Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
17/01/2017: Loved the great cake, owner and service. We were treated so well during our visit. I would visit again.
15/01/2017: Steffan's cafe is a fantastic place. We've been several times and EVERY time we have such a friendly welcome - we love coming to chat with Steffan by the fire! The bara brith, homemade lemonade, and heavenly hot chocolate are scrumptious, and Steffan introduced us to welsh cakes with cream and jam on our last visit - what a fab idea, so yummy! Steffan is a fountain of knowledge about the local area (and beyond), and is just SO kind - nothing is too much trouble. We invested in the cookbook too, fantastic! Lovely people, lovely place, we never go to North Wales without visiting - can't wait for next time! Diolch yn fawr iawn! :) <3

Palas Caffi

Seiont, Gwynedd
19/11/2016: Quick drop in before a meeting for a cuppa & a cream tea. Very nice, even packed the fruit cake for me to eat later. Immaculately clean & friendly staff. Great selection of home made ice creams, will try them the next time!
12/11/2016: After visiting the castle we stopped after seeing the ice cream shop. I decided on a mango and passion fruit ice cream that was creamy and delicious. My husband had a raspberry flavoured ice cream with an edible poppy. Each sale of this ice cream the shop made a donation to the poppy appeal. Definitely would go back as the selection of ice cream was very good. Friendly staff and a lovely shop and view of the castle .

Breaktimes Cafe

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
21/12/2016: Had a brilliant breakfast here, unlimited tea with it and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent. Can't fault it. Will definitely visit again when in the area
29/11/2016: Stayed at the Travel Lodge and they recommended Breaktimes Café for our breakfast. Fabulous, absolutely lovely breakfast, bargain prices, orange juice, free coffee/tea refills all included in the price! All the staff were friendly and helpful and the place was immaculately clean. Used the facilities on the way out and they were spotlessly clean and well maintained. Great place that I would recommend to anyone in need of great breakfast in Porthmadog.

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
19/01/2017: Had delicious lunch here in this snug but cosy little place. As a vegetarian I'm very often disappointed by the lack of effort and imagination of most chefs. Not here though. I chose the Indian inspired meal which was a delightful selection of tasty textures and flavours. What a wonderful change. Lovely nibbles to start with and good coffee. Unfortunately couldn't manage a pudding - maybe next time! My carnivorous partner loved his fishy selection as well. Highly recommended.
17/01/2017: We visited the restaurant as an end of holiday celebration, with my brother and his wife. We were made very welcome, and the suitable wait for your food is in a wonderful atmospheric dining room. The service was superb and the food delicious well thought out and deserving of much wider acclaim. My food was expertly cooked, and with interesting and thoughtful contrasts of flavours and textures.

Paysanne

Deganwy, Conwy
15/01/2017: We've dined at Paysanne a number of times over the years but have usually left feeling something was missing to make our meal a really memorable one. It may be we are unfairly comparing it with some of our favourite French restaurants. The standard of cooking is good, though not adventurous, and I would personally prefer it if quantity gave way to quality at time. The welcome is warm, and there is always a demand for places so it is wise to book ahead. However whilst understanding the need to have a certain number of covers to maintain profitability, do tables really need to be so close together?
11/01/2017: We found this restaurant on the Internet and decided to give it a try.It offers French Food which was excellent. The owner was very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had an enjoyable meal and will definately return.

Scoops

Seiont, Gwynedd
16/01/2017: We thoroughly enjoyed our recent lunch here, I went for the goats cheese and my partner opted for the salmon pancake, it was our first time trying savoury pancakes and it didn't disappoint, the coffee was great too-such good quality! The staff were very friendly too, one thing I would say though is that after our pancakes, we were craving something sweet and wanted to share a dessert, we kept trying to catch the waiter's eye but we were never asked if we wanted anything more, in the end we got up to pay and bought ice creams to go which tasted great!
11/01/2017: Really friendly little pancake house. Worth a visit if you're im Caernarfon! My daughter always enjoys the sweet pancakes and flavoured ice creams whereas my hubby and myself prefer the savoury options.

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
06/01/2017: I visited this restaurant between Christmas and New Year with my Husband and our 5yr old. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. The look and feel of the place was warm and inviting (I look forward to returning when the extension is completed)...then to seal the deal, the food was outstanding! I had Scallops on a Tarragon Risotto to start, Lamb for main and a lovely banana and rum crumble for pudding. Each course was divine! I was also thrilled with the way they catered to the needs (demands) of my daughter who loved the spaghetti bolognese, but doesn't like the sauce and pasta mixed together. They were more than accommodating and she had a really lovely experience. She enjoyed the food so much she ate most of her dad's too! (his slow cooked Lamb Ragu was delicious so you cant blame her really)! We will definitely be back next time we are visiting the area! Our annual break in Tywyn has definitely been improved by the discovery of this lovely restaurant!
01/01/2017: Food was fresh, well presented and amazing. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. Atmosphere was warm and cosy! Will definitely visit here again! A fantastic start to the year- diolch yn fawr!

Coastal Cafe

Moelfre, Isle of Anglesey
19/01/2017: We both decided on an all-day breakfast for our lunch, one large traditional and one veggie. Both were very good, quality food and nicely cooked. Service is very friendly and the café is very clean. Definitely recommended. They have several daily specials on offer as well as the full café menu. Just one suggestion - put on more veggie choices and make veggie sausages part of the veggie breakfast. Recommended to all.
14/01/2017: Visited this restaurant with friends for fish and chips. Excellent meal, beautiful fish. The restaurant also has a more comprehensive menu and some interesting dishes. Service was good and staff very helpful.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a hearty and delicious meal. We had the steak and ale pie with chips and a selection of veg. Didn't have room for a pudding - wish I'd saved some space. Bistro Restaurant

Rhyl West, Denbighshire, 30-45£
18/01/2017: Excellent service wonderful meals and altogether a fabulous evening out.The bistro is well recommended by us with a decent menu and very affordable.
18/01/2017: Rhyl hasn't got many British restaurants. By British I mean a fusion. You can get brilliant steaks/fish etc. But this doesn't mean meat and two veg.The food is great and the service, don't forget the staff, is great. Would I recommend this? I don't know. You already have to book in advance. By strongly recommending the Bisro, I might have a long wait to get i again.
