Hogarths @ The Craigie Inn

Kyle, South Ayrshire, >100£
13/03/2018: Been to the Craigie a few times now with my girlfriend and the whole experience has been brilliant. The place looks amazing lovely Scottish traditional look. The food is best I have ever tasted in a restaurant. Steak pie is best I have ever had. The staff are so friendly and attentive nothing is too much trouble. Nice drink selection. The owners John are Fiona are just the best. Fiona is Always there to see you are ok and take a true interest on how you are. Such kind friendly people. And john is one hell of a chef. You have done a brilliant job in just 1 year to have such a great well run place with the best food about. Can't wait for my next return.
11/03/2018: My partner and I have now been twice to the Craigie inn for our lunch and well all I can say is wow. I have chilli prawns to start which came in a beautiful mango chilli sauce. To die for. Then the fish and chips best fish I have ever had and the chip were amazing. My partner had mushroom then also fish which he agreed how amazing they tasted. The whole place has a warm homely feeling. Was so relaxing and the staff were brilliant. So friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much. The owners are so nice and kind and make sure everyone is ok. Made us feel so welcome. I will be back for sure and will be highly recommending to everyone I know.

Savoy Cafe

Ayr West, South Ayrshire
11/03/2018: Dinner with friends. Starter good but main meal of Cajun Chicken bland. Not a great combination of rice and chips which made it quite heavy. Service was good and reasonably priced.
11/03/2018: This was a true surprise. We visited Ayr during the recent snowstorms in the Central Lowlands and were looking for a warming hot chocolate and coffee hit when we came across this delightful establishment. We were given a lovely welcome from Ewan and although we did not order food were made most welcome. Other patrons were dining and the food especially the burgers, fish dishes and salads looked very appealing and were being enjoyed by all. The whole place had a buzz about it. Highly recommended as it says on their card Wine, dine and socialise..

18/03/2018: I had never eaten in the Gypsy cream before and had only heard of it through my camera club as we are allowed to put our images on their wall for sale which is brilliant. Anyway I decided to go for lunch with my mum and dad. We all had the soup and panini/sandwich combo. My lentil and ham soup was very tasty and my dad had the same. My mum had the chicken noodle which wasn't short of chicken and she really enjoyed it. I had the tuna cheese panini my mum had a cheese and tomato sandwich and my dad had the brie and cranberry panini all were amazing and well presented. Staff were lovely throughout the visit. Place itself is very clean and fresh looking. I couldn't fault it at all and I look forward to my next visit. Thank you.

01/04/2018: The food in Little Rock was really tasty. The exterior of the building doesn't do the place justice. Definitely worth a visit for tasty grub if you're in Brodick.

Varani's Forum Cafe, Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse, East Ayrshire
03/01/2018: Still remains the best place in Ayrshire for ice cream. Our family have been going here for 20+ years and we still haven’t found anywhere that does such an excellent selection of ice cream. Best in Ayrshire for sure!!! Just some of the flavours available : Nutella / strawberry cheesecake / Fererro Rocher etc etc as well as all of the old favourites and sorbets too. They regularly have low fat options too
22/12/2017: If you want great ice cream then this cafe is the place to visit. Plenty of flavours to choose from. Staff are all very friendly. Parking outside the shop.
