19/01/2017: Fantastic service, food was plentiful, cheap and fantastic....going again next week with friends. Gem of a place hidden in the indoor market ..
17/01/2017: Lovely Thai food served in a casual Thai cafe inside Aberdeen Market, great prices and huge portions, with friendly service.

Shahi Darbar

Inverurie and District, Aberdeenshire, >100£
17/01/2017: This is by far the best Indian restaurant in the area, I'd even say in Aberdeen. The food is fantastic. I love the presentation of the starters. We have eaten here on a number of occasions trying different meals, none of which have disappointed - consistently good food, served in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
17/01/2017: The restaurant itself is calm, cosy and welcoming. The staff are very attentive but not intrusive. Then there is the food. Oh my word, exquisite! Such flavours.I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you.

Tolbooth Restaurant

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire, 45-60£
08/01/2017: Worst restaurant I've ever been too. Food was terrible and all the staff acted like they were all entitled. Worst customer service I've received in a long time. Nothing would induce us to darken their door ever again.
02/01/2017: This restaurant is ideal for that special night out. Good food with a mainly fresh seafood menu. The service was very good and the waiters were food and wine knowledgeable. The setting is "cosy" and there are lovely views over the harbour. With wine, coffee etc. expect to pay approx. £60 per head, but worth it.

Cafe Boheme

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
28/12/2016: The food was delicious and fresh. I had muscles followed by steak the customer service was friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. Very friendly staff who were nice and attentive. An additional bonus is that the stock beer from my favourite brewery 6 degrees north. Extremely enjoyed my visit and a great change from the usual brands available in Aberdeen.
17/12/2016: Had a lovely meal here with my wife, the service was good and there was an excellent wine list. The food was absolutely delicious I had the fish of the day which was very good and my wife was of the same impression with regards her courses. It was a special occasion for us so the cost was not important, but the prices where reasonable if you discount the expensive wine I picked.

The Lochnagar Indian Brasserie

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire, 20-30£
14/01/2017: The food was amazing - really good Biryani and chicken tikka masala. We had one dish that was chicken stuffed with lamb and it was good but probably wouldn't order it again. The service was really good.
13/01/2017: We've eaten here before and it was excellent. This time we had a Take Away and it was every bit as good as in the restaurant.

Jewel in the Crown

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, <20£
19/01/2017: Another superb curry here just after the new year. Asked for a lamb chicken and king prawn curry that wasn't on the menu no problem to the chef's at jewel in the crown and it was superb. Place never fails to live up to expections best curry house in Aberdeen by a country mile. Can't wait to return. 10/10
12/01/2017: Food absolutely excellent and varied and service could not be more pleasant. Went during a quiet afternoon time where it felt as if you were at home - without having to do the cooking.

Nooks and Crannies

Fraserburgh and District, Aberdeenshire
31/12/2016: Arranged for my wife and our friends to go for afternoon tea.   Lynne had the table beautifully set, with a lace table cloth and pretty china cups and saucers and Happy Birthday bunting. Three plates arrived with a selection of dainty sandwiches, quiche and vol-au-vents, to be followed by cake stands with bite sized scones, tiffin, cup cakes and meringues, accompanied by as much tea as we could drink and the usual high standard of service.   Would highly recommend for a special occasion or treat.
29/12/2016: Have been a few times (every time we in area) and it never disappoints- my husband had the quiche which he thoroughly enjoyed and I went for the cheese plate again. Food excellent - staff extremely friendly and attentive - first rate coffee. Will return - if you in area don't miss out on this little gem x

The Bothy

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire
09/01/2017: Have visited often for coffee, lunch etc. Breakfast at weekend met usual high standard. Scrambled eggs amongst best I've had - Colin couldn't do better himself ;)
15/12/2016: Often drop into The Bothy after walking in or around Braemar. Food is good as are the prices. Often it is just soup & a roll, coffee & cake or sometimes both. Last time however before we set off for home we had the Special of the Day. It was an excellent Lentil & Ginger Dahl dish with Nan and Salad sides. Kept us going throughout 3 hour drive home. Always worth dropping in here and if only for coffee & cakes try and get the comfy seating around the warming stove

Merchant Bistro

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
01/11/2016: Met my mates here for a long overdue catch up for dinner and some drinks, and must say it was just amazing. The atmosphere is great, the staff were lovely, the setting is beautiful and the food was just perfect. Really reasonably priced also. Can not wait to go back. Keep up the good work.
29/10/2016: Really enjoyed our evening. The food was beautifully presented as well as delicious. Staff were so attentive. We would highly recommend Merchant Bistro.

