Mid Formartine, Aberdeenshire
19/03/2017: Atmosphere very good. From the outside this restuarant looks very welcoming. Staff very courteous and professional. Food amazing .
18/03/2017: Was here today for a surprise 50th Birthday lunch. A table of 13 ladies. Our experience here was absolutely excellent from the moment we arrived until we left.We were taken to the champagne room to start with until the lady who was celebrating her 50th birthday arrived. The waiter came and took our drink order and returned with our drinks very quickly. Once the birthday lady arrived and everyone had a drink The Kilted Chef himself came too the champagne room and had a chat with us all which I thought was really very nice.We were then taken too the dining room to our table. Once everyone was seated and comfortable the waitress came for our orders. Once the orders were in we didn't have long to wait for our meal. We were all very pleased with our choices of dishes and the presentation was really lovely. The Kilted Chef came to our table and said that the bar man had tried a new cocktail today and would the birthday girl like to try it. Well it was absolutely divine made with Gin, Passion fruit, and I cannot remember the other 2 ingredients, our table ended up ordering 6 of these cocktails and we were not at all disappointed. We all throughly enjoyed these cocktails and they all went down a treat. The table service was also 1st class. A lady in our party was celiac and the Kilted Chef and his staff just could not do enough to provide for the lady. A big thank you to The Kilted Chef and all the staff at Eat on the Green for a 1st class meal and service.

Cafe Boheme

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
18/03/2017: Café boheme hosted the slow food society meal last year before Christmas. Absolutely fantastic. Great food from local producers, plus the hospitality was great. The management created a wonderful atmosphere . Strongly recommended
14/03/2017: Dominique has been serving authentic French cuisine in Aberdeen for many years and maintains a high standard of food and service.Centrally located just off Union Street.

Tolbooth Restaurant

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire, 45-60£
19/03/2017: So what about the Tolbooth? This is another restaurant I've been trying to get to for many years and the long wait was definitely worth while. Located at Stonehaven's harbour which incidentally is a cracking location in the summer if you are looking for somewhere to hang out for a glass of vino or beer. We took the train out from Aberdeen which is reasonably priced for return tickets. A quick stop off at the Station Hotel on arrival for some drinks before luckily getting a lift down the hill. You could take a taxi or walk it in 15 mins or so. We arrived around 7pm to a warm friendly welcome from the staff and were seated at the back. There is about 40 covers, the theme is obviously that of the sea but it's subtle. There is plenty of room so you are not bumping into folks at other tables. Service got of to a slow start but was very good once they warmed up. What about the food then. We had what was the days specials. Seared scallops with black pudding which was very good. Scallops were cooked perfectly. I had monkfish rapped in Parma ham for my main which was good but the star of the show for me were the sweets. Pecan tartlet, the sorbet, ice cream wow these were top drawer. They have a good selection of wines and the food I think is good value at £39 for 3 courses. keep it up.
19/03/2017: Very tasty and fresh food. The fish was well prepared and the desserts are amazing! Good view over the harbour.

The Lochnagar Indian Brasserie

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire, 20-30£
17/03/2017: We have been here a few times and they are alaways fantastic. Brill vegan options and we even got a complimentary drink! Will always return on our annual trip to Scotland. :)
15/03/2017: Four of us had a delightful evening meal here. The service, food, ambience and decor were all first rate, and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Madame Mew's

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City, <20£
19/03/2017: Very popular lunch spot! No tables free when we arrived at 1. One hour earlier, the place was empty, so come early. We waited a bit and finally got a table. It took quite a while for our mains to arrive but thankfully we had ordered spring rolls and that was only 10 min wait. The portions were very generous for the price (6,50) and the food was tasty! Especially the red curry! The tables are very close together, so not much privacy whilst enjoying your meal in this place. Staff was friendly.
18/03/2017: Stumbled across this place in Aberdeen Market (Market Street). It certainly couldn't be described as a pretentious restaurant. It's very basic in appearance but the fact that it is very busy tells you it's own story. The food is superb and the dishes we had were both £6.40 for excellent size portions and as agood as any Thai food I've tasted. I know where I'll be going in future if in Aberdeen!

Birdhouse Cafe

Banchory and Mid Deeside, Aberdeenshire
16/03/2017: Food was 50 mins late. Most of it was cold. On other hand pizza was good
15/03/2017: Dropped in for a coffee to take away on my way out walking and if I ever open a coffee shop, this is how I'd do it! So lovely inside, friendly, rustic and individual... plus the coffee was lovely! I think it was the owner I was talking to in there and she was very genuine, friendly and easy to chat to. Lovely tea room, with local produce and crafts for sale too. Good things certainly do come in small packages!

