for the main course. It was ok, albeit slightly bland, and a tiny portion! There was no veg, so it felt incomplete to me, and not particularly nutritious. The staff were friendly, and the ambience was of course great. But I was disappointed with the overall experience this time.
17/03/2017: We visited The Ritz on the 18th February for Live At The Ritz. What can I say other than WOW. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the staff were attentive and friendly, the food was amazing and the entertainment was excellent. We arrived early with the intention to have a glass of champagne but there was a queue of people waiting to go into the bar, a very helpful member of staff showed us to a seat and brought our drinks to save us waiting and made us feel very welcome. We were then shown to our very nice table in the restaurant where we were seated adjacent to each other rather than opposite whdere we could talk easily and both look towards the band and dance floor. We chose the set 4 course option and asked the sommelier if he could provide matched wines. This is not normally provided on a Saturday night but he kindly obliged and I have to say, his selections perfectly matched each course. It really helped enhance our overall experience. The food was outstanding as was the service of the all the staff. They were very professional and friendly, a combination often not often found in high end establishments. The presence of the live band also added to our enjoyment of the evening as we danced the night away. Overall a fantastic night out, what I would call a proper posh night out. Well done to the Ritz, you got it spot on!

The Goring Dining Room

St James's, City of London,Westminster
18/03/2017: Dined two days running, Same peculiar menu. Not really my choice. Desserts not enticing.. Delay between starter and main course.
18/03/2017: Another excellent lunch at The Goring for a special birthday with my wife. We didn't tell them to avoid any fuss but the service was faultless and friendly.Superbly cooked and presented food and some rather nice if pricey drinks. The Goring dining room is probably my favourite lunch venue in town. The bar is also a convivial haunt.Diners tend to be towards the mature end of the age spectrum and there are always a few minor celebrities as well as current or former politicians. Once witnessed Thatcher process into the room with an entourage and one guest even curtsied!!

Clos Maggiore

St James's, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
18/03/2017: Had to book some months in advance and go for a later dinner but definitely worth the wait. Food was delicious and the service was second to none. Sommelier and Maitre d in particular deserve a special mention. Their knowledge was superb but never once did we feel patronised. Recommended if you're after a special night out in a special location
18/03/2017: Dined here several times, can never fault the service nor the food and well don't get me started on the wine choice, everything has been well balanced to compliment each other. Always remember to book well in advance!

Le Gavroche

West End, City of London,Westminster
16/03/2017: Visited with friends and we had the 3 course business lunch. £66 including half a bottle of wine and water each. The food was exceptional and on a par with The Waterside Inn. The service was excellent. The meal included an amuse bouche and petits fours and coffee. I will be back here for another visit for sure even though the waiting list is long. If you can get to visit this restaurant I thoroughly recommend it.
15/03/2017: Very nice place.Excellent meal. The meet is superb and the dessert delicious. A place to came again and specially for your romantic encounter. Please make a reservation for me in next July.

19/03/2017: Superb food. Goes without saying, probably the best meal we have eaten. Lots of quite delicate flavours on the tasting menu, all of which were executed to perfection. The setting is lovely, the circular wine cellar is very impressive. It has a really nice feel to it, in no way stuffy and pretentious, just a nice relaxed environment to enjoy the wonderful food. All of the staff were fantastic. Very attentive but never got in the way. The female sommelier was very very helpful and knowledgable and recommended an incredible 2015 pouilly fume (we had the last bottle). The cheese selection was also very good in particular the cheese soaked in Chablis. The only slight fly in the ointment was the £28 for a glass of 2007 bollinger.... but hey, you only live once. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
18/03/2017: Having had such a wonderful experience here nearly 5 years ago for our wedding anniversary, we were a little apprehensive about returning, wary that restaurants evolve and that there are even more top-quality options available in London than ever before. Luckily we needn't have worried as again we had a lovely lunch at Petrus. The welcome was friendly and the staff attentive at all times. The Chef's Tasting menu with accompanying Classic wine pairing although expensive was simply divine from start to finish, apart from the asparagus, which even the Petrus chefs couldn't make me like ;-)The loin of fallow dear was excellent, beaten only by the Black Forest dessert - a truly mouth watering experience.I am so glad we decided to try Petrus again. I just hope it won't take so long for us to get a chance to return in future!

Pied a Terre

Bloomsbury, Camden
16/03/2017: I had a business lunch meeting. The atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. Private. The booth was comfortable and great to have a business meeting. The service was superb. Proper good advise. The food was tasty, delicate and unique. I would love to go back for pleasure next time Instead of business, but I must say that it made by business meeting a very pleasant one.
15/03/2017: We didnt want to eat late or spend the moby fot full dinner so we took advantage of the pre opera dinnerYou have to come at exactly 19:00 and you have about 2 hours but the price is much cheaper, 39£ wich is the best deal ever for a two stars resturant. The staff gave us great time and the food was perfect. If you are in London even if you don't go to the opera don't miss this ones in a life time deal.Well deserved two Michael stars GREAT!!!!

