16/01/2017: Lunch menu great value and the food was first rate had read reviews saying staff not friendly but we never found this attentive and advised of specials etc the food is well presented and cooked perfectly wines and drinks not overly priced
05/01/2017: Went with my husband for lovely meal. We both had the haggis to start, was absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak pie for his main and I had the duck, both were lovely. We finished with the lemon meringue which was really delicious also. We had a beautiful bottle of Malbec with the meal and water too. The service was excellent throughout and the meal good value for money. We will definitely be going back.

Minishant Inn Restaurant

Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton, South Ayrshire
19/01/2017: I have stopped here for lunch on a couple of occasions and the Cullen skink is excellent. This time I had time for dinner - 2 courses for £15.95. The crab and prawn timbale was very tasty with a side salad and smoked salmon - generous portion size. Then the 3 meat main course with peppercorn sauce. A mini chicken fillet, steak and pork fillet all pan fried to juicy perfection and served with a separate peppercorn sauce. I asked for a side salad but usually served with potatoes and veg. Absolutely delicious. I had a table by the woodburning stove and the staff were friendly but not pushy. Great food, comfortable surroundings. Great for an out of town meal or en route to and from the ferries. I'll be back.
17/01/2017: This is a nice place for a meal if you are passing by & looking for a nice meal do stop in great wee place nice staff.

Little Rock

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
28/12/2016: This cafe is in the centre of Brodick with lovely views across the bay. I have been a number of times for breakfast and found the food and coffee excellent. The staff are very pleasant and they also allow you to have your dog with you in one area near the door.
13/12/2016: We came across the Little Rock on a walk with our dog, we had look at the menu and looked good so I went in and asked a young woman if I could take in my dog. She quickly cleared us a table next to the front door and even went and brought a bowl of water for him. We were so impressed with the food and the lovely staff we went again this morning for breakfast and took our dog. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island and we will return very soon

The Blair

Annick, East Ayrshire
17/01/2017: bold statement. I've been eating here for the past three years. It's always my go to. Portions are huge. Plenty of choice and all home cooked food. Surroundings are like sitting in someone's cosy house. Can't recommend the place enough. To add, I travel around Scotland for work and eat in many places.
17/01/2017: What can I say I've been going to The Blair for months since moving back to Scotland. Every time I've been, weather it be with friends or family it has always been amazing! Been in this evening (17/01) with my step mum and my two little sisters, meal was amazing. Me and my Step Mum shared The Blair House Platter for 2 after eating it we decide we were two full up for our Chicken Burgers, which we have had every time we go in, so we asked the waitress Julie to wrap it up if possible. When they returned we expected a take away tub wrapped up with cling film over the top, but no they were in foil and a paper bag each! These kind of things make the place what it is. Thank you too the two waitress's who served us you were amazing and your a credit to the business. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Black Bull Tarbolton

Kyle, South Ayrshire
16/01/2017: I had heard so much good about the black bull in tarbolton so phoned to book a dinner for family and friends for my daughters 21st they explained about the reduced menu which was fine however when we arrived there was no one to meet us or show us where to go anyway the lady brought us the menus and explained about the reduced menu but assured us there could be one or two exceptions my daughter wanted the goats cheese starter from the main menu when she requested this the lady rolled her eyes also after the starters arrived one of the party had not received theirs it had clearly been forgotten about everyone else at the table had finished when it arrived. On to the main courses my daughters bf ordered a side of garlic bread which came after the meal was finished and once again after a reminder when she brought it it was almost flung down with the comment I don't even know who ordered it granted it had been taken off the bill there was another party in also celebrating a 60th birthday and the lady serving obviously knew them and spent plenty time and attention on them whilst a few of our party had to visit the bar for drinks most of the party wanted to order desserts but we were made to feel that any request was an inconvenience I totally understand they were very busy but would rather they had said they were full on the phone than having to endure such terrible service that spoiled my daughters special night out the food was delicious may I add but the service is terrible and I doubt we will be back also no reply to an e mail I sent voicing my findings
03/01/2017: very large menu's, although many items are on different menu's, so takes a while to choose, but food was good.Car park is very small, so we had to find a space elsewhere.

The Old Pier Tearoom

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
05/01/2017: This place is one of the best reasons to visit Arran. Wonderful home made soups and savouries, cakes to take years off your life. The only problem with this cafe is the seating capacity, it is small and fills up quickly, however there is never a long wait. It is worth waiting. There is a wifi hotspot somewhere nearby.Plenty parking around the place
28/11/2016: Ok tearoom for a stop off en route around the island. Tourist souvenirs which were a little tired and UV'd due to many items being in the windows for a long time. Good cuppa and home bakes at a decent price.

Cafe Thyme

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, 20-30£
08/01/2017: We telephoned to check the Sunday lunch times. Til 3pm. We set off and SatNav said arrival 2.45! Then found the String road was shut so we couldn't get there til later. Not only did they keep the cafe open for us, but were SO accommodating when we did get there. Great food freshly made and cooked for us by Lewis. The best simple salad I've had in ages (Megan told me it was grown just across the way). Good quantity. Good beer. Decent puds and glorious fresh drawn Suki Teas to finish. Clean, with stunning views across the bay. Plentiful outdoor children's play area. And beautiful toilets. We're returning this week to sample more delights, and this time I will visit the shop too. It is a must visit!
03/01/2017: Friendly staff. Clean premises and toilets. Food abundant and plenty to choose from. Catered well for gluten free. Great to come here with children as play area outside.

Wildings Hotel and Restaurant

Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton, South Ayrshire, 20-30£
18/12/2016: my husband and I were here today. We were lucky to get a table when we booked yesterday, such is the popularity of this restaurant. The food was excellent in all respects. My husband had the cream of onion soup. He says that the soups in here are the best he has tasted. He went on to have the featherblade of beef. The portion was very generous, and it took him all his energy to finish it. I had a poached pear with prawn starter, followed by blackened salmon with a lemon butter sauce. Both were really good.We always have a very light breakfast when we are coming here, as they feed you royally. The restaurant is bright, tastefully decorated, and the waitresses are very friendly and professional. Wilding's is a credit to the owners. It can not be bettered in South Ayrshire . (Mr Trump along the road take note!)
08/12/2016: Eaten here on many occasions, lunches and dinners. Food always delicious, service always friendly and efficient. Portion sizes perfect. Cater well for children.

Zucca Ristorante Pizzeria

East Kilbride Central North, South Lanarkshire
17/01/2017: As an infrequent visitor to East Kilbride I've been going to Zucca's since shortly after they first opened and have enjoyed great food and friendly service every time. My favourite dishes are the mussels as a starter followed by one of the pizzas although the fish specials are always tempting. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.
15/01/2017: Had a surprise meal/night for Son's 40th birthday and the whole night was superb.Planning and liasing with staff was so simple and straightforward. The meal for 20 was outstanding and the service was first class.Special thanks to David and Gary and waitress on the evening(sorry didn't get her name)I would highly recommend this friendly, professional establishment.

The Chestnuts Hotel Restaurant

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
17/01/2017: I didn't think the menu was that great and struggled to make a choice. My starter of mushrooms and main of chicken breast with creamy cajun sauce were both very bland. The sticky toffee pudding was nice though and I can't fault the staff who were really friendly and attentive.
07/01/2017: I went here with my sisters just before Christmas where we all had a superb lunch with very comfortable surroundings and great service. This was about my tenth visit to this place as the food is just so good and the menu is tasteful and changes on a regular basis. This time was a full Christmas lunch for all, which didn't disappoint! Will be back for sure in 2017
