We really enjoyed our visit today, it was so relaxed with wonderful food, music and service. We have been persuaded to visit the West of Ireland as a result and if it’s half as good as this it will be great.

64 Degreees is an absolute gem in the heart of Brighton. You're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is exceptional. The service was friendly and prompt - the team of attentive and friendly staff go above and beyond to ensure your every need is met. The ambiance is vibrant and lively, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. Michael Bremner, head chef, even had a chat with us and gave us a sample of an off menu dessert he's perfecting. Lovely fella. I believe 64 degrees is a must-visit destination and I'd book this again when I next visit Brighton.

Decided to opt for the ‘Set Menu Sharing Plates’ menu at £50 per person. The menu consists of 10 smallish plates of food but wow they are all delicious. My personal pick from the 10 would be the Fresh Pasta with egg yolk and truffle. We booked a table over looking the kitchen and these are probably the best options as you see the theatre of the kitchen and you have some interaction with the chef’s. Without hesitation one of the best meals out I’ve had in a longtime. Oh and Jerusalem Artichoke ice cream is a must try.

The terrible rating isn’t for the food, unfortunately we never got the chance to taste anything. All we experienced was rude and entitled members of staff. Table booked for 8, received a voicemail at 19:30 telling me the restaurant was running 15-20 minutes late- no problem, I thought. We arrived at restaurant at 20:20 to see a queue of people, turns out they were waiting for their tables too. It’s tiny inside and cramped, I felt incredibly sorry for the diners who were finishing their meals with people stood all around them. It was awkward and and not a pleasant dining experience. 20:40- we were still not seated, offered no reason or apology so I decided to cancel the reservation, when I told the waiter he became rude, arrogant and entitled- accusing me of telling him how to do his job, moaning he was doing 14hr shift, blaming the planned engineering works. Instead of holding his hands up, admitting it was their fault, he just argued. 64 Degrees was on my restaurant list, such a disappointment- they have clearly got too big for their boots and think they are untouchable. Well they are not! Keep this level of service up and they will go under very quickly. Fortunately, I knew of a little but amazing Spanish restaurant just around the corner who know how to treat customers. One last thing for the head-chef, Michael Bremner- this wouldn’t happen at Etch!

Not sure why this has such good reviews. Music, atmosphere and service was all pretty good but the food was poor. Some weird fish sausage that almost made us gag. Fillet of beef which was badly cooked. Flavour lacking in all the 6 dishes we had. Nice place and staff but the cooking needs a lot of work to be on a par with Flinthouse or Burnt Orange.

Disappointing experience. Due to the restaurant being very small, tables are sat right in door way, which meant my legs were cold throughout. Perhaps blankets could be supplied? Mentioned to the waiter that my plate was chipped. On changing it he said they were in short supply and £30 per plate. Don't really see the relevance of his comment, especially in a fine dining restaurant. Food was nice but very small portions and nothing to make me recommend or think to give it another try.

64 degrees is a small and quite hidden restaurant, fail to pay attention and you could easily walk past it. Upon entry we were greeted casually by who I assume was the owner, he was discrete, attentive and highly professional. After having our coats taken we were presented with with 2 menus (a la carte and a set menu at £50 per head). We chose the set menu comprising of 9 small courses. We had the option of seating at at conventional tables or at a bar surrounding the kitchen, where it is possible to observe the chefs skillfully and meticulously prepare each dish with artistic flair. What was notable about the menu, for us, was it's diversity and originality. Whilst there was a wait between each dish it was qualified by the care taken to prepare each. We were highly reassured to discover that for the larger part each dish tasted as good as it looked, in fact sometimes even better! It was my birthday and to my surprise, and without fanfare, the management presented us both with a complementary glass of wine selected to compliment our desserts. The 9 courses were served over a period of approximately two and a half hours. We appreciate that excellence can't be rushed and it was our pleasure to watch people work when they are invested in their art. It also helped that the music playing in the background was tasteful and un-encroaching on casual-conversation. We felt that the emphasis of the restaurant was on quality and flavour both of which were successfully delivered with originality and creativity. Personally, I also prefer sober-professionality and care over affectation, if I wanted obsequiousness I'd go to a corporate franchise. The whole experience was one of ardency and conscientiousness. I'll be returning when I can.

Went here for a 10th Anniversary celebration, for which recognition of this milestone was given on arrival. Coincidentally it is also the tenth anniversary of the restaurant as well! What an experience! Superb! We have had the good fortune to dine in many establishments around the world. I can truly say we have never experienced the intimacy of service at “the pass” as we did on this night. Arrived 15 minutes early and offered any seat in the house. Chose the pass and seated within “splash” distance of Chef Bremner! No splashes however but to witness “plating” live was outstanding! Also the to see and hear the instruction/advice given to the upcoming chefs was inspiring! Served by all the chefs with explanations to what was about to be consumed. In all honesty we were hoping for a tasting menu with a wine flight. Advised earlier about a change to “small plates” menu. Do not be put off because this is in essence a tasting menu created by you! The plates are not small but ideal for two to share. I can go into detail about what we had but I don’t have the vocabulary to convey how delicious everything was. Cocktails were properly made with correct proportions erring on the good side of strong! I alluded to not mentioning about the food but being an avid carnivore, I have to mention the mushroom croquettes, WOW!!!! To conclude, one the best experiences to be had, whilst not cooked in nitrogen in outer space and sprinkled in moon dust, it is great wholesome food in an intimate environment, cooked by one of the best Chef’s on the planet! Was really looking forward to eating here with friends and, although the food was great, the service was dreadful. The timings of the dishes meant that we had to rush our food and we were also refused a drink because they needed the table for their next guests. The way we were spoken to made us feel like we’d done something wrong. If you’re going to serve a set menu, then perhaps giving guests more time would be a good idea.

