Pundits Fusion

Upton and Hanley, Malvern Hills, 30-45£
22/02/2017: After reading the reviews I thought I'd give Pundits fusion a go and I was not disappointed. The restaurant is very cosy and the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. As for the curry it was also excellent and they will tailor a dish to get the heat right for your taste. We were even brought a complementary naan bread which was a very nice gesture.
14/02/2017: My wife and I ate in the restaurant last Friday night and had a takeaway tonight for Valentine's Day. Both meals were superb. Cosy restaurant, great friendly staff, and most importantly, the food is amazing. Extremely popular with the locals and for very good reasons. Our favourite restauarant of any type by a country mile. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

L'amuse Bouche Restaurant

Priory, Malvern Hills
22/02/2017: This was my third visit since last October and brought my sister along as she was fed up hearing about how good it was and wanted to see for herself! She was not to be disappointed! As per my previous two visits the service and hosting was first class as was the food and drink. Relaxed atmosphere with attentive service without being overbearing which is one of the great features of this establishment. I was lucky enough to be able to pop my head into the office to thank Chris and Barbara for a lovely evening to find the usual bubbling pot of enthusiasm and passion for what they do. By the way this time I also got stuck into the large selection of different Gins from the bar post meal and was not disappointed on this front either.Looking forward to the next visit as is my sister. :-D
16/02/2017: I have lived in Malvern for over 7 years and have never been to this restaurant until Iast night. I was taken here by my partner for a birthday meal. It was fantastic. Great atmosphere, superb service, first-class food and wine. Loved being seated in the lounge and taken into eat when the table was ready. Little touches like your coat being taken from you are brilliant. The entree "amuse bouche" was delightful, the small home-made rolls with the most gorgeous butter were excellent. The outstanding feature are the staff - you could not ask for more polite and friendly people. I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough. From the big things to the little things, they have it all covered to a very high standard. We will be back for sure.

Ladywood, Birmingham, >100£
10/12/2016: I love Adams. I like eating, and fine dining. For me, Adams trumps similar establishments such as the Ledbury, Alimentum, Dinner (by a country mile), Manoir aux Quat Saisons, Midsummer House (close, though). As previously, the food varies from magnificent to the sublime-that wonderful moment in eating when the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The sommelier was wonderful and fun, and individually the waiters and waitresses were lovely. But at the end of each course on the taster menu there was a little bit of ceremony where two waiters stood by the empty plates and whisked them away, in tandem. But I don't want that kind of ceremony, and more, I don't want to feel rushed, as I did. If one is spending over a hundred pounds on a meal, it has to be luxurious, delice and not hurried. Still 5 stars mind, as food is wow.
17/08/2016: Another wonderful experience at Adam's. The little touches such as an anniversary card on the table when we arrived signed by Adam and the team. The food is exceptional, Adam's team are tentative and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Stunning restaurant.

Ladywood, Birmingham
24/02/2017: I have been here before and they have since refurbished this restaurant. It looks very modern and contemporary. I miss the artwork of famous Birmingham sights, like the painting they had of the old BT tower. But it is still a very nice restaurant. My sister and I came here to celebrate her starting a new job.We were greeted by the waiting staff and our coats (and my sister's many bags!) taken to the cloakroom. We were offered to go straight to our table or have a drink in the bar. We chose to have a glass of champagne in the bar, which was very nice.We decided to go for the full 8/9 course tasting menu. One of the options on the menu was venison. I cannot eat meat that isn't at the very least cooked to a decent medium and asked how it was cooked. The waiter explained it was served rare and the best they could do was medium. I was a little concerned and asked if there was an alternative. They said I could have the slow cooked lamb on the other menu instead and so I asked for this.We were seated at our table and brought (more or less) a whole loaf of bread to share between us with some butter! It was a mini loaf and it tasted delicious. The first course of "cheese and pineapple" was very good. This seems to be a constant feature on their menu but it was different to the way I have had it on previous visits, so it's nice to know that they reinvent it every so often. It was quite a sizeable portion for a first course! The whole menu was delicious. My least favourite was the cured sea trout. This is a personal thing. I'm not a huge fan of sushi/sashimi/cold cured fish. It was fresh and decent enough but not my thing. Everything else was great. The lamb was excellent (so glad I had that). The mango and passion fruit dessert was beautiful. The egg custard was served in a gorgeous egg. And the minty choc chip, again, is a constant feature on their menu but had, again, been revamped so it was different to what I'd had previously. Once more, delicious! We had a bottle of Sancerre and that was very nice (bit pricey at £57).The whole evening was lovely. Finished off by a nice cup of tea and some popping candy chocolate? toffee? at the end. The staff were very nice and friendly. They didn't harass you but were available if needed. Our table was booked for 20:45 and I think we left at about midnight. We were some of the last people there! It is a fine dining restaurant and ideal for special occasions. I really like this restaurant and I would definitely come again.
24/02/2017: Visited for lunch with a friend - only table available was for the brummie tapas which takes place on a high table in the lunge area as you enter the restaurant. So glad this was the case.......Absolutely perfect set up for this type of service and food style. Very relaxed and Informal with the chefs bringing out and describing the dishes.Happily shocked by the generous portions of certain dishes! All dishes were delivered with the precision you'd expect and the balance of flavours was impeccable.Purnells really strikes the balance between playful and creative dishes which are also accessible to a more 'fussy' diner.Old dishes have evolved and the story behind some of the classic dishes really does help highten the experience and invigorate the feeling of nostalgia.Great stuff

