Slice

Sketty, Swansea
16/01/2017: Brought my girlfriend for her 21st birthday as a special treat and our evening was incredible! We opted for the taster menu and we're amazed by the range of flavours we experienced. My favourite dish was the halibut although every dish was delicious. First place in Swansea is well deserved, I've been to a lot of the top restaurants in Swansea and the quality of food at this restaurant far surpasses them all.
14/01/2017: A wonderful meal in a lovely restaurant .. the food was lovely and the music was perfect .. combination of venison , goats cheese ravioli, pan fried plaice and Welsh cheese .. all swilled down with a great bottle of wine .. top meal

17/01/2017: Visited in a group of 9. The place was bustling and friendly. Food and service superb. The staff provided a mix of starters to share before mains so we tried a lot of different dishes. Everything was delicious. Will be back.
16/01/2017: Excellent food and superb service. The ambience was very relaxing and cool. The only down side was the food portion of the thaali which was not enough for an adult but can be over looked as the food was delicious.

Afternoon Tea at the Angel

3 offers
Grofield, Monmouthshire
17/01/2017: My hubby booked this for my 49th birthday and informed reception when he booked that it was my birthday unfortunately this wasn't recognised :( however the next table along did get recognition of his birthday :( the high tea is very decadent and tasty and I would recommend, however if it is a special occasion I would reiterate the occasion as it was a bit of an anti - climax for us !
16/01/2017: My girlfriend brought me here after she'd had a great experience with her friends. The room is fantastic, the selection of teas is vast and unlimited. The food is amazing. The service is impeccable. The first time it was just the two of us. I had eaten my savoury food and was half way through my warm scone, when the waitress tried to take my cakes to pack them up. I was rather disgruntled and asked her to leave them. What a cheek! However, 5 minutes later, having finished my scone I sheepishly asked her to pack up my cakes to take home. I was well and truly beaten, and I'm a big eater!!We then took my parents for a birthday treat and invited other family too. My brother and his partner have had afternoon tea at the Ritz, but said the Angel was better. On both occasions I've noticed that nearly everyone leaves with food packaged up that they couldn't finish. It's not about portion sizes though, the food really is extremely good, and I'd give the same score if there was less of it.I'm am getting into this afternoon tea malarkey and can't wait to find another reason/occasion to come here.

Joes

Oystermouth, Swansea
18/01/2017: An excellent restaurant for enjoying a break from walking along the sea front in Swansea Bay. The coffee and cakes are superb and the ice-cream is second to none. Nearly always a seat/table available inside or out with lovely views over Swansea Bay.
18/01/2017: Joes is a basic café very clean, good service, lovely basic food amazing ice cream. There is always a queue at the outside kiosk. Loads of flavours but vanilla is exceptional

Belle Vue Bistro

Castle, Swansea, 20-30£
19/01/2017: We'd been to see a film and decided to grab a pizza on the way home. Our usual (chain) was very busy so we tried the Belle Vue Bistro. What a find! Great little place. Good, friendly service and most of all lovely, tasty Italian food. Don't expect massive portions, but you won't be disappointed. Recommended.
17/01/2017: Myself and my partner often go back to Belle Vue for luch/dinner/special occassions. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff warm and welcoming. The food is delicious (never had a bad meal here) and the waiters/waitresses are attentive and accommodating. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food, and it's a good idea to book for weekends as it's a popular place. Perfectly situated near the centre of town. Certainly worth a try!

18/01/2017: Had a lovely three course lunch there with colleagues from our Healthy Heart Club, just before Christmas. Cooked and served by the students of the College. They made us feel very welcome and the ambience was lovely. Would recommend it for good food at reasonable prices.

Cafe Citta

Cathays, Cardiff
19/01/2017: Visited for lunch with a friend. Staff were helpful and efficient. The food was just delicious. You need to book in advance but it's well worth it.
18/01/2017: I went here after it was recommended to me from a colleague. I wasn't disappointed ! The greeting was cold and the staff didn't sell the establishment for me, but the food and my company. It was unfortunate that the lights were on, no dimmed light, that was such a shame. But I would still return simply in the hope that the light is dimmed and the personnel in a good mood because I'm sure the food will be top notch again!

Pizzorante

Priory, Monmouthshire
17/01/2017: Have visited occasionally over the years. Service, food always of a good standard, the house red wine supplemented the meals.
17/01/2017: Nice little independent Italian restaurant, pizza was pretty good and large, could do with something extra to make it more tasty.....garlic or chilli oils / flakes and Parmesan ...as although they were good nothing better than a take out. Courgette chips were a nice option. Friendly service, nice option for a meal out

Mosaic

Castle, Swansea, 30-45£
18/01/2017: We went there on the Saturday before Christmas, absolutely superb, with great staff. Amazing selection of dishes , thoroughly enjoyed, will definitely be back.
17/01/2017: Very good tapas style eating - but not tapas ashes, far more adventurous. The restaurant is at the end of a really depressing, pretty dirty alley which really needs to be improved. But it's worth walking briskly through to get to Mosaic.

The Clink Restaurant

Adamsdown, Cardiff, 20-30£
18/01/2017: I went with my work colleagues for Christmas lunch. I had goose which was a new dish for me. Everything was well presented to an excellent standard. Everyone enjoyed their meals, a great selection of both sweet and savoury dishes. Personally what is even more special about the Clink is it gives individuals the opportunity to discover gifts and talents they never knew they had. They are able to gain work experience, achieve a sense of purpose and a hope that their future can be different. I would definitely visit again and support this cause.
17/01/2017: We visited the Clink restaurant in Cardiff late November 2016, we pre ordered the Christmas menu. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was lovely very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We went as had heard from friends it was a lovely, different place to enjoy good food and it didn't disappoint. No alcohol allowed but that didn't bother our group of 4. It's very busy so you need to book early to get in. We have plans to have there afternoon tea as we've also heard that that is stunning too. 5 stars. Great concept, will definitely return :)

Gwaelod y Garth Inn

Pentyrch, Cardiff, <20£
17/01/2017: We love the Gwaelod the food is consistently good, the welcome friendly and the bar warm, dog friendly and wonderfully relaxed just right after a long cold walk up the Garth mountain! The burgers were wholesome with real meat a very substantial lunch hubby spotted the faggots and peas which looked amazing a definite lure to return.
16/01/2017: This is the best pub/ resterant in Cardiff, the food is all locally sauced and delisous, the beer range is good varied and alway on top form, they also brew their own beer on site. Most of the eating is done upstairs, so down stairs, still retains a traditional pub feel, there is also a good area outside to lap up the sun, on those nice days, and if you are feeling energetic, there is a nice walk up to the top of the garth montain, that start behind the pub.

Madame Fromage

Cathays, Cardiff
14/01/2017: Chose this cafe for lunch this Saturday, had been a couple of times before with friends so knew the food was tasty and freshly prepared and very busy on a Saturday. Was dining alone so a little self conscious but after a relatively short wait for the number of people queuing in front.of me I was given a table and made to feel very welcome. Can recommend the hot spiced crumble for pudding it is delicious!