What an amazing experience. It’s like food theatre! We first came to 64 degrees shortly after it opened in 2013-14 and I always remember it being an exceptional experience, with the best quality food. I have always wanted to come back and I cannot believe that we have left it so long. I came here today with my partner for a surprise treat. And what a treat it was. We decided to go for the set menu/sharing plates at £45pp (plus drinks!). This was amazing value with outstanding dishes, constantly being served up. The food was delicious and of the highest quality but it really was down to the owner, Michael Bremner and all the other staff, including commis chef Carnac and restaurant manager Chris who made the whole experience so unforgettable with their attention to detail. From making one off cocktails to match what we wanted to delivering the best dishes but also explaining all about how they put it together. So for me, being a real foodie, it was fantastic and inspiring. If you want to have a great meal out but also feel like you’re at the theatre, this is definitely the place to visit. We decided to sit at the kitchen bar area where you can watch the chefs and talk to them plus other diners which was a great experience but you could have a table and be more intimate & discrete, if preferred. When i asked for a cheeky selfie with chef/owner (and Great British Menu winner), Michael Bremner, he said for us to come into the kitchen area for a group photo. What an amazing experience and a great guy! I am purely speechless and have no other words. We will not be leaving it so long next time FOR SURE!!! It really is the best restaurant in Brighton. See photos for full experience.

This restaurant are running off previous good reviews, as our experience was no where near what it was cracked up to be. The service was uninspiring and inconsistent. The wine list on their website is nothing at all like their wine list in the restaurant. The food was a joke. Tiny portions of tasteless food claiming to be Michelin star. To be honest I could have cooked most of it myself in my own kitchen. Two of the dishes came with the same side of diced tomatoes. The only good dish was the mushroom croquettes. We didn’t stay for dessert as we couldn’t wait to leave. Over £100 down the drain, and we didn’t even get asked how our meal was. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Daylight robbery.

A nice, if slightly underwhelming, experience. Recently changed to small plates and we thought quality of food did not match up to prices charged. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was nice. We stared with focaccia which was slightly stale (not what you would expect for a fine dining type restaurant). The octopus was nicely flavoured, well presented but over cooked. Pork belly was spot on. The pheasant was slightly undercooked we thought. Cauliflower again was presented and flavoured well but was essentially raw. Although the service was good it felt slightly odd having 3 different waiters as well as each course being delivered by a different chef, one waiter would give a better experience I think. A few improvements here and there and this would be a top restaurant!

A friend and I had a wonderful experience trying out the tasting menu last night at 64 degrees. The food was impeccable, the service was absolutely wonderful and I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. The wines they picked for each course really complemented the food - I’ve never been a white wine fan but I was introduced to some beautiful wines which I plan to order for myself at home. I visited with my friend who’s vegan and there were plenty of options for her too. There’s an open feel at the restaurant where you can see the chefs preparing the dishes, and lots of natural light from the window at the front and side of the restaurant. The only areas of improvement - while the food is incredible, I would say the portions in the tasting menu are very small. Even though there are a lot of courses, I wasn’t entirely full when I left and got more food elsewhere later that night. The restaurant has great ambience but as it’s small, they must make sure that the tables are free for future reservations. While this can’t be helped, we did feel a little rushed at the end. But due to the amazing service, we were willing to overlook this. Great service and wonderful experience. I definitely recommend for those who want to come and try the tasting menu. But I’d suggest maybe having some snacks beforehand or after the meal so you are full satiated.

64 Degrees is superb. The restaurant offers seating in the restaurant area or counter-level dining, where the chefs prepare the food in front of you. The chefs were cool and calm under pressure and the front of house staff were very friendly. The menu changes frequently depending on what is in season and we were even given extra "surprises" that were not on the menu. The food itself was excellent, with each dish being individual, but equally as tasty as the last. My only niggly issue was that the cocktails we ordered did not have any garnish. It would have been nice to see three coffee beans in the espresso martinis and a raspberry in the kir royales. However, they tasted fine and this in no way deters from the wonderful tasting menu - I highly recommend!

We all know that Covid-19 has caused problems for restaurants, but if the answer is to do what this venue does, and it’s not cheap, then I just don’t see the point in going. Was the food good? Yes, though the interesting dishes were so rapidly served it didn’t give you anytime to contemplate them. I understand the economics but they should either start the first sitting at 17.00pm, or not have the second sitting. And if that is not economical for them, don’t bother. They are not that damn good. Food great and interesting, if a little fussy. Very reasonable wine list. Friendly, though not particularly professional, service. But it was like watching a good film on fast-forward.

