Balmoral Guest House in Darlington

I stayed here for one night on a recent business trip and was very impressed with the service. The owner picked me up from the nearby station and was a great host. I stayed in the self contained cottage and enjoyed a great night’s sleep. I also had the most wonderful omelette for breakfast. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

For doubting readers, this is not the Ritz, but it is not the Ritz prices either, i stayed there for two nights Sept 13th/14 as a solo guest while my husband had a small operation at one of the local Hospitals, it cost £25.00 per night room only, and really the top and bottom of it is, for the price it cannot be beaten, en suite single room, tea/coffee making facilities, clean and comfortable, i have paid much much more for a lot lot less, and the quality of the service was second to none, Nicola & Tom were relief management and they were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, even Tom took me and picked me up at visiting times at the hospital,,,,,,Thank you very much

Consejo #1: ahorrar tiempo y dinero y simplemente reservar aquí.Consejo #2: las habitaciones más tranquilas se encuentran en el anexo en la parte de atrás (aunque dormí pacíficamente en una habitación en la planta baja más recientemente)volví a la Balmoral seis meses después de mi primera visita. Una vez más una cordial bienvenida, y mi habitación era un enorme con baño en suite en la planta baja. La cama era muy cómoda y bastante cálido en lo que era un frío y lluvioso noche. Té y café en la habitación, aunque no uso de ellos.A la mañana siguiente tuve un delicioso desayuno y una vez más, elegimos el completamente fantástico strawberry pancake en preferencia a el desayuno inglés completo, junto con cereales, tostadas, zumo de naranja y café.A la hora de escribir me he hecho más de 50 comentarios de hoteles y ser&B, algunas de las cuales han sido excelentes. El Balmoral está en mi top 3 y estaría en mi top tres si me cobraron dos veces como mucho. Yo estaba en la zona visitando a un miembro de la familia que vive a 15 millas de distancia. Valió la pena ir en coche por la a 15 millas para alojarse en el Balmoral.

Nos alojamos en el anexo en la parte trasera de la casa y lo encontré muy espaciosas y limpias, con mucho espacio de almacenamiento. El baño era de buen tamaño con una ducha potente. El desayuno era excelente, con un montón de opciones de menú disponibles. Andrew y su esposa fueron muy amables y nos aseguramos de que nuestra estancia fuera lo más cómoda posible. El comedor era fantástica, con una alta atención al detalle. Yo recomendaría este hostal.

Yo estuve en el Anexo de esta maravillosa casa de huéspedes. Era muy cómodo, espacioso y cálido, con todo lo que necesitaba para mí. Servicio excelente, amable y profesional de todo el personal. Está en una ubicación muy conveniente para visitar Darlington y sus alrededores. Muy recomendado.

Andrew y el personal hace todo lo posible para hacer que te sientas bienvenido nada es demasiado problema. Andrew recoge desde la estación que es de gran ayuda. Las habitaciones están muy bien decoradas duchas caliente y muy limpio. Delicioso desayuno servido por el personal muy agradable. A un precio razonable no me alojaría en ningún otro sitio cuando en Darlington.

Nos alojamos aquí por una semana, mientras que en un campo con el trabajo. Las habitaciones son limpias, cálidas y bien presentado. El servicio aquí es absolutamente increíble! Nada es demasiada molestia para Andrew y el personal. El desayuno sabe muy bien también, sin duda, recomendaría la crema de fresas y tortitas - delicioso! ! Sin duda me alojaré aquí de nuevo cuando esté en Darlington. Muy servicial, amable y siempre me sentí bienvenido! Gracias Andrew!

Excellent service provided by the Staff. Beautifully presented & very clean rooms. Variety and presentation of breakfast, anything you want they will bend over backwards to provide so all tastes are catered for.

have now stayed here 3 times. would recommend to anyone wanting a clean friendly guest house. the owners can't do enough for you. the choice for breakfast is really good. definitely staying again.

I have stayed 3 times. The room was clean and well prepared. The full english breakfast was grand and the staff are extremely helpful and look after you well. Highly recommended

Called in today for a breakfast as a treat for my Birthday.. Was shocked to find it was free this week! Would of more than happy to pay full price for the breakfast! Absolutely amazing quality of food perfectly cooked staff were lovely and so helpful! Everyone needs to try we will definitely be back.

We visited for a breakfast. Really friendly staff in a well decorated, bright room. Loads of choice for the breakfast. All of high standards, large portions and good quality food! A brilliant breakfast deliver by happy and helpful staff.

Stayed with my family. Excellent service and a very good English breakfast. Andrew goes out of the way make your stay enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Balmoral.

Called in this morning to try the breakfast. Beautiful Victorian period house very close to the centre of town. Busy road in front of the guest house but no sound could be heard inside. Dinning room is spacious, clean and very stylish. Ordered the full English breakfast which was delicious. Great coffee - best I ever had in a hotel! Can't recommend this guest house too highly. The owners are polite/friendly, food delicious and the guest house immaculate.