Made in South

Shaftesbury, Wandsworth
19/03/2017: Me and my friends visited this restaurant while touring London. Very easy to reach from the city centre. Inside the restaurant everything is decorated to a very high standard. And as for the food, well what can I say...I have never tasted a pizza like this tradition Neapolitan Pizza! This is not your standard dominos or Pizza Hut, it is made using the best ingredients and the dough is to die for, it literally melts in your mouth! The owners and staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome the minute we arrived. The prices are very reasonable too. If you are visiting the big city you should definitely give this place a visit
15/03/2017: We love this place! The most real Neapolitan Pizzeria in London! Everything is fresh from Italy I feel like Naples is here in London my family they get very excited wen we reserve table there ... good wine the desert is out of the world...... everyone check this place out !! You will love it to❤️

La Trompette

Turnham Green, Hounslow, 60-100£
19/03/2017: The menu was large The quality of the food was stunning ,the wine list was amazing the staff was attentives .The manager Tanggy is the star ,he has a lot of knowledge, smiling and good advice about wine ! I recommend scallops ,john Dory. And desert Yorkshire rhubarb .and porc .May be Petra could smile more for welcome !
17/03/2017: Another excellent experience at La Trompette. The squid to start was devine, delicate but wonderfully flavoured. My wife and I split the cote de beouf, which was perfectly cooked and had a wonderfully smoky flavour. And a classic tarte tatin to round it off. Just perfect!

Pizza Union

Aldgate,Billingsgate,Bishopsgate,Bridge,Broad Street,Candlewick,Cornhill,Langbourn,Lime Street,Portsoken,Tower, City of London,Westminster, <20£
18/03/2017: I´ve been a couple times to Pizza Union and it has turned into my favourite pizza place in London. The pizza is delicious, it´s fresh and very quick. Also it´s self service, and really cheap! You will not find another place like it. Even my parents loved it!Great value for your money and amazing food! A must visit in London!!!
16/03/2017: Order at the counter, grab a seat at one of the long benches and then watch your pizza be cooked for you in their huge stone pizza oven in super quick time. I like how informal this place is and you can spend as little or as long as you need. It would be great to grab a quick bite as it's such speedy service but equally my friend and I were here over an hour chatting and drinking our beers. The gelato is delicious too!

Chez Bruce

Nightingale, Wandsworth
19/03/2017: Went here with my girlfriend as a part of her birthday gift. We were not disappointed!First off we were offered a warm Parmesan biscuit, and we new that it would be a good night! It was very good!We were offered a salmon canapé for a small fee while waiting for our starters, this was also very good. Off to a good start! The staff was very attentive, and we got our starters very quickly. We had what can be described as high end pulled pork dish and a rainbow trout with fennel which were both gorgeous. The mains, duck, and cod were both packed with flavour, I had a glass of white wine which was perfect for the dish. The deserts were awesome, hot chocolate pudding and a cold rice pudding, both with ice creams of different kinds. Damn they were good. We got some complementary truffles with the bill!I would recommend Chez Bruce to anyone. We left with the feeling that we had gotten our money's worth plus a little extra. The staff and their sommelier were very good at their jobs. Thanks Chez Bruce!
19/03/2017: Our friends dine regularly here for special occasions and wanted to take us there as a Birthday lunch treat. What a dining experience it was. A great starter, main and dessert selection and we all enjoyed every course. Service was very attentive and polite. We hope to go back to experience the evening dinner menu.

The Andover Arms

Hammersmith Broadway, Hammersmith and Fulham, 20-30£
16/03/2017: We popped in to shelter from the rain and found this lovely welcoming WARM pub we was squeezed in as we hadn't booked for a really nice sunday lunch staff very helpful service was very quick the sticky toffee pudding was massive big enough to share but too nice to share though left very stuffed if we are in the area again would definitely go back again

West End, City of London,Westminster
18/03/2017: We've been staunch Goodman loyalists for years and came for a weekend lunch in March. Not sure who was behind the kitchen today but the sauces were not what they used to be. A bit bland and without any panache. I've given four stars for the quality and finish of beef. Best in London hands down! The desserts need an upgrade though and a bit more sex appeal...a Sundae needs a caramel or chocolate sauce over it, guys! Service is good. Still loyalists but good grief, fix the sauces!
17/03/2017: Range of cuts and age, from corn to grass fed this is a must for the steak expert! The range of sides are all spot on, highly recommend the mac and cheese, hand cut chips and green beans with shallots! The decor is New York Brasserie and the atmosphere is great. From couples to business lunches, this is one of the best!
