Square bistro

Hilden, Lisburn
11/03/2018: Lovely local restaurant - usually busy so best to book in advance if you can. Menu selection offers something for all tastes - and the staff are very accommodating if you want to tweek something. Good quality food served by helpful, attentive polite staff in nice surroundings - it's all good.
11/03/2018: Absolutely fabulous meal ! For Mother’s Day Food, Service and Decor all 5* I understood it was a allocated time slot for such a busy day but will definitely be back and spend longer!

Blue Bay Cafe

Dundrum, Down, <20£
23/03/2018: We just adore bluebay. Have never had a bad meal in here. Staff are so friendly, food is all fresh and home cooked, premises are spotless and the atmosphere is so welcoming. The sausages are the yummiest, the scones are to die for and the brownies are too good to resist. It's always very busy on Sunday mornings but worth having a seat outside and waiting if you want a table inside.
26/02/2018: It's hard to believe its been 2 years since my first (5*) review of the Blue Bay Cafe however we visited again yesterday and this charming small gem deserves all the praise it gets. After a bracing walk along lovely Murlough Bay, we called in and were fortunate to have the last available table on a busy Sunday lunchtime. The "all day breakfast" fry is a real treat - best quality ingredients, cooked to perfection (not a speck of grease in sight), accompanied by an excellent Americano (with top-up !) and all with friendly, efficient and courteous service. Small ?- maybe ! Unpretentious ? - definitely ! Perfectly formed ? - absolutely !! Can't recommend highly enough !

Central, Ards, <20£
27/02/2018: Popped in for breakfast and had the best of breakfasts. Very friendly staff who went above and beyond and the food was fantastic. Will defiantly be back for more.
18/02/2018: Been in here a couple of times and found in on every occasion a very nice, relaxed place to visit. Only nipped in for tea and a scone last time and on my own but was very pleasantly surprised to see very friendly staff interacting with customers from they entered, until they left. Great pot of tea, great big giant, homemade scone with all the trappings. Nice to see that when the boss was there she too was very keen to chat and interact with the customers and of course roll her own sleeves up to. A managerial must, leading staff by example will always earn respect of staff and customers, well done.

Vanilla Restaurant

Shimna, Down
27/03/2018: The smoked salmon and the pate starters were a sign of things to come - delicious flavour. My rib-eye was very good and my dining companion's monk fish was declared to be delicious. My onion rings were perfect too with a light crispybatter. Prosecco and red wine by the glass topped off the meal.
25/03/2018: Great food, we had a range of dishes and everyone enjoyed what they chose - excellent flavours. Very polite staff. The cloakroom/toilet was memorable in a positive way, visually/style - visit and see what I mean!

Colin's Hot Food

Rathgael, North Down
06/12/2017: Well Colin's has been about for at least 30 years and I remember it as a young girl. On returning to live in Bangor I was shocked to see it still open..... one fish supper and onion rings later, I know why!! Still absolutely fabulous for a good old "fish supper" with lots of salt and vinegar congratulations on staying consistent and great to be back
14/11/2017: Dropped in on way back home - prices are good and the food is well prepared and unlike others they do give you a good few chips along with the dish you have ordered.

The Cuan

Strangford, Down, <20£
27/03/2018: We were off work and decided to go for a spin in the car. We ended up in Portaferry and decided to get the ferry across to Strangford.
22/03/2018: If you are a fan of the TV show or book series Game of Thrones and want to enjoy a night of losing yourself in the fantasy, this is the place for you. You are given cloaks and a sword and then are seated in a banquet style setting and served food straight out of the pages of the novels from King Robert's visit to Winterfell. The staff will accommodate any fan's whim and make you feel completely comfortable. It was the complete opposite experience of the Red Wedding.

Pier 36

Donaghadee North, Ards
10/03/2018: I booked a table for four for mother's day weekend. We were cramped in beside other customers along the wall of the restaurant. A quiet lunch for four felt more like a group of 24. The other half of the restaurant had free seating and the groups could have been spread out more.
06/03/2018: We have visited pier 36. A few times. Good service good menu. And early. It’d great value. The food is good bar food good portions and served nice and hot. Staff are very nice and friendly.
