The stowaway coffee co.

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
18/02/2017: We love The Stowaway!! We've holidayed in Tenby every summer for the last 5 years or so, and The Stowaway is our favourite cafe! Crispin and his team are always welcoming and very friendly. The food is delicious and the coffee is very good indeed! It's a cosy, sweet, nook for sheltering on a blustery day, and a great place to pick up everything you need for a sunny day on the beach! Highlights include freshly made crab sandwiches (get in early, they go quickly) and the cheesy chorizo panini! I highly recommend!
27/12/2016: Great coffee superb service and happy friendly staff what more can u ask. A great place to visit for lunch or a coffee an cake session

Y Polyn

Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire, 30-45£
13/03/2017: A birthday treat - and what a treat! Fantastic food with service that was attentive but not intrusive. Delicious pan-fried mackerel followed by superb toast lamb satisfied this carnivore whilst the radish, celeriac, pomegranate and pecorino salad followed by a rotolo of butternut squash, spinach, feta, pine nuts and balsamic red onions wowed my veggie husband and son.
13/03/2017: Amazing meal every time, The best quality food and flavours I have ever tried. Always look forward to the bread rolls they give, their lovely. Very nice, Welcoming staff.

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
18/03/2017: We came here on a trip through Wales and the staff were so friendly. I wish this place was near me and would visit often if that were the case. Thank you for a lovely meal. Number one Indian restaurant in south of wales and worthy of the title.
15/03/2017: Excellent food and service. Staff were brill. Special mention to Kobi The best Indian restaurant in Carmarthen by far

The Shed Bistro

Llanrhian, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
17/03/2017: We're regular visitors to the Shed... it's on the Strumble Shuttle bus route which helps if you want a glass of wine or two with your lunch. We've never had a bad meal, and whether you choose standard fish and chips or something a bit more sophisticated, you won't be disappointed.
13/03/2017: 8 of us ranging in age from early 20 up to 90 plus visited here for lunch on Saturday. We booked in advance which was wise because the custom is continuous, the reason for this soon became apparent. The menus suited everyone, from the fish and chip menu to choosing off the a la carte. Grandma, who hates waste was able to choose a children's meal, the monkfish was fab, the haddock and cod too, the mussels were amazing especially the sauce that went with them. The puddings were great, all the food was nicely presented and tasty. Service was really friendly, down to earth and nothing too much trouble. We sat downstairs so access was all on one level, including the toilet facilities, there is an upstairs if you don't have mobilit problems. It was cosy and above all felt warm in terms of atmosphere, hosts, and environment. You need to go and try it for yourself.

St. David's, Pembrokeshire, 30-45£
19/03/2017: Almost fine dining even for a Sunday roast lunch. The starter I had, seared scallops, really was to die for. There was just toooo much to eat for the roast. Delightful vegetables and the offer of more of which we accepted. Not cheap but (£97 for 3 of us though we had a £27 bottle of wine) Small restaurant popular so reserve your table
17/03/2017: We visited with friends over Christmas. Wonderful food, great service, lovely atmosphere and good value. We'll be going back...

The Canteen

Newport, Pembrokeshire
18/03/2017: Delicious thin and crispy pizza and a huge green salad. Good coffee, friendly staff who cleaned thoroughly as soon as tables vacated. Bonus was we could take the dog too.
18/03/2017: Popped in at dinner time. First thing you notice is that the seating is basic Our server did not introduce herself and never managed a smile while looking after usWe would have loved to here about the menu, the specials etc but we were on our own. Pizza was nice, £10 for a thin base 10" was ok valueGood selection of local craft beers, to wash it down. Just needed a bit more of hospitable approach

the star carvery and grill

Lliedi, Carmarthenshire, <20£
19/03/2017: Big thanks to everyone at the Star for making my Dad's 70th birthday so special. We booked a meal for Friday night in the restaurant, which is comfortable and elegant and perfectly arranged for group parties. The menu is extremely varied - you will have trouble choosing! And the food is all served with a smile and a laugh. Our waitress recommended the Cajun chicken, which my Dad had for his birthday meal and thoroughly enjoyed. One of the uniques things about the Star for special occasions, is the manager's partner is a cake maker (runs honeybears in Llanelli town) and can make really special cakes to suit your occasion. The cake in the photo was ordered a few weeks in advance and extremely competitively priced. Dad loved it! His face says it all The taste was out of this world - so moist and rich! Thanks again everyone at The Star x
16/03/2017: Visited for a carvery the restaurant was busy so we sat in the bar, we all had beef which was beautifully cooked and a very good choice of vegetables, will definitely return again.

