The Brit Pub

Bryn and Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot, 20-30£
21/02/2018: My wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary with a fabulous evening meal.
18/02/2018: Come here for an evening meal as we had a voucher from family.

Sketty, Swansea
17/02/2018: Booked for birthday meal. Restaurant is on a side street in Sketty but easy to find. Simple frontage but as soon as we entered were greeted by friendly waitress. Dining area is upstairs and is plain, unpretentious but warm and friendly. Service was excellent with waitress being knowledgeable and very amiable. We had the tasting menu which was just gorgeous with lots of different dishes. Chef brought some of the dishes, explaining them which was a nice touch. Overall a lovely meal with excellent service and great cooking. Do visit!
17/02/2018: My second visit to Slice and if anything it exceeded the first, which I would have thought impossible! Every course was incredibly well put together, but I have to agree with our host that the fish was my favourite. Brill with langoustines with the most delicate langoustine beurre blanc, it was mind blowing. Presentation was incredible and flavour combinations were inspired. Service was impeccable. I’ve been to restaurants with Michelin stars who don’t come anywhere near this quality of food! Thanks for a fantastic night.

Oystermouth, Swansea
21/02/2018: Enough said! This is the best ice cream you will ever eat! I wish they would come to Essex! You won’t ever be disappointed!
21/02/2018: A Welsh city wouldn’t perhaps be the first place you would expect to find an exquisite luxury Italian ice cream but you could go a long way to find an ice cream as good as Joes. Like other places in South Wales, Swansea has quite a rich heritage of Italian families that migrated from Italy in the early 1900s and opened up small catering businesses to serve the large industrial centres. The heavy industry has mostly gone now but the Italian legacy remains through a surprisingly high number of independent cafes and ice cream parlours. Joes is one of the very best of these ice cream parlours and has been a firm Swansea favourite for decades. No visit to the wonderful beaches of the Gower has ever been quite complete without finishing the day with a Joes ice cream. As for the ice cream itself, it is a very white, sweet and creamy Italian style gelato . There are many other flavours available but most customers tend to stick with the classic vanilla product. Joes is definitely an indulgent luxury ice cream . I wouldn’t expect that the sugar or fat content would make good reading for anyone on a restricted diet but, as with many other luxury products, this ice cream is best enjoyed as an occasional special treat. There are three Joes parlours; one is in Mumbles , another is on St Helens Road close to the Guildhall and the most recently opened shop is on a small retail park close to Morriston on the northern fringe of Swansea.

The Crown

Mardy, Monmouthshire

The Clink Restaurant

Adamsdown, Cardiff, 20-30£
21/02/2018: Brilliant service and fantastic food quality yet again. Continuously impressed here. Value for money and interesting menu
21/02/2018: While up in cardiff myself and my girlfriend visited this restaurant for breakfast .We were not disappointed, the presentation was spot on the the taste was great as you would expect from locally sourced food.

Gwaelod y Garth Inn

Pentyrch, Cardiff, <20£
20/02/2018: Recommended by friends as good food, good value and good atmosphere. Exactly what we got. So good re-visited 3 days later! (We haven't dined out for years).
13/02/2018: In the main have chosen to eat in the restaurant as opposed to the bar as I've an aversion to animals and the bar is dog friendly. This is not a cheap and nasty venue but the food is excellent and the welcome warm and cheerful. The owner maintains standards by being hands on and imparts the benefit of her experience to the staff. The chef does the establishment proud and this all combines to give a fine dining experience.

Belle Vue Bistro

Castle, Swansea, 20-30£
18/02/2018: Outstanding service, excellent food.. highly recommend, perfect for family functions. Very welcoming
15/02/2018: Great food, great service, and reasonably priced.