No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
21/02/2017: We were looking for somewhere to have lunch in Ross on Wye and found this lovely restaurant. It is stylish and welcoming and both food and wine were excellent. I had a perfectly cooked pan fried fillet of bream in a sublime lemon & white wine fondue (leaving my manners at the door I asked for a spoon as I couldn't bear to leave the sauce). My husband had the oyster mushroom, leek & mascarpone cannelloni which he said had great flavour with good 'meaty' mushrooms. The puddings were of equal quality; the blackcurrant, vanilla and cassis cheesecake and the creme brûlée. Very good espressos followed. Highly recommended.
16/02/2017: We chose this venue as we have been on other occasions and it has always been first class. This visit did not disappoint. Once again it was a really good meal, with good wine and very attentive staff. The food is beautifully presented and high quality. Be sure to book in advance, its well worth it!

Venture In

Ombersley, Wychavon
23/02/2017: I came here with my partner following recommendations and was not disappointed. I ordered black bream from the specials and we had three courses each and we were not disappointed. It is a cute little restaurant with a lovely ambience and excellent value for money. Give it a try!
16/02/2017: We finally managed to visit the Venture In at a lunchtime after recommendations from friends and looking at the reviews. The service was excellent, very efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. The building is an old black and white and true the bar area is small or cosy if you prefer. The dining area is lovely with white table cloths - the sort of 'traditional' that I like. The restaurant was nicely busy and the menu and specials were extensive, so much so I had difficulty remembering it all. I cannot fault the food, it was cooked beautifully - cod and pheasant dishes especially, but here it comes - the 'but'. There were too many different items on the plate - still can't remember them all - and it was all a little dated - more 1980s than today. It was much too fatty for me Fried items, cheese, sauces, etc all on one plate and so I felt very uncomfortable all afternoon. Maybe it is because I prefer more healthy eating where the flavours of the meat/fish/veg are not overwhelmed by accompanying items. There were a couple of items that had lower fat levels. I was so looking forward to visiting here so a little sad - the prices including drinks were not unreasonable for this type of restaurant even if it was not for me - a real shame. I would not go back unless I knew in advance there were some suitable dishes for my palate.

The Olive Tree

Cheadle West, Staffordshire Moorlands, <20£
22/02/2017: We have visited the New Olive Tree on several occasions, the food and service has always been top notch, our recent visit 15 February the valentines menu was still on offer, we really love the many and varied different Tapas dishes so it was a difficult decision to give the valentine menu a try, this was nothing like the tapas dishes on offer, but all the food was as expected excellent, we find the owners to be considerate and friendly with a smile, we have found in the past some of the dishes to be very spicy, not a problem for me, but we do now ask for them to be toned down a little, something the owners are always willing to do. I saw a previous poor review that mentioned the draft from the door which I imagine if you were sat near to it might be a problem, a suggestion would be to fit a solid screen between table and door, the rest of the criticism I find to be unrecognisable. The New Olive Tree is becoming one of our favourites, give it ago be sure to book.
20/02/2017: We went to The Olive Tree on New Years Eve 2016, and we had a fabulous meal. The atmosphere was great and the Owners and Staff were absolutely wonderfukl

The Opposition Bistro

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 45-60£
23/02/2017: We had a day out in Stratford and chose to have our lunch at The Opposition. It was a great choice and would not hesitate to eat there again. We both chose the pork fillet and slow roasted pork belly and it was very, very nice. Would have liked to have had the rice pudding and plum compote from the specials board as well but we were too full. Good wine and nice coffee. Service was excellent.
21/02/2017: I recently visited The Oppo as it is known locally and can definitely recommend it.There was a good choice on the menu and we all plumped for the set lunch menu which was very good value! The food was tasty and well presented and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very busy and people were being turned away who hadn't got reservations, so do ensure you book in advance, otherwise you might not get the opportunity to sample this atmospheric restaurant.