Narberth, Pembrokeshire
15/03/2017: Been meaning to call in for a while, you first walk in through the deli and are greeted by an array of cheeses in the shop and bowls of olives, then on through to the back of the shop to their cafe area of big wooden tables which you have to share with others but that was ok. I ordered a Cappuccino with a double shot of espresso and Churros served with a thick chocolate sauce. I have to say both were delicious, the coffee was excellent one of the best I have ever tasted. If you like strong coffee go for this you won't be disappointed. Will definitely return to try the tapas and maybe a glass or two of wine or sherry. A must visit place in Narberth.
13/03/2017: This is a quirky and fun place to eat and socialise. The seating is on benches and one of the real beauties of this is that you really have no idea who you will sit next to, or even sometimes who will be passing your plate to you. The food is authentic and well executed, although if you turn up at peak times, expect to wait (always a good sign). Primarily Tapas, the menu is varied and I have never ordered anything that I haven't liked, even if the descriptions on the menu can be a little "Lost in translation".It really feels like you're transported to Spain on a Sunday morning as the Churches empty and the bars fill up.Oh, and the Deli at the front is packed with well selected treats and is very easy to get carried away in. I really cannot recommend Ultracomida highly enough.

Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
18/03/2017: Previous experience dining at the Mulberry, albeit several years ago it was always first class, we dined with 2 other couples and none of us was disappointed,in fact I believe that the complete experience this time exceeded that of the last visit. The menu was varied and not crazily priced. We had plenty of room our table easily accommodated the six of us. The staff were very professional with just the right amount of attention. We will visit again very soon, suggest everybody that reads this gets on the phone and books a table now!
15/03/2017: We had planned to visit a nearby restaurant but it was closed so we tried The Mulberry. We were welcomed with a beaming smile and advised to chose a table. A bottle of table water quickly arrived and our order was taken. Two superb bread rolls with warm, spreadable butter were delivered just before our starters, pate for my wife and prawns in a delicious sauce for me. Good job I had the bread roll for the sauce. Delicious. For the main course my wife had langoustine ravioli and scallops while I had sea bass, we also had new potatoes and vegetables. This was better than delicious. To follow my wife had cream caramel while I had assiette of chocolate. I'm running out of adjectives now! This was not for sharing. Good service, good music, good decor and excellent food. £75 for two, including glass of wine and tip. Worth every penny.

Newport, Pembrokeshire, 30-45£
02/12/2016: My husband and I dined at Cnapan whenever possible during the long time the Lloyd/Cooper family has been running. Lately, eating there with friends the meals have been better than ever. The attention to detail is quite amazing and there is such a friendly atmosphere. But the tragedy is that the restaurant is closing and Judi, Mike and their son Oliver, will be resting during the evenings, apart from special occasions for a larger gathering, I am told. Nevertheless the Bed and Breakfast will still be available and I am told by various friends that just that experience is very worthwhile. Thanks Judi and Mike and I wish you a happy retirment and shall work on reasons to have one of those "larger gatherings".
14/11/2016: We heard that the owners of Cnapan were retiring and decided we had to have one last dinner with our local friends. So we travelled from Sussex for the occasion, we had a superb evening meal which will be long remembered. So just to wish Michael and Judith well for the future and thanks for so many memorable meals and happy evenings when we have been on holiday in the area.

Plum Vanilla Cafe

Narberth, Pembrokeshire
16/03/2017: Only been there once, lovely quirky little place was quite busy so not much space for my elderly mother to get around the tables. Food quite different and well presented we had a nice lunch.
15/03/2017: Staying for a few days in Tenby so travelled to visit the Wicked Chocolate they were closed so disappointed we went to find somewhere to eat lunch. We found Plum Vanilla Cafe, it was very busy but got a table. The service was fantastic two of us had soup two had mixed Salad. I have not enjoyed a meal out like this in years, to say it was lovely is not enough it was fantastic. 23/02/2017: Good place to use when in Saundersfoot a great range of cupcakes and can always get a good pasty. All the cakes and Pastries look delicious but tend to sell out of some so be quick!
