A lovely restaurant with great food and service. 4 of us went for lunch recently and ordered from the set lunch menu for £27.99pp which we all felt was great value. All of the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

9 of us went here for a dinner, service was fantastic the guy serving us was brilliant, he was really good crack. The food Ia outstanding we got to share so many starters and then choose a main for only 27.95 each, huge portions and all cooked so fresh. When we were leaving the gentleman that dealt with us on the night gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy, to say thank you. Highly recommend this place they really value their customers. Very tasty food we will all be back. Thank you again

Gorgeous atmosphere as soon as you enter the door, very welcoming staff and the decor is stunning, the place is well decorated in theme. The staff and service were second to none and the food was gorgeous with a great value. I hope to see this place get more busy with time as it would be well deserved!

Na dagen Schotse cuisine was het eten bij Aspendos een welkome verrassing. Heerlijke frisse Turkse keuken, goede porties, alle gerechten zorgvuldig bereid, kruidig en precies goed. Service was super, de gastheer bediende alleen het hele restaurant, maar gaf iedereen voldoende aandacht. Wat heeft die man hard gewerkt! Wij vonden het echt super!

The service is nasty, the staff was disrespectful and needs a course in hospitality. Left the restaurant halfway due to the rude staff and bad service. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Expensive, though the food was nice and portions were good. The service from the manager however was not good. Firstly he attempted to pressure the table into ordering more food when we were wanting to share (and if this was within the busy season, based on other reviews I'm sure he would have asked us to leave). Secondly he doubled down on this by saying that it's not possible to order more food after (I have never heard of this in any restaurant). Thirdly he was condescending when asking questions about the menu items.

Brilliant food. Great atmosphere. Book in advance. For large groups ask the owner to just give you a selection, you will not be disappointed.

Extremely welcoming staff and quick service - there were five of us and we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for our meals. Everything was perfectly prepared and wonderfully flavourful. There is quiet music and tasteful decor, overall a 5/5 experience.

Stopped here after every restaurant’s kitchen in town was closed past 9pm. Our server was very friendly and helped us with the pronunciation of the dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. We had hummus, garlic dip, and minced lamb. Would highly recommend!

Great spot if you need a break from local fare

First time visiting here, recommend by friends. Its beautiful food, nicely presented and service was very polite and friendly. The sharing platter was perfect for six of us. Definitely will be back again.

Wonderful food and friendly staff! I was traveling solo and walked in without a reservation. They graciously accommodated me event though they were quite busy. I ordered the mixed grill (lamb and chicken) which comes with a delicious salad. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Super friendly staff and excellent food; great combination!

I read somewhere this was the best Turkish in the Highlands. I don't need to try the others to say this place was fantastic. We were a big, demanding group and we all left pleased. Incredible veggie options and cold Efes! Thanks for everything!

I'll try to be as neutral as I can be. Food is really delicious but the guy who was taking order was racist to core. I can read other giving same feedback. Luckily nothing towards, I was the only Asian in a group of European but I could easily see how his behavior was so different towards some other guests. It's just pity that such good food is getting bad name due to manager/owner. Not gonna come back to try my luck 🙃

This restaurant appeared in an old guidebook, so we went for a late lunch. Our appetizers were great! And my Lamb Adana was fresh and delicious. My husband’s grill lamb kabob was cooked perfectly! We’d go again!

Love the food here everytime, the atmosphere and the service is brilliant. Perfect spot for a date night or for a celebration. Knocking off a star however as you cannot dine here with children which is disappointing for those who love Turkish cuisine with families. Will return again for a date night or take out for kids to enjoy too.

I wish there was a way to rate something negative on Google. Asian woman has some serious behavioral issues and should not be working in hospitality industry. A place like this deserves to be closed and boycotted by everyone. I made a reservation for a party of 8 for dinner booked for dinner and was carrying our 2 month old. The woman misheard and offered us a spot for 7, and when I politely asked her to make room for another table, she quite aggressively muttered to her colleague, "They're trying to tell me what to do." My wife stepped in and requested a separate table for two of us with the baby but the lady kept ignoring and mumbling. She was so unkind that despite our repeated requests, she continued to ignore the baby in our arms even though the restaurant was obviously not busy. Then she went on to say “Woh WOW! they are telling me what to do?” And this time it loud and could be heard across the hall? Now you be the judge? should you be going to a restaurant which has employees with narcissistic personality?

We got the mixed grill with hummus and Turkish bread. Also got the veggie platter. Hummus was some of the best we’ve had. This is not the boozy party spot of nearby bar and grills. But the food is fantastic.

The mixed grilled and creamy mushroom chicken were both delicious, and the rice smelled great, wonder if it was cooked in chicken fat. But a main portion is a little small, not enough to eat!

Forced to command more than we wanted, the waiter was unpleasant because we didn't want to serve us if we didn't command more. Besides, the food was bland.

After many days in Scotland eating deep fried, just boiled and steamed food finally we ate something really cooked. Very tasty, the lamp was great and the chilly sauce was amazing. The sea bass was perfectly grilled and the kiofte also. Big portions enough for one person. Staff was very friendly and we had a really good conversation with the manager.

