Ameen's Restaurant in Leeds

I've just had food delivered from Ameen's for the first time. It was way better than anything I've had locally before. The delivery driver, who I suspect was not only the driver encouraged me to leave a review, even if it was a bad one, so i'll start with the onion bhajis, which did not have the fresh crispness I like, and were quite compressed. However they tasted delicious and if I bought one to eat as a snack on the street I'd be really happy. my main course vegetable garlic balti was just sublime, clearly freshly cooked and not overcooked, with a garlic coriander naan where the coriander seemed like it had just been picked. my meat eating friend was very happy too. I will definitely become a regular. Easy five stars.

We've been here twice recently and can't fault the place Its family run and you can tell the food is great the menu extensive and all served up by very attentive and friendly staff that can't do enough to make your visit a pleasant experience One of our party thought the fish curry was the best he's tried anywhere Its also take your own Alcohol which helps to keep the cost down that said the prices are very reasonable anyway Leave your car in the nearby Car Park of Horsforth Park and its just a short walk to a very nice meal Go and give it a try you won't be dissapointed

Brilliant family run business! Amazing, friendly and personal customer service by Ash and his brother, and gorgeous food by his father and assistant chefs all in a lovely refurbed decor setting in Horsforth park. Food tasted great, and there were plenty of it for the price, value for Money! Great that you can do bank transfer too as I hate having cash. We don’t go out for Indian food often but will deffo return!

Really nice place, bringing your own drinks cuts down the costs, food quality looks amazing but the "we make everything by hand, if you have an allergy let us know" turned out to be false and lead to me not being able to eat anything other than an omelette...very disappointing. Could not adjust to a common food allergy, will not be going back. The omelette was decent and the curries smelled amazing but no experience of the taste so cannot comment.

Used the woodland car park which was close to the restaurant. We had not booked but as it was a week day night it was not a problem. The building is an old council building but gave off a feeling of a rather large lodge and was very clean and fresh. Service was excellent and the waiter was very helpful and pleasant to talk with, he was very proud of the business he and his family had built. Through COVID. The food was exquisite and tasty. Would I return? OH YES

Lovely meal and great service. All the food is made fresh so can be altered to suit dietary requirements. I had the chana aloo chat, the veg balti hydrabady (without yoghurt) and bhindi bhaji with a tandoori roti. The balti was very tasty, lovely spices so flavourful but not too hot.

Fantastic family run restaurant. Excellent friendly service who took the time to explain and recommend dishes. The chicken puri was fantastic and easily one of the best I have had. Some good unique dishes

Great food, nice and quiet most of the week, but still great even when it’s busy on a Saturday evening. Quieter times are nice because you can have a natter with the staff. The chicken handi is excellent, but the hottest and tastiest the garlic chilli chicken balti. 👌🏻👌🏻 BYOB, so don’t forget to go to the shop first. The mango lassi is a winner. I would highly recommend Ameens for a sit-down curry or a quick takeaway on the way home.

An excellent evening, food was delicious, good portion sizes and service very friendly. There was decent quality and generous amount of lamb in the lamb & spinach balti, and the liver tikka starter was particularly tasty. Can't wait to go back when it gets a bit lighter to enjoy the view of the park while I eat.

What an absolute fantastic find! We ate here with our 2 children and honestly couldn't fault it. Fantastic food, great price, and the server was amazing. He went into detail about some history on the building and how it's now family run. When he came to check if we were enjoying the food, he noticed my son struggling with the heat (spice) of his curry, he immediately offered to take it and cool it down with some yoghurt, all the curries are made from scratch so can be adapted anyway you like it. The family naan bread was a real treat absolutely huge and fresh tasting! Will definitely be returning. There are few points to hopefully help. You can pay by card, but it's easier to have cash handy for tips! It also "bring your own bottle" but they have a good selection of soft drinks.

Went for Xmas dinner with friends & their family and was really nice. Plenty of food, waiters were on the ball and made everyone welcome and was a really happy atmosphere. Food was good and there was plenty and you could choose whatever curry dish you wanted. Hopefully will be there again next year but will definitely be there again very soon. Thank you.

This place is the best for curry in horsforth bring your own alcoholic drink because they do not serve it but dont bring soft drinks i would not rate it lower because of how good this place is

My friend Charlotte and I came here for a delightful evening meal. We were first to arrive, so had our choice of seats. We got to sit right by the window, which was a real treat, as we were able to watch the planes on their descent to Leeds Bradford Airport. The service was really quick and the guy serving us was super friendly. We started off with poppadoms, followed by a family garlic and coriander naan which was gorgeous! I had the balti special which was lovely, while my friend had another type of balti dish. She has had more Curries than you've had hot dinners, so for her to enjoy this place is huge news! One of the best Curries I've had in the Horsforth area I would say.