We went for set taster lunch and matching wines. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Faultless and creative cooking, beautifully presented, and all perfectly balanced. The meal as a whole flowed so well, and the wine pairings were spot on. Great to see some very original pairings too. Worth every penny. Will definitely return.!

What a fabulous foodie extravaganza we had last night at this restaurant. Tiny little place, relaxed atmosphere and probably one of the most delicious tasting menus we have ever had and we’ve had a few! We did feel a little rushed but that is understandable when trying to do twoSittings during the 10pm COVID closing rules. You really must go here if in the area, worth every penny. Thanks also to the staff fir wearing their masks properly throughout the whole meal, made us feel very safe.

The food was lovely but the experience could have been better, it was a very casual and quick service, they briefly explained the course to us, the flight of wine was too small. I'd recommend getting your own bottle. Lovely staff. Not quiet what we were expecting for the money.

We did the 5:45pm slot, which meant we did the tasting menu with accompanying wine/drinks in just under 2 hours (bill paid and out the door by 7:40pm). We completely appreciate that COVID restrictions mean a quick and efficient turnaround is required to get two sittings in per evening, and we were prepared for a swift-ish meal, but overall we came away feeling somewhat disappointed, with the rushed nature of the sitting making everything feel very transactional. Really not that engaging. We have this week also done the tasting menu at Set, which was fantastic (although it was a full 6pm - 10pm sitting) - perhaps we are unfairly comparing the two (although, both are at similar price points). Some really good dishes in the set, but many felt somewhat gastro pub-esque - nothing particularly creative or adventurous, apart from the appetisers and the pork cheek, which were standouts. The wine parings was, in our opinion, the most disappointing thing, with very small glasses and little to no explanation per drink. We felt, for the price, it was poor value for money (we estimate we got 350ml - 400ml across 6 semi-decent wines for c. £45). Overall, lovely people and a nice setting, with some interesting items, but not necessarily the best value for money (in our opinion). We appreciate COVID rules make things tricky when trying to fit in 2 sittings, but we felt more could be done to make the experience more engaging. The wine pairings, in our opinion, needs a rethink.

When we arrived we thought we were at the wrong place, tiny place with 3 tables and I think about 6 seats at the bar.!! I’d seen chef bremner on Britain’s best menu a few years ago where he won the main course, so when I knew he had a place in Brighton I at to try. I realised he wasn’t really bothered about Michelin stars as this place is very quirky and personal but quite bar like. The chefs cook everything in front of u which is great to see these masters at work . The food is decent it was a 10 course tasting menu. I thought there was a few to many fish dishes, but loved the lobster and the chicken dishes. The deserts were great to. We paid for the extra drinks with courses, but was a little disappointed, had far to many white wines, even when the beef brisket came out. And one very sweet red wine. I was often left without a drink and ended up having to buy gin and tonics so I wasn’t left with nothing. The drinks bill alone was 195.00 and I really didn’t think the wines was worth it. We got roughly 6 small glasses of wine each for that. In other places your glass is never empty and the wines are very good. All in all not a bad meal .

Booked for weekday lunch - probably don't need to book midweek, off season. Sat on bar stools by kitchen. Fascinating watching food being prepared and chefs' explanations. Bar stools not very comfortable. But the food ... wow! Really unusual flavour combinations that worked incredibly well (e.g. crab with toasted hazelnuts). 2 of us had 5 fish/veggie/meat dishes, then tiramisu and chocolate truffles. Highly recommend the prawn taco. Delicious apple sorbet as palate-cleanser. Truffles were expensive at £4 for 2 small chocolates. Efficient service, and dishes well-spaced. Bill for 2, with 2 beers and glass of fizz was c. £110. Will definitely return - a meal to remember.

We went with friends as wanted to try it out. Well firstly do not go if you are hungry. The Food is served on small plates for you to share and looks amazing. They push the sharing idea and when there’s 4 of you and 3 items turn up on a plate that to me makes it awkward, why not give 4 so at least each person can have one. Flavours on most dishes were good, but when you are sharing you are literally having 1, maybe 2 small mouthfuls of each dish. We’ve dinned at a variety of restaurants some inexpensive to expensive but for me you just didn’t get good value for money. It’s not cheap and I’m sure some people would find it amazing and worth every penny, but for me I wouldn’t go back.

64 Degrees is one of the very few restaurants I would consider "fine dining" in Brighton. It prices itself as such, and certainly delivers. The concept of an open kitchen and interacting with the chefs is lovely, so always aim for a seat at the bar, as these are by far the best in house (the tables are just a tad cramped for my taste).

What a great experience. I think it was around 9 courses in total and every single one was gorgeous, obviously some more than others. Highlights were the Prawn Taco, Veal Sweetbread, and Pumpkin Pistachio desert. Even the bread and butter was sensational - and the wine wasn’t too overly priced either which was refreshing (try the Greek Orivatis if you like a light dry, minerally white). Definitely going back again when we’re in town next.