Very bad service! We wait 1 hour for the main courses. They serve other people first then us, not an happy experience at all. The food was ok but nothing special. The owner assume I don’t speak English seeing an Asian Face! How racist is him.

Not just the best Turkish food in the highlands, I daresay this is the best Turkish food outside of Türkiye! The meze's, the İskender kebab, the baklava are the standouts from my visit. If I had stayed in Inverness for another night I would've gone here again because it truly was an incredible meal and experience! The staff are also lovely people! Türkler, burayı kaçırmayın! Mustafa abi, herşey çok güzeldi!!!

Food is good (4.5/5). But unfortunately, for me customer service and BASIC manners are above food quality. Plain and simple , the manager , is racist. I wish I’ve had read the reviews before going to this restaurant. I can’t believe how many people complained in here about the manager being “ racist “. We were visiting Scotland for the first time from Qatar. Manager comments 1. “ my friend do you understand English “ even though I was the one who was struggling with his English 2. We celebrated my mother's 72nd birthday here last night. The manager was very welcoming, friendly and great with my mother. The food was delicious, I had the moussaka but everyone else said their food was also great. Would definitely recommend and will come back again.

Atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. Menu looked good but a little pricey. We weren't hungry so we only ordered starters and we were turned away by the person who looked like the owner/manager saying its too little and he can't do that. We decided to leave. Very disappointing considering there were only 4 other customers there.

Went here a few months ago food was good but rude service from the owner when we were asking simple questions. DON'T go here if you are Asian and expect good service, he will asume you are a Chinese tourist and thinks every asian is chinese apparently even if you clearly had a scottish accent!

Best turkish reastaurant in inverness

When I am in Inverness, I always make a stop at Aspendos!! The service is outstanding and the portions are filling and very flavorful. The staff makes you feel like family when you dine with them, and Mustafa and Mandy, the owners, happily share with you specific details about each dish to ensure you are happy with the meal and that your experience is worth every penny...I love these guys!!! We had the tapas menu on Saturday 28th January and it was delicious, amazing value and lovely wine. Staff were fantastic too, very friendly and welcoming.

The chicken one is not that good, but the mushrooms are really great and juicy :) However, worth to try. P2, I bet you’ve never try such delicious lamb!

International review: we've reviewed Turkish offerings in several countries now, so we qualify this review on the basis we have had both some of the best (and worst) food of Türkiye. Overall the offering was fine but overpriced for what it is. The food here is fine, we had the moussaka and the salmon (among others). The lamb was fine but for its price we were disappointed as the quality was what we'd expect from a much cheaper venue or even a street vendor. This is not to say it wasn't tasty, just not the best value and that's our general comment on the venue. The service was fine as well, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Having said the above if you are keen for this food it's probably the best Turkish that Inverness has on offer.

The restaurant boss has racist, and i think the steak is very hard to bite. Especially the creamy mushroom sauce needed extra £2.50 for another one. The boss suddenly said something about 52 Chinese people eat the chicken and then went away I am not sure is it like they didn’t pay or what, but I am British citizenship, is it because I am yellow skinned? I don’t know why he said that! He also said he doesn’t understand our English. Very bad to go!!!!! If you guys visit Inverness, don’t go this place!!! The restaurants boss wanted to fight with us!!!!

Excellent! We will come again next time we head north from Suffolk. Would thoroughly recommend. Good sized portions so you need to be hungry although we ate from the a la carte menu and didn't have starters. Great menu choices and you can do shared meals. 😀

I have had equally good or better Turkish food for half the price. So, Food here is not worth the price.!!! When you pay £20+ for a dish you expect it to be out of the world mind blowing. But it did not meet expectations.!!!

The food was good, especially the main. But I found the waitress rude. When I arrived she say the kitchen will close soon so I had to chose quickly. But she ignored me completely for a good amount of time when I was ready to order. Then when I finished the main, she took the empty dishes without even asking if I wanted something else, I had to ask if they were serving desserts. And in the end of my dinner she was drying cutlery (again completely ignoring me) and was putting them in a tray very noisily. At this moment I just wanted to leave the place as I hate noisy environments when I'm eating. Surely she should be trained or do another job. So good place for the food but need improvement on the service.

Sooooo delicious! After walking the West Highland Way and enjoying traditional Highland fare for about a week, we were excited to mix up our diets with Aspendos...and we made the right choice! We did the "group menu" and loved every single starter--all 8 starter dishes were vegetarian-friendly, and beyond flavorful. Staff were friendly, approachable, and funny--we felt very welcomed. I highly recommend Aspendos for a meal in Inverness!

Ended up getting sick from this food, didn’t agree with my system I guess. Everything seemed to have been cooked in an eggplant tasting base 🤢even the potatoes! Very astringent/acidic, and nothing is safe from causing heartburn. I didn’t think the attendants were very nice either. Even the orange juice was terrible.

Very rude guy, food is ok, not tasting real Turkish though, somewhat undercooked the lamb leg that I ordered. Was better just to finish our dinner and leave. In the end my wife got sick from the food and had to throw up, she didn’t even eat 1/4 of her food. We won’t come back.
