Bide A While - Country Tea Room

Tullyhappy, Newry and Mourne
13/03/2017: This is a hidden place off the road. It's quaint and homely. The main courses aren't big but it leaves room for a sweet. The service is a bit hap hazard - but after a wee while we got the order taken. They don't take credit cards.
02/03/2017: I'm Gluten Intolerant and also Vegetarian so eating out can be a total nightmare but Bide a While catered for both and I didn't feel like I was being a nuisance as some places do make you feel. Staff very friendly and knowledgable, loved the decor and homely feel and left with extra dessert to pop in freezer. Can't wait to return!Compared to prices in chain cafes our lunch was very affordable!

4 Vicars Restaurant

Callan Bridge, Armagh
18/02/2017: Called in for a light lunch and were made very welcome with friendly staff, the menu was excellent, five in our party and we had a great selection of food in perfect surroundings with a very good wine list most enjoyable lunch and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
16/02/2017: This review is long overdue. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. I loved the simple menu, brilliantly sourced and perfectly cooked. Our table had a lovely view of Armagh and the service was great. Congratulations on your Georgina Campbell award and there will be many more on the way! We will be back soon!!

The Old School House

Rostrevor, Newry and Mourne
17/03/2017: We really enjoyed our lunch here. Cute , old school house converted into a restaurant. Our food was really good at a reasonable price. Burgers, sandwiches and main entrees. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone. The service was excellent and very friendly. Many locals dine here. It can be busy at times so you may end up squeezing into a table, but it is worth it. FYI. ..They do serve German beer in the bottle, but no Guinness.
16/03/2017: Great food and wonderful atmosphere, staff very friendly and accommodating!! definitely will be back!!

Shelbourne Bakery and Restaurant

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
18/03/2017: Visited the Shelbourne mid-afternoon to purchase a birthday cake for my son. Was very cordially greeted by Mairè who, when my requirements were not on the shelf, assured me that my personalised birthday cake would be ready in 6mins. I was amazed by this claim but totally astonished when the desired cake arrived within 3mins of being ordered. Not only that but I also had the pleasure of meeting Tanya who made the cake.I have not been in the Shelbourne for along time but this brought me right back to what good old fashioned customer service is all about. No supermarket can compare with this standard of customer service. Ladies, thank you both very much for making a simple shopping trip into a very memorable experience!Trev.
17/03/2017: Regularly eat breakfast in here. Frys are very tasty and not greasy like some. Service excellent and very helpful. Would recommend a visit..

Diamonds Restaurant

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
19/03/2017: One of our party really enjoys this place so we decided to treat them. It's our second visit in a few weeks. This place isn't haute cuisine and it certainly doesn't claim to be, but let me share something, there's always a queue to get a seat to eat and the carry - out trade is pretty constant too. Now there's not too many diners that can boast that. It's one of those places that isn't quite a bistro but it's moderately priced, fairly good food with generous portions and an extensive menu so join the dots that's why it's usually crammed. From starters, via mains to desserts there's likely 100 food choices. The staff are a friendly lot and the service is honestly efficient if you want filet steak or cod and chips, a pizza or curry there's no fuss. I had a baked potato with prawns an unusual mix but I liked it. I imagine unlike the great British menu egos these chefs are too busy to sulk. If I had my way I'd go straight to Fusion, with its highly skilled adventurous chefs but hey ho, egotists, middle aged cooks with sporty cars and I can't have everything. We'll be back.
22/02/2017: Very nice food with decent portions. The staff are very friendly and happy to serve. Nice location as well a car park across the street

Sloan's Coffee Shop

Loughgall, Armagh
04/03/2017: Just resting from a busy morning looking through the excellent shops we found Sloane's and had a very nice break with a coffee and cake served by a very attentive staff member, well worth a visit. Yes they have a range of teas too.
27/11/2016: Amazing. That's what we all agree that we're with us on Saturday 26th Nov. We were looking for somewhere for a quick coffee after a run in the local park. Passed this place, turned and came back. Are we glad we did. Friendly staff, very clean and no rush even though we were arriving 30mins before closingNothing was too much. The coffee, scones and tray bakes were awesome. If your looking for a small coffee shop that's got a real family atmosphere, dedicated service with dedication to deliver them look no further. See you all again soon.

One Eighty

Annagh, Craigavon
03/03/2017: One eighty is a great spot for lunch or coffee. There is a friendly astmosphere and staff are always polite and professional. Lunches are very tasty and well presented. Traybakes and scones are freshly made. Would recommend.
20/02/2017: This Restaurant could teach a lot of restaurants a thing or to, the food is all hand made on the premises and is so delicious, The chips are hand cut and taste like the chips you would make at home, the menu has such a choice it's hard to know what to order, they also do a saver menu, for only £5.00 per person the service is outstanding, this restaurant runs a day time opportunities courses for young people with learning disabilities, and boy do they make you welcome, it has a lovely friendly atmosphere, I think every town in Northern Ireland should have a Restaurant like one eighty, you can get a cup of tea or coffee, and don't forget to try out their tray bakes, soooooo delicious, go on give it a. try, you won't be disappointed,

