Anjuna Lounge in Birmingham

Me and a group of friends came here on a Sunday afternoon to relax following a 12 hour event the previous day and we all had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, as were the staff, who were all extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone commented on how nice the food was, and I personally loved my chickpea curry. I stay hundreds of miles away but certainly hope to make it back again sometime!

Great night. Only went for drinks but such lovely friendly staff. Great music. Food smelled delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Went on 23rd December with 5 others and our 5 year old granddaughter. Ibraham and staff were fantastic. Looked after our granddaughter with lemonade cocktails and gingerbread with complimentary pakora for the adults. Beer was first class too. Really enjoyed the evening. Definitely going there again. Thank you very much.

Wonderful chilled place. The best IPA on tap. Very affordable street food. Laid back atmosphere with relaxing tunes. Going back for more yummy food and cocktails. Stirchleys best kept secret.

Delicious food. Great music. Had some leftovers after our meal (we were full) and the owner offered to replace and bring us something different to eat for free!!! Very friendly. Highly recommended.

This place has a really lovely friendly atmosphere. My friend and I were welcomed as soon as we walked in. The beer is good, the food is great value and absolutely delicious, and the service is wonderful! Well worth a visit.

This place needs to have it's moment on the Stirchley food map! We had the chole and dhal with a side of sev puri. Everything was absolutely delicious. The rice was beautifully flavoured (tasted like home) and the paratha flaky and morish. It was all so affordable and the staff were lovely too!

Excellent Indian street food in a pleasant atmosphere. The service is very friendly but a little slow: we had to move the car because it was in a one-hour parking space.

Awesome spot! My wife and family attended on the weekend, it was great. Cant recommend this place enough! Owner and staff were so friendly. They even provided some toys and games to keep the kids occupied whilst we sampled the cocktails! Hehe they were delicious.

Lovely vegetarian Indian Café. Great food, great selection of drinks, warm welcoming efficient staff. Not sure what to have? have the Ajuna Thali for two. A great selection of many dishes like an Indian Tapas.

Worst place ever, there's a nasty man over there who is really aggressive and descriminates people. The owner of the place is that person, never again will any of my friends and families will go there, waste of time because the place is full of idiots taking drugs.

Local gem. Every time I’ve been here the staff have been lovely, the food exceptional (and great value for money) and the music taste good too!! Highly highly recommend.

I had a take away from here especially the order taker was good in explaining the dishes and she’s trying her best to give her best service to all felt like she’s alone in the restaurant making coffees etc when it comes to my food ordered for take away I’ve had couple of dishes especially with the thalli they missed pappadms and chutney …the rest of the food was fine ..Chana masala curry, Samosa chat both tastes the same…

This was a fab place, chilled, lovely cocktails and a really lovely person serving. The food was delicious, the best I've ever tasted. Fries, pakora and samosa. Definitely recommend and the open mic group were good too.

Lovely drinks at a reasonable price. Partner said the coffee was one of the best he had tried. I popped in for cocktails in the evening too and the drinks were just as nice, great value. Quite a big venue (by Stirchley standards!) so you can usually guarantee getting a table, and great for larger groups. The staff are really genuine and friendly and make you feel well looked after.

Well, Google says "temporarily closed"* but I'm here and having a good time - especially my little snack (which reminds me so much of my time spent in India). Great (and warm) place to be on a cold and damp December afternoon. I wonder if this is the closest place to Bournville you can get a drink on a Sunday afternoon (Cadbury = Quakers = No pubs or bars or off-licences in the village)? *Seems to be taking a long time to fix.

A very pleasant cafe/restaurant. It has a nice, relaxed atmosphere and was tastefully decorated for Christmas when we visited. Staff were friendly. I was a bit disappointed with the cake I chose as it was a bit lacking in taste and a bit dry too. I can't comment whether this is the standard of the fare offered. There is a range of drinks on offer. I would visit again.

Great atmosphere, took my nan for a coffee on a Sunday evening around 4:30/5pm and it was lovely. Not too busy and not too loud for her so was easily able to hear me (which she usually struggles to so if we go out somewhere). Drinks were lovely and not too expensive either, thank you!

Anjuna Lounge catered our wedding reception earlier this year. The team prepared an amazing Indian buffet for 120 guests... we were still getting compliments about the food weeks after the party! I would recommend Anuja Lounge if you're looking for an Indian buffet for a special event.

