Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
30/03/2018: We decided to drive, climb, drive in a day up Mount Snowdown. The weather forecast at the summit appeared positive around mid day and we arrived at Rhyd Ddu and set of the the peak at 9.30am. Deep snow on the traverse made things interesting and we decided to descend via Llanberis and find our way back to the car somehow.
24/03/2018: We visited the café after climbing the steepest half mile I've climbed for a long time (being from South Wales). What a warm welcome my wife and l had and we only stopped for a cuppa with some bara brith (traditional welsh cake). The café could double up as a mini welsh cottage museum which we were encourage by Steffan the hoist/owner to look around We were give loads of useful local information and some info not so local about Caernarfon. Our visit to the café was one of our highlights of our trip to North Wales and will be remembered for a long time.

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
25/03/2018: We were visiting the area with friends who had been recommended this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. Excellent menu with so many good choices we found it difficult to decide. The food was all fresh, tasty and well presented and the service and ambience was also very good. Prices also very reasonable for such high quality - we paid around £75 per couple for three courses with wine. A deservedly popular place so make sure you book ahead.
25/03/2018: We were staying at Ruthin Castle and decided to eat here as we were not enamoured with the hotel or restaurant we were at. We had an excellent meal at this restaurant, very inventive menu, food cooked well and delicious too. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return! Prices were very reasonable for food served and portions were plentiful. Lovely staff, great find!

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
26/03/2018: This is the third time we have had the pleasure of eating here (twice a few years ago before the Michelin star had been awarded).
20/03/2018: It was my second visit to this magical place in which you are suspended in time whilst your taste buds are treated to an array of tasty and surprising morsels. After a warm welcome from Bethan you allow yourself to choose some wine and then wait for the tasty morsels conjured up by Stephen. The menu was totally different from my last visit apart from the lovely ice-cream lolly at the end - a mixture of dark chocolate, creamy lemon and smattering of olives. Every dish had a number of ingredients that highlighted the main component - magic was created with lamb, fish, beetroot, fish skin, white chocolate egg with a creamy filling and more. We arrived at 7.00 and left at 11.00 having enjoyed both the understated service from Bethan and the delicious cooking of Stephen. The whole party loved the experience and intend to return.

Moorings Bistro

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
29/03/2018: Called for lunch today, got fantastic seats outside facing the bay, throws were provided to keep off the chill. Husband ordered fish cakes off the specials menu, which were okay, however my mains of mussels at £14.95 were disgusting. They were served in a cream sauce which lacked any flavour but worst still they were served unclean with nearly half of them being served unopened and therefore inedible, they were covered in seaweed and ones that were open had their beards still attached, the garlic bread was cheap shop bought, I felt nauseous after attempting to eat them. Did not raise a complaint as it was quite packed out and I was too embarrassed. Overpriced poor food on this occasion!
27/03/2018: We have visited regularly over past few years. Always a welcome from staff. A small space which was busy at lunchtime so noise levels from other guests was a little high. But good that they were having such a great time. We had a very tasty lunch . Duck confit with salad and mackerel pate with great home made french toast . Salad had lovely dressing. Great standards and excellent experience. Diolch yn fawr eto.

No. 46 Coffee Shop

Criccieth, Gwynedd
01/04/2018: We called in for a quick drink and it was lovely to walk in on a chilly day and find a log burner in the corner which was burning away! After seeing the cakes that were available we had a cream tea and also a few other cakes which were all outstanding and we will definitely be going back again this week to try out a few more things on the menu that looked amazing! Friendly and welcoming staff.
23/02/2018: Great value, warm and friendly staff and top quality. Hard to beleive at this price. TOP MARKS! We had 2 cream teas with a generous pot of tea for 3 people
