Bide A While - Country Tea Room

Tullyhappy, Newry and Mourne
16/12/2016: We enjoyed a beautiful home cooked Christmas dinner. The standard of preparation, cooking and presentation was excellent.
01/12/2016: Another beautiful lunch, all genuinely home made beautiful food. The salads, soup etc are really nice, and relatively healthy which makes the awesome cakes feel less guilty. Amazing gluten free selection as well. A wonderful tea room with (sorry mum) the best shortbread I've ever tasted!!It's worth a detour to find it.

The Galley Cafe

Annalong, Newry and Mourne
18/01/2017: From what I recall, easily the best place we ate at in Northern Ireland. The fish and chips - WOW! Some do fish and chips. THis place does INCREDIBLY GREAT fish and and chips
17/01/2017: My memories of the Galley were a good chippy to stop in at on the way home. But now, with their new restaurant, it's a favourite for all occasions! Their food is always delicious, the portions are extremely generous and the atmosphere is lovely. Very friendly staff. Thank you!

08/11/2016: Mmmmmmm. we have drove past this wee gem a few times without calling in but today we where on our way to Craigavon and finally stopped, boy are we glad we did. we were met by a lovely spoken young women very pleasant indeed, we ordered our lunch (Steak Casserole with cabbage and mashed potatoes /Sausages with onion and potatoes) we chatted among ourselves and in no time at all our food arrived piping hot and so tasty the steak casserole was amazing. the others enjoyed the sausages with mashed potatoes, followed by homemade apple tart and vanilla cheesecake teas and cappuccinos. The food is gorgeous and tasty and fresh, the service was second to none, nothing seemed to much hassle for them. Diamonds Restaurant

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
08/01/2017: After a few days away, we wanted something nice for dinner but not fast food. There is always a queue on a Sunday for The Diamonds both in the restaurant and take away.We opted for take away Sunday Roast dinners. We both got beef although there was turkey and ham also. You can also order from quite an extensive menu. The dinner included lovely roast beef, 3 scoops mash, 2 vegetables, roast potatoes, stuffing and gravy all for £7.00 each. A smaller dinner is £6.00.I also love tubs of homemade soup. Small tubs are £1.00 and a large tub for £3.00.The food is homemade and well worth it. The queues speak for themselves. When we went in we were queued outside and within ten minutes served by Lorraine who is always very friendly.
08/01/2017: Two of my friends and I visited Diamonds yesterday afternoon. We ordered food which should have been simple, two Cajun chicken panini's with chips and a breakfast. When the 'paninis' arrived they where served in warm soggy baguettes with dry chicken pieces and cold sauce (nothing else on plate). The chips where very undercooked and fell apart when using a fork. We also ordered diet cokes which where clearly poured out of a bottle. When we got to the till we where then horrified to be charged £10.35 each. (1 'panini' £6.45 which didn't include the chips. ) When we questioned the price the staff where rude and we where told we should have had more fillings and that was just the price of it. Will definitely not be back!!

Zio Restaurant

Annagh, Craigavon
04/01/2017: Went for lunch just after Christmas, As usual the food was good, prices as you would expect in your average italian. On this occasion the service was pretty slow however, but they were very busy.
29/12/2016: Visited here with my family last month and have to say it was great! the kids got spaghetti bolognese and said it was the best they have ever had! the service was prompt with drinks being serviced quickly and refilled! I had steak and it was cooked to perfection with the vegetables cooked to perfection! The waitress who served us was pleasant and helpful, she took an interest in the kids which always helps when they feel special! Well done great job to all!

Kitchen

Woodville, Craigavon
15/01/2017: Every time I'm here the standards are always excellent! I visit at least once a week either for breakfast or lunch with various friends. We have been to a few of the gourmet nights which are the first Saturday of the month. Never a let down and well worth the £29.99 price tag. The team that works in kitchen are so friendly and always make sure everything is OK. There's no where else locally that I have found matches up to this place! Love it. The food is amazing and if you are ever stuck for anything to order try the chicken schnitzel or chicken Caesar salad! Also the specials every day are great!
09/01/2017: Its been over six months since we were at Kitchen's tasting evening and when we had a surprise visit from Obi One Kenobi, it was the natural choice - Obi One is from Laois and when we visit her we go to to Castle Durrow, which is truly something else.Well she also agreed that Kitchen was something else! Duck with mint salad, sea bass, pea veloute, roast venison with blackcurrant jus, chocolate orange brownie in a white chocolate soup, this was one of the best meals we have had in the last 12 months and at 29.95 a pop, incredible value for money. Great service, lively atmosphere, the only gripe is the restricted opening hours. Well worth a visit.

Sintons at the bridge

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
07/01/2017: I had the pleasure of visiting with my family over the Christmas holidays. We made ourselves comfortable by the bar as we waited for a table, as the place was looking pretty busy. Despite this, however, the staff were attentive and addressed our requests promptly. We didn't wait long to be seated. It's lovely to see a restaurant catering so well to different diets, including a full vegetarian menu with a decently varied selection. I settled on the noodles, and the service was prompt, especially considering how busy it was at the time of the visit! The food was enjoyed by all and the atmosphere pleasant. The restaurant was very well kempt, and appropriately festive given the time of year, and alongside the excellent service and stellar food, my family and I had a wondeful dinner. When next I find myself in Scarva, I'll be certain to visit again.
07/01/2017: I celebrated my 50th birthday with all my family 14 people in all. What an incredible evening! The staff were outstanding and dealt with all our different choices & late changes. The food was perfect and the evening was a complete success. Our family had travelled from Belfast, Bangor & Dublin. Julianne & Graeme our compliments and thanks to you both and your team. We love Sintons at the Bridge!

Art Bar Funkel

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
19/01/2017: food just o k, room too small, very noisy, and tables too close together. Would not recommend the food either. Will not be back.
19/01/2017: Today I went for food with a family member and enjoyed the meal very much. The only issue was that we felt uncomfortable that we could overhear waitress staff swearing from the doorway of the kitchen. I don't think it made for a good atmosphere or was a good reflection on the business. There were families with children also in the restraunt at the time so I found this use of language very unsuitable during lunchtime service. Having worked in catering myself and in customer service, this is not what I would expect from such a highly thought of establishment. Would hesitate to return.

One Eighty

Annagh, Craigavon
03/01/2017: Reminder: Cash only; be prepared or you could be embarrassed. The restaurant provides work and training for teenagers with learning difficulties. An excellent idea and worth supporting.Cheesecakes etc can be pre-ordered to take away (to "die for"). We always have one for our "extended family" Christmas - and for many other special occasions. My eldest grandson loves them.We usually go for breakfast or brunch. Tasty, right amount and service casual, but good.Might be slightly slower than some restaurants but "health & safety" is strictly adhered to - as it is a training "establishment ". Serving staff very personable, kind and attentive.Good for lunch also. Family oriented.Hygiene good and tables cleared promptly.Definitely worth supporting. Profit less important than their provision of a "public" service.
23/11/2016: I went to One Eighty yesterday for the first time. Wow what a fantastic place, food 1st class, served by friendly, courteous young people. Would highly recommend. I'll be back next time I am in Portadown. Very well done everyone.