The Red Lion

Long Compton, Stratford-on-Avon
08/02/2017: Tuesday 31 January 17, My husband and I were on our way back home to Birmingham, so we decided to make a stop for dinner at ‘The Red Lion’ at Long Compton. Originally built as a coaching inn in 1748, the Grade II listed ‘Red Lion’ has seen many changes over the years, yet still retains the charm and character of a welcoming country pub. The bar at the ‘Red Lion’ oozes charm and character – the high backed settles, open inglenook fireplace and well kept ales are the perfect ingredients for a cosy relaxing drink. My husband and I arrived and we were found a table for two in the restaurant. The walls feature original paintings by Katherine Lightfoot. The dishes prepared use local and regional products. My husband had chicken liver pate served with a nice chutney, creamy butter and warm bread for his starter, which he said was delicious. I had the deep fried brie which was served with a lovely cranberry sauce and a small crisp salad, it was very tasty and a perfect start to a meal.My husband and I for our main course had cod and prawn fishcakes served with a tartare sauce, green beans and buttered new potatoes, which was really delicious. We washed all this lovely food down with two pints of ‘Hooky’ bitter for My husband and a large glass of white Zinfandel rose wine for me. We did not bother with any desserts as we were well fed and contented at this point. We both did not want to leave, as we were warm and cosy sitting by the open log fire, but we had to, as My husband had work the next day.If you want a nice friendly pub with good food and wine then this is the place to come.
05/02/2017: Had a great Sunday lunch, roast beef fab with amazing homemade Yorkshire pudding, salmon dish also very good. Warm welcome and well looked after by staff, your four legged best friend also made to feel very welcome. Can't recommend strongly enough, excellent value for money.

The Green Cafe

Ludlow North, Shropshire
24/02/2017: Thanks to trip advisor we visited The Green Cafe today for lunch, we did book before hand which was lucky as it was very busy. Food was excellent we had the goats curd and lentil salad (I'd wanted the chowder but it had run out and this was recommended to me instead by one of the staff), which had delicious beetroot in it as well and salt beef roll with the most delicious picalli. For afters we had pana cotta with blood orange granita which was to die for and the lemon cake wow! On the whole I wished we lived closer to be able to go more often.Amazing place oh and lovely friendly staff, great with our daughter to! Thank you.
17/02/2017: Last time we visited somewhere by the water called Green-something it was the "Green Love cafe" in sete Cidades in the Azores. Green lawn, clear water, persistent drizzle, and a cafe. Just like this little place. The difference is Green Love served moderate quality fried dishes with chips and Superbock whereas the Green Cafe serves some of the best flavoured food I've experienced in years. This place looks and feels like one of those park-side cafes that does toasted sandwiches and quiches yet it serves proper food that tastes of its ingredients. My brisket with piccalilli, my mother's beetroot salad, a pudding of pannacotta with orange, they were all just lovely. Not posh, just incredibly tasty. Even the small things: the coffee for once was good enough that I didn't regret buying it, the service was human yet ultra efficient, and the prices were down there with your toasted sandwich and quiche outlet.I'm going back there next time I'm in Ludlow; you should too.

The Tram Inn

Castle, Herefordshire, County of
24/02/2017: Family meal while visiting the area. Very friendly quick service and the food was excellent! Steak was great quality while my wife had the fish dish (trout). Desserts again great quality thank you and we will return soon !!
04/01/2017: This is the second visit to The Tram since moving to Wales and we'll keep visiting every time we go to Hereford. Best food around and my husband reckons it's the best burger outside of America

La Dolce Vita

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 30-45£
24/02/2017: This small welcoming family restaurant is the reason we keep coming back to Shrewsbury. The food is outstanding, authentically Italian, the chef combines ingredients and tastes magically. This time I enjoyed a starter of seared pigeon breast with a beautiful sauce, shared a a delicious mushroom tagliatelle with truffles and finished with an exquisite dish in which lobster tails were combined with beans and macadam nuts. We finished with coffees and were given a dish of homemade chocolate on the house. The wine list provided a range of good wines to choose from and the bill was modest. Another unforgetable meal, this restaurant, continues to deserve its top spot amongst restaurants in Shrewsbury and beyond.
23/02/2017: We ate here with friends who were visiting and had a wonderful evening. The food was imaginative and beautifully cooked and the service was excellent. Can't wait to come again.

Abbey, Nuneaton and Bedworth
23/02/2017: Came here for a friend's birthday. Great service and plentiful servings. I would definitely recommend Anthony's for those with dietary requirements. Two of my friends are vegan, and another dairy free. These needs were met without any problem. Well done Anthony's.
18/02/2017: Very good meal from start to finish certainly recommend, lovely choice of meals to choose from and well cooked and presented staff friendly and helpful

The Moody Cow

Old Gore, Herefordshire, County of, >100£
22/02/2017: Popped in with the family for a Sunday Lunch as visited many times previously and never disappointed. As per usual, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We find this pub pricey but so worth the money as everything is perfect. Our only small gripe is that some of the tables have very 'stylish' chairs that make sitting a tad uncomfortable after eating such a heavy and delicious meal. Will be back again very soon!
20/02/2017: First time here but definitely not the last Service and food are very highly rated. Looking forward to next time!

Tailors Restaurant

Warwick West, Warwick
24/02/2017: My second time here and it did not fail to deliver. All of the food was absolutely exquisite; delicious tastes and textures - amazing. The service was really friendly and on point. I recommend this pave to everyone (I'd choose to go to Tailors over a Michelin star anyday). I can't fault anything or give any points to improve - this place is perfection.Well done, boys.
18/02/2017: The five adults enjoyed an interesting, very well cooked and well presented tasting menu, with plenty of well matched wine. Our four year old had specially cooked fish and chips and really enjoyed the attention and care .Mark made us feel that we were his personal guests. Looking forward to a return visit.