Swansea, Wales

Gowerton, Swansea
20/01/2018: This place is fantastic and one of the best places for Chinese/Oriental food in South Wales (maybe even further!). The service is friendly, attentive and helpful with information about the food and is accommodating when one of us wanted a dish with Beef rather than Chicken. I couldn't ask for more from the staff as they were outstanding. On to the food... It truly is fantastic like many of the other reviews for Ocean have already said. In my opinion you won't find food this good anywhere else other than the orient itself. Everything we had was overflowing with flavour and wonderful textures, I've never had a duck dish where the meat literally fell apart as I picked it up with some chopsticks!Portion size is generous and everything is incredibly fresh adding to the flavour. The fact they are open all the hours you can want and do takeaways is even more reason to try them out! Will definitely be recommending Ocean to anyone and everyone and will be back very soon indeed to try even more fantastic food!
20/01/2018: Great service, spoke to both members of staff who were extremely friendly. The Food was out of this world. The Spice, Salt and Chilli Chicken Wings left a sensational of my tongue that I have never experienced before. Great evening overall.

Nata & Co

Adamsdown, Cardiff
17/02/2018: So good Pastéis de Nata. Really friendly service. Lovely little place, better coffee you will not find. Good prices, for 2 espressos and 2 Pastéis de Nata we paid only 4£! For sure we will come back when next time in Cardiff.
15/02/2018: Excellent food, friendly staff, affordable prices. A place not to be missed. Very tasty cakes which all family enjoyed.

Liswerry, Newport
20/02/2018: My close friend had her birthday cake made by Gemelli. See attached photo. It looked amazing and tasted amazing. It is all cake and white chocolate. I would highly recommend.
18/02/2018: From the time we walked in to the time we left we were made to feel that nothing was to much trouble. The food was an explosion of flavours. The desserts well which one do you have that was the hardest thing. Our waitress Anna was lovely and made sure we had a lovely evening. Thank you and see you again soon.

Afternoon Tea at the Angel

Grofield, Monmouthshire
17/02/2018: Great value for money. Excellent service nothing was too much. Very clean. Food delicious. Came home with a neatly wrapped box of goodies would recommend
10/02/2018: I visited for afternoon tea with my partner and grandmother. The food was good, and the service started well. However, about halfway through the staff seemed to give up! We had a late reservation (4:30) and from 5:30 onwards we had to push the staff to clear our table or bring any drinks. I was so thirsty at one point I went to hover by the kitchen and ask someone to serve our table! The staff were more interested in clearing all of the tables around us. In the end, having waited half an hour for a tea for my grandmother, we left and bought one on the way home. Disappointing.

Saray Restaurant

Plasnewydd, Cardiff
19/02/2018: Six of us attended on a Sunday evening and the place was packed which is usually a good sign. Large portions, tasty food & good value for money all with good service. Finished off with baklava and Turkish tea. What more do you want?
17/02/2018: The meat will leave you very satisfied here. Marinated to perfection and in hearty portions. They also offer dishes with no meat, Eg stuffed vibe leaves.

The Hellenic Eatery

Cathays, Cardiff
20/02/2018: This is the best place to get tasty value for money. Mr T introduced me to this place and I am so glad that he did. The gyro plate is the main dish we go for, full of tender delicious meat and my favourite part the red onion and tomato salad. We always, without fail, hate the deep fried feta with sesame and honey, I'm salivating at the thought of it now.
19/02/2018: I have worked on Corfu, Kos, Crete, Rhodes and have now owned a chill out bar on Zakynthos for 12 years.

Shaam Nights

Plasnewydd, Cardiff, <20£
18/02/2018: Food was fantastic and very well priced, service was brilliant and staff were friendly. Would 100% recommend and will come again!
17/02/2018: Really good food and very good service. Atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and staff is polite and helpful. I highly recommend lamb biryani and hummus. Really very tasty. The nan breads are fluffy and soft. Batata hara was good too. Avocado shake is more like an icecream shake. There mixed kofta with the yellow rice is perfect. Must try

Bouchon De Rossi

Castle, Swansea
19/02/2018: The welcoming, the service were very professional. The quality of the food was outstanding although we had to wait a little bit long for our mains. Will be back
13/02/2018: We came here before going to the Swansea grand theatre as it's just a short walk across a car park to the theatre. Great location for the theatre.