Was very quiet for a Saturday night when we went in. Was getting on for around 9pm so I was expecting there to be a few in there. As it was my wife and I made it to a total of 4 inside. There may have been some more in the beer garden. Wasn't too into the trance/house music playing in the background (I love it in the right environment - don't get me wrong). Didn't seem appropriate somehow and didn't create a vibe that was fitting imho. I think some more commercial stuff like UB40 started playing a little later. That said, the ice cream IPA was very nice and even though I was technically outside kitchen hours, they were more than happy to make me one of those famous pakora burgers. I was so happy that they did as it was magic! The fries that come with too are next level and I didn't get many of them as my wife took quite a liking to them too. Overall, very pleasant service, fab food and beer. Would go again however, probably only stay for 1 if the trance is playing again.

This place is great. Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink on a saturday afternoon - very unique selection of craft beer at very good prices and delicious food (nothing on the menu is over about £8 which I was very impressed by). Friendly staff and great atmosphere too. We will be back!

Always make the most lovely coffee and hot chocolate. Dairy alternatives available. The samosas are very tasty :-) Update 04.04.22 having a wonderful chai latte, fries and samosa. The food and service here is always great :) would recommend

Perfect addition to stirchley high street - mixing it up with an amazing menu, activities, CBD tea! and top level drinks while keeping all the important dog friendly and baby friendly aspects. Bring on the summer for sunny outdoor Anjuna lunches.

Nice place and atmosphere, however the food is disappointing. Limited menu which is over priced for what it is. Seems like most of the food is cooked in a simple george foreman - hence comes out squashed! Good drinks and friendly staff but the chef needs upskilling!

Food that's both original and genuinely tasty, love the rotating menu! Good range of drinks, the Anjuna chai is the best I've tasted in a long while. The fully recyclable takeaway stuff (including the cup lids) is a very thoughtful touch too.

Me and partner went there this evening. We had the pakora burgers with fries and a couple of mocktails. The food was divine. Best meal I've had in a long time. Portions were very generous and it's extremely good value for money. I'd happily pay more if I'm being honest. The staff were very friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.

A very small menu, but well worth it, the food is so flavoursome. The saffron infused biryani was amazing and the pakora burger and massala fries the same. Definitely worth a visit

Stopped in to get out of the heat today. Had a few mocktails and a strawberry margarita. Yummy. We also ordered the Anjuna fries to nibble on. OMG there is something addicting to those fries. They are a MUST eat when you come in!

Came across this place by luck! Love the outdoor courtyard, such a colourful and cozy space to chill out. Staff were very warm and friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable when it started raining. Small menu with daily specials, tasty food and cake! Great to support local family-run businesses, would definitely recommend and come back to hear their live music

I’ve just tried the coconut daal from Anjuna Lounge. It was absolutely incredible - so much flavour, it was very filling and the crispy onions and pumpkin seeds on top gave a nice texture. Looking forward for lockdown to be lifted and dine in!

I really love this place, I've been a few times. They have a south Indian inspired daily menu which is very reasonably priced. The coffe is great and they also have a licence so you could have a tipple. I believe they open till 8pm on a Saturday so you could go for a cheap evening meal then go to the other stirchley night spots nearby. I really hope the business can get through the current COVID situation because I think what the owners are trying to do here is different to what is available in the area and the food and service is fantastic.

Lovely coffee shop and cafe in Stirchley serving some of the nicest homecooked Indian food I've ever tasted! The coconut dhaal and the samosa chaats are outrageous. Will be back!

Fantastic little coffee shop at the bottom of Stirchley high street. The owners/barristers were friendly, engaging and welcoming; talking about the site as well as their plans on the phased recovery of post-lockdown. Definitely returning to try their curry options when the kitchen re-opens. Must visit.

Excellent place to enjoy a laid back curry in a bit of style. really high quality curries and fresh squeezed juices to wash it down. Very gorgeous plating designs and their dessert bars are really to die for!

Really lovely place. Being local I was really looking forward to this opening. When I finally went I wasn't disappointed. The staff are universally lovely and helpful. Their coffees and teas are great; I had a couple of their own blend chai drinks and both were lovely. I had a toastie (which doesn't sound adventurous but they added their own little twist) and it was absolutely gorgeous. I have 3-4 others who have gone and I have heard nothing but praise for it.
