Browns

Ebrington, Derry
18/01/2017: This was our 2nd visit to Browns as after our first visit we decided we must save and savour our visits to special occasions. We were not to be disappointed. From the first greeting to the end the service was fantastic with special mention of Amy, but it would be unfair not to advise that all we met were very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all questions concerning the dishes and wines we had.( although questions were hardly necessary as each dish was described in detail as it arrived). The proprietor Ian Orr visited our table and was very modest advising that the fine food was down to the head chef Phelan and the fine wines down to his excellent sommelier. We went with the thought of ordering from the a la carte menu but having looked at the menu we noticed a taster menu which had 8 courses with 6 different wines. There were a number of dishes and combinations we had not seen or tried before, we were immediately hooked. It was excellent there was not one dish we did not like and nothing returned on our plates to the kitchen. Caution if ordering the menu, please ensure, if you are trying the dishes with wine, do not drive!!My partner felt she was in heaven and the whole experience made her weekend, nothing can be faulted, with food, wine, service and ambience excellent. If you want to impress your favourite person or people you should look no further. My only complaint now is that having dined at Browns has potentially spoiled any future experiences at other fine dining restaurants which will find it hard to compete and I am not just talking about Derry or Northern Ireland.!!
13/01/2017: Went yesterday for the 2nd time to this restaurant. Had the taster menu: 7 courses: vegetarian menu available. I have to say it was amazing :really tasty food, an excellent experience. Service was friendly and very professional. Can't wait to be back

Market Yard

Roeside, Limavady, 20-30£
07/01/2017: We had family visiting for an early Christmas celebration and we booked the Market Yard. The place was like walking into a Christmas wonderland, the decorations were fabulous. The place as you can imagine was very busy but we got a lovely big table, the waiting staff were great they looked after our every need. The food was fabulous and Anthony looked after everyone like they were family. Would recommend the Market Yard for any occasion you just can't go wrong.
04/01/2017: We were there on New Year's Day for lunch place itself is lovely but not so the food I had buffalo wings which were tough and quite pink inside no really nice sauce.Main course was carvery the meat was really good and portion generous the vegetables were tasteless and of all the places to eat potatoes you would think the roast ones in Ireland would be crisp and fluffy but no they were deep fried and hard inside.Your selection of veg and potatoes were heaped up on top of each other very off putting pepper gravy was greasy and not very nice.Would not recommend or return

The TapHouse Enniskillen

Castlecoole, Fermanagh
17/01/2017: Had a voucher as a Xmas present so went for tea. As usual the staff are very attentive with drinks arriving quickly. I had the tiger prawns to start and rib eye for main, the steak was cooked perfectly, so well I couldn't put the pepper sauce on it as it just didn't seem right, I kepted it for my fries. Dessert was white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake with ice cream. This is a must place to go if in Enniskillen but if it's the weekend you would be advised to book.
17/01/2017: Went here for a meal one afternoon, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was good. I only went for Turkey and Ham and didn't try the starters or desserts. The meal was fine and the price was just about what you'd expect in Enniskillen. Well worth a visit if you're about that end of town

The Point Bar and Restaurant

Magilligan, Limavady
17/01/2017: Pub/restaurant on the tip of Mggiligan Point, where the Foyle Estuary meets the Atlantic Ocean. Pub started a a Customs House for the rowing boat ferry between Co. Donegal in Republic of Ireland and Co. Derry in Northern /Ireland - customs duties are no longer collected. Ferry was replaced with a Car Ferry between the two countries - unfortunately this is like to cease operation due to lack of funding. The food and service in the Point Bar is good and is a popular venue for both tourists and locals. There is a Martello Tower nearby which is open and accessible at various time throughout the year.
07/01/2017: Got to visit the Point Bar shortly after Christmas and it was fabulous, the food is delicious and the staff are first class. We go here as often as we can and I love their food and the ambience.