Art Bar Funkel

18/03/2017: Been here a couple of times over the last few months , usually on a Saturday for breakfast or lunch . Always got a lovely meal very reasonably priced . The place is always spotless , reasonable decor and a complete variety of clientele. The staff are efficient and quick . No complaints at all about this place , it's definitely one of my favourites.
08/03/2017: Very excited to sit down to six delicious courses, beautifully presented by friendly, knowledgeable staff and finish with a perfect coffee of choice. We've already booked the next one. Great night, very impressed. ⭐️ Bring your own wine⭐️

Sintons at the bridge

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
17/03/2017: My wife and I called in for lunch, without a booking, while driving past. We were made feel very welcome and looked after straight away, even though the restaurant was busy. The level of service was fantastic and all 3 courses of food delicious. The price for such a great experience was more than reasonable and we will be looking for excuses to drive past many more times. Simply superb!
13/03/2017: Visited Sinton's with friends for an evening meal, and unfortunately it wasn't what we expected at all. On entering, the six of us were left to stand for a while before a rather disgruntled man came to show us to our table. Drinks and food orders taken all seemed fine. Drinks arrived and we had to ask for glasses with ice and lemon for our sparking water. Starters were fine, no complaints. Main courses arrived and looked appetising but the fish was dreadful. It was grey in colour and had a soft, soggy texture. This was brought to the attention of a lady, who we believe to be the manager/owner. Her attitude and general approach was far from becoming. No apology offered, just kept insisting it was fresh. However, on receipt of the bill the cost of the fish meal had been removed. At no point was this brought to our attention. All we wanted was proper food, not free food! The manager/owner is not capable of taking constructive criticism, and most definitely needs a crash course on Customer Care. She needs to consider six people came away with a negative view of Sintons.

The Harbour Inn

Annalong, Newry and Mourne
13/03/2017: Monday lunchtime, very little open in Newcastle so we tried The Harbour Inn, Annalong. very good customer service, good coffee, the fish special was Brill, and it was brill, reasonably priced and well cooked. The gentleman who served us was first class and went out of his way to provide us with a doggy bag and some lovely homemade biscuits to take home.Looking forward to a return visit, well done all!
13/03/2017: On our second visit to Samona b&b we called in for lunch and a well pulled pint of Guinness.Such welcoming and lovely staff who have a great knowledge of lical produce.Delicous food in very comfortable surroundings.Next time definately going to have dinner here.

The Posthouse Cafe

Waringstown, Craigavon
01/03/2017: Living in the village we called in for lunch. As always only a few tables were occupied. An old friend was in so we sat beside her. Food ordered off the special board. I ordered Chicken stack with champ. Did not expect to get three gougons would have expected grilled chicken etc. The food was well cooked and tasty. Wife had bacon, cabbage and spuds she does not get cabbage often cause I don't like it. Of the two cafe venues in the village this would be my first choice. It was slightly more expensive than I expected.
08/11/2016: Mmmmmmm. we have drove past this wee gem a few times without calling in but today we where on our way to Craigavon and finally stopped, boy are we glad we did. we were met by a lovely spoken young women very pleasant indeed, we ordered our lunch (Steak Casserole with cabbage and mashed potatoes /Sausages with onion and potatoes) we chatted among ourselves and in no time at all our food arrived piping hot and so tasty the steak casserole was amazing. the others enjoyed the sausages with mashed potatoes, followed by homemade apple tart and vanilla cheesecake teas and cappuccinos. The food is gorgeous and tasty and fresh, the service was second to none, nothing seemed to much hassle for them. This wee Gem is spotless and very well run we all left full and very happy, most certainly will be returning asap. Highly recommenced go see for your-selves (oh near forgot the sausages were amazing and made right next door. so nice we bought quite a bit of them. )

Tam O' Shanter

Kilkeel Central, Newry and Mourne
05/03/2017: Called in to the Tam O'Shanter for my first visit on Saturday with a friend. Had the teriyaki beef for lunch and it was the best! Menu looks great but the specials could not be passed up today! Friend agreed and is raving about it - he will be back too. Great service, very friendly, welcoming atmosphere and really great food. Not much more anyone could ask for. Was so good I ordered the Sunday carvery for today. It was brilliant. Really well cooked, hot, full of flavour, excellent quality meat, very tasty from start to finish. Sit in and carry out options are great - the take out was brilliant! Am going to make this a regular order for my Sunday lunch. Highly recommended and I will be telling everyone. Thanks To Fiona.
11/02/2017: Real good food, friendly staff, I had the seafood chowder for main meal would highly recommend, good choice on menu

Timoneys Ice Cream

Ballybot, Newry and Mourne
29/01/2017: The ice cream is amazing and homemade! Lots of different toppings to choose from and the whole shop is very cute and very vintage looking. Apparently the milkshakes are amazing as well.
05/01/2017: Ice cream milk shakes and old style treats. Started going to timoneys when I was a little girl and it's still not changed! Great ice cream and a large selection of sweets that you pay by weight. I remember in my school girl days asking for mixed Bon bons to the value of 20p and they would do it for you.