I have been ordering from Ameens for a good few years now. Although this time round the portion size has reduced significantly unfortunately. Bit disappointed. (curry / sides)

A lovely restaurant,excellent food and lovely staff. All 4 of our party enjoyed their meals. First time we have been but we will definitely return. Don’t be put off by the look of the restaurant outside (which doesn’t look particularly clean and tidy),inside is very clean and nicely set out,not too squashed in. Definitely worth a visit.

Ameen’s restaurant, discreetly located in Hall Park is a gem for excellent food, good service and valuable conversation with the staff. Cash only, bring your own alcohol and highly recommended.

We had a fabulous meal here! As group of 6, every single one of us commented on how delicious the food was - and it really was, with good sized portions too. The restaurant was quiet as it was mid-week, but still a pleasant atmosphere with wonderful views out across Horsforth Hall Park. Inside, the restaurant is clean and well presented. I particularly like that the reception area is separate to the main dining area, which means diners are not interrupted by people who are collecting take away orders. Staff were friendly and attentive - without being overbearing - and made us feel welcome and relaxed. This will be our new go-to for curry!!

This place is quite disappointing. Such a lovely position overlooking the park, but the decor is very dated, with average service and food and fairly high prices for it, with cash only option. The best part is the huge family naan that comes on a spike, but that and the location aren't really enough.

A great hidden gem in the heart of Horsforth. Freshly cooked home made food and very good service. Must try if you like Indian food

I found the restaurant while i am in Horsforth park. The restaurant view is very nice and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant 👍

We called to book our table beforehand and it was great to be told on the phone straightaway that the Restaurant was cash only and BYOB, rather than waiting to find out upon arrival. The service was great, the waiter was fantastic! Really good food and great value for money!!

Lovely sunny early summers evening, what better way to enjoy it than sat in Ameen’s chatting to the wonderful Arman whilst enjoying yet more gorgeous food from the extensive menu. We’ve visited here many times, during these lovely evenings in summer being a particular favourite whilst enjoying the wonderful views across Horsforth Hall Park just round the corner from home. Greeted warmly as always on arrival, we opted for starters of Mixed Tikka Sizzler and Chicken Tikka Sizzler. Mains of Lamb Balti Rogan Josh and Chicken Balti Achar with a side of Pilau rice and the usual Peshwari naan. Following our lengthy catch up with Arman, the starters arrived beautifully presented and steaming hot on the skillet. As is the norm both dishes were polished off with relish and plates retuned to the kitchen gleaming. After a short interval again the mains were delivered hot to the table and were delicious. My Rogan Josh flavoursome and packed with succulent chunks of lamb. Sue’s Achar was also enjoyed immensely with only a small portion being left to fill the doggy bag to accompany us back home. Rice light and fluffy whilst the naan remains the best Peshwari we enjoy anywhere, well stocked with fruit and nuts, drizzled with honey, an absolute triumph of a naan! So once again then a thoroughly enjoyable evening with our friends here at Ameen’s. Good to see it was quite busy even though it was early evening. Look forward to returning once again in the not too distant future. Visited 7th April @ 6.30

Ameen’s restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in Horsforth Park. I’m a regular, but went on a Friday work’s night out. As usual the service from the guys was second to none and the food from starter to main course was delicious and flavoursome. In fact, my work colleagues said it was the best curry they’d ever tasted and the garlic naan was to die for! We’ll definitely be back and soon!

Another visit to armeens tonight.nothing to complain about again.if you haven't tried it yet give it a go.the food is beautiful .we go to India a lot and its as good as some of there's. The manager Arman and all his staff are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble for them to make sure you have a good evening

Bit of an odd one with it being in the middle of the park. An 80's vibe going on with the decor and likely to have been when it was last decorated . The food is reasonable. It's a traditional Indian restaurant. The big plus point is that it's BYOB! Service was very good.

Service was a bit poor but they were understaffed. Nice staff but it was a bit of a farce this particular evening.

Very happy that we started ordering here. The food seems to be consistent, and it’s very tasty. The food can be on the spicy side but personally I love that. They use spices/seasonings very well, so they everything has a kind of warm richness.

