Slice

Sketty, Swansea
25/02/2017: Absolutely stunning meal, excellent wine & fabulous hosts. Thank you so much, we think we have found our favourite restaurant ever & it's so close to our home which is an added bonus. Fantastic!!
24/02/2017: I am literally lost for words. My husband and I dined here this evening and everything was perfect from the wine to the food to the hosting. The food isn't just delicious - it's the colour and texture too. I think it is probably the best dining experience ever.

Afternoon Tea at the Angel

3 offers
Grofield, Monmouthshire
20/02/2017: Came here for afternoon tea to celebrate my fathers birthday. Beautiful location, service was simply fantastic! They even sang happy birthday to my father and gave him a birthday cake just by picking up on our conversation at the table. I don't know who was more surprised, my father or the rest of us! Everything was beautiful, food was wonderful and staff very attentive on making sure you have everything you need. They made it a very special occasion. Would definitely come again.
17/02/2017: For a special occasion, this is the perfect place. The afternoon tea selection is really good and each cake, sandwich and savoury was delicious! The tea was lovely and the service faultless! Will be back at some point.

Belle Vue Bistro

Castle, Swansea, 20-30£
22/02/2017: I love pizza. Working away in sunny Swansea I thought I'd consult the usually reliable trip advisor for a recommendation. It looked promising on screen. It has more of a cafe ambience than a real restaurant. Staff are pleasant enough. Pizza was distinctly average and size wise....... just have something to eat before you go. I almost never eat dessert, but ordered what turned out to be a rather nice salted caramel cheesecake (sadly without a hint of salt) to stop me having a proper meal on the way back to the hotel. Thought an independent would be better than a chain. Clearly not....
20/02/2017: Visited the bistro on a Saturday night, first visit, definitely won't be the last! Great atmosphere and setting when you walk in! Not a massive menu, but it's the more the high quality tastes you get! Definitely recommend to anyone in Swansea!

Chai Street

Gabalfa, Cardiff, <20£
23/02/2017: Was extremely busy for a weekday, but still managed to get a table after a short wait which was good. Staff were lovely and attentive. I went for the fish thali, but the daal was a bit too lemon flavoured and the fish curry slightly bitter. The vegetarian curry in the thali was lovely and the chickpea option my mother got was lovely - would definitely recommend. Worth a try as the atmosphere is completely different in comparison to your usual Indian restaurant with the street food theme and decor.
19/02/2017: Visited Chai St a few times. Can't fault the food, great value for money also which is a bonus! Absolutely delicious and excellent quality. Service is spot on and super friendly. Lovely and unique restaurant - there's nowhere else in Cardiff quite like it!

Cafe Citta

Cathays, Cardiff
24/02/2017: Cafe Citta is one of Cardiff's little gems. The food is excellent and interesting and it's good value. It's very popular these days so it's worth trying to get a booking.
24/02/2017: Frankly, I don't really understand the hype this restaurant has attracted. The food is good but not exceptional. I came here for early evening dinner with a friend and his son.Service was prompt. We all had starters - I had the Caprese, which was tasty. My friend had some olives which were very large with large stones, which made them difficult to negotiate........My main was tagliatelle with mushrooms and prawns - unfortunately somewhat over-cooked. The meal was reasonably priced, but I wouldn't recommend this place for a special occasion.

Nant Restaurant

Taffs Well, Rhondda Cynon Taf
22/02/2017: Had a superb evening meal here. I thought the whole experience was just great. Keep up the good work!!
17/02/2017: I visited this restaurant with my husband for a belated Valentines meal. After seeing it on Trip Advisor a while back I have been wanting to try it & it certainly didn't disappoint! To start I had scallops my husband had Pigeon breast, both were delicious however the Belly Pork main was outstanding! The students were lovely & very attentive. Also drinks very reasonably priced compared to other Cardiff eateries and bars. I totally understand why it is rated number one & am looking forward to returning again very soon! Keep up the good work!!!!!!

Anatonis

Cyncoed, Cardiff, <20£
25/02/2017: We were really excited to eat here as the reviews were so positive. However the experience was just rather average. The bread tasted a little stale and there was too much balsamic vinegar in the dish and not enough olive oil. The veal main course tasted very ordinary and was quite expensive for the size of the dish. Pizza and pasta dishes were tasty as was the starter of tomato, avocado and mozzarella.
24/02/2017: Went here for Thursday date night. After trying the majority of Italian restaurants in Cardiff we tried this for the first time. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The smell was amazing and the food was top notch!!! We shared the antipasto, I had seabass and my partner had the napula pizza - both were amazing and tasty and presented lovely too. For dessert we had a cream and patisserie layered cake which was also very nice. The only negatives I have are I think it needs a bit more colour around and the seats would be better if they were facing side wall to side wall rather than front to back because my partner was looking at the nice flamed oven and I was looking out at teens circling bikes outside and looking through the window. We had different dining experiences because of it. I would definitely return :)

Gwaelod y Garth Inn

Pentyrch, Cardiff, <20£
23/02/2017: Went to the Gwaelod for my wife's 60th and what a birthday treat it was. There were 13 of us and every one agreed the food was excellent and the same can be said about the service. It certainly made her night as family had travelled from Wiltshire, Northampton and Cornwall and they certainly were not disappointed. Thank you Gwaelod for a fabulous evening.
19/02/2017: Came for a Sunday lunch with family and 2 large muddy dogs after a blustery very wet walk in the garth. Arrived cold wet and hungry. They let us bring the dogs despite they were wet and muddy. my roast chicken dinner arrived and it was what I'd been dreaming of, very generous portions, delicious veg, lots of gravy, very tender chicken and loads of it... it was the best I've ever had outside the home. Pudding (fruit crumble) also delicious. Servers were lovely and knowledgeable, suggesting GF ways to have deserts. food came in good amounts of time not too fast and not slow, I always hate it when food comes out way too fast. Only slight downside we were in some sort of lower-ground celler bit and it was a bit chilly in there.Wonderful place

Chip & Fin

Abersychan, Torfaen
19/02/2017: This is like no fish&chip shop that you will remember as a child if you're a certain age.Appears to be very busy, and the staff are really energetic, very friendly and passionate about how they serve the community. And if you ring ahead for your order, they will have it ready for you without any fuss..

Pizzorante

Priory, Monmouthshire
19/02/2017: Had a great meal here. The two of us had garlic bread, olives and a pizza each. Great lively atmosphere and really good quality food too. Staff very friendly and efficient. they even offered to wrap up the rest of the pizza that we we're unable to finish in order for us to take it home. The restaurant is fairly small and tables quite tightly packed. This means the restaurant maybe too noisy for some, but for me this all added to the great lively atmosphere.I'd recommend it to anyone that loves fresh tasty pizzas
17/02/2017: Authentic Italian food with the pasta being especially nice (without the normal British Italian tendencies like cream in the sauce). Delicious.