During the year 2014 I have enjoyed a full free breakfast courtesy of Andrew the owner of the guest house. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for me. I would definitely go again whilst this offer is still running and would recommend my friends stayed there.

There isn't many places these days who tick all the boxes! I have been here a few times now and each time I'm never disappointed! Balmoral is very quant with a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere which makes your feel relaxed as soon as you walk in.The service is the best I've ever had. Always a friendly face to welcome you to your seat.Last but not least the food isn't just quality food but you get more than enough to fill you for the rest of the day! Perfect start to your day! You will never be disappointed!

I have called in to the balmoral for a free full English breakfast. I must say it has got to be one of the best breakfasts I have ever had and free too :-) I would recommend this Guest house to anyone its def 5* service with a smile :-) and I hear they maybe plans to open a new steakhouse cant wait!!!

This was my first visit to the Balmoral before work and it won't be my last!.. I had a wonderful breakfast with a few colleagues in a lovely warm and cosy room.. The staff were friendly and attentive.. A good start to the day!.. Thank you

What an excellent place to stay, very friendly, the breakfasts are out of this world, cooked and presented perfectly, I have been working down in oxford for a while and they charged 3/4 times more than this and not one of the breakfasts were even nearly as good as this.Well done keep up the good work

Best place to stay in Darlington. Guest house is really good and more over the people over there are best who provide great service to you. You get a free pick up from station. They waited for me for 7 hours due to train delay. What a great Customer Service. Hope I will get a chance to stay again over there.

It is with out doubt one of the best breakfasts that i have had. A wonderful variety of items from cereals to the full english. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A pleasure to eat here I highly recommend it.

Wonderful way to start your day with a tasty breakfast of your choice: great variety from Full English, Eggs Benedict or fresh fruit and pancakes: an abundance of tea/coffee, juice, cereals, etc, whatever your taste buds require is here, served by very happy and efficient staff and a wonderful host. A very calming place to begin the day. Can't be bettered and You don't have to be an overnight guest to enjoy this treat!

Myself, my Husband, Mum-in-Law and Dad-in-Law decided to take advantage of the Balmoral's amazing free breakfast promotion that was available on Saturday 25/10/14. The whole experience was superb from the attentiveness of Andrew and Amy, the very relaxing atmosphere and the wonderful breakfast itself. I had the full English which was a very generous portion (unfortunately I couldn't finish it all) and included 2 fried eggs on fried bread; 2 rashers of bacon; 2 sausages; black and white pudding; a drop scone; a field mushroom and grilled tomatoes. Fresh juice, tea, coffee, cereal, toast and preserves were also available. The Balmoral has now become my favourite breakfast destination and I will be visiting again very soon.

Delicious full english breakfast, lovely atmosphere and great staff. Cant think of a better way to start the day.

I had the best English breakfast in UK in balmoral, Darlington. It was so delicious and Amie and Andrew served it with kindness. I stayed here for two weeks and had the pleasant experience of this wonderful breakfast. I enjoyed every bit of it and full marks for the perfect ambience. My only choice of stay whenever I visit Darlington.

went to balmoral for breakfast with my dad and we were both over the moon with beautifull breakfast we had! was absolutely everything you want on a english breakfast and it tasted great!unlimited tea and coffey and even fresh strawberries to start with. left bellie full with big smiles on my face. cant wait to go back!excllent service as well (:

Wow what a place to stay and to eat... The rooms are absolutely brilliant and awesome value for price.. The breakfast in the morning is not to be missed excellent host is Andrew. I'll be 100% stooping here again.

I recently visited the balmoral guest house for breakfast, I had a traditional full English which was of a very high standard, the staff were very friendly delivering service with a smile and I will definitely be visiting again.

Wow....what a fantastic find. Couldnt of asked for better, service, food, cleanliness and the atmosphere all fantastic. The food was amazing with a selection of different breakfasts on offer, cooked to perfection. I will be back for sure. Service with a smile :-) I often have family visiting me in darlington but always struggle getting accomadation for them, now i have found the balmoral i will look no further......SUBERB!!

i recently popped in for a breakfast and am so glad i did. The full english i got was perfect with everything i wanted just how i like it. theres always hot tea and coffee available and service with a smile. i will be coming back

Was really impressed by the high quality we received in the Balmoral Guest house. The Breakfast was all of good quality and there was certainly plenty for your money. The welcome was friendly and I felt any requests were of no bother to the staff, looking forward to next time I can visit.

Recently visited the Balmoral with a friend. We had a superb breakfast. My friend chose pancakes with strawberries, while I opted for the more traditional full English. Service was first class and the food was outstanding. Freshly prepared food at its best! Thank you to Andrew and his team.