10/03/2017: Having grown up in the East Midlands with high quality Indian food, and my wife from West Yorkshire with high quality Pakistani/Bangladeshi food, we both agreed this was probably the best Indian meal we had ever had.Beautifully balanced spices and good quality local produce meant a meal that was tasty and different.I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. Not cheap, but worth every penny.Delightful

Moon Fish Cafe

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City, >100£
14/03/2017: Food was very nice, but prices are super high, maybe they should invest a bit more in the chairs and tables to make it look more fancy.
06/03/2017: My partner & I have been to moon fish a few times & every time it is faultless! The staff are always really knowledgeable, attentive & friendly & the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. The food is up there with the best I have ever tried! Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
17/03/2017: I really liked my food but did not manage to get to dessert because of the portions, but definitely reasonable prices for what you get. I will be back for that dessert. Service was good too, but not exceptional.
13/03/2017: This is an excellent restaurant. The food is very good , and the staff are always very pleasant. We visit this regularly and would not hesitate to recommend it.

The Bay Fish & Chips

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire
18/03/2017: popped in for a fish supper takeaway. I was quickly served although reasonable busy and my order was freshly cooked, staff were friendly & courteous a credit to the establishment and the fish supper was top drawer. There was also a good variety of items which could be purchased, highly recommended if you are in the area
18/03/2017: This take away fish and chip shop is rather special. It is run like a top end restaurant! The fish is locally sourced and the name of the fishing vessel it comes from is on the board. The fish is from sustainable managed stock. The staff approach is excellent and efficient. The result was first class fish and chips ... with tartare sauce of course ... to take out that were amazing!! Very enjoyable and Calum deserves to do well.

The Bothy

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire
11/03/2017: The Bothy was recommended by our coach driver on an excursion and we were glad we took his advice!Big bowl of hearty homemade soup with a very well-filled sandwich. No leaving hungry here! Very nice, pleasant staff and a comfortable airy room. An ideal stop for lunch.
10/03/2017: Popped in here to try a bottle of the local Cairngorm Brewery ale and log on to the free WiFi to check my emails etc.I sat outside to admire the lovely setting and it wasn't long before I gave in to the delicious smell of home made food coming from the kitchen.I had the soup swiftly followed by a piece of home made cake.Delicious food in a cosy and warm environment, lovely views of the river and charming and friendly staff.Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Monsoona Healthy Indian Cuisine

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
19/03/2017: Was staying in local hotel and decided to go out to eat and as my wife on diet it had to be reasonably healthy and Monsoona hits that spots. On entering the restaurant were met by a friendly member of staff who sat us down with ease , asks us about drinks and hands us the menu, went for the set menu for 2 good value for money and as our drinks come back with poppadoms and dips great tasty and fresh. Our starter came quickly after poppadoms beautiful chicken pakora with more dips one very spicy though , plates cleared and yet again main course arrived very quickly smelling lovely mine being a lamb rogan josh and nicely spiced and lamb very tender , my wife was a recommendation from waiter some chicken but she said it was beautiful i agree as i tasted it the sides were good too the bombay potatoes were unbelievable!!! Had another drink in middle of main course, after main were both full but the service did not stop there were offered a free drink i had malt whisky and my wife a baileys both come as doubles nice touch . Would recommend this restaurant to any one who likes curry and great service Thanks to all the staff on that night for the perfect meal out
17/03/2017: I visited today for the second time with my sister, the food was absolutely fantastic! The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive and I would not hesitate to recommend that everyone who loves great Indian food comes to Monsoona when they are in Aberdeen.

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 60-100£
15/03/2017: We picked up an Itison deal for a two course meal here - and will happily return. The food was delicious and service discreet but at a good level. It's a small, comfortable restaurant worth finding in the back streets off Union Street.
11/03/2017: Fantastic food at incredible prices. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. We dine out a lot in many cities - this is a gem.

Shahi Darbar

Inverurie and District, Aberdeenshire, >100£
06/03/2017: I have eaten here quite a few times since it opened, both as a sit-in diner and also for take-aways.The choice and quality of food is superb - some of the best Indian food I have eaten. Great service as well when dining in.This is fine dining - Michelin star type food, and not your usual large bowl of curry with rice and naan. The scallops (when available) as a starter are excellent.
22/02/2017: If you are around Inverurie looking for a place in which to have a dinner, this is the place to go. The food is excellent and the crew is nice and very kind. One on the waitress is also able to speak some Italian, so I won't feel so lonely and alone....I am sure you will enjoy Shahi Dabar in Inverurie