Absolutely lovely, We went as a group of 26 on NYE the staff were great organised,all food came out together no missed meals or late ones! Super polite and helpful. Food was delicious. Chef came out at the end to ask if everything was ok. Super pleased and definitely be going again soon. Highly recommend.

My dining companion and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Ameen's on Christmas Day. This was our first visit. The food, the service and the setting (in the middle of Horsforth Hall Park) were all excellent. Special thanks for the care taken over my friend's egg allergy - nothing was any trouble for the staff. All-in-all, great value for money, and we shall definitely be making a return visit.

Fab meal, a bit understaffed but that excusable when the business climate is so precarious. Advice would be to get more experienced front of house that can see their tables rather than be around the corner not facing. The layout doesn’t help manage the takeaway business with the restaurant customers needs. Overall through fab food and really should be supported as a new business

First time dining at Ameens. A lovely location in horsforth park, light airy with lovely views. The food was beautiful, service was exceptional, the waiter helped me with choosing my dish and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend Ameens, away from the high street restaurants, but well worth it. Give them a try for yr next Indian meal. Thankyou to all concerned.

Amazing restaurant, amazing food, amazing staff. Been a few times and the food is always spot on. The staff are friendly and professional. Great location in horsforth park. There is no licence so you can not get alcohol but they let you take your own. They sell soft drinks. Easily accessible up a ramp. They are happy to accommodate a dish to your liking if you don't like things to spicy. They also offer a take away service with collection or delivery. Will be back again soon.

Just had a delicious meal at this family run restaurant, in Hall Park in a beautiful location. All food is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises, and they have an extensive competitively priced menu. By far exceeds other better known restaurants.

Lovely restaurant overlooking Horsforth Park. Fantastic range of dishes on the menu and staff are flexible about altering things if you ask. Waiting staff friendly and attentive, also very knowledgeable if you need recommendations. This is now run by a family after being taken over in the pandemic. Highly recommended

Fabulous service & food. Great view of the park. Really good value for money & genuinely nicer than so called posher places. Everywhere is spotlessly clean too. We'll be coming again. The seekh kebabs are the best in the area by a mile!

It was a bad day at the office for the chef as food wasn't great however, it won't stop me from going back. Service was great as always. Would definitely recommend the mango lasso. Yum!

Me and my partner went for a random cheeky curry and this place definitely did not disappoint. I got a lamb dhansak, pilau rice, chips and everything was so flavourful and yummy. Do note this place was CASH only. Interior was nice and new too! Will definitely be coming back

Just ordered a balti rogan josh with chicken asked for it not to hot. The young lad on reception was very helpful. When I got home I was very disappointed the sauce had no base it looked like it had curdle, the chicken had no flavour the pepper's and onions where not cooked. I was really looking forward to a good curry especially after all the good reviews. Will try again one day ☹

We have just had a amazing family meal. The waiters were fantastic. The food was outstanding. We had such large portions we took food home with us. Highly recomend this restaurant and especially the garlic nan. Thank you to all the staff for a really enjoyable evening. Can't wait to visit again.

Lovely young manager,very pleasant and friendly. Place was small and neat. The food was okay-ish but they are a fairly new establishment and hopefully will improve with time. Will probably give it another try in 6 months for check on improvement in food quality as we like to give new businesses a chance to improve before writing them off from our 'go to restaurants' 🙂

Food was barely edible, with tough chicken and gloopy, over cooked sauce. Part of the order was missing, which when we called was dealt with in a chaotic way. The promise to deliver the missing parts of the order took 30 minutes by which time the main order was already in the bin. Definitely wouldn't reorder or recommend.

Tried Ameen's for the first time last night and the overall experience was 5 star. Great service and freindly staff, food was amazing, and it was very reasonably priced. The restaurant had a very good atmosphere, probably one of the most pleasant meals out I've had in a very long time. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

The food was delicious and worthy of 5 stars but sadly the place itself is in need of some renovation, prime location with lovely views over park the place needs updating for sure but hey don't let that put you off the food and service was fabulous, no drinks licence but you can take your own, in these desperate times for small businesses surport if you can you won't be disappointed with the food 👍

New to Horsforth and was recommended to try Ameens and we were certainly not disappointed. We had the sizzler for 2 which had a great selection off starters, all of which tasted delicious. Ordered the garlic chicken chilli for mains and was told by the gentleman who took our order that it was really spicy and he kindly suggested if we’d like it slightly less spicy. Cannot fault the curry one bit plus the strength spot on. Overall, excellent food and service we will definitely be back Ameens