The Bay Fish & Chips

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire
17/01/2017: A lot claim to be the best, but this just excellent!Expect it to be busy, but it's well worth the wait. Love the fact that the boat that landed the fish you're about to eat is displayed above the counterAlso, nothing in the hot press, it's all cooked to order, but worth the waitSuperb!!!
09/01/2017: If you like your fish fresh from the sea and cooked to perfection then this is the place to come to . Perfect every time

Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
17/01/2017: Top service! Smashing! Great tasting food! Plenty choice! All cooked fresh before your eyes! Staff are lovely!
17/01/2017: Being a meat eater, we opted for the vegetarian meze to share between three of us which was a mixture of hot and cold dishes. What amazes you from the off is the taste of the food which more than makes up for the lack of meat! It has not made me want to give up meat but it has opened my eyes to putting great spices into dishes and eating vegetables which I had always avoided previously. Always a lovely place to go to eat some fine food with friends.

Balmakewan Farm Shop

Mearns, Aberdeenshire, >100£
15/01/2017: Recently visited here today with my in laws, two kids aged 10 & 3. What a lovely place. On arrival we where greeted at the door by a lovely gentleman who told us where our seats where. We then went up stairs where we sat beside the window over looking a lovely frosty farm setting. A lovely lady came and explained that it was very busy and would be some time between our meals. The waitress's then took a drinks order for all six of us which where swiftly brought to the table. The menu was then explained along with anyone who has any food tolerance or allergies brought to our attention. We then ordered our starters, crab soup tomato & basil soup sea food plater which where very well presented & where very delicious on the palate! We also order our mains of chargrilled chicken burger (without the bun) 2 pulled BBQ pork gratin. With more sea food and also a lovely kids cured ham sandwich. All was very well presented and tasted was absolute delight to enjoy. We carried on and ordered kids ice cream, cakes, cheese board and some caramel lattes & teas. All was very hot and delicious. Very polite lady and young waitress attended our table making sure we where all happy. The lady even joined in on the gruffalo story by my 3 year old. A very warm friendly & family atmosphere, really enjoyed my brunch here today and will be most definitely making a return with friends and family. I wish to take the time to say a massive thank you for a lovely Sunday family day out. And what very polite and high trained staff you's have working for your establishment. 10/10 from the Smith's & McCready's.
12/01/2017: Headed over for lunch, one fish platter and one toasted baguette, both just spot on. Good value, lovely presentation and great service.

The Marcliffe

Lower Deeside, Aberdeen City, >100£
15/01/2017: First time at the Marcliff and it lived up to its reputation and we had an exceptional evening. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel special. They set the standard for how service should be: knowledgable, polite, attentive yet non-intrusive. The food was delicious both in flavour and presentation and for people who are into their wine, the wine list is a thing of beauty. If you want a classy night or if you have something to celebrate, the Marcliff should be your first port of call in Aberdeen. It certainly will be for us, from now on!
12/01/2017: Great dinner during our overnight stay. Duck starter and soup were excellent and was my tongue steak and my wife's seafood main course. Service was impeccable and the Bruno Clair wine superb. Looking forward to our next visit.

Maggie's Grill

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City
18/01/2017: I get the same thing every time I come here and I'm never disappointed, Louisiana Hot Chicken Wings to start then a Steak and Chips with Blue Cheese Sauce. The sauce is lovely and I love the house pickles it comes with. The hush puppies are my favourite which also comes with the steak. Service is also very good, only let down of Maggie's is the location is so small you have to book in advance and sometimes if you get sat in the second room you kind of get forgotten about but the food makes up for it!
18/01/2017: from entering the front door the welcome was wonderful the staff are so friendly and helpful nothing was too much bother fantastic selection of food steaks done to perfection they did not have my prefered drink of southern comfort but excelled themselves with a nearly the same cocktail !!! thoroughly recommend this eatery