Tullana on the Green

Lisnarrick, Fermanagh
27/12/2016: A group of us + 2 children booked for lunch on 24 December 2016 on the internet - they got back to us very quickly to say our table was reserved. Staff were very friendly, service was good, food was excellent and plenty of sides supplied. Children had pictures to colour in and the staff made them feel special. Good value for money and we will return to this special restaurant. Thank you for an enjoyable meal.
06/11/2016: We came across this restaurant when staying in Fermanagh and I highly reccommend it to anyone staying in the area. From the moment we arrived we were looked after very well. The restaurant is decorated very tastefully and is spacious and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. The menu is varied, with choices of chicken, steaks, pork, fish, vegetarian and so much more. The food is excellent quality. We ate here two nights and on both occasions the food was really tasty, with good portions, well presented and piping hot. The restaurant also had a good variety of starters and desserts along with many flavoured coffees and cocktails.I would highly reccommend this restaurant.

Dollakis

Portora, Fermanagh, <20£
17/01/2017: The restaurant has become very popular, those were the days when you could walk in without booking at lunch time, showing how busy it is. The food is varied with Greek influence and usually has special of the day, it is cooked to order and very tasty. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Wine is available. I would recommend booking so not to be disappointed.

9th Avenue Pizzeria

Fintona, Omagh
23/08/2016: We go here for takeaway. The kids love it. Freshly made pizzas are great. Well cooked, great flavour and good value for money. Meal deals are good if you are just grabbing a bite yourself. Totally recommended

The Sooty Olive Restaurant

Victoria, Derry, 20-30£
18/01/2017: We visit this Resturant several times , always found it a friendly place to visit . A bit slow to serve your drinks .,My friend ordered a Fillet steak , when steak arrived to our table, very disappointed as it was a tail of fillet, and over cooked , which his steak was presented to our table all turned up and over cooked we did send the steak back , to be served with another end piece of fillet . To finish us off 3 steaks were presented to the table next to us , presented beautiful a round piece of fillet , mouth watering, which even disappointed my friend even more . The Mangeress was very nice and apologised , took the price of the steak off the bill . , but it really spoiled our evening , on saying all of that I will return to this Resturant to give them another chance .
17/01/2017: One of our favourite restaurants in Derry!! We've visited it on several occations and we haven't been dissapointed! Very friendly service and a great atmosphere! Food is great! Tasty and impecable quality-wise!

19/01/2017: This is a super micro brewery / restaurant, well worth a visit. We came for an evening meal and found it to be a very positive experience from walking in the door to leaving.Great environment, very friendly and helpful staff ( thanks Laura, really friendly and warm), great food and great local beer / ales (they also serve the whole range of wines, cocktails, soft drinks).Quality of our meal was very good and was definitely value for money
18/01/2017: Visited here for the first time in November, even though it is a local restaurant had never got round to trying it out. Could not miss all the positive reviews on tripadvisor so thought I would give it a go. Visited with friends for evening meal, booked last minute but staff were very accommodating. Lovely, friendly greeting from staff made to feel really welcome. Food was great, fantastic range of craft beers & locally named cocktails. Great atmosphere created by staff who are really proud of the venue. Nothing too much trouble for them, even called our taxi & told us when it arrived at the door. Will definitely be back, recommend you try it.

Cafe Merlot

Portora, Fermanagh
18/01/2017: Pre-theatre menu very good. Packed with lots of flavours. Presentation of anti-pasti platter excellent. Fish is usually properly cooked with crispy skin. Pity seating is so uncomfortable!!
05/01/2017: Been here a few times - have always enjoyed the pre dinner drinks in Blakes of The Hollow and wandering downstairs for dinner - great craic in the old distinguished bar .Cafe Merlot can be VERY good or sometimes a little disappointing. Maybe they work too hard and should reflect now and again .Needs a little bit of a tidy up and re org of seating snd welcome area as some poorly located seating but overall an establishment worth supporting and 10 out of 10 for effort . Brilliant wine selection and usually lovely paintings on display / sale by local artists - really a beautiful location worth visiting .
